The Chronicle of Palleus

[Palleus]

Takes place 73 and a half years ago, during the time of the <st1><st1>Old</st1><st1> Republic</st1>...

Palleus, my name was Palleus. I thought as I received my new airbus ticket that would take me from my home world, Drexel II on to Iskolan, a water world that was very similar.

"Enjoy your pilgrimage, Quay and I'll see you back and refreshed in four months." My Master Sol told me as he handed me my ticket to Drexel II. "Thank-you, Master." I answered with a bow as I slung my bag over my shoulder and stepped in line for the airbus. I gave him one last nod good-bye before I entered the bus and took a seat. That was where the lie began…<o></o>

“Here you go, Miss. Enjoy the trip.” The ticket master told me with a grin. I smiled briefly and was soon on my way to my last and final stop. The pilgrimage was not an entire lie, it was going on and it did last for the four months. I, however was not going on that pilgrimage; I had my own pilgrimage to evoke on. I needed to find something that lie beyond the reaches of the Jedi Code.

Love between a man and a woman.
<o></o>
Never had I experienced this particular feeling and was very vague on its regards to the life of different species that were not Jedi. We were trained for years that this kind of love was forbidden. Treacherous outcomes could happen in the result of a relationship of this sort and I wanted to know why. I had done my homework and now I was ready to make my own research on this particular emotion. For weeks, I did secret research getting ready for my journey.

The thoughts of the Jedi Code came to mind as I stepped into the ‘fresher of the airbus terminal. I was trained enough in the Force and to hide my identity, I did hours of research on the methods of that as well as practicing secretly in my quarters when my Master was not around. I had it down to a tee. I looked at my features and took myself into the Force, closing my eyes and picturing just what I wanted. A short time later, my long dark hair was a light red and my tanned features were now paler than I’d ever been.

Perfect. I smiled in spite of myself. I was Palleus now.

I could hear my Master telling me the Code…

For years my mind was racked by this last passage he always taught me. Enlightenment, love was part of enlightenment to my knowledge and I was seeking knowledge. The knowledge of why this code was so wrong forbidding something so enlightening. If love was determined as enlightenment, why was it forbidden? I had to find out why. This was merely a working of research for me and we were often taught to research questions we had.

It was another days passage to Iskalon and I was more than ready to begin my research project.<o></o>

[Argos Ewan]

Day by day, I looked over files and files of records keeping everything in line for the profits of my family’s fishing business. On Iskalon the Ewan Fishing Corporation, our fishing had become one of the greatest commodities in our system. As it was it was one of many, but a leader in our field of fishing. Our planet teamed with billions of fish and with our productive breeding programs of the fish it was a fishing empire that would soon embed itself into the surrounding systems.

As I kept the accounts up to date and balanced with the orders, my brother Jace did the piloting of our business ship, the Eclipse. We used the ship for the transport of buying customers which kept the orders coming in. The ship was a luxury Corvette that was used for many different uses but the Eclipse was decked out lavishly and kept groomed for the business class of customers. For the higher paying customers we often used the ship to ship small orders along with our customers when they wanted to bring their small samples of our product with them when we transported them back to their homeworld.

Right now the business had entered into a time of breeding for the fish and my father and mother oversaw that part of our business which gave me some time for this part of our season to take the time to do personal things. This time was rare for me and I took advantage of it every time it came around. Time to find personal time for entertainment and the buying of many luxuries that most only dreamed of.

During this time Jace had taken me to many places trying to get me to meet a mate. In our culture it seems that there was no better time for such things even though I believe it was just Jace’s way of trying to take my family position from me so he could move up. I guess he can try, but he doesn’t know or have ever learned the intricacies of how to really run a business. So it gives me more time to enjoy him as a brother and not worry about my status in the family.

As the breeding time finally fell upon the company I went to find my brother and I knew exactly where to find him. As I walked into the hanger I saw Jace stepping out of the Eclipse. “Well my brother, it seems that our time is finally our own. The breeding season has begun and I am looking boredom straight in the face.” I smiled and put my hand onto his shoulder. “Now I just know you have something up your sleeve as usual. So do tell, what have you planned in your devious little mind today?”

[Jace Keller]

I saw my brother crossing the hanger and greeted him accordingly. "Yo, bro!" I smiled as I put the data-pad I had into my back pocket. I smacked my hands together.

"Well, I was thinking that since it's my birthday at midnight, we'd stay in town this evening and go about the pubs in celebration. I know Mumya and Dodya are going to have some big shin-dig tomorrow night with tuxs and such. I just want to hang out and have some good old fashioned fun. Are you up to it?"

I clapped him on the back and laughed. I was turning 103 tonight and my youth was quickly passing me by, too quickly by my thoughts.

[Argos Ewan]

Jace mentioned the two times I hated and had forgotten the most, tuxs and his birthday. He always did get crazy on his birthday but I knew it was only once in a cycle this ever happened and this time it was going to be fun if I liked it or not. “Well that sounds real good to me brother. This cycle, I am following you. After all, it is your time and I want you to enjoy it. Besides, your not getting any younger.”

I just had to say that. He always hated it when I would mention that. I don’t know it just seemed that he always felt his youth was slipping away from him as if he was becoming some old dusty skeleton to be locked away.

[Jace Keller]

I smirked and rolled my eyes at him. He always teased me of my age and that I was 'getting up there.' "Yeah, yeah, yeah...don't remind me. I will have no recollection of it tomorrow." I added with a smile. "Some of the guys are going to meet us at Shade's Pub."

[Argos Ewan]

I looked strangely at him, "you want to go to that old hole again? My brother, your going to have to start showing some class. Your rich now. You don't have to go to places like that anymore."

[Jace Keller]

"Hey, to each his own. I don't like those ritzy joints, a bunch of tight-wadded, high-class snobs who don't know how to smoke, drink or have a good time." I replied and shook my head. "Besides, we'll have enough of that at Mumya and Dodya's thing tomorrow night, do you really want to spend two nights like that?"

I raised an eyebrow and continued. "And maybe we can find you a date for tomorrow night, so Mumya won't go crazy inviting all the single available females..." I laughed at that point, and I was not really kidding. Our Mumya did that with him, it almost made me feel sorry for the ole' boy,

[Argos Ewan]

I shook my head as he mentioned about Mumya and Dodya trying to fix me up with other females. I remembered how it always made me feel so uncomfortable and often made me feel foolish. “Oh no, not that again.” I threw my hands up as I looked at him. “Why is everyone trying to fix me up with someone? Maybe I don’t want to meet someone. Well I do, but it’ll happen soon enough and when it does it’ll be of my own choosing.”

I looked at my brother with disgust. “I just wish everyone in this family would quit looking at me as if I’m their newest breeding ground for the family. It is really quite embarrassing to me.”

[Palleus]

The passage to Iskalon was not as comfortable as the one to Drexel II, a huge amount of people were shoved into the airbus and every seat was filled. I luckily was able to get a window seat, so I could easily place my bag on my lap, lean against the window and sleep some. But, being it was a twenty-four hour excursion, my neck was aching, my legs were cramped even though I was able to get up and walk around, the 'freshers were in constant use and my neighbor was an excessive talker.

That's what I get for going coach. I thought irritably as my neighbor went on about her past lovers and such. She was Iskalonian and her name was Alonda.

"Oh, Jeris he was such a flirt, I finally couldn't take it anymore..." She continued talking as I gave her a slight smile and looked out the window. Her constant chatter, was not even ceased as I told her I needed sleep. She began talking of her sleep patterns! Rather huffed that she would not cease to shut up, I put in my head phones and began listening to some music. I finally went to sleep sometime later.

[Jace Keller]

I laughed. "Well, that's what you get for being the oldest. You know Mumya upholds the tradition of being married by your 175th birthday and that's not too far away. I on the other hand have many years before that is expected of me." I gave him a sarcastic smile. "Keep this up and you're going to give Mumya a heart attack."

[Argos Ewan]

I didn’t act like anything he was saying was new to me because it wasn‘t. I had heard it for years. I sighed as I looked at him. “I am so sick of hearing that about my age. I maybe 175 next year but I really don’t think Mumya is going to have a heart attack over it. She’s just going to have to get over it. Personally I don’t think I’ll be married for a long time. Besides, it takes years to be with someone before getting married and I’m not even seeing anyone right now.”

I looked into his eyes as I smiled at him. "If either of us should worry it is you. Things with me is over and now your next on the hot seat."

[Jace Keller]

I laughed as I started walking out of the hanger. "And just why am I in the hot seat?"

[Argos Ewan]

As I walked with my brother I looked around the company area. "Well mainly because I'm not going to make it before the 175th year, obviously. Therefore you are next in line and then mumya will have a new target to hit, you." I smiled as I walked with him knowing that this now took the pressure off of me know.

[Jace Keller]

"Me? Married? Hell, no! I'm not gettting married, I've got too many things yet to do. There's to many pubs and parties to attend." I announced as we walked. "I love the women, but I'm not committing myself to no one."

[Argos Ewan]

As we were walking I suddenly stopped and grabbed my face with my hands and acted like I was crying. “Oh by the Gods! This is terrible! What is mumya ever going to do?! This is going to kill her!” I froze and spread my fingers and looked at Jace through my fingers letting him know I was joking with him.

[Jace Keller]

I rolled my eyes and gently punched him in the arm. "Oh please..." I paused for a moment. "Come on you ole' goat, let's go get you a woman so you'll be able to keep mumya in tact."

As we walked into the coastal city of Teness. The streets were filled with beings of all shapes and sizes, not only were we in a fishing city, by our system was tropical and tourists loved it. There were dozens of hotels along the streets as well as casinos, resturants and pubs galore. We turned down a side street and headed towards Shade's. I spent a lot of time in Shade's Pub, and I could out drink anyone...so far.

[Argos Ewan]

"Owwwww," I yelled as he hit me and walked away. "Goat? Who's the goat? Wait! What in the systems is a goat?! Hey! hold up!" I quickly ran to catch up to him as we went toward the city.

I walked with him to Shade's Pub and followed his lead. After walking in I went to the bar and thought about what to order. I saw what looked like a practical drink and asked the bartendar about it. "Barkeep! What kind of drink is that?"

"That is Mortorian Wine," he replied.

That sounded kind of strange to me and I made my order. "Please bring me one of those. I'd like to try that."

The barkeep left and brought me one back and I sipped it and looked around to see where my brother had gotten off to.

[Jace Keller]

I'd found my mates in the back of the bar, by the pool and sabbac tables. I lit up a cigarette as soon as I entered. The place was booming with people, mostly people that lived here. Tourists usually didn't get over this far.

"Hey, Fritz!" I called as I joined them, turning to see my older brother at the bar.

"Hey, dude! We've got a drink for ya!" He returned and handed me some large glass of blue liquid. "It's called a Blue Crusher." I was informed. "You drink the whole thing at once."

"Alrighty." I smiled and handed him my cigarette as I took ahold of the glass. "Bottoms up." I said, then tipped the glass and guzzled it down. Loving every moment.

[Argos Ewan]

As I looked around I saw and watched him from a distance downing a drink. It lookerd really strange to see him or anyone doing that. I looked down at my drink and held it up tot he lights. well I guess I might as well get my gills wet I took the glass and lifted it to my lips and raised it up and let all the liquid flow into my mouth from the glass. As I finished the glass I sat it down and looked back at the bartendar. "Ilp heb abuter bun plus."

The bartendar looked strangely at me and threw a rag in my face. "How about swallowing it buddy!"

I quickly swallowed and the drink burnt all the way down my throat. "Awwwwwwk Gods! That burns!" I took my hand and fanned my mouth as I pointed at he glass for a refill.

"Whatever buddy!" the bartendar replied.

I moved my lips to speak to him but the words wouldn't come out.

[Palleus]

I was ever so glad to arrive at the terminal on Iskalon and be off that airbus. It was just dusk as I made my way through the busy streets of Teness. I looked like a tourist and went off the main street to find a nice inn that I rented a room from and was soon out and about again. I didn't want to locate some tourist, I wanted a local to do my research project on as I began scanning the area for someone suitable.

I ended up at a small pub, that looked rather busy.

"Shade's Pub." I said outloud and smiled. I was not very tired at the time and knew that sooner or later it would hit. But, for now I was hungry and no place better, so I walked in. My attire was a dark sleeveless tunic and matching capris and sandles, the dark colors didn't make my pale skin drown me out.

I saw an array of beings as I found a table in the middle of the joint and took a seat. A waitress immediately walked over. "What can I get for ya?"

"Ummm," I looked around and saw a guy in the back drinking something blue. "I'll take one of those please and a chef salad with Ranch."

"Okay, be out in a sec."

I nodded and sighed, I was finally out on my own for the first time and it felt great.

[Argos Ewan]

As the barkeep brought me my drink I sipped on it and looked over the glass as I sipped it. My eye was taken by the beautiful creature sitting at a table by herself. She was so beautiful that I couldn’t drink anymore. This was a female I knew I just had to get to know. Something pulled at my heart and it felt like I had never felt before. I walked over to her table and began to get sweaty just looking at her. It was like I was being pulled to her.

