I'm making some really goofy picks this week, maybe it's the Christmas spirit or something. But so many games have turned out weird lately, maybe I won't be that far off :D. As before, I might still make some changes before various kick-off times.

Hey, in this pool, you seriously don't need to know a thing. There's a couple things, like: the Raiders always suck, The Patriots and Colts are always good. The rest you can do a coin flip on and still not be dead last.
Regarding last night's game: are we all ready for the "did Favre play his last game?" merry-go-round to start? I'm not. It's the same sickening refrain that we've heard for 3 years now. :x

I don't pay attention to Pro Bowl picks because I never bother to watch the game, but my father told me tonight about the fact that Terrell Owens was NOT selected to go to the Pro Bowl this year. That's definitely a telling sign.

Tampa Bay defeated Cleveland 22-7. Only got to watch the last few minutes after I got some last minute shopping done. Cleveland Offense started to come back, but got stopped cold when Anderson suffered a whalloping sack by, whatsisname, Havo-something.
So Ambrose, Liam, Ryan, Jedieb all guessed right on that game.

Give credit to John Fox and the Carolina Panthers. They figured out hot make Chris Weinke a winner, by running the ball 52 times and attempting seven pass attempts.

Its official we could have 1-2 8-8 teams in the playoffs in the NFC. The 6 seed will be 8-8 for certain, take your pic from the Giants, Panthers, Packers, Rams and Falcons. Seattle could lose and be 8-8 as the 4th seed. This shows how weak the NFC is. There are only two teams that I think are any good and that is the Bears and Saints. The Eagles could be dangerous though if they can pull off a win today. The AFC's last two wild card spots aren't clear either a lot of teams could still get in. I think it could be great if the Titans got in, and they could be very dangerous in the playoffs.

The Eagles dominated the Cowboys today. I would beware the Eagles right now. They are getting hot at the right time. They could make a run.

Heh I know what you mean. Although, what I really loved was Owens dropping the ball twice and I agree with Madden I think he won't be back with them next year. I hope nobody signs him after the side show he has caused this year.

The Flex scheduling has failed us. Of all the matchups to give us for Sunday Night football on Week 17, they give us Green Bay at Bears. Now, I guess I should be thankful, because that means my New Years won't be spent in front of the TV watching a good game, but it defeats the purpose of the system to have bad games on.

Bears & Packers is usually a good game, though the records don't indicate it. Packers are looking for the Playoffs and the Bears are 13-2.
Almost thought they would move the Pats vs Titans game up but with the Pats already clinched there is a good chance they will rest a lot of stars and you won't be seeing much Brady after the 1st quarter.

I thought they would have shown Titans and Pat's too. Or Jacksonville and KC. The Bears will destroy the Packers, like they did earlier this year.

The Bears might bench most of the team though, since the game means nothing for them. If they keep most of their stars out, Green Bay has a great chance to win that game.
Miranda Tarkin
Dec 26th, 2006, 11:04:53 AM
Mean nothing??? That is Green Bay we're talking about, our rivals! ;) The game means something in that regard, but you're right. It would be smart to bench most and keep players healthy for the playoffs, but on the other hand, Smith wants to shut out everyone in the Division ^^
Jedi Master Carr
Dec 26th, 2006, 09:42:56 PM
If he was smart he still bench his best players at least the second half. You know I have been thinking about why the NFL picked that game and I think they also considered Brett Favre and that it might be his last game.
jjwr
Dec 26th, 2006, 09:44:20 PM
Course this could be Brett Favre's last game....or is it? Who knows! Thats the fun of this game. That and the schedule makers seem to think everyone wants to see lots of Green Bay in prime time when most of us could really care less.
I think the Packers have had more primetime games the past 4 years than Patriots....who have won 3 SB's in that span.
Jedi Master Carr
Dec 26th, 2006, 09:52:05 PM
Well its the obsession with the aura of Favre. The NFL was the same way with Montana, although the Niners won 4 SB's to Green Bay's one.
