Arriana Rezner
Apr 2nd, 2007, 02:49:32 PM
From the highest level of the Holiday Towers hotel and casino, you could see almost everything. Arriana Rezner liked that feeling. Reclined in her sufficiently luxurious Corellian leather throne, she commanded an impressive view - the walls of her office were lined with cameras, showing flickering captures of the many hallways, offices and elevators that made up the Holiday Towers. She watched people coming and going, a slow smile spreading across her lips at the thought of how many people had passed through the casino-hotels doors on that day alone. Yes, business was booming – and yet...

Her eyes wandered the floor to ceiling window pane that looked out across the city, and were drawn inevitably to the Cumulus. Ever since Sorsha Kasajian had handed the keys of the Towers over to Arriana, some months ago, the Cumulus had been something of a thorn in her side. It was owned, rather predictably, by Kasajian's rival within the Black Sun, Sasseeri Reeouurra. Arriana felt herself growing a little tense at the thought of that half-breed, so arrogant and self-assured. It was time to wipe that smug grin off her face.

It had taken some planning – and some calling in of favors from a host of sweet and savory characters from her past – but it, Arriana's bid for complete control of the entertainment sector of Cloud City, was ready at last. No corner of the city was spared, as banners and fliers seemed to cover every street sign and bar top...

Cloud City Sabacc Tournament!

That's right, the galaxy-famous Cloud City Sabacc Tournament is making a comeback!

The tournament, which attracts players all across the galaxy, coincides with the re-opening of the fabulous Holiday Towers hotel and casino, recently refurbished and under new management. The four-day competition will run alongside a whole host of other festivities. Spectators are welcome to watch the competition from the comfort of our luxurious holo-projection lounge, where we will be offering a full buffet, drinks bar and round-the-clock entertainment!

If you don't feel like competing in the main tournament, our regular tables will be open throughout the event. Get to the casino early and you could be one of the lucky thousands chosen at random to receive a free first bet. If you do fancy trying your luck in the big league, registration is now open. The entrance fee is 10,000 credits and all payments will go towards the tournament jackpot. With an annual turnout of hundreds of players, you're guaranteed to win big! On top of this, we also have a luxury yacht to give away, as well as many other prizes, all courtesy of Holiday Towers.

There was only a day to go until the tournament began. There had been a surge of visitors to the hotel, as card players from across the Galaxy came to prepare themselves for the gamble of a life time. It would be a gamble that would make or break the fortunes of many. The players were seasoned, the stakes were high and once you were in there was no going back. With so much on offer, it was no wonder that hundreds – thousands even – of would be winners had already checked in. Now, with only one night to go, excitement was at peak point...

Malick Raine

"What the hell did I do last night?"

Malick whispered to himself so not to wake the woman next to him. He looked down at her and wasn't sure if she was Human or a Hutt. God you had to make some major sacrifices to rip off the rich. This was the probably the lowest he had gone but he never forgot about that one time with the Tardashen woman.

He looked around the bed for his clothing and picked it up. He then as quickly and quietly as possible slipped it all back on. To his surprise the wart hog he had just woke up next to was snoring like a baby.

He stepped quietly to the night stand and opened it. He just grinned as he reached in and pulled out the last 600 credits he needed. That now got him to 10,000 after weeks of hard work. Just enough to get him in the game. Now if his luck was any good he could win something to get him off this Cloud of hell and back to curscant to rejoin the Imperial Star fighters. He slipped the creds in his pockets and almost made it to the door.

Woman: "Where are you going?"

"I was headed out to buy you breakfast. I figure breakfast in bed would be a nice way to say goodbye when you leave tomorrow."

Woman: "Awe that is sweat."

With that Malick slipped out of the room to get himself lost. He didn't want to see that woman ever again. Well he really never wanted to see any of the woman he slept with ever again, except maybe that one twi'lik she was crazy.

Sen Oisel

Yawn

Tired

"Bl eh."

That was the attitude for most mornings since the...accident. Despite the spin of adventures, overwhelming odds conquered and walls created into art there was little to look forward to in this new life Sen Oisel claimed. Goals had been set never realized, and although he accomplished a few things a long the way he still didn't graze the stars with a crew, defeat the bad guys and get that kiss from a Falleen.

All of it had grown into a bore, but he managed. The young lad was like all humans, complex. Even as the world around him spin in it's dull ritual, he threw in his own flavor. Fun was a recipe he cooked up daily, and trouble seemed to always be the main ingredient.

There was no true thought in heading to Cloud City, and even less with his entrance into the hotel for the tournament. Yet....he had plans. Deep, dark, malicious intent driven for cash he wouldn't harness with the hand of a gambit. Instead, he delved into attributes that time or fate couldn't change. The mind of a gambit always conquered the hand, and he was certain to place the odds in his favor on this occasion.

One stumble after another sent his squeaky clean body out the refresher. He had slept well knowing credits were stacking up around him for the taking. The investment wouldn't be a selfish act, but he wouldn't escape without a few to his own name. Instead, he rather remain righteous...leave an anonymous gift for a few funds, organizations and religious leaders. Although he hated the establishment, he couldn't defeat it and credits were required to work within it.

Plus, girls loved credits. At least...it seemed that way.

The two Zeltrons stopped their kissing to listen...

"Calm down you two. I'm heading down stairs to get some snacks, you betta' wait up for me."

Later tonight he'd back out. Zeltrons were good, but word had it that a few other species were better.