As I approached her I looked around to see if maybe she was expecting someone. After all, I couldn’t see how anyone could let this creature in here by herself. As I looked around I didn’t see anyone approaching her or her looking for anyone.

I finally got so close to her table I felt a great desire to speak to her. “Excuse me. Are you from around here.” What a stupid question. I thought as I knew I was blushing. “I’m sorry, I suppose that sounded rude. Please forgive me.” Now embarrassed, I turned to walk away.

[Palleus]

The strange new voice caught me off guard as I looked up. "Huh?" I asked almost dumbfounded that anyone cared to speak to me withn the first five minutes of my arrival. I wondered if that were normal, I took note of it and it would be documented. I must've looked rather silly and my response embarrassed him, so he apologized and began to walk away.

I could tell by his dialect, this man was Iskalonian. "Oh, no...I'm not from here, I'm from Drexel II." I answered as mildly as I possibly could to break away from the pounding that I felt in my heart. The Iskalonian stopped in his tracks. He's actually talking to me and he's very handsome too. I'd never really allowed my thoughts to persist in this area of thought, so for the first time...it was somewhat invigorating. More notes to document, hmmm maybe once my project was complete I would present my findings to the Jedi Council for advice on my theories I had.

Being that I was no longer dressed in Jedi garb, this was the first time I'd been approached on a personal basis and I really didn't know how to react...there were no manuals explaining what one should do when approached in any of the Jedi Archives...perhaps, I should write one.

I'd kept my Inleshat accent and I made sure even as Palleus, I looked Inleshat. I felt the tips of my ears warm up and made a mental note of that. Five mintues into my research and I was getting all kinds of information on reaction, by just sitting here. I wondered deeply for a moment, what to do next...invite him to sit?

There was a long moment of awkward silence between us. "Ummm, now I'm being rude." I spoke with a shy smile. "Would you care to sit? Unless, you have other obligations."

The waitress returned with my drink and food and sat them down before me. "Thanks." I said as she nodded and walked off. I turned my attentions back to the man as he glanced towards the back of the bar to a rather roudy bunch and then back to me, as if he were trying to decide what to do.

"Ohh, are you with them?" I asked as I eyed the group who seemed to be getting louder as time went on, the man with the blue drink had just recieved another and the others were egging him on to shoot it down his throat.

I had to laugh as I watched this and the man again guzzled down the blue liquid.

[Jace Keller]

It was the best drink I'd ever had as I guzzled down the second glassful. "Wooo!" I yelled as I slammed the empty glass onto the table. I knew I would be slooshing around inside as my mates held up the second empty glass for a refill.

"Now, hold on!" I laughed as I looked around for my brother, he was no longer at the bar and that puzzled me.

My mates were hooting and hollering as some very pleasing females walked in and it was about that time that I noticed my brother...talking to a beautiful young Inleshat girl. "Hey, mates...look who's up there." I pointed to them as my glass was refilled and handed to me.

"Go, Argos!! You ole, Goat!!" Fritz called. "Show her the likes of a real Iskalonian!" The Iskalonian downed another shot of something and fell off his chair laughing as he pointed towards my brother.

"Shhh..." I said and slapped his arm. "This may be the one, Fritz and we don't need you messing it up for him. Besides, the music is about ready to play and a slew of females just came in." I nodded towards the bar. "Pretty ones."

The band was opposite the bar and as they began to play their strings, drums and whatnot, people began to sing to the old Iskalonian pub songs that everyone knew.

I took a seat and sang along with my friends as Fritz and Conner climbed on top our table and began dancing and old Iskalonian jig. They had a series of kicks and stomps and everyone was egging them on.

[Argos Ewan]

I listened as she invited me to join her. I turned my attention from my brother and looked at this beautiful female. As the noise got louder in the pub I turned and looked at her and spoke to her in a loud voice. “Yes, it isn’t every day I get to be with a beautiful female as yourself.” As I spoke to her I took a hold of a chair at her table as I looked down at the food she had ordered as the pub got even louder. “My name is Argos Ewan and it seems that it is getting very loud here! If I maybe so bold, may I have the pleasure of taking you some place that is a little quieter?! Perhaps even a walk along the waterfront?! Maybe a waterfront restaurant?!”

[Palleus]

I looked down at my plate of salad, then back up at this man as I nodded and put some credits on the table. Slowly, I grabbed the bag I had and stood.

"My name's Palleus." I told him as I headed towards the door.

[Argos Ewan]

As she began to walk toward the door I looked toward Jace to let him know I was leaving and saw he was having fun at the moment and decided to talk to him later.

As I turned back to Palleus I noticed that she had gotten ahead of me and I quickly moved to catch up to her. “Here let me get the door for you,” I told her as I got to the door before her. I swing the door open for her. I walked by her side and a slight breeze blew that sent her scent past me. I took the scent in and found it heavenly.

“Would you like to take a walk near the waterfront before we eat? I know just the perfect place we can go,” I suggested.

[Palleus]

It was nice to be out in the fresh air. "Sure, sounds nice." I said.

[Argos Ewan]

As I walked with Palleus, I walked her down to the waterfront where some children were fishing. As we walked I felt a cool breeze come up and I took off my jacket and put it around her. “There, that should keep you a little warmer.” After putting it around her I put my arm around her to help keep her warm and close to me. She felt warm to me and it helped to keep me warm too.

I pointed off in the distance, “look, some children have come to do some fishing.” I noticed one of the children and steered her toward the child.

As we approached the child, I stopped Palleus behind the child as I spoke to him. “Hello Serino. How is the fishing doing today.”

He looked up at me with sadness in his eyes. “Oh hello Mr. Ewan. It’s not doing very well. I’ve not caught anything all day.” He pointed down the beach. “I was thinking about trying to fish down there. Maybe I’ll have better luck.”

I looked at Serino and shook my head. “You know the waters down there are way to deep for you. Your dodya would be upset if he found you there.”

I looked at Palleus, “excuse me for a moment.”

I took my arm from around Palleus and knelt down by Serino and pointed down the beach in the other direction. “If you’ll go down there, you’ll find that the fishing in that area much better this time of day.”

Serino’s eyes lit up as he smiled at me. “May I Mr. Ewan.”

I stood up and placed my arm around Palleus as I looked at the child and nodded. “Yes, go right ahead. The waters are more shallow there and the fish love feeding there so your bound to catch something I‘m sure.”

Serino quickly stood up and gathered up his fishing equipment. “Gosh, thanks a lot Mr. Ewan.” he began to take off but stopped in front of Palleus and bowed to her. “M’lady.” He quickly took off and headed right where I told him to go.

I watched Serino as I put my arm around Palleus, “well he looks real happy. It makes me feels good to make children happy like that.”

[Palleus]

"You seem to be a natural with children, Mr. Ewan." I told him as I watched the children run to the other end of the beach.

[Argos Ewan]

"Please, call me Argos, and as far as children go, well I guess they are alright as long as they are someone elses child. Serino is the son of one of my families employees that works for us." I held out my arm and swung it across the landscape. "We own and run a fishary around here. We're one of the biggest around."

[Palleus]

"Impressive, you must be a very busy man for having such a corporation." I replied. "How long have you been open?"

[Argos Ewan]

"Well we've been," suddenly I heard a scream and quickly turned in the direction of the noise.

In the distance I saw Serino jumping up and down holding a big fish. "Yahoo! Wow! I caught one! A big one!"

I looked back at Palleus and smiled. "Well it looks like someone's luck has changed."

[Palleus]

I smiled as I saw the boy's excitement as I watched Argos. This man seemed warm and caring and for some strange reason, it sent a strange flutter in my stomach.

"Yes, so it would seem." I answered with a warm smile as I glanced out at the horizon to see the last of the sun dip into the sea. "Your system is very beautiful. Much like Drexel II."

[Argos Ewan]

I looked back at her and watched the setting sun hit off her eyes. This strange feeling. I’ve never felt this way before. It just felt so............ I walked slowly with her hoping to take all the time I could with her. Knowing I had only just met her, I still felt the deepest desire to spend all the time with her that I could. I couldn’t explain to myself why I felt this way, but it felt so right to be with her.

“Yes it is. You should be here during the equinox. It is a very warm time of the year.” I looked into her eyes again. “Don’t feel me to weird in saying this, but I couldn’t imagine either of our worlds being ever as beautiful as you. You are a very captivating person to say the least.”

[Palleus]

Never in my life had anyone said anything as precious as that. "Oh now, Argos, you give me too much credit." I felt my face flush as his words touched me deeply. "I'm sure that is place," I held my arms up to the area. "Is much more grand than I could ever be."

[Argos Ewan]

I suddenly felt something come over me that I couldn't resist. As she reached up I pulled her body close to mine and I lightly kissed her and looked into her eyes. "I think your entirely wrong. Nothing could compare to you. I'm sure of it."

[Palleus]

I was shocked as I looked into his eyes. I was sure that he could hear my heart pounding, I felt warm all over as never before. "I..." I didn't know what to say as I stared at him.

I suddenly became somewhat confused, this was going so fast. I pulled away, for fear of what could happen. I didn't understand these feelings, even though I read some things. Was this so unnatural for me...had I stepped too far out of my comfort zone? My breath seemed to get caught in my throat and I had to sit down, right then and there.

[Argos Ewan]

I watched as she began to sit down. I took her hands in mine and let her down gently and knelt down at her side and looked at her. "I'm sorry. I was out of line and shouldn't have done that. It's just that........it just felt so right. Please forgive me. If you like I can take you back to the pub if you wish."

[Palleus]

My knees had gone weak and I was rather embarrassed to have to sit down. I'd never been kissed by a man until that moment, other than my Master kissing me on the forehead. I mentally noted this reaction.

I shook my head. "I'm sorry, it's just...this is all new to me and uh...I just want to take things slow. I-I need too." I stammered a bit. "We don't need to go back to the pub just yet, I thought we were going to have dinner."

I looked at him and gave him a weak smile. "No harm down, Argos. I just don't want to rush this." At least not right now, I had four months to get my project underway and tonight had been a great start.

[Argos Ewan]

I looked at her and smiled lightly laughed as I took her hands and helped her up. "Well don't feel badly. This is my first time too. You've got to admit though, it was a good ice breaker and now that it is out of the way we can both relax now."

As she stood up I put my arm around her waist and motioned with my other arm pointing the way. "Shall we continue?"

[Palleus]

I smiled lightly. I was glad things were out in the open now. Well, with the exception of a few slight things on my behalf, but it would be fine. I was sure of it.

"We shall." I told him as I let him lead me one. "Is it true that Iskalonian's are darker haired than we light haired Inleshat's?"

[Argos Ewan]

As we walked I rubbed my chin. "Hummm, that is a hard one to answer. From what I know, I'd have to say not all but most. Why do you ask?"

[Palleus]

"Well, our schooling tells us that in the years of our forefathers, Inleshat and Iskalon were one in the same and they were once called Inskalui It wasn't until Baron Mass Heroi decided that the dark-hairs were different than that of the fair-hairs and he took a band of his followers to a neighboring sytem...that's now called Iskalon and they took the name as the name of their tribe. The King of Drexel II was outraged by this split and proclaimed his race of Inskalui as the Inleshat and supposedly that was how both races got their origins. I used to love to read the history on our two planets, how much in the same we actually are and yet seen so different."

[Argos Ewan]

I looked at her strangely. "So you think you and I are so different from each other because of the color of our hair?"

[Palleus]

"Personally? No, I still believe that all Inleshat and Iskalonians are the same, hair color or not. But, we are under rule of a king and you people rule your lands. It's just kind of silly how the history makes such a fuss over Inleshat and Iskalonians, like your blood is green and mine is yellow. Our worlds would still be one if there had been no jealous quarrel between King Ryathon and Baron Mass. How does the Iskalonian ways teach of the quarrel and the split?" I asked as we walked. I enjoyed talking and I already knew the answer, but it would give him a chance to say how he saw it.

I knew the history of both worlds, I was into anthropology of our races and that was what got me into the reasoning behind the thoughts of love. Baron Mass was in love with Queen Monia and plucked her right away from the king's arms. I didn't blame him, King Ryathon was not a good King and it had sparked the Great War of Kingdoms that lasted for over twelve years. The battles caused much damage to each side as it rallied on.

That was over two hundred years ago, and since the two worlds had created peace once again and promised to never battle over the love of a woman. The peace was blessed by the Gods and it was said that if war ever evoked again from the love of a woman, both clans would die.

[Argos Ewan]

As we walked I replied to her. “I can remember when I was raised Mumya and Dodya would speak of an older race of beings that on their world they had two races of beings. Both looked the same except for one difference. One was dark colored on the right side of their bodies and light colored on the left side. The other race was colored the complete opposite. One of them was of the higher society and the other dreamed of being the same way but were oppressed in remaining as they were by the other. After a long period of time wars broke out between them until they destroyed each other over each others hatred for the other. Their world died because of their hatred for each other. To believe that it all started simply because of their differences in color.”

