I should note at this point in time we have no idea what happened, but I am assuming there may be no way to get these posts back from wherever they went, so don't wait around too long for them to be brought back from beyond the grave.

Update: We have discovered that our database was moved to a new server around the time of the post disappearances, and this most likely caused some corruption with some of the posts that were being made at the same time.

They are not retrievable, unfortunately. However, this means that it won't happen again. :)

On a more positive note, at least it happened during a time of little activity. It could have been alot worse :(
