Ok, this poll should offer some more specific options in the age groups we've identified as our largest. :mneh

Now there is. It posts the thread up and then takes you to the poll afterwards to type in all the options. :shakefist Impatience!

Well, the 18-19 works a lot better for me than the 14-18/19-25 or whatever it was before.

Only two ages in the 20-21 group. That's good. Someone won't think I'm a 25 year old geezer when I'm actually 21. ;)

Well, to be fair, the first Star Wars movies came out...exactly 30 years old as of this coming May (25 to be exact). So if you're only 27, the first movie came out when you were 3. Under this, you can claim the respect due to "The older crowd who have been with the series since it began" (even if you haven't) and younger people such as myself could call themselves the "new generation." Which isn't quite fair ;) because that would mean you got the good videos that had substance and we got the movies that are really flashy.

You mean that A New Hope came out almost three years before I was born. ;)

Though I do believe that I was alive when Return of the Jedi hit the big screens. :mneh

I must admit, it is interesting seeing the age groupings of the posters here.

And 25 is not the geezer stage. I refuse to be labled a geezer.

When you get up to twenty you start defining geezer as anyone who's five years older than you are.

Dec 18th, 2006, 06:06:13 PM
I think that you mean before you get up to twenty you define geezer as anyone five years older than you. I certainly have a better appreciation for older people the older I myself get.

I'm 20. I feel old.

That doesn't necessarily mean that I think 40 year old people are "old" or geezers. No way. I have cousins that are in their 40's.

It just means I feel old.

Old. Old. Old.

Wasn't I 16 only yesterday?

4 months until I'm 21. That's old.

Looks like the majority of posters are in their mid-to-late twenties. We're staring 30 in the face, people! :cry

Meanwhile, Sw-fans is coming up on 8 years old.

I'm going to be 20 soon and I don't feel old at all. In fact I still feel about 14, which I guess is probably my mental age, haha. I am determined to avoid all the real responsibilities of life until the latest time possible! :D

Ha! My mental age is younger than yours... :lol

Wait. That's not good.

:(

But hey. At least I get to be at the top end of an age catagory. 19, FTW!

For me, the age boundaries are a bit smudged. I always consider "old" as "old enough to by my parent". But because my eldest sister is 30, and my grandparents were in their late 80s/90s when they died, it actually works out (by comparison to my girlfriend's family) that I'm in the same generation (technically) as her parents.

Although, I did have a little kid ask me how old I was (a few years ago). I asked him to guess. He said "about 30". I told him that I was only 16. His response was: "Wow! That's really old."

Pesky kid.

the kid guessed 30? that's bad.... I have the opposite problem, everyone always guesses my age at about 19-20ish and I'm due to be 26 in less than a month!

Lilaena De'Ville
Jan 14th, 2007, 05:32:44 PM
I don't see how that's a problem. Just think, when you're 36 people will think you're only 30. ;)

like when I was 19, I was buying a cd and my mom was there....this one happened to have bad lyrics so the lady looks at my mom and goes "Is your mom okay with you buying this?" "I was like doesn't matter, I'm 19" *shows driver's license* and then the lady was like o.O and "okay"....

I was buying CDs with "Bad Lyrics" since I was maybe 13. Guess they just don't care as much in Jersey.

24 here some days I feel old and others I don't but thats life. However I still ge tcarded just about every place I go.

Like few months back shopping at a store called (shopko) I got carded for buying a rated R-movie.

I get carded for booze heck half the time I have my Id out and waiting for them cause I know there gonna ask.

I get card at my place of work for cigs still (mind you, you have to be 18 to work there) yet still some people there still card me.

also last year at around this time I went on break at work and outside to get some fressh air. I had 3 teenage girls pull me to the side and ask what grade i was in, in highschool. I was like um I haven't been in school for 4 years. They gave me the dam your old but don't look it look that I get from most cashiers who card me.

but thats life.

(on another note I got card only a week ago at a gas station and the cashier laughed at me I'm sure if she was laughing at my age or my name but seriously it unerved me.)

Videl

haven't been carded in a place I thought they would've, had my card out in case.....

one was an adult shop, the sign said "if you look under 25, we will card you..." I wandered in expecting to be carded as I've always been but nothing, just a quick look....I was like "odd....."

Dasquian Belargic
Feb 26th, 2007, 08:25:27 AM
I always feel quite embarassed when I have to ask people for proof of age at work, especially when it turns out that they're a couple of years older than me. I only do it because I get fined £80 if it turns out that people *are* actually under-age, so please don't feel bad if you get "carded" a lot... the cashier is probably just covering their behind :mneh

Razielle Alastor

I only get carded if my purse is in the car. It's a conspiracy, I'm sure..