I looked at her as I showed her where this was going. “I have been taught that external differences between people are not what is important in life. What is important is what we know ourselves to be and how we feel here.” I put my hand to her chest. “And how we feel here.” I placed my finger to her forehead. “If we feel well about ourselves inside then everything around us is a part of us. Do you understand what that means? It means that we‘re all the same inside no matter what we are compared to someone else's exterior.”

[Palleus]

"I understand you there, Argos. Our great race was split and it never should have been. Our King wants our people to know of the foolishness of King Ryathon and that what happened then will never happen again. How could this thing called love bring such hatred of a war? That is what I never understood."

[Argos Ewan]

As we walked, we had finally got to the restaurant I was taking her to along the waterfront as we talked. “The restaurant I was going to take you to is straight up ahead.” I pointed at the quaint building in the distance. “They play some soft music there and the decor is quite pleasant too. Nothing like the noisy pub we just came from. I wouldn’t have been there if it weren’t for my brother which was celebrating his birthday there. I‘m glad I was there though. Otherwise I wouldn‘t have met you.”

I looked at her after thinking for a second. “What were we talking about?” Quickly the conversation came back to me. “Oh yes, love. Well I’ve never completely understood how people could be like that either, but I do know that greed or madness can do that to a person. Some people can’t see beyond their own ambitions and often let it drive them I suppose. The only thing I can say is that I’m glad I’ve never been like that. To have to live like that would be madness compared to how I am or believe. I guess most of it is in how your raised I suppose. But then on the other hand I guess we all have that within us. I’m sure ones environment could have something to do with that too.”

As we approached the dinner I opened the door for her to let her in before me. As we walked in a waiter came toward me as I took my jacket off of Palleus. “Good evening Master Ewan,” the waited said as he greeted us with a smile.

“Hello Jaruis,” I replied. “I would like a seat for the two of us please. Some place secluded for privacy.” I pointed across the dinner to a table off in a corner. “How about that table over there? The one by the window.”

“Ah yes,” Jaruis replied. “Please follow me Sir.”

I looked at Palleus and held out my hand to urge her on. As she walked in front of me, Jaruis walked to the table and pulled the chair out for her. I looked at him and dismissed him. “I’ve got it Jaruis.”

He looked at me and replied as he stepped back from the chair. “Very well Sir. I will have the waitress return when you are ready.”

I had been here before and knew exactly how to proceed. I took a hold of the chair and pulled it out for Palleus. “Thank you Jaruis. That will be fine.”

As Palleus took the seat I offered I lightly and slightly pushed it forward for her. I walked around the table and sat down in the chair across from her. Upon the table sat a couple of menus that Jaruis had left for us. In the center of the table burnt an aromatic candle that carried the sweet fragrance of the sea. I took one of the menus and handed it to her. “Here you go. You may order anything you wish.”

As we sat down a mystro came out and stood a couple of tables away from our table and began to play soft luring music upon a balaset.

[Palleus]

I smiled shyly as he sat across from me. This place was very expensive looking, but as coming from a Jedi background, I'd been in places such as this and knew the ettique. Master Sol had taught me the ettique of eating in places restuarants such as this one to grand palaces.

"Thank you." I replied as I took the menu. I began scanning the entre's as I looked up. "So, you come here alot? It's very nice."

[Argos Ewan]

“I come here every now and then. It is one of the three restaurants my family owns. This one is the oldest. Usually Mumya and Dodya want me to come here to check up on how this place and the customers are being taken care of. We have always insisted that the quality of everything here be nothing but second to none.” I slightly lifted my hand to summon the waitress.

The waitress came to the table and slightly bowed to Palleus and myself. “Good evening, have you decided on something that you wish?”

“Actually no. However, I would like to share something with the lady. If you will, please bring us a bottle of the Zarmin’domaz.” I thought for a moment and then continued. “If you will, please bring us the one hundred and thirty cycle aged. I would like it chilled and opened only after chilling and please allow it to breathe for ten minutes before serving it to us.”

“Very good,” she replied. “I will have that brought up right away. You are very lucky, we only have two of those left.” She bowed and turned away to go fill the order.

I nodded my head before she walked away. After she did I looked at Palleus again. “I hope you don’t mind me ordering this. I think you’ll really like it. It is a rare vintage and you should find it quite appealing to your palette along with your dinner. If you can’t decide on what to order for your meal, I would be more than happy to order for you if you wish. I know some of the foods may not be anything your used to or have never had before. In that, I can help you if you wish.”

[Palleus]

"Maybe that would be best, I'm not entirely sure of your cousine here. I just don't like things too spicy, if you would please." I said smiling, waiting to see just what he would order.

[Argos Ewan]

“Nothing spicy; I got ya. That’s not a problem.” I took her menu and placed it with mine and placed them neatly onto the table beside me. “If I am right, I believe you’ll be in for a treat. Something not to robust but yet flavorful. I think what I ordered to drink will help that along too.”

I placed my hands upon the table and clasped my hands together. “So tell me, did you take a private transport here or a commercial flight?”

[Palleus]

"A commercial flight and it was really quite...horrible." I answered as I shook my head. "A twenty-four hour trip in coach."

[Argos Ewan]

"Ahh, that is a long time to travel. Didn't the flight go smoothly? I've never been on one of those flights before."

[Palleus]

"Trust me, you don't want to be on one. It went smoothly enough, it was just packed full and my neighbor kept me up most of the flight talking about her male endeavors and such."

[Argos Ewan]

As Palleus spoke to me the waitress came to our table and placed two wine glasses in front of each of us. She calmly waited until Palleus finished speaking and looked at me. “Sir, M‘lady, please forgive my interruption. We have the bottles chilling right now and will be done in about fifteen minutes after breathing. Is there anything you wish to order for your first coarse.”

“Yes,” I replied. In fact I will order the complete meal right now. You may serve each coarse when they are needed. To begin with I’d like to order some Ritsome’ for an appetizer. Also have that prepared in Farnin oil. Bring it up to ten degrees over body temperature and serve that on a chilled dish. For a salad, I wish to have the Barden Lot greens with Apern slices.” I thought for a moment and remembered seeing Palleus’s salad at he pub with the Ranch dressing. “I believe the lady will have the Ranch sauce and I will have the Apern sauce. For our main coarse I would like for us to have some Furnitanse. Not those brought from Astril but those caught from our own farms. With that I’d like to have the Ramindur greens with the Dortinsa sauce. A Motrien vegetable with Arnf butter. For desert we’ll have the Sonami Iced with Sontah cream with warm Hurn.”

The waitress looked at Palleus and smiled. “You are in for quite a treat M’lady.”

The waitress looked at her timepiece and looked at me. “I will have your vintage here in a moment.”

“Thank you,” I replied as I lifted my left hand to dismiss her.

I looked back at Palleus as I picked the conversation up where we left off. “I’ve heard of such flights and how they can be like that.” I smiled at her and lightly laughed. “I couldn’t imagine having to listen to other peoples problems like that. Well, unless it were yours. I could listen to you all night and I just might at that if that is alright with you." I reached across the table and took Palleus's hands into mine. "I couldn't think of more beautiful company that I could possibly be in than yours.”

[Palleus]

I blushed as I smiled. "Well, I'm afraid theirs not much to tell about my life or problems and my family doesn't own a fishery or resturants...so I'm afraid, I'm probably kind of boring to what you're used too." I replied. It was all quite true coming from a Jedi's point of view.

[Argos Ewan]

I leaned back into my chair as I released her hands as I got the look of surprise in my eyes as I raised an eyebrow. “Now I can’t imagine that. I can’t but help but to feel a warmth from you I have never experienced before. Because of that I am so drawn to you. Your much like a breath of fresh air to me. I can’t remember the last....”

I broke off the conversation to keep it private as the waitress approached our table with a bottle. “Ahh, it is time for the Zarmin’domaz. I think your going to enjoy this.” The waitress poured the wine into one of Palleus’s glasses as I spoke to her. “When she finishes pouring this, don’t drink it before I demonstrate how to proceed with the drink.”

As I spoke the waitress finished pouring Palleus’s drink and then proceeded with mine. Once she finished pouring, the waitress stepped back and placed two towels over her left arm.

I pulled my glass near me and looked at Palleus. “Here is how you drink this. First of all when it is prepared you don’t drink it, you sip it casually. Before you begin that you must prep your taste.” I picked up the empty glass in front of me and placed it toward my lips. “First of all, you will take the wine and sip from the glass and fill your mouth about one third full.” I tipped the glass as if to drink from it and then placed the glass down on the table. “Once you have it in your mouth, press your tongue against the roof of you mouth and pull it back down and do that twice and don’t swallow.” I picked the empty glass up again. “Once you have done that , you pick up the empty glass and spit the wine from your mouth.” I brought the empty glass to my lips and acted as if to spit the wine from my mouth. The waitress stepped forward and handed me a towel. “Then the waitress will hand you a towel and you wipe your lips with it.” I took the towel and wiped my lips with it. “Now you wait one minute and then you can sip the wine freely.” I handed the towel back to the waitress. “I realize this does look undignified but trust me, it is quite acceptable. In doing this what it does is release the flavor buds in your mouth and allows you to wash your mouth completely leaving your mouth completely open to accept the flavors your about to experience in the following meal I ordered for us.”

I looked at her closely to see her response. “Here, I will go first so you may see how it is done.” I lifted my partially filled glass and put it to my lips and slowly sipped from the glass. After the wine passed through my lips I tipped the glass back down and placed it upon the table. Slowly I washed my mouth out like I described to her and picked up the empty glass and spit the fluid out in the glass as the waitress approached the table once more and handed me my towel. I sat the glass down and placed the towel to my lips and wiped them and handed the towel back to the waitress as she took my glass from the table. “There, that is all there is to it and now I am ready to enjoy our meal much better.” I moved my tongue around in my mouth and across my teeth as I could now feel the difference in my mouth and smiled at Palleus.

I motioned with my hands to encourage Palleus to do the same. “It is fine. Go ahead, you’ll enjoy it.”

[Palleus]

Being a Jedi by nature, I'd seen many different ways people expressed their eating habits, this was one that was quite unique. I'd never done anything like this, as far as that went I'd never even had an alcoholic drink before. My master had never allowed me and I never disobeyed him...until now.

I sat back as I watched him take in the drink and then spit it back out into the empty glass. When he was done, he urged me to do the same.

I nodded in compliance and took the glass into my hands as delicately as a rose stem. Gracefully, I placed the glass to my lips and took in the fluid and did exactly as he instructed and a moment later...spit the remains into my empty glass and wiped my mouth. I smiled. "Very interesting drink, Argos and it was good." I said as the waitress took my used glass away. "I've never had anything like that."

[Argos Ewan]

I smiled at her as another waitress approached the table and I saw what she was bringing. “Well then this should be a pleasant surprise to then.” I held my hand up toward Palleus. “Now don’t be shocked at what your about to see. It’s not alive.”

The waitress sat down a chilled plate of Ritsome’ in the center of our table and sat a smaller plate on front of both of us along with eating utensils. “This is our appetizer and is Ritsome’. It is a cooked Frill that is cooked in vanilla oil and the chilled plate makes the Frill constantly move from the oil it is cooked in. It continually slides in the chilled dish. Not only is it fun to eat but also very nutritious too. Please, try some. Once you do, please try the wine again and you'll see the flavor pop for you.”

I watched to see how she would handle eating the Frill.

[Palleus]

I stared at the moving carcass in front of me and raised an eyebrow. Now, I'd seen some pretty strange things in the past, but this took the cake.

Don't turn your nose up to it, until you've at least had a bite, Quay'Na. This is how you must learn to step outside your comfort zone and try new things...My Master Sol had told me time and time again.

I wasn't entirely sure if I could eat this moving thing in front of me or not. It almost seemed grisly. But, not to try it I'm sure would be considered rude and I'd already taken more time that I'm sure I should have.

"Well, ummm....this looks very interesting...but, I'm afraid I'm not entirely sure how to eat it." I was being truthful.

[Argos Ewan]

I laughed at her as I saw the look on her face. "What's wrong? Does it make you feel insecure? Unsure of yourself?" As I looked at her I could still se the confussed expression on her face. To help make her feel comfortable I made her an offer to help her. "Here, I’ll show you how to eat it.”

I picked up my fork and leaned toward the center of the table to get a better view of the dish. As I watched it I saw one portion of it move toward one side of the dish and I cut it off and slid it onto my fork and placed it in my mouth. Once there, I chewed it and the swallowed it and took a sip of the wine. I wiped my mouth and looked over at Palleus. “Here, I will show you that again."

I picked up my fork and leaned toward the center of the table to get a better view of the dish again. As I watched it I saw one portion of it move toward one side of the dish and I cut it off and slid it onto my fork once more. This time I took up a small personal table linen napkin and held the fork over it. I reached across the table to allow her to eat of the portion I had got for her. Once she took it in her mouth I drew my hands back from across the table. "Alright, now take a sip of the wine after you have swallowed the Frill. It helps to enhance the flavor of it.”

