I won't make my pics yet but right now I am leaning for the Chiefs to pull the upset, and the other home teams winning. I can't see the Jets beating the Pats twice in Foxboro. The Eagles dominated the Giants in New York I think they will kill the Giants in Philly. Seattle is the only other home team that could fall. They are a great home team though and I guess it depends on which Dallas team shows up.

Pats over Jets
Colts over Chiefs
Cowboys over Seahawks
Eagles over Giants
I want the Chiefs to win, be nice to get the Colts out of the playoffs early. Course that would meant he Pats would go to Baltimore which isn't much of a prize.

Chiefs @ Colts WIN
The Colts are favored, but this is not a good matchup for the Colts. The Chiefs have the ability to get Johnson over 30 carries and if he's running that much, he could easily pile up over 200 yards against that sieve of a run defense. The key for the Colts is of course Manning and Co. If the Colts can score a coulpe of TD's on their first 3 possessions then they can turn the game into a shootout. But if KC can slow them down and only allow FG's or some EARLY 3 and outs, then they can take the time and pound the Colts silly. Running the ball effectively just doesn't wear out that light defense, it keeps Manning, Harrison, and Wayne on the sideline.
WINCowboys @ Seattle
I'm simply picking the team I'm rooting for here. The Cowboys have been dogs for the last month, there's no other way to describe them. Romo is still playing well, it's the defense that's played poorly. How the hell do you give up 39 points to the Lions? AT HOME!!! Going on the road may actually be a benefit for the Cowboys, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Seahawks roll Dallas. On the upside, T.O. will be out of the playoffs.
WINJets @ Pats
I hate them, I hate, hate, hate the Pats. Harrison is out for this game any maybe the entire playoffs. That's a big loss for the Pats, but I don't think it's big enough to cost them this first game. The Jets will have to play a perfect game to pull off this upset. Here's hoping for a perfect game!
Giants @ WINPhilly
The Giants shouldn't even be here. The team is an inconsistent joke. Philly should be able to stay hot and take care of business. The Eagles O'line has gotten better and is one of the best units in the league now. Westbrook is the perfect safety blanket for Garcia.

1. These games actually matter
2. Wildcard games are usually won by home team
(not sure about Dallas, but after that pathetic display against the Lions..)
Saturday
Kansas City at Indianapolis (W)
Dallas at Seattle (W)
Sunday
New York Jets at New England (W)
New York Giants at Philadelphia (W)
- The Pats are an eeeevil dynasty, and the laws of physics dictate that they win a playoff game like this. Otherwise, the very fabric of universe shall crumble in an impossible paradox that sucks the earth into a black hole and ends the human existance. Of course, if I am wrong, I would be very happy..
- As good as the Chiefs are running the ball, I can't see them knocking the Colts out of the playoffs.
- Dallas are too inconsistant for me to pick.
- And finally, JediEb is right about the Giants. They should not even be there, and Eagles really pulled it together at the end of the season.

Dallas over Seattle: Dallas is quite simply the greatest Pro football dynasty of all time.
Colts over K.C:
Pats over Jets: while its good that Jets are a FEEL good type team, the Pats are still the team to beat in the AFC, And as long as Brady is healthy they are always dangerous.
Eagles over Giants:As long as Mcnabb stay's on the bench, the eagles Could go all the way (that is if my boys falter)

So mercenary Nick Saban decided to leave the mess he created in Miami and went back to college ball. What a quitter. He brings in Culpepper and Harrington, they have a terrible year, and he bolts. He left himself no choice by saying "No, I'm not going to be the next Alabama coach" and then actually listening to the offer. I can't say I totally blame him for securing himself for life with his 5 year deal and the reduced stress of college life, but he should have done it like a man and not phoned in to say that he's accepted the 'Bama offer. Totally classless.
In the final analysis he's nothing but another Spurrier-type, overhyped college coach that is over his head in the pros. His 2 year tenure with Miami can be viewed as nothing but a collosal failure that he helped create, and is now running away from. He was given so much control over the franchise after the Wannstedt era came crumbling down. I guess I can look forward to a top 3 draft pick again next year. The player's offseason programs will be all screwed up and they will report to camp out of shape and totally disorganized. I really hope they don't hire a lame retread.
This sucks.

