Come on now. Talk about needlessly stirring the hornets nest. I know T.O. creates most of his own troubles, but this one is a total media fabrication. Why the hell would they ask him that question? They're just trying to get a quote out of him and start another controversy.
jjwr
Nov 22nd, 2006, 01:13:13 PM
He answers it though, a lot of the issues with TO wouldn't happen but he always feeds the media and they eat it up.
JMK
Nov 22nd, 2006, 01:44:05 PM
Yeah, like I said, he brings most his own problem up himself.
But in this case, it's a totally pointless question on behalf of the media. Here were the possibilities:
A- he answers "Absolutely not". He tells the truth, and a story gets made about it.
B- he answers "no comment", and speculation runs rampant. He still holds a grudge!
C- he says "sure, I'll call him." When in fact he's lying.
There's just no merit to that question whatsoever and they're just looking to stick a microphone under T.O.'s nose. We all wish Owens would either go away, or just shut up and play....but it seems some folks out there just have to keep going to the well.

jjwr, you poor schmuck! You doubted the Fins, now you're a game behind everyone! ;)
Miami climbs back to close to .500. Though I fully expected them to be a 7-4 team at least by this point, I have to take what I can get. 4 game win streak and one game below 500. Playoffs are still an extreme long shot, but at least there's a glimmer of hope, whereas a month ago, a top 3 pick was looking likely again.
As for the Lions - man they were scary close to almost putting up 13 points! :lol
They are bad. I'd love to see a Lions-Raiders matchup. How pathetic would that be?
Did Joey Harrington just cost Matt Millen his job?

LOL, I knew Detroit would lose they only won one game in the last 6 weeks and that was to Vick (Vick gave them that game). Dallas is killing Tampa. I think there will only be one close game this year on Thanksgiving, the KC-Denver one. And that game will only be TV in less than half the country. I am just glad my cable company had it.
Jedi Master Carr
Nov 23rd, 2006, 07:12:01 PM
I have no idea why, but I have NFL network, but they don't have the game on, instead have some program on. This sucks, I have to listen to it through a radio stream on the Internet.

10-0 KC, Denver has commited a lot of pentalies, Plummer is playing horrible and LJ is amazing. Lets see if it continues.
Jedi Master Carr
Nov 23rd, 2006, 10:09:40 PM
KC wins 19-10. They way they dominated them, they should have won by more. They couldn't get the ball in the end zone. Hopefully, as Green shrugs the rust off, they will get better in the Red Zone.

Oh Ryan I think we can make a date 2 weeks from Sunday that Baltimore-KC game will be a Sunday night game. You should have a 8-4 KC team (I think they will beat Cleveland) and at least a 10 win Baltimore game. That should be a great game, IMO.

As for Denver, they're playing with fire, and word is Cutler will be taking over soon, if not next week. The Broncos were terrible yesterday, and you're right Layton, KC should have won by a lot more.

Well I am not talking smack :p I actually think it will be a great close game, when they play. It could go either way in that one. And Kyle I agree they should have won by more, I contribute that to two things: Green's Rust and Gonzalez playing hurt. I think they could have scored a TD or two if either had been different. I am not going to get into Lenny Walls's stupid play.

Nov 24th, 2006, 05:06:20 PM
Well I think Bailey had *something* to do with the fact that they didn't win by more. Green was probably scared as hell to throw to his side once he got to the red zone.

Yeah you are probably right. And with Gonzalez banged up he really didn't have many other options after those two. Denver still has a good defense and that is what kept them out of the End Zone, except for one time.

I can't believe Brady juked out Urlacher in the open field, thats classic!
LT is incredible. I love how he celebrates TD's, either tosses the ball back to the ref or just tucks it into his arm and runs back to the sideline.

You know, I hate the Pats, but where would the Bears be tonight without the refs?
jjwr
Nov 26th, 2006, 06:09:22 PM
Not in this game. Like I said Pats 17, Bears 3, Refs 7
That second one was a little bit better, it looked like Hobbs may have interferred but that was still very questionable.

Nov 26th, 2006, 06:12:58 PM
SD has taken the lead 21-14 and the Giants have choked away theirs. That team is just falling apart. The Cowboys should eat them alive next week.
jjwr
Nov 26th, 2006, 06:15:20 PM
Not that the Cowboys aren't playing well in their own right but they have gotten lucky that the rest of the division is falling apart, it will make their road that much easier.
Jedieb
Nov 26th, 2006, 06:16:52 PM

Jedieb
Nov 26th, 2006, 06:24:18 PM
Huge defensive game by both teams. Man, Grossman is doing everything he can to lose his job. Griese isn't an unknown quantity, he can take Grossman's job if he keeps playing like this.
jjwr
Nov 26th, 2006, 06:24:27 PM
The Bears D is incredible there is no doubt about that but 10 of their points were off pretty cheap penalties.
Huge game by Asante Sammuel, he had missed the past few games due to injury.
One thing to look out for with the Pats, they gave up about 150yds rushing, most of that after Seau went out(career probably over) so thats something they'll have to fix.
Jedi Master Carr
Nov 26th, 2006, 06:25:47 PM
I think they have to stick with Grossman. It is too late to change QB's I think it is way too risky to go with a QB who hasn't played all year.