[Palleus]

I nodded and did as he instructed. I was amazed and smiled once I finished the drink. "Truly amazing." I replied as I wiped my mouth.

[Argos Ewan]

I reached over and had another bite of the dish as I continued. "Anyway, back to what I was saying before. I am very drawn to you. I've truly never felt like this before." I took a bite and then took a sip of the wine and smiled at her.

I sat my fork down and kept my glass of wine in hand and continued to look at her. "Have you ever had a point in time in your life where something just clicked and felt right?" I sat my glass back down and leaned back in my chair. "I mean, surely you have a man waiting for you back home. I couldn't imagine you not having someone waiting for your return."

[Palleus]

I blushed as I took another sip of my drink. "Well, I am not taken, if that is what you are referring too." I watched to see his reaction.

[Argos Ewan]

“That is remarkable,” I said to her in a calming voice. “I just don’t understand how any beautiful creature like you could be overlooked like that.” I shook my head as I looked at her. “Personally, I’d never let you out of my sight, but then that is just me I suppose.”

[Palleus]

Interesting come back. I thought. "I think, one would not get anything done if they were constantly watching someone. Why would you do that?" I wasn't to sure if I'd like that. It was enough when I knew my Master was keeping a close eye on me.

[Argos Ewan]

I looked at her and laughed. “I didn’t mean that literally. It was just a figure of speech.”

As I laughed the waitress came out with out salads and placed them before us. “Ah good, our first coarse. This looked very good. Please feel free to begin any time you wish. Our main coarse will be quite a few minutes.” I watched her to see if the salad appealed to her or not.

[Palleus]

The salad looked excellent as I picked up my fork and began eating. "Very good." I said after my first bite. "My Master likes..." I stopped short once I realized what it was I had just said. "...I mean, my boss...he watches over me a lot."

[Argos Ewan]

As I began to place my fork into the salad I hear her words but they struck strangely to me as I raised an eyebrow to her as I looked at her. “Wait a minute, you said my master. I distinctively heard you say that. When you said it you said it as if it were common place for you to speak it.” I took my hand from the fork and put my hands together and rested them on the table. “What are you not telling me?”

[Palleus]

I placed my fork down neatly on the table as I heard him speak. Busted! I had to think quickly and I had to get him off the subject. I took the comment somewhat defensively, but I let it pass...but, he didn't have to know that.

"There's nothing to tell, Argos." I said, pointedly. "We are but strangers having dinner and I believe, I've overspent my welcome." I scooted my chair back. "Thank you for the food and the drink and good evening." I got up and headed for the door, this was not part of the plan, major slip of the tongue on my part. The next one, I'd be more careful with. Still, I did get some good reactions and it wasn't a complete loss.

[Argos Ewan]

I watched as she began to slide her chair out and sat shocked that she would leave like this. “What.....Wait,” I said. It was to late though. She was now heading toward the door. I quickly got up from my chair and ran past the waitress as she was heading toward our table with the main coarse.

“Palleus, please don’t go.” I caught up with her before she got to the door. “Wait, hold it. Come on, hold up.” I walked between the door and her to stop her.

“Why are you leaving? It was a simple question, that is all.” I gently put my hand on her arm to have her look toward me. “Please, come back to the table. We were having such a good time and I went and ruined it. Will you please forgive me. You don’t have to speak about this if you don’t want to. I just don’t want you to leave though. I‘ll tell you what. We'll not speak any further of this unless you want to.” I turned my head sideways slightly. “Please?”

[Palleus]

I sighed as I looked at him. "Very well, it's just something I'd rather not discuss." I allowed him to lead me back to the table and took my seat again.

[Argos Ewan]

I pulled the chair out for her and she sat back down. “Well, I’m glad you changed your mind but I really wished you’d said you didn’t want to speak about it. We could have just dropped it.” I walked around the table and sat down myself.

I saw that the waitress had left our main coarse here for us and left the salads too. “Well it looks as though our main coarse is ready. If you don’t want your salad, just push it aside.” I pushed mine aside to show her that it was alright. “I think you’ll really like the main coarse. The flavors and very nice. Please, eat anything you wish of it.”

[Palleus]

I wasn't a real big eater, in fact I didn't eat much at all and this meal was way beyond what I normally took in all day. Master Sol was always after me for that, but I just was never very hungry.

I nodded and took a couple of bites of meat, it looked pretty good and then I took something that resembled a small potato. "It looks really good." I told him to ease some of the tension between us.

[Argos Ewan]

I took a bite of my steak, but for some reason the food just didn’t seem to appeal to me anymore after the trouble we just had. It left me uneasy and unsure of how I could proceed if we were to at all. I watched as she ate and ate very little if much at all. “You don’t seem very hungry,” I said as I sat my flatware down on the table. “Are you alright?”

[Palleus]

I could tell he was still disturbed. "I'm fine, I'm not a big eater and this meal has been more than I eat in an entire day. I really appreciate you giving me this luxury though." I said to ease him.

[Argos Ewan]

I stood up and walked around the table and held my left hand out to her as I smiled at her. "Well I've had enough of this too. How about we go for a walk. There is someplace I like to take you. That is if you wish."

[Palleus]

"Sure," I acknowledged with a gentle nod. I took his hand and allowed him to lead me out the door into the moonlit night. "It's gorgeous here." I said as I took in a deep breath of the ocean air. "It reminds me a lot of Drexel II, have you ever been there?"

[Argos Ewan]

I looked into her eyes and the stars danced upon them. "No, I've never been there. We've done some business there though, but that was rare. Please, tell me of your homeworld Palleus." I listened and gave her my undivided attention.

[Palleus]

I had not been home in years. But, he did not have to know that.

"Well, we are ruled by a grand King, Tenikan Qui-don and he actually cares about his people. We don't have many land regions like this one, our land regions are small. But we have ocean cities above and below the water levels. I live inland, where we have beautiful lagoons and waterfalls. People there help each other and no one goes hungry or homeless. Our region is very giving, and we work very well together."

[Argos Ewan]

As I listened to her a woman from a nearby shop came up to us and smiled as she carried a large basket of flowers. “Would you like some flowers for the lady Sir,” she politely asked.

I looked at Palleus and then looked at the flowers and then back and forth a couple of times. “Yes,” I replied. “I believe the Starlaces would fit the lady’s eyes perfectly don’t you,” I asked the lady.

She looked at Palleus and smiled as she drew out one dozen of the flowers and held them up to Palleus. “I think it is a perfect choice sir.”

I took the flowers from the lady as they sparkled and handed them to Palleus and handed the flower lady some credits to pay for them. “Thank you very much.”

I looked at Palleus and smiled at her as I put my arm around her waist “I think she was absolutely correct. They do fit your eyes. Even though they could never sparkle like your eyes I am sure they are about the only thing that could ever come that close to them.”

[Palleus]

I blushed as he said these things to me. I smiled as he spoke to the flower lady. I'd read some data discs in the local library in Coruscant on some actions of love and remembered reading that during courtship, as they called it the male often gave flowers, presents or small tokens of friendship to express emotions. These were the first flowers I'd ever received. I noted my own reaction and this would be logged in my research.

I felt a deeper warmth as he gently placed his arm around my waist. It was strange, but I didn't resist. I wanted to see just what was going to happen next. "Thank you," I smiled as I took the flowers with a deep smile.

[Argos Ewan]

As I looked at Palleus I removed my arm from around her waist and I took one of the flowers from her and handed it back to the flower woman. "M'lady, here. This one is from us. May life bring you much joy as you have given us."

The flower woman slowly took the flower and smiled at both of us and put an arm around Palleus's neck and drew herself closer to her and whispered into her ear. "You hold onto this man. You don't find many like this. It is very rare." She backed away from Palleus and bowed to both of us. "I wish you both well too." She turned and walked away from us.

As she walked away I looked at Palleus as I put my arm around her waist and began to walk with her. "I heard what she told you," I said to her. "It does sadden me that many people fail to know how to touch one another. It is so little to do and yet says so much. Even sadder is the fact that many who are treated in this fashion even fail to know what it means. Much less know how to embrace that moment in their lifes. To me that is very sad."

[Palleus]

I kept my distance, for I knew that if I allowed myself to get too far swayed, it would destroy any chance I had at getting sufficient research.

I wiggled from his arms and turned around to face him, I stood a foot away from him. "Well, that sounds most interesting, Argos. You've sparked my curiosity, please tell me more about this 'fashion' you are talking about and what you mean. I don't quite understand your concept."

[Argos Ewan]

I noted her response to my words and placed my hands behind my back together as I continued to walk toward the waterfront as I looked off in the distance. “Well it is only a figure of speech when I speak of fashion. It is mainly to mean the way in which someone acts toward another. Some people just don’t seem to be able to know that they could be better to each other than they are. I guess to mean that they could have been a much better person than they are, that is all. If you feel threatened by me by what I say, I assure you, it is quite unintentional.”

[Palleus]

I smiled lightly. "Oh, well it's just that I'm not very used to talking this way with a man. As I said before I'm quite new to all this and want to take things slow...that is, if there is something to take." I blushed and looked away.

[Argos Ewan]

I stepped toward the waterfront and looked back at her as I snapped my fingers on my right hand. “What was I thinking?” I walked toward her and walked around her to face her. “I just got an idea. I’m sure your going to be here for some time and tomorrow is my brother Jace’s birthday and we’re having a luxurious party for him. In fact he was in the pub celebrating when you walked in. As our newest visitor, I would find it a great pleasure to have you join us. Will you please allow me the honor of having you there, M‘lady,” I asked as I bowed to her.

[Avalon Aquilo]

It was a cool evening and the school I had been going to was out for the week so I felt it time to let my hair down and go relax at the Shade's Pub. Study time was over and now it was time to have some fun. As I entered the pub I saw Jace sitting among some friends and ejoying himself. I knew him well enough to know that this was his birthday and that was probably why he was here, celebrating.

I walked the long way around him so he wouldn't see me and then walked up behind him. As I did, the other guys he was with took notice of me. As I stood behind Jace I leaned over and whispered to him. "Happy birthday Jace. Looks like your getting pretty old to me."

[Palleus]

I giggled as I felt my face get warm when he bowed to me. I've never been bowed to except when I was with my Master, and they were more or less bowing to him. It felt strange and for some reason...I felt giddy.

"I would love to join you, kind Sir. But...I don't have anything to wear or the means of getting anything that extravagant...and I don 't want to embarrass you in front of your friends and family." I told him kindly and looked at the ground. Jedi didn't need credits very often and we certainly didn't dress in the way he was talking.

[Argos Ewan]

“Well I understand. When going on a trip like this, one can’t always plan on everything. So why don’t I take you shopping and we’ll get what you need. I’ll even pay for it seeing it is my brother’s event that your going to. Would you like that or is that to forward of me to ask,” I asked her.

[Palleus]

I did want to attend this function and it would be a whole new role for me. For the first time I was attending a function where I would not be on the sidelines watching over things. I was going to be right in the middle of it all and it sounded quite exilerating.

"I wouldn't be offended at all, in fact I would be rather grateful for the offer." I said with a kind smile.

[Argos Ewan]

I looked at her with surprise that she accepted my offer. “Excellent then. Why don’t we see if we can find something for you right now? I know of several shops nearby and I have one in mind I think will suit you quite well. Would you like to go there now?”

[Jace Keller]

It was a cool evening and the school I had been going to was out for the week so I felt it time to let my hair down and go relax at the Shade's Pub. Study time was over and now it was time to have some fun. As I entered the pub I saw Jace sitting among some friends and ejoying himself. I knew him well enough to know that this was his birthday and that was probably why he was here, celebrating.

I walked the long way around him so he wouldn't see me and then walked up behind him. As I did, the other guys he was with took notice of me. As I stood behind Jace I leaned over and whispered to him. "Happy birthday Jace. Looks like your getting pretty old to me."

I nearly fell off my chair as I heard that familiar whisper in my ear. "Hey, been a while, Avalon. How ya been?" I asked as I motioned for her to take a seat. The band was taking a break, so at least we could hear each other. One of the guys set down another blaster in front of me. "Want to try this?" I asked with a grin. "It's really good."

I reached over and slammed my fist down on the table and the glass jumped from the top of the table and I clutched it in mid-air and downed the drink. Once I finished I slammed the drink down and looked at Jace. “It’s a little weak for my taste but not bad.” I took him by the collar and pulled him toward me and kissed him and held the kiss.

The guys around the table applauded and yelled. “Whoa Jace! Yeah, go for it!“

I pushed Jace away from me. “I think that is much better than any drink I could have. But, if you want more of that you know where I am.” I walked away from him to see if he had any ideas on him mind.

I could hear the guys behind me speak to Jace. “What are you doing? Don’t let that one get away Jace! Go for it!”

I heard the table chair fall to the floor and I smiled as I continued to walk as I quickly weaved my way through and out of the bar.