I agree with you it came down to Money really. Alabama I think is crazy. He is getting paid more than most pro coaches. There are only about 5 or six pro coaches that get more than him a year. What happens if Alabama still struggles even with Saban? He hasn't proven himself in my opinion enough for that kind of dough.

Honestly, I'd leave if someone gave me that type of money. It's ridiculous. Although, if I play my cards right, I might be able to coach a decent NFL team into the ground, then make bank from some former college super power.

A small bit of joy for an otherwise dismal year for the Dolphins: Taylor wins defensive player of the year
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2721073
He beat out Merriman, Urlacher, Lewis and a couple others.
Although the Dolphins were horrendous this year, Taylor was unbelievable. I'm glad he won though I didn't think he would because they didn't make the playoffs. I guess the voters decided he was just too impressive to ignore.

What a laughably bad and boring half of football. These are playoffs? Looks more like the preseason to me. Manning has been pretty bad...again in the playoffs, but the KC offense looks like it's being run by a group of 8 year old girls. 16 total yards? No first downs? I hate to see what their stats would be against a good defense. Ugh.

I know I made my only mistake by going with my Team. They had one of the worst game plans I have ever seen. Indy basically put 9 in the box and dared them to pass. They have thrown the ball in one of the first 5 series instead just run 2 times than pass. Of course the WR's suck and Gonzalez was double teamed. The defense played there hearts out though, they just need to do something about the offense outside of Johnson in the offseason. Man how have the tables turned.
The Pats were dominant today and the Giants looked like the team that had been 2-6 in the second half. Pentalties, dumb mistakes and bad clock managment did them in. Still the Eagles played great, I have a feeling they are going to make it to the super bowl. I just like how this team has played the last month.

entering the playoffs there was 3 teams I don't want to see in the superbowl
Indy
Dallas

Dallas is gone and Indy should be gone this week as well, now NE is playing hot and I think a case of Marty Ball could sink SD
I also don't like the Ravens and Philly but could live with them in the Superbowl
I'd like to see NO or Chicago in the NFC and I guess San Deigo in the AFC

I would love to see N.O just get to the Superbowl. They don't have to win, it would be a heck of a story for the city and franchise. I could take the Eagles because they have never won. I am probably rooting for the Pats and Saints with the Eagles the third team. Oh I think Marty is going to do something stupid. He has had great teams like this before 1995, 1997 Chief Teams and his two 80 Brown teams. His 1995 team probably had the best defense he had ever had and that team couldn't even win a game. I think its funny the Colts are going back to Baltimore. They should get a great reception :p

2. I can tell you first hand, the people in N.O are some of the lowest forms of life I have ever come across, and WILL NEVER , EVER even pretend that i feel sorry for them and or care if they ever get back on their feet. (I should note: I dont mean every last person that lives in N.O JUST A VAST majority) And if a GAME can make and or break how you feel about one's self, city and life in general than you have serious problem(not you JMC, N.O as a whole)
I should also note that yeah, thats a VERY bad Christian attitude and I actually hate I feel that way, something I have to sooo pray about, but the truth is the truth,as i see it and i aint going to sugar coat it.

Well I don't really agree with you, but I wouldn't argue about it. I don't think it is fixed or anything. N.O had a good core last season (they won 7 games the year before) but the hurricane demorilized that team and then Duece Mcallistar got hurt and that pretty much ended this season. By adding Drew Brees and Reggie Bush and having Colston surprise everyone to that decent team they made enough improvements were they could surprise people in the NFC. Didn't hurt that the Falcolns and Panthers laid major eggs.