Speaking of, when is Carolina going to bench Jake??(not that he is bad, he just needs sometime riding the pine to clear his head)LONG over due. And, did Fox just not wanna win?? I mean, who was calling those plays???
Think these teams need to take a look at my boys(Dallas) and understand, sometimes change is good.

Now, thats true, cant argue that. But he as a whole really isnt Qb material, I dare say that the recievers were so shocked to see the ball being thrown more that 6 yards and actually catchable it shocked them to badly to be able to catch it. But seriously (i was actually) ;) but Atlanta would be best served to put Vick in as reciever let him use his speed and all this athletic ablities i keep hearing about. But their season isnt over just yet so, who knows, he may end up doing something and ill end up eating crow.
Of course thats just my two cents worth and thats about all it is worth :)
Nathanial K'cansce
Nov 26th, 2006, 10:44:23 PM
Hah, shaub. I wouldn't mind that.
And yea, one of my friends and I were just talking about how Vick could be better used as an option running back or even a wide out. He has the speed, height, and toughness to do it. I don't know if his 10 year contract would allow that, though.
...It was a ten year one, right?
Jedi Master Carr
Nov 26th, 2006, 10:46:16 PM
Vick is a poor pocket passer. The problem with Atlanta is, there rushing game isn't the same. Dunn is getting old, they need a young RB to carry the load that would help out Vick. When they have to rely on him to pass 40 times they aren't going to win very much. I disagree with you about Jake, he isn't the problem in Carolina.

AFC teams went 4-0 again this week vs NFC teams, and the Giants (previously) one of the better teams choked away a huge 4th qtr lead vs the mighty Titans. I can't remember a team falling apart like the Giants have. This season they've had Barber critisize Coughlin, Shockey has called out Coughlin, and in turn Coughlin asked that his players keep the yapping in-house. Now he's come out and nailed Manning to the cross. Look who's calling the kettle black. What a mess they are. Who wants to bet that Coughlin is not coaching the team after week 17? He's lost total control and his players have lost confidence in him. This whole division has been gift-wrapped for Dallas. The whole NFC is pretty terrible though. Outside of the Bears, Saints and Cowboys, all of the other teams need a prayer to win any game.
As for Vick...the guy just isn't a good QB. He's exciting as hell to watch, but he's just no good all-around.

Nov 27th, 2006, 12:59:17 PM
In a one-game scenario, sure you can make that case. But even at that, this is WORSE. The Giants blew the same size lead in less time than it took the Cardinals. At least the Cardinals can say that they blew it against the best team in the NFC...what can the Giants say?
Besides...I meant that the G-Men are crumbling from the inside-out. Infighting, talking to the media...it's a total disaster there.

Yeah. It happens. Especially when there is such a high demand for perfection at your position and plenty of talented and capable guys out there.

Think of Lin Elliot, he was accurate kicker who just fell apart after that miss. Kicking is very psychological and missing big kicks can be a death nail for a kicker. About the NFC, I disagree with you JMK about just those three teams. I throw the Seahawks in there. They are now just getting healthy and with Hasselback and Alexander back they are a threat. I am not sure how well they will do without homefield advantage though. I think they could beat the Saints in N.O and maybe win in Dallas, but I can't see them winning in Chicago.

Depending on which Grossman shows up, anyone can go to Soldier Field in January and win. When he's on, the Bears can be a juggernaut and blow people out. When he's erratic like he was last night and against the Cards and Dolphins, then Chicago needs miracles on defense just to stay in a game.
Can't wait to see who gets hot in December and builds a head of steam into the playoffs. Right now the Cowboys, Ravens, and Chargers are some of the hottest teams in the league. But I doubt all 3 of them will head into the playoffs hot.

Seattle could get hot when they get healthy. The Chiefs could be a team now that Trent Green is back. Heck the Bengals could catch fire and pull what the Steelers did last year.

If the Ravens can beat the Bengals this thursday, the sky is the limit.

Good game in Seattle, although with the Snow, it almost looked like Green Bay.

3rd INT by Favre this game is over. Man those last two INT were awful throws.

I did better than I had thought. 6 games out with 5 weeks to go...it's not looking good. I'll finish smack in the middle. Again.

Nope, I doubt it will hold up :).
I may be changing some of my picks before the games start on Sunday, too :).