[Jace Keller]

I downed another drink, before I was urged to follow this foxy lady outside. I took a draw on the cigarette I had and headed out the door. I hiccuped as I felt the cool night air and saw Avalon crossing the street.

"Avalon, hold up!" I called as I quickly made my way across the street to her. "Come back and join us, it's not a party without you, my foxy lady."

As he followed me I slipped into a nearby alley and waited for him. When he came up to me I took him by the collar and spun him around and pushed him against a wall and kissed him intently. As I kissed him I pulled at his tunic to bare his muscular shoulder. I held him close and began kissing him on his neck as I spoke to him. “Why not .....come ...home with....me. I’m sure... we’ll have more ...fun there. I want ..... want you.”

[Jace Keller]

Avalon always seemed to know exactly what she wanted and it was obviously me at this moment. "I can't...my brother is expecting me at...the pub." I pulled back from her for an instant. "Whoa, there...let's not get too carried away." I straightened my shirt. "What's up with you? We've not seen each other in years and I'm not one to jump in the sack...you should know that of all people."

Of course, I could be like that, but I had been raised in the old fashioned way and yes, I had been with women in my years, but there is a time when you have to become responsible for your actions and I was in no mood to become a father just yet.

I looked at him strangely and was confused by his words. I had never known him to turn me down before even if it had been some time since seeing him last. “Oh, I’m sorry. I guess there must be some woman involved. I should have known I guess. I never thought you would just forget me though and shut me out. I thought we had more than that. It‘s just that I‘ve been away at school studying to be a Doctor, but I didn‘t think it had been so long that you‘d forget me. Was I wrong?”

[Jace Keller]

I took ahold of her hand and shook my head. "No, of course I've not forgotten you, it's just I'm getting older and sometimes one has to be a bit more responsible." That wasn't entirely true, but it sounded good.

I looked at Jace and suddenly busted out laughing. "Oh Jace come on. How stupid do you think I am? Like I'm getting younger as you get older. Geeeeeesh, give me a break." I shook my finger at him. "You know good and well age was never a problem between us and never will be." I stepped back toward him and put my chest against his. "Now, tell me what the real problem is."

[Jace Keller]

I winced a bit as she laughed at me. "I'm...purging..." I finally said and gave a cough to try to cover up my embarassment. Sperm purging was a normal part of life for male Iskalonians and Inleshat, after the age of one hundred and could last for the next three hundred years. I didn't like it because I wasn't quite used to it still. It was like clockwork, every month and when it happened, if you were mating with a female this was the main time to impregnat. I on the other hand, had no intentions of doing that. So, I merely cut myself off from women during this time. I sighed and looked at the ground, fully aware that she was staring at me and was probably about to burst out laughing at me again.

Purging lasted four days and it was only my second...I was condemned...and it was hell, because I had this beautiful woman in front of me.

I looked at Jace and smiled at him and jumped up as I threw my arms and legs around him. “What did I just tell you? I said I had been studying to be a doctor and I know exactly what you mean and how to take care of that. So what are you worried about now?”

[Jace Keller]

A smile slowly came over my features as she understood what I was going through. "Really? I just don't want to get you pregnant." I told her. She made me feel better about the situation at hand.

I gave her a devish grin and kissed her.

As he embraced me and kissed me my legs fell to the ground as I melted in his arms. As our lips parted and I placed my forehead to his and smiled at him. "Your not going to get me pregnant, I promise and you know I've never lied to you. I know exacly how to prevent that from happening and you don't have to do anything to stop it. I can do that by myself. Now.....what do you want to do?"

I didn't even have to answer as I scooped her up into my arms. "Let's find your dorm." I smiled as I began to carry her off. "We've got some celebrating to do, and then we can come back."

I put my arms around his neck as he carried me away to my dorm room. After pointing him to the room he took me into my room and lay me upon the bed after locking the door behind us. As he lay on the bed next to me I pulled his body close to mine and shyly spoke to him. "Jace I want you to know, I want you right now and I know you will leave me, but I don't want you to. Something in my heart holds you to me and leaves me empty every time I am without you. I'm sorry but I can't help myself, these feelings." I pulled him even tighter to me. "Hold me Jace. Hold me like your never going to leave me. Even if it is just for this moment. Give me something to carry with me when you are gone from me."

I walked with a limp and a cane through the busy streets of my homelands. The steel brace that fit snug around my right leg from my foot to my thigh, clicked with every step. As I walked I noticed that the city grew bigger every year that I returned. Things change, people change and I was hoping that just possibly my family would look upon me with something other than shame and disgrace. It had been seven years, since I'd seen my parents. But, my Dodya would see me as a threat...and I was.

I missed my twin, and he had never turned his back on me for anything I did. I took a lot of pride in the family fishing business as a head accountant and due to a rather meticulas downfall with my Dodya. After my own investigation on my Dodya's secret files I'd been falsely accused, arrested and sent to prison for embezzlement. My Dodya was behind the accusations all the way, causing my family to turn their backs on me.

All, but my twin brother seemed to hate me. Jace was always there and when he needed me I was there for him and tonight was the one night we always saw each other...at Shade's Pub. We met every year on our birthday even though I was not really supposed to be here. But, tonight there was no exception, I entered the pub and went to the bar as I didn't see him yet, but the night was young and he would show, he always did.

With a brandy, I sat at the bar waiting to see my twin, but not really wanting to see the hint of concern on his face once he saw my leg. I shook my head and sipped my brandy, it felt good to be home for a change, even if it wasn't really my home anymore.

[Argos Ewan]

I had taken Palleus shopping and took her back to the Inn where she was staying. Once done I went back tot he Pub to meet back up with Jace to help him celebrate his birthday.

As I entered I saw that Jericho had appeared. Wondering why he had even showed himself now was something that irritated me very much. I walked up behind him and lifted my finger to the bartender to order my usual drink that I ordered when I came here. As the bartender brought my drink I reached past my brother and brushed him with my arm to get my drink. “So why are you here now? Did you run out of ships to rob? I really don‘t know why you‘d feel that you were any more welcome here than you were the last time you were here.”

[Jericho Ewan]

I grin hit my lips as I heard that very familiar voice echo in my ears. "Well, if it isn't the saint of the family. Hello, Argos...surprised to see you out and about in such a lowlife territory. What brings you to this side of the river?" My voice was smug as normal when it came to my eldest brother, we'd gotten along fairly well until I was known as the black sheep of the famous Ewan family tree. Now, I was lucky to get as much as a nod from him, but I didn't care for his types, he thought he was so good and dutiful. Just like my old man, who could do no wrong. The thought made me sick, as if he'd never done anything against the laws of the Union.

"Still up there with Dodya, huh? Making your millions?" I asked as I raised an eyebrow. These days, I knew how to run an operation and was making a good amount of credit.

[Argos Ewan]

I had little or no respect for my brother and refused to give him any quarter for how he turned his back on the family. Respect of family never seemed to be his better suit to me and I owed him little if anything at all in return. “Well I guess an honest and respectful living is something you’ve never come to embrace and probably never will from what I see. That is just as well as far as I am concerned. Mainly because I don’t think there is much room for the likes of you anyway.”

[Jericho Ewan]

"You were always Dodya's favorite, I feel sorry for my twin who has to live in your shadow, he never had a chance and one day he'll realize that and he'll break free just as I have. It's closer than you think, big brother." I said as I looked at him.

"You think you have it all, well you have a little bit of nothing. I may have become what I have, but at least I have something that I can call my own. What do you have?"

[Argos Ewan]

“Oh up your postule! Who in the frell do you think you are,” I asked as I pointed my finger at him. “I’ve got what I’ve got and have earned it and it is mine. Not something I stole from someone else. At lesast what I have I‘ve come into it honestly.”

[Jericho Ewan]

I grinned smuggly at him, I knew exactly how to get him flustered. "Oh, brother you've got a lot to learn, but I take pride in that...one can always learn from ones mistakes. Besides, what I do is not to just aid myself with credit, but it does come in handy. My job entitles me to help where there is no help. Do you realize that I got medical supplies to a region in war, where children would have died had I not done what I did? But, you don't see the honor in that. I and my crew saved a slue of children a month ago from a planet that was enslaving their own...no we don't look at that. I do missions for those who are overlooked, did you know that? No, why? Because I've been marked and no one wants anything to do with one that's been marked." I tipped my glass to my lips and drank the entire thing.

"I do enjoy what I do, Argos because it's not all about me. It's about doing the rightful thing in the right times, but you don't see that, do you?"

[Argos Ewan]

“Phaaaaaaaa! Like others can’t be or aren’t helped by the honest companies in the universe.” I sarcastically patted him on the shoulder as I shook my head as I walked by him. “Well good for you. Maybe that‘ll help feed the many children that you‘ve stolen the money from to support your cause.”

[Jericho Ewan]

I turned and stood, then limped behind him. "How many charities have you supported this year, Argos? But, wait you don't have to tell me, I already know from Jace...a big fat zero. He's told me how he's gone to Dodya for charity funding and no one will even listen. It's people like you that cause people like me to be needed! You people are pathetic and you say I'm bad...you are just a bunch of hypocrites!" I turned back around and went back to my place at the bar and ordered another brandy.

My blood now began to boil and had just about enough of this. I got up from my table and went to the bar. Once at the bar I took a hold of Jericho by the shoulder and turned him around and backed him against the bar and got into his face. “Don’t give me your better than anyone else attitude. You wouldn’t know an honest job if it were handed to you. The likes of you only feed on the weak and helpless because they don’t know you any better, but I’m sure they find that out pretty quickly, sooner or later. So don’t give me your holier than thou attitude because I’m not buying it!”

"There ya go, saying how mighty and honorable you are. I know different, you are nothing but spoiled rich brat, who has nothing better to do than critize others. One day brother, you'll go down a similiar road and you'll be the one asking for my help. Then, we'll see where ones loyalties lie."

"That my brother would be a cold day in frell if that were to ever happen. That I promise you." I turned away and went back to my table and sat down at it as everyone looked on.

[Jace Keller]

I entered the establishment in hopes of seeing the very person I could well indeed 'feel' and I was right...Jericho was here. A bright smile came over me as I went up to him.

I'd left Avalon to her dorm and had told her I was expecting my brother to come and had to return.

I clapped him on the back. "Well, ya old bag of bones, how ya been?" I laughed as he gave me that smug smile of his and motioned for me to sit.

"Well, looks like you're doing well." I told him as he laughed slightly, but there was something holding him back. "What is it?" I asked curiously.

He nodded towards the back of the bar. "Someone else showed up..."

I looked behind him and caught eyes with Argos as he stood and and walked towards me. I grimaced inwardly, after all Argos had no idea that I'd had been coercing with the enemy...my twin. But, I never saw it that way, he was my twin, first, last and always.

[Argos Ewan]

As I drank from my glass the guys with Jace’s party yelled to me. “Hey boss, the party is over here come and join us!”

I stood up and slid my chair out and walked toward Jace and Jericho and stood between Jace and Jericho with my back to Jericho and smiled at Jace. “Well it looks like the boys are missing you and I and we should go and join them. I think there are just a couple of seats left there.”

[Jace Keller]

I felt torn on what I wanted to do and what I needed to do. I wanted to share this birthday with my brother, but Argos would not hear of it I was sure. I nodded as I looked at my twin.

[Jericho Ewan]

"Hey, bro go on. We can catch up later, I plan on being in town for a few days." I told him with a curt nod.

"Are you sure?" He asked me.

"Of course, go on...I'll be up here having some drinks." I answered.

[Jace Keller]

I sighed deeply as I looked at Argos and nodded. "Very well, let's get the party started." I gave my twin a pat on the shoulder. "I'll talk to ya soon." I told him as I followed my brother to the back of the bar.

I watched my brother go with Argos and then turned back to my drink. It was true, I had begun to make good turnout on my accounts. But, what Argos did not know was that I hadn't gone into this business because I wanted too. I had no choice.

To believe it or not, I had been a top accountant with my parents company. I did my job well, too well for my Dodya's concern. I began finding things that were not adding up, huge profits that had just dropped out of nowhere. I took it on my own account to find out just what was going on with the company. Being that I was so in tune with numbers and code cracking on the side, I had managed to get into my Dodya's personal files and what I found was unbelievable.

Our Dodya had been involved with some type of corruption in the government and it had nothing to do with the fishing industry. But, before I'd been able to bring the corrupted files to my brother's attention, my Dodya discovered my secret investigation and before I knew it, I'd been tracked, knocked unconscious and brought into a secret location and questioned. For three days, I was kept in a cell and treated as the enemy. My father somehow managed to get a rather huge lump sum of credit into one of my personal accounts and claimed embezzlement.

I was taken into the custody of the authorities and arrested on these false claims, but now had no way to prove my innocence. My proof of my father's corruption was gone and I'd been exiled from the planet for fifteen years, spending four of those years in prison. In all reality, I was not supposed to be here today and could very well be pursecuted again. But, I wanted to see my twin brother and celebrate our birthday. Tonight, Jace would learn the truth of our Dodya, but it would have to be away from Argos' ears. The time of my redemption would come, it was long time coming. I just needed the right time and it would be here very soon.

