(This write up is still incomplete, but I'm posting what I have finished in the meantime. It will need revision and editing later as more is added.)

The War of Chicago

In 1993, a pack of Garou attacked the Succubus Club, a well-known pleasure spot for the Cities’ Kindred. Outraged, Prince Lodin called a blood hunt upon the Werewolves. Unknown to Lodin, the attack was part of a Sabbat plan to overtake Chicago by inciting a war between the Werewolves and the Camarilla. Allied with a Hive of Black Spiral Dancers, the Sabbat assisted them in taking the Fanum, an important center for the Garou, and releasing the Jupiter Celestine into the sky.

Over the next six days, Chicago suffered lightning storms that grew worse as the sky turned red. Bane infested humans, rampant murders and bizarre occurances such as red swans plagued the city as it was plunged into a state of chaos.

Two Immortals living in the city, Fiona Devlin and Brigid Cassidy, joined the war. Fighting staunchly on the side of the Garou, they hunted the Black Spiral Dancers and helped burn down the Tremere Chantry. With their help, the Fanum was retaken and the Celestine was restored. Along the way, they rescued a six year old girl from a Black Spiral that had just killed her Mother. The child’s name was Michele Hawkins, a pre-immortal who Fiona would come to mentor many years later.

With Lodin destroyed and the city without a Prince, the Primogen offered a treaty to the Werewolves. Status quo antebellum. ("same as before the war"). The terms were declared unacceptable by the Garou elders, and the war continued. At the same time, Fiona and Brigid initiated a purge, slaying the most loathsome members of the Kindred community. They hunted down the Sabbat in equal measure, although Philipe Rigaud managed to escape. With over a third of the Kindred population destroyed, the Primogen made a second overture to end the hostilities. A treaty based on the Covenant of Vancouver.

For the Garou:
1. The Chicago kindred would use their business influence to help keep the Wyrm out of the city.
2. The Kindred would give the Garou free passage through the city, unhindered, to visit the Fanum.

For the Kindred:
1. The Garou would simply keep the peace and stop the assault on the vampires of the city.

All parties agreed and peace between the Kindred and the Garou has been maintained.
