Joining the Rebel Alliance.

I didn't really know where to post this. I'm interested in making a Rebel but I'd like to know whats what first. Who's in charge. Whats the current status of the galactic civil war? Territory etc. As much as I can find out really. I'm leaning more towards a fleet-based character but not one who's confined to a ship all the time. I'd like to get around a bit, maybe do some infiltration/intel stuff. I'm not entirely certain.

Standing as the opposition I could throw in much of the information about some of these things.

Dasq is in charge of the Rebel Intelligence, but in complete control of it is an NPC predessecor to Mon Mothma. In terms of the current state of the Galactic Civil War is that is a regrouping stage on the oppsoition (Galactic Empire). There is numerous changes going about in terms of fight for power. Spread of Khendon Sevon's prowess throughout the fleets is pushing him to the forefront of the Galactic Empire in replacement of the Emperor.

Territory is an undistinguished label. From examination there is not definate territory, but from RPing there has been an establishment of a moving Dreadnaught I believe where Dasq and other big names of the Rebellion are about. They dont stay there, seeing as there are numerous missions pushing them about.

The Fleet arena of the Rebellion is barren since Lion disappeared. A few people try to resurge it in the past, but it seems the involvements weren't long lasting. Beyond that is the famous Rogue Squadron. They can truly explain more about that.

Dasq has the Infilitration/Intelligence aspect locked. Any further questions on that could go to her, but anyone could probably answer the questions generally within the Rebel Intelligence.

They're explanations of the various branches of the Alliance. You obviously don't have to stick rigorously to one category, but that should give you some idea of the kind of area you could fit your character into.

As you may have noticed, things are pretty quiet 'round here at the minute. Most Rebel activity so far has been fairly small scale - no grand, epic fleet battles, primarily because we don't have any fleet roleplayers (with the exception of Rogue Squadron). The majority of our activity right now is centred around Rebel Intel, with agents scouting out information, infiltrating bases, capturing Imperials and such like.

I'd be interested in fleet roleplaying. But I'd like more hands-on action too.

I'm thinking of a privateer captain, maybe his father was a Captain/Admiral during the Clone Wars, specifically after the formation of the Empire, and so was killed by the new Emperor's armada. That would be reason enough for him to side with the Rebels, I think.

So he'd grow up hating the Empire, and do whatever he could to just keep them out of his own affairs. But then something happens which tips the scales. Maybe a random Imperial patrol tries to plant contraband on board his ship and then make an example of him, claiming him to be a Rebel sympathiser - which he is but isn't an activist. So then he decides its time to make a choice and give the Empire what it deserves.