I turned back to my drink and took a good swallow.

[Argos Ewan]

As we walked through t the bar Jace walkked behind me as I weaved our way through the tables. "I don't understand why he feels that he must be here. I know it is your birthday, but him being here puts you and our family in a bad light whenever he shows up."

[Jace Keller]

I gave my brother a pat on the back. "Come on, bro lighten up. He served his time, what more do you want? He may have made a really bad choice, but he's still our brother and my twin."

[Argos Ewan]

I suddenly stopped dead in my tracks and turned and look at Jace. “You know, you are right, but can we afford take a chance on him after what he's done? I think not. Anytime I have ever opened myself up to people like that they have done nothing but try to take advantage of me and the family.” I pointed my finger at him. “I just can’t do it Jace. The price is to high.”

[Jace Keller]

I shrugged. "Well, to each their own opinion, but let me have some time with him tonight. Can you at least give us that much? Don't turn him in to the authorities, he simply wants to share our birthday together. We've always had that time." I told him gently as I glanced Jericho's way. I hated seeing him there alone.

[Argos Ewan]

I sighed heavily as I tried to understand Jace’s feelings. “I guess your right. I mean, why should I allow something like this to come between you and me.” I placed my hand onto his shoulder and smiled at him. “As my brother I do love you and your happiness is very important to me. I’ll make you a deal. To make things easier on you I will leave and go home. Palleus and I are going to be at the ball tomorrow evening so you and I will have our time then. There's no sense in me ruining what time you wish to have. Even if I may not agree with it, it is your life and you do deserve any happiness I can provide for you. Is that fair?”

[Jace Keller]

I nodded genuinely. "Thanks for the birthday gift, bro. It really means a lot." I looked at my twin. "I'll see you tomorrow night at the bash and very interesting that you would just happen to meet someone tonight. Nice name too...Palleus."

[Argos Ewan]

“Yeah it is,” I replied. “She seems to be wonderful woman to say the least. At least from what I know of her already. She is like a breath of fresh air to me but it maybe nothing. After all, we’ve only just met each other.”

I shook my head and pointed at Jericho, “but enough about me. This evening is yours and I have no right keeping you from it. Go and enjoy your time with our brother. I will see you tomorrow.” I turned and walked away from him and walked out of the pub...........alone.

[Ceres Ewan]

The plans for my son’s birthday had finally come together and the day was set for him. I have heard that the one I didn’t want to show up had done exactly that. Word had reached me from the back forces that a ship had landed and that he was here. As a precaution I have set up guard that will be playing the part as waiters at the party. Should Jericho decide to do anything drastic during this event he would be silenced and taken under control and removed. His history of his past would be a good cover for having him removed. After all, even his momya has no idea of what had happened and why he had been exiled from the family and the family business.

I went to bed and rested up for the new day.

[Jace Keller]

I went to Jericho and took a seat. "It's good to see you, bro."

"Yeah, well it's been a while." He told me with a nod. "How are things?"

I shrugged. "Same as always." I climbed into the bar stool and swiveled around, hitting something with my foot as I did.

Jericho tried to catch it, but missed and the item hit the floor. It was a cane!

"What's that..." I looked at my brothers legs and that was when I noticed the brace that went from his thigh to his foot. "What happened?" My voice shown a hint of concern as I stepped off the bar stool and retrieved the cane.

[Jericho Ewan]

"Believe it or not, I was hit in Coruscant by a speeder." I answered as I took another drink. "Bastitch came out of nowhere and plowed me over. I was in a coma, for like two weeks and my left leg took the blunt of the blow." I sighed. "I was in the medical center for two months and now I'll have to be like this for the rest of my days. I'm just happy to be alive."

[Jace Keller]

I felt bad that I wasn't there to be with him when it happened. "Man, I would've been there...had I known." I told him.

He smiled at me and nodded. "I know ya would have, but I'm doing alright and I'm here. That's all that matters now."

"So, business is going well for you?"

Jericho answered. "I've had no complaints, but I really need to talk to you about something. It's time you knew the truth about what happened and the real reason I'm here."

He looked very serious. "What is it?"

"Can we go somewhere a bit more private?"

"Of course, come on." I said as I finished my drink and stood. Something was up with my brother and it seemed very important from his past. We both stood and I led the way outside and down the street as he began to talk.

The night lingered on for what seemed like forever, his story of what had happened between he and our Dodya, stuck with me far after we departed. I knew that for some strange reason, I believed him. "But, there's nothing you can do." I told him.

[Jericho Ewan]

"There is if I can get into his files." I told him, just above a whisper.

"How are you supposed to do that?" Jace asked. "There are going to be hundreds of people there tomorrow night..." He stopped in mid-sentence and looked at me closer.

"Yeah, I know and what a diversion that will be. I know that you of all people could get me in. All I need is half an hour, if I can get this information-"

"You will be able to redeem yourself once and for all...an our Dodya will go down." His voice sounded weak.

"Jace, our father is a working with a corrupted governent, what kind of man does what he did and made me look as if I'd embezzled millions. He's not in it for us, he's in it for the money, he was making false documents to aid in the take overs of all kinds of companies and making profits, but it was wrong and I found out about him." I told him pointedly. "He's wrong and I can prove it."

"Just hold up, bro. I need some time to let this sink in..."

"I don't have that time, we've got to act fast and it has to be at the party." I said.

"And if you get caught..."

I grimaced with a nod. "It's back to prison for me. So, I won't get caught, I can forge access into your system to find what I need." I looked at my brother. "I need your help, Jace. I can't do this without you."

[Ceres Ewan]

I went and checked on the people who were arriving for the party and checked on the guards to make sure they were staying under cover. I checked to make sure all the seating arrangements had been set. To my joy I saw that Argos was bringing someone named Palleus. I waited to greet her with great anticipation for when she would arrive.

As I walked around the ballroom as guests began to arrive. I saw one of the waiters and stood my ground as they passed by. “You there, have you had any reports on the guest we are looking for?”

The waiter lifted up his left wrist to his mouth and spoke into a microphone on his wrist as he whispered into it. “Have we any contact?” He reached up and listened closely to the concealed earpiece he wore. After a moment he looked at me and then looked around the ballroom as he tried to stay inconspicuous. “There has been no contact as of yet Sir.”

“Very well. Stay vigilant. If he is going to show it will be soon, I‘m sure of it. Have people watch the office grounds too.” I replied.

The waiter slightly nodded his head and quietly whispered into his microphone again as I walked away from him.

[Argos Ewan]

I awoke and spent some time during the day getting ready for the ball. I made the necessary arrangements for Palleus and made sure everything was just right. It just wouldn’t do to not make a good impression on her. I wanted to make sure this give her an experience she wouldn’t soon forget seeing that she would be new to this type of surroundings.

As I finished getting ready the butler came to my room to bring news. “Sir, the mansion carriage awaits your pleasure,” he said as he bowed to me.

“Very well,” I replied. “If you will, please have the driver bring a chilled bottle of Mortorian wine along for the ride.” I finished fastening the buttons on the shirt of my tux and put my tux jacket on and straighten it as I stood in front of the mirror.”

The butler walked up behind me and drew out a brush and brushed the back of my tux as he spoke to me. “Very well Sire. I do hope this will be a pleasant evening for you and the misses.” He walked around me and straightened my tie. “I haven’t seen Master Jace yet today. I assume he hasn’t forgotten this party.”

I sighed and shook my head. “Oh, I’m sure he hasn’t. You know how he is with the women. I’m sure he’ll be along.”

“Very well Master Argos. If you’ll excuse me, I’ll go and alert the driver of your wishes.”

I lightly lifted my hand to excuse him and he walked away. After he left I left my room and went to Jace’s room to see if he was mistaken and saw Jace wasn’t here. Disgusted, I walked out of Jace’s room and headed down to the awaiting carriage and got into it and gave the driver the directions for us to go and pick up Palleus.

We arrived at the Inn in good order and I went to her room and knocked upon the door. I stood patiently for her to answer the door as I checked my tie once more. I waited with great anticipation to see how she looked in the new clothes I had bought for her.

[Jace Keller]

I had taken my attire to the Eclipse late that night, along with my brother. I had a pass key to get in one of the back doors, past security. I didn't use it very often, but I did today.

My mind was troubled with the rather disturbing news I'd been given, I could tell when my brother was lying and as he revealed his story...I knew he was not lying about it. It didn't trouble me about him, but about our Dodya and just what kind of man he was to treat my twin in such an unfair way.

Jericho had gone to prison because he knew what kind of man our Dodya was. Jericho was his own son and I doubted that had it been myself or Argos-the same would have gone down. I had a very hard time sleeping that night and slept on and off the next day.

I'd gone out and gotten us some food for lunch and we talked alot of things from our past, before my brother was sent away. For the most part, we'd had a good life, our parents gave us the best schooling and made sure we were well dressed and such. They were proud of us, until that fateful day...I felt like dying as the courts ordered my brother to prison for embezzlement and they hauled him off in chains.

I wasn't allowed to see him after that, ordered was more like it. But, as the years passed and I found that he'd been released, I had gone to find him and I did. Prison had taken it's toll on him, but I helped him when he got out and told him that it didn't matter what he did I would always be there for him and he was grateful for that.

After those horrid days, I kept in secret contact with him and we celebrated our birthday together. but it was all done in secrecy.

"What's on your mind and don't tell me nothing, because I can tell."

I looked up from the pilots seat in the bridge and saw him limp in with his cane. "Just thinking about things." I answered.

"You look tired, did you sleep?"

I shrugged. "A little, it's just..." I wasn't able to get the words out before he interrupted me and fell into the co-pilots chair beside me.

"Don't." He merely stated. "Don't go feeling all sorry for me, I managed and I'm alive."

"I know, it's just unfair that our Dodya poisoned your name and you did nothing." I told him.

"I would have, had I gotten the vital information to you and Argos. I would have formed a mutiny so to say and would have done everything possible to make sure that man was behind bars."

"We would have joined you,"

"I know, little brother." He smiled and leaned up to pat me on the shoulder. He liked to always make sure I never forgot that I was eleven minutes younger than he was.

I smiled back and sighed. "Our Dodya would have done that to any of us, had we found out what he was up too."

"I just want the information to clear my name, Jace. That's all I want."

I nodded as I stared out the port veiw. "I know and to have that information...will take our Dodya down under conspiracy."

There was silence between us for a long moment.

[Jericho Ewan]

Secretly, I did want our Dodya to pay for what he'd done to me. I had been imprisoned to the spice mines of Kessel for four years, I had scars from the whippings I'd recieved still on my back. I'd lived in hell for four years and I wanted something for it.

"Jace," I said as I looked at him. "This man took my life from me. You know that I was a good accountant here in this company and when I found those accounts were filling up with no reason, I decided to take it on myself to figure out why."

"I know."

"For three days, they had me locked up somewhere in this facility, while they had some computer guru mess with my accounts to make me look as if I'd been stealing credit for months." I slammed my fist on the arm of the chair. "Justice is what I want! Is that so bad for what I lost? I lost not only my life, but my family! We are forced to sneak around to see one another and I've not seen Mumya since the ruling!"

I was quiet for a moment. "Does she even miss me?" My voice was sullen.

"I've found her crying before, Jericho while holding your hologram. She never knew I'd seen her. I think, she knows that there was more to this than what was said."

"He stole everything from us, Jace." I told him pointedly. "So, tonight I may be able to gain back some part of my life."

[Jace Keller]

I nodded. "It's a good thing that Dodya doesn't know that your hair is longer and you've dyed it blonde then." I smiled as my comm-link went off.

"Yes?" I answered it.

"Sir, there is a delivery guy here who says you've ordered a tux. It's in the front station waiting for you."

"Thanks, Kyle. Send one of the guys with it to the Eclipse, I'm kind of in a hurry." I flipped off my com and looked at my brother. "Seems your tux is right on time." I smiled.

"Good. What will also help is that while I've not seen him in seven years, I've also learned several languages while in my stay on Kessel, along with the accents."

I gave him a credulous look as he laughed. "Had to do something while we weren't working."

"I guess so." I saw that one of the guards was bringing the tux through one of the doors in the hangar. "I'll be right back." I told him. "And we have a party to get too."

[Jericho Ewan]

I finished fastening my cufflinks before I walked down the hatchway with the aid of my cane and met my brother.

"You clean up pretty good, bro." He told me as he straightend my bowtie.

I smiled as I tied up my hair with a black leather strap.

"You look nothing like the man you were seven years ago." Jace commented.

"And what about Argos?" I asked.

"He's going to be too busy with his new girlfriend to be paying too much attention to you."

"I'm not going to be around much for that anyway, I've got more pressing issues to be taking care of." I told him.

I took a deep breath as we walked to a lift that would take us to the banquet room.

[Palleus]

I lightly lifted my hand to excuse him and he walked away. After he left I left my room and went to Jace’s room to see if he was mistaken and saw Jace wasn’t here. Disgusted, I walked out of Jace’s room and headed down to the awaiting carriage and got into it and gave the driver the directions for us to go and pick up Palleus.

