I adore cute Yoda. :love I may have to fight Hera over him. ;)

I'm left feeling somewhat underwhelmed. Tell me this is an early model.

That looks remarkably poor compared to digital Yoda from the films. Indeed, I hope it is an early placeholder model.

Yeah, sorry, this is from the new computer animated series that is supposed to continue the Clone Wars. I think. Maybe?

Ah, true enough.
In that context... it's alright. I've been kind of lukewarm to the idea of a computer-animated series; I've always felt Star Wars fit very well into a stylized animation format, ala the Clone Wars series from Cartoon Network.

It doesn't help that the render looks old even when compared to the original Toy Story. It looks like the kind of 3D you'd see in a five year old PC game.

Well, if it is a continuation of the Clone Wars. And if Tartakovsky, then it looks like a digital version of his Yoda.

I don't think trying to "continue the theme" of Tartakovsky into the 3D medium really would work. You'd end up with something that looked dated like Reboot or similar.

They do have proper shaders to do pretty good 3d/2d conversions. I dunno, I'm unconvinced.
