Hey guys, I'm planning to start a new thread as soon as I finish with Kazaar in Spy Game and I had a few technical questions to clear some things up as far as what's acceptable and what's not.

To begin with, I recommend that you read my background thread, Duty Recalled found here:
http://www.sw-fans.net/forum/showthread.php?t=15763
But I wouldn't go so far as to say you HAVE to. :P

Anyways, the short version that pertains to my questions is that Bloodcrest comes from a family that owned a company that did a lot with transportation and ship technology in the Corporate Sector. Although the company was ruined due to Bloodcrest's actions, he managed to get out with a great deal of prototype technology including a small, two person ship with a navigation system specially tweaked for faster short, in-system micro-jumps into hyperspace and generally better for jumping near large masses. The ship also contains a bacta system that protects the ships consoles while filling the cockpit with bacta while the ship is in hyperspace making it possible for the pilot to heal instead of wasting sometimes precious time in hyperspace.

But none of that is what my questions are about because all that has been posted and I've received no complaints yet. My questions pertain to another prototype ship that myself and five other people will be attempting to steal back from the Corporate Sector Authority that originally belonged to and was developed by the Bloodcrest company.

The way I have it in my mind right now is a frigate-sized ship of undetermined design, probably fairly sleek, that is mostly automated requiring a minimum amount of crew. Where a normal frigate would require upwards of 50-100 people, that number would be cut down to about 10 optimum but a minimum of 7. Most of its prototype technology would be involved in the automation with different systems of the ship even possibly having its own seperate droid brain apart from the mainframe. What I need to know is basically the agreed upon limits of this kind of technology. For size, I'm thinking about 250-300m.

As far as armaments, I'm up for suggestions.
Hyperdrive would probably be decent at the very least.
It needs to be able to hold at least one small ship.
At this point, I'm very open to suggestions, but keep in mind that I plan on using this ship for a little while at least.

Thank in advance for any help anyone can provide.

With a heavily automated system, a minimum bridge crew of seven could work. Where you'll be hurting is all the maintenance and general systems people, the ship is going to have heavy upkeep costs if you don't have the personell to keep her in top shape. I have no problem with you having the vessel if you can somehow overcome that problem.

Other than that, what were you looking at for armaments? Cargo space would be fine to hold a small ship, a note on hyperdrives though, anything above x2 is considered military hardware and be considered illegal within most governmental spaces. Though I doubt that's much of a concern for you. :p

:D I am a Rebel/ex-pirate/ex-mercenary. I'd probably leave it borderline military grade. :P Thanks about the upkeep, I hadn't really thought of that. Has there ever been a scavenger system in Star Wars? I mean something on a ship that collected metal from other objects and used it to repair a ship? I probably wouldn't use that for this ship, but the thought came to my mind. After all, I realize that a ship like this has to have weaknesses as well as strengths, just like a good character.

As far as armaments, I look on Wookiepedia and looked at some of the frigate class ships and we're talking anything from 10 turbolasers to 24 quad-turbolasers, concussion missiles, ion cannons, mass-drivers on occasion...that kind of thing.

:D Just so that people at the top will pay attention, without guidelines, I plan to assume anything goes.

Sorry, uhmmm, I think you're good as long as you keep with the fair play rules and RP out the accuisitions.

Good luck.

I know, I was trying to get their attention and I figured that would be the best way. And thanks.