We arrived at the Inn in good order and I went to her room and knocked upon the door. I stood patiently for her to answer the door as I checked my tie once more. I waited with great anticipation to see how she looked in the new clothes I had bought for her.

I couldn't believe the transformation my body went through with the gown that Argos had brought me. I'd never seen anything so beautiful.

I heard the knock on the door and quickly crossed the room and opened it up. "Hello," I said as I looked at the handsome man in front of me.

[Argos Ewan]

As she opened the door my mouth dropped open and the beauty of her took my breath away. “Hummmmm,” I said as I walked around her as she stood before me. As I walked around her I took in every curve of her body as it stood out . “By the Gods, I have never seen any creature as beautiful as you.”

As I walked to the front of her, I bowed down and took her hand in mine and lightly kissed it. When I finished I stood upright and put my right arm akimbo to her. “It would be my greatest honor to have you at my side at the ball. Our carriage awaits.”

[Palleus]

I smiled lightly and took his arm. "Thank you." I allowed him to take me to the carriage and let him help me up. Once seated, I looked up at the moon as the carriage began to slowly go down the street. "It's a beautiful night." I told him with a smile.

[Argos Ewan]

“It most certainly is and you in the light only pales to the stars themselves.” I reached down and opened the bottle of wine that I requested for the ride. I poured her a glass of the sparkling drink and handed it to her and proceeded to pour one for myself. Once poured I held my glass up to her. “Here’s to the most beautiful woman in the city.” I tapped my glass to hers and took a sip from it and put my arm around her to ward off the cool breeze from the nearby waterfront we were riding by. “I hope you have an enjoyable evening. We don’t have these events often. It is a proud day for the family.”

[Jace Keller]

There was already a crowd milling about in the corridors that led to the ballroom as we exited the lift. A few people stopped us to wish me a 'Happy Birthday', but we continued to another corridor around the corner. I stopped my brother.

"What are we stopping for?" He asked me as I held up my hand for a moment. We were standing before a huge bookcase and I began to look for a book.

"Umm, bro we really don't have time to read anything..."

It was about that time that I moved a certain book and a hidden door opened across the corridor. "Come on, there are no cameras this way." I told him as I led him into the secret passageway.

[Jericho Ewan]

"What the...." I said as I saw the passageway. "Where did that come from?" I asked as we stepped through the hidden doorway and into a strange passage.

The door closed silently behind us.

[Palleus]

I thought of my birthday and never had a big bash like this one. "How old is he?" I asked.

[Ceres Ewan]

As I looked around for Jace, two of the guests walked up to me as they smiled. The man’s wife walked in front of me and smiled. “My husband and I saw Jace a moment ago. He has really grown to be a real man. He looks absolutely divine.”

“Why thank you Mrs. Janu. But where did you see him? I’ve not seen him myself yet.”

She turned and look at her husband, “where was it that we saw him?”

“I believe it was in the outer corridors somewhere,” he replied. “Funny that, he did seem to have someone else with him. I didn’t recognize him though."

“Another guest I suppose. There will be many here that even I don't know that are friends of Jace's," I replied.

They both nodded and I held my hand out to them. “Well I am sure he will be here in a moment. Please, continue to enjoy the ball and the music.”

[Argos Ewan]

It was a short ride to the ball and I could see it coming from the distance. “He is 103 today. I’m sure there will be a lot of music played there too. Do you like to dance?”

[Jace Keller]

"Let's just say that no one knows of this..." I smiled as I led him down a very thin corridor that seemed to go on forever. "This goes to a terminal that can't be traced." I told him. "I found it a while back, no one uses it anymore and no one knows that I know of its existance...and I changed the pass key." I smiled as I held up the keycard and slid it in. After punching in an array of numbers the door clicked open.

"Here ya go." I said as we walked in.

[Palleus]

I nodded as I sipped my wine. My master taught me how to dance long ago and since I'd only done it a few times.

"Yes, some." I answered. "Do you?"

[Argos Ewan]

“Some huh,” I replied. “Well when you dance with me just relax and follow my lead and you’ll be just fine. I’m sure you’ll learn a lot, but I won’t push you into something extravagant. We’ll just keep it simple so you can have a better time while your here. Are you up to that,” I asked and then sipped the wine from my glass.

The driver turned and handed me a carnation. “We are getting close Sire and the time is just about upon us.”

I reached over took the flower from the driver and handed it to Palleus. “Soon we will be at the ball. It is traditional that upon the exact time of the person’s birth of which the ball is for, a bell is sounded. Afterwards, all the women throw a carnation onto the entranceway to the ball if it is a man’s birthday. The opposite is true if it is a woman’s birthday. The men throw the carnation during that time. This is in celebration of the exact time of their birth. After the bell rings and the flowers are thrown fireworks are set off in the area. It is quite a celebration.”

[Jericho Ewan]

I was astounded by the array of computer terminals in the small area. "So, no chance anyone will know I'm down here?" I asked as I took a seat behind one of them and turned it on.

"Not a chance." He answered as he handed me a pass card. "This will give you a code six access code."

I smiled. "Excellent." I stated as I ran my fingers over the keyboard.

[Palleus]

"Interesting way to celebrate." I said as I took the carnation. "I've heard of some Inleshat ceremonies doing stuff like that, but the commoners...we just have a cake and usually one gift and that is it. But, our families show up and that is enough as it is."

[Argos Ewan]

“Well we go more into it around here,” I replied as we rode the carriage into the area of the ball.

The driver drove the carriage into the circular driveway of the mansion and stopped it in front of the Ballroom. Suddenly a bell rung out overhead. “It looks like we’re just in time Sire.” He stopped the carriage and stepped down from it and opened the door to the carriage to help us out. I sat down my glass and stepped down from the carriage and reached up to help Palleus from the carriage.

As she stepped down from the Carriage I looked toward the entranceway and saw women coming out of the Ballroom as they began to throw their flowers into the entranceway. “Well it looks like your up,” I told her as the fireworks began.

[Jace Keller]

I watched my brother for a few moments, and then heard the faint sound of fireworks going off.

He looked up at me. "Hey, you need to get back up there....party is started."

I nodded. "Alright, I'll come back to check on you a little later."

"Oh, no need to worry about me, I know what I'm after." He told me. "You have fun and I'll meet you in the Eclipse later this evening. I know my way."

I smiled as I patted him on the back, then headed for the door. "No one can get past my code, but if they do, there is another passage way hidden under the desk." I informed him. "It goes back to an underground tunnel and out to the sewer system."

"Well, let's hope I don't have to use it."

"Yeah," I nodded as I left the small room and headed back out the secret passage way, I was careful in returning so not to get caught. I smiled as I rounded the corridor and saw that most were outside, hurriedly I made my way to the doors and exited, running straight into my Dodya.

[Palleus]

As I walked beside him, holding my flower I asked. "What exactly do I do again?"

[Ceres Ewan]

As I looked around Jace suddenly appeared from out of no where. “Jace, there you are. I’ve been looking everywhere for you.” I breathed in deeply and smelt a musky odor coming from him as I placed my hands onto his shoulders. “Where have you been? you smell like you’ve just visited a tomb. Please; go and freshen up a little before meeting the guests,” I encouraged him as I pulled my hands from his shoulders.

This odor. Where have I smelled this before. Most strange.

[Argos Ewan]

I pointed toward the other flowers in the entranceway to the Ballroom. "Just throw it into the flowers in the entranceway of the Ballroom with the others that are there."

[Jace Keller]

"Ah, well Dodya, I knew I should have had this tux dry cleaned before wearing it. It's been in storage aboard the Eclipse for so darn long, hadn't even noticed the smell." I said as I brushed at my arm.

"I'll go take care of it." I said as I turned and went back into the building.

[Ceres Ewan]

"Ahh, alright. Well try some of the colone that is in the freasher for the guests," I replied as I patted him on the back. "I've had to do that before. But do hurry, the guests are awaiting your arrival."

[Avalon Aquilo]

Even though I wasn't invited I came to the Ball to wish Jace a happy birthday and stepped into the entrance way of the Ballroom and threw my carnation in like the rest of the women. Once done I walked into the entrance of the Ballroom and looked around for Jace, but saw Argos standing next to another woman. I walked up to him and smiled. "Hello Argos. Who have you brought with you this fine evening? She is quite beautiful," I said as I admired her.

[Argos Ewan]

"Yes she is isn't she," I replied as I looked at Avalon. I reached out and placed my arm around Palleus. Avalon, this is Palleus. She is my guest for this evening."

I looked at Palleus, "Palleus, this is Avalon Aquilo, a good long standing friend of Jace's."

[Avalon Aquilo]

“Palleus, what an intriguing name,” I said as I bowed to her. “You are quite beautiful. It’s no wonder Argos has been hiding you from everyone.”

[Jace Keller]

I disappeared for a moment and came back out of the 'fresher smelling like a rose, literally a very masculan rose, if there were such a thing.

I hoped that Jericho was getting along fine and I knew that if indeed he came up with the information he had...things were going to be quite a bit different.

I walked back outside as guests began to slowly come in.

[Argos Ewan]

I looked over Avalon's shoulder and saw Jace coming in the distance. I tugged at Palleus slightly and looked off into the distance. "Jace has arrived," I told her as I put her arm in mine. "Please, come with me and I'll introduce you to him."

I saw Avalon turn and look over the area of people when Jace finally caught her eyes and headed toward him.

[Avalon Aquilo]

As I walked up to Jace, I reached over and gave him a light kiss. "Hello Jace. Your brother Argos is here with his date and she is stunning." I stepped aside and allowed him to see them together.

[Palleus]

I felt my face get hot and smiled. "Thank you, Avalon." I noticed I still had the flower. "Excuse me for a moment." I walked over to where all the ladies were dropping their carnations and did the same.

[Argos Ewan]

As Avaslon walked away to meet Jace, Palleus went to throw her flower in with the others and then rejoined me. "Come, I'll introduce you to Jace now." With her arm in mine and walked toward my brother.

As we reached him I began the introduction again. "Jace, this is Palleus. She is my guest for the evening."

I looked at Palleus again. "Palleus, this is Jace; my brother. It is his birthday tonight and why we are here."

[Jace Keller]

I turned and saw the young lady who was accompanying my brother. "Pleased to meet you, Miss Palleus." I said as I took her hand and lightly kissed it. "I do hope that you enjoy yourself this evening."

"Thank you, Sir I'm sure I will and Happy Birthday." She told me with a smile.

"Thank you very much, Miss Palleus." I said as I straightened.

[Argos Ewan]

I looked at Jace and smiled at him. "Well seeing how it is your birthday, I suppose it is going to be my honor to sing and play you a song before the crowd again?"

[Jace Keller]

"Hmmm, I thought you swore never to do that again." I laughed. "Though, you are a rather good singer."

[Argos Ewan]

I nodded my head to him. “Yes I do and I have a little something for you.”

I looked at Palleus, “stay with Jace. I’ll be right back.”

I turned away and walked through the Ballroom toward the stage where the band was playing and I stepped up to the stage and stopped the band from playing. From one of the band members I politely asked for his Baliset and he handed it to me. The guests gathered together in the Ballroom and looked at me to see what I was going to do. I took up a chair and sat it down in the center of the stage. I looked over the crowd as the fireworks stopped and more of the people came back into the Ballroom. I cleared my throat and began to speak to everyone. “Ladies and Gentlemen. I would like to present a song to my brother Jace Ewan.”

I pointed toward Jace as I smiled at him. “This song is my gift to you my brother.” I sat down upon the chair and began to play the Baliset. It was an instrument I had learned to love to play long ago and knew every cord and string upon it. As I began to play the enchanting sounds from the Baliset swam throughout the entire Ballroom. After a brief intro I played into a song and began to sing.

On this lucky day,
My brother is older then yesterday.
With time he shows his age,
His life now turns the page.

With joy he has grown today,
With years his hair will turn gray.
With time much he will learn,
For him the women will yearn.

I finished the song on the Baliset and stood up and placed it next to the chair. I looked out toward Jace and spoke out. “Happy birthday my brother.” Everyone began to applaud as I stepped down and went back to Palleus.

I smiled as I looked at her, “I’m sorry but I had to do that. Like you said earlier, even you always give a gift at birthdays. Well, that was mine to him.”

[Jace Keller]

All I could do was smile. Leave it to my bro to do something like that. I began to go over to him, until people started stopping me and congratulating me on my birthday.

I was being a gentlemen to our guests, but my mind was elsewhere. My mind was with my brother...wonder what was going on. I wanted to return to the secret room, but didn't dare at this point.

Dinner would be served soon as people filled the ball room and took their seats, I went up to the main table in front with my parents, Argos and Palleus.

"So, Dodya...what is on the menu for this evening?" I asked as I put my napkin on my lap and sipped my wine.

