Phase One: Expendable evil hordes attack some hapless morons.
Phase Two: Voltron lions destroy expendible evil hordes.
Phase Three: A Ro-Beast enters the fight and briefly overpowers the lions.
Phase Four: Lions form Voltron, who uses some attacks to varying degrees of incomplete success.
Phase Five: Voltron defeats the Ro-Beast with one swipe from the blazing sword.
You have now seen every Voltron episode ever made.

Mark and Charley are butts.
Voltron is just one of those cartoons that sticks with some people, and is a wonderful trip down memory lane for said people. I'll get the sets eventually myself, but right now I've just paid the monthly bills so money is sort of not in my bank account.

Charley's argument only holds water when it pertains to the U.S. Dubs. It's no big secret that most of the shows that came to us from overseas were not only heavily edited for U.S. television, but the episodes order were thrown into the blender also. So as result, you never got to see the series in it's original form unless you were in an anime club and had connections in anime fandom.
And now for the smitings. :D
Charley, I remember when you were a DBZ Hermit who refused to watch any other anime at all. =^;^=
And Mark, well ... you hate everything :lol Almost everything.

I never said Voltron was bad. I just said it was highly formulaic.

That's true. It seems to be a hallmark pattern of 80's pop culture television really.