[Ceres Ewan]

I raised my hand to the waiters to order the beginning of the serving of the meal. I to placed my napkin in my lap as I looked at Jace. “I have ordered something special for you tonight. We’ll be dinning on a freshly chilled salad followed by a Bantha Wellington. Some freshly cooked portion of scalloped potatoes and freshly picked and shipped sweet greens from Artinwa. To finish things off, we’ll have the blackened berry cheesecake. I think you’ll enjoy it.”

I looked across the table and saw the woman sitting next to Argos. "And who might this beautiful creature be that is with you tonight Argos? I don't believe I have ever met her before."

[Argos Ewan]

I looked at my Dodya and smiled. "No, she is a new visitor here. Dodya, this is Palleus."

[Ceres Ewan]

"I am quite pleased to met you my dear. You are quite beautiful," I replied as I nodded to her.

[Argos Ewan]

The waiters began serving the meal as I continued the introduction. "Palleus, this is my Dodya."

[Palleus]

I smiled gently. "Greetings, Sir." I told him. "It's a pleasure to be here."

[Ceres Ewan]

I watched as one of the waiters placed a salad in front of Jace, Avalon and myself. Another placed the same before Palleus and Argos. “Please everyone. Don’t be shy. Do begin eating.”

I looked over at Palleus as another waiter poured a glass of wine for her. “If the wine doesn’t suit you, please do not be afraid to ask for something else. Our waiters are quite able to severe anything you desire.”

[Argos Ewan]

I looked across the table at Jace as Dodya spoke with Palleus. "Well it is nice seeing you and Avalon together again. You two seem so perfect for each other."

[Avalon Aquilo]

"You really think so" I replied as I took Jace's hand into mine on top of the table. "Well it's nothing serious seeing I am still getting my education on surgical doctoring. It has been quite interesting to me."

I looked at Jace and smiled at him. "I'm on break right now and I finally got the the time to spend with Jace and renew our relationship. For what it is anyway. Right now we're holding no expectations on each other though with everything we have going on right now. Who knows what may come of it later when it is possible. For now though we enjoy our time together."

[Argos Ewan]

"Well I think you two will eventually do something magnificant together," I said as I smiled at her. "Jace could use someone like you around to help straighten him out."

[Jericho Ewan]

Sweat began to bead on my forehead as I worked feverishly to get the knowledge I wanted. New codes had been installed in the programs to get to my father's deepest and darkest secrets. I knew I could get to them, I just needed to break the code and I was utterly good at that.

I used my Code 6 access card and wound my way around the system. It wouldn't be long now.

[Jace Keller]

I smiled at my brother intuitiveness, but personally I knew there wouldn't be anything coming out of this. She was a doctor and would have many more priorities than I had to offer her, at this time anyway.

A bead of sweat rolled down the side of my face and my stomach fluttered...as if I were anxious about something. It was my twin and the connection we had.

"Well, perhaps one day." I told my brother with a grin.

[Argos Ewan]

I smiled at Avalon and winked at her. "Well what do you know. There maybe hope for you yet."

[Palleus]

I watched quietly as they spoke to each other. Where they in love? I wondered. This was a good family to remain around, I could get a lot of good information from them.

I smiled and took another sip of my drink.

[Argos Ewan]

I shyly looked at Palleus and smiled. "I know there is much to be said of the open heart that goes beyond words that can be spoken."

[Palleus]

His words warmed my heart, it was a very strange feeling. "You, are very clever in your words." I told him with a warm smile. "I've never met anyone quite like you."

[Jace Keller]

"And you won't." I cut in with a smirk as I took in the rest of my drink and held my glass up for another.

"My big brother is....hmmmm, how should I put...wound up as tight as a clock and has no time for this kind of loveplay?"

I gave my brother a gracious smile as my drink was refilled.

[Argos Ewan]

“What is the worlds are you talking about my brother,” I said as I swung my arm toward him. “I have no idea what your talking about.” As I moved my arm I knocked over my glass of wine and quickly grabbed my napkin to wipe it up. I quickly tried to recover from my embarrassment. “Now look what you’ve done Jace.”

[Jace Keller]

I laughed and leaned towards Palleus. "Forgive my brohter, he's a bit clumsy at times. Why I could tell you a load of stories of his clumsy moments that would have you rolling in the aisle, but we don't have that much time."

I looked at Argos and smiled again, before winking.

[Ceres Ewan]

I watched as the show went on. "Alright you two. Behave in front of the comapany."

I looked at Palleus and smiled at her. "You'll have to forgive them. They go at it like this all the time."

[Argos Ewan]

I was now embarrassed more than ever since Dodya said what he did. I dropped the Napkin down as one of the waiters cleaned the mess up and poured me another glass. I looked at Palleus and laughed. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to do that.”

I looked at Dodya and pointed a finger at him, “and you quit that. Your embarrassing me.”

[Palleus]

"Oh, your family is very nice, Argos. You don't have to apologize for that." It was very nice, compared to my own family. But, my Jedi family, we were very close nit and thinking of them and what I had done to betray them, made me sad. I had done wrong by being here.

[Jace Keller]

I could not help, but to laugh at my brother as Palleus smiled at him. She was a strangely quiet girl, kind of like my brother at times.

The music started a few moments later as I looked at Avalon. "Have I told you how beautiful you look this evening?" I asked as I took a drink and smiled. "You're absolutely glowing."

[Avalon Aquilo]

I was thrilled with Jace’s words to me and put my hand in his as I smiled at him. “Well thank you and your looking really awesome tonight too.”

I listened to the tune being played and wanted to dance. I leaned over and whispered into his ear, “you know, you should ask a woman to dance if you really like her.”

[Jace Keller]

I gave her a good smirk. "Dance, eh? I can dance..." I stood up and gave her a bow. "Would, m'lady care for a dance?" I took her hand and kissed it with a smile.

[Avalon Aquilo]

I stood up as he kissed my hand and curtsied to him. “I would love to Sir.” After he let go of my hand I laced my left arm into his right. “Please lead on fine Sir,” I replied.

[Argos Ewan]

I watched as Jace took Avalon out on the dance floor and felt the urge to ask Palleus onto the floor too. I slowly stood up and held my hand out to her as I slightly bowed to her. “Would you care to dance? I promise not to step on your toes,” I said as I smiled at her.

[Palleus]

I giggled as I took his hand. "Well, it might just be me stepping on yours. I would be honored, Argos." I told him as I stood and laced my arm with his as he led me to the floor.

[Argos Ewan]

I took her onto the floor and placed my right hand onto her waist and put my other hand in her hers I slowly began to dance with her to help her to understand the motion of the music. As we progressed I began to move a little more freely and she adjusted well and flowed as if we had always danced together and knew each others next move.

“You dance so freely,” I complimented her. “Obviously you’ve done this before and are quite good at it I might add.”

[Palleus]

I smiled deeply as I looked in his eyes. "It's been quite some time since I've danced." I admitted.

[Argos Ewan]

I now drew her body close to mine as we continued. "Well you dance as if you've done it quite often in the past. Beautiful and eloquent all in one body. You are quite a prize if I may say so myself. So please tell me, is there a man waiting for you and your return?”

[Palleus]

I blushed. "I suppose a parental figure is waiting, but nothing more." I answered.

[Argos Ewan]

“Ah,” I replied now feeling stupid for even asking. I could feel my face beginning to blush.

I shook my head as I quickly tried to change the subject and cover myself. “It seems that it is getting pretty warm in here. Would you like to have a refreshing drink with me out on the balcony?”

[Jericho Ewan]

A smile came to my lips as I broke the code. It took a lot of digging to get where I was. But, the information was right in front of me, I had it and in a short time my name would be cleared and all those bad debts against me from my father would be a thing of the past.

I took out my jumpdrive and plugged it into the computer terminal. This little micro harddrive would copy everything I needed and all I'd have to do was to get it to my brother, he'd take care of the rest. I knew I could count on Jace.

File after file I loaded my jumpdrive with, until I had everything I needed to bring my father to his knees. He would know what it felt like now to be locked away for years.

I took my jumpdrive and put it in my pocket. With my comm in hand, I signalled my brother.

[Jace Keller]

I felt the vibration of my comm in my tux pants pocket. I stopped dancing for a moment to see who it was...it was Jericho.

"Excuse me, Av. I need to take this call." I said as I turned and quickly walked off the dance floor and out the main doors to the corridor.

"Yes?" I asked as I walked quickly to another corridor and turned down it, where no one was.

"I've got the information." Jericho's voice told me.

I felt tense all of a sudden. "Good, go back down the corridor that you came through and turn to the right, you can take that all the way to the end." I looked around the corner to make sure no one was there. I was alone.

"Use the same code for that door." I told him. "Get as far away from here as you can and I'll meet you later at Shade's."

"Sure, bro." I heard him say as he clicked off. I didn't feel really confident about him taking my advice on getting as far away from this place as he could. I just prayed he would do what I asked. He couldn't afford to get caught here.

[Jericho Ewan]

I sighed deeply as I sent the files to my ship. My life was about to change and I couldn't wait to redeem myself at last that I was not the crook my father made me out to be. I closed down the computer and used the keycard to leave the secret room. Looking down the corridor, I could go to the right and be free or I could go to the left and prove my innocence in front of hundreds of people who thought I was a crook.

The choice at this point was not a hard one as I patted the jumpdrive that was safely in my pocket.

[Ceres Ewan]

I watched as my two sons danced with their dates. They were dancing just as I had taught them to dance as I did with their mother.

As I watched them dance Jace suddenly left his date standing in the middle of the dance floor. He didn't seem upset from what I could see, but it was a rude way to leave a woman.

As I looked over at Argos I saw he and Palleus leaving the Ballroom together. She looked so beautiful and I couldn't seemed to be able to take my eyes off of her.

[Palleus]

“Ah,” I replied now feeling stupid for even asking. I could feel my face beginning to blush.

I shook my head as I quickly tried to change the subject and cover myself. “It seems that it is getting pretty warm in here. Would you like to have a refreshing drink with me out on the balcony?”

"That would be nice, yes. But, I'd like to freshen up a bit. Could you tell me where the 'fresher is?" I asked with a smile. I was having the time of my life. I couldn't believe how much fun the 'other' side lived. It was much different than the Jedi ways.

[Argos Ewan]

"Well of coarse," I replied. I turned and pointed toward the balcony. "I'll be right out there waiting for you and I'll get you a drink while your gone."

I pointed over her shoulder across the Ballroom. "See that hall over there to the right at the end of the Ballroom." I waited until she looked where I was pointing. "Just turn down that hall and it is the third door on the left. You can't miss it," I said as I smiled at her.

[Palleus]

"Great, I'll be back before you know it." I said as I leaned up and kissed him on the cheek and walked on, before he had a chance to react. I found the 'fresher with no problem and was soon walking out. An array of guests were about, enjoying themselves as the party continued. I began to go through the crowd to get back to Argos.

[Jericho Ewan]

I blended in well with my hair back and my tux. There was no way that I was going to just sit back and run away when I could expose the man that had brought me so much pain to my life.

I saw both of my brothers on the dance floor, each with a pretty lady in their arms. It wasn't until Argos and his date left the dance floor, paused and he pointed towards the doorway, that I focused on Jace. He was still there and I quickly limped towards him. He had to have this jumpdrive on him.

"Here." I said as I interrupted his dance. "This is gold." I slid the jumpdrive into his hand and quickly disappeared into the crowd again.

I made it back out into the corridor as more people were standing around, I crossed it and saw the man I was searching for duck into the corridor where the 'fresher's were located.

A smile came to my lips as I did the same, a few people were lingering about, drinking and having a good time. My eyes narrowed as the date that Argos had, exited the 'fresher and my Dodya stood right there and cornered her against the wall.

I walked closer, just enough to hear anything he was going to say to her. I didn't like the look in his eye, he almost looked...threatening.

[Argos Ewan]

Palleus kissed me before she left and I felt wonderful about her doing it. It had been a long time since a woman had kissed me and I had completely forgotten how wonderful it felt. With newfound confidence I turned away when she left me and went out onto the balcony.

Once on the balcony, I walked around the huge fountain that was in the center of it and walked over to a wet bar that had been set up for my brother’s birthday. I ordered two drinks, one for Palleus and one for myself. With the drink in hand, I walked over and sat down on a bench a that sat near the far railing of the balcony. I sat the drinks upon the railing and waited for her return.

[Ceres Ewan]

I watched as Palleus walked towards the fresher. I suddenly got an urge to go and talk to her. As I got up I realized after I had been drinking all day the wine was beginning to effect me. I slowly got out of my chair and straightened my tux and went toward the hall to the freshers. One I turned down the hall I saw Palleus just coming out of the woman’s fresher. To me this seemed to be perfect timing. Seeing that most of the people were now in the Ballroom. I went toward her and bumped into her. As she staggered slightly and backed into the wall I faced her and put my hands onto the wall on either side of her head.

I began to speak to her coaxingly. “Well it seems that your having a pretty good time.” I I reached down into my tux pocket and pulled out some credits and showed them to her. “I think you and I could have a really good time alone if you’d like. It’s nothing many women haven’t enjoyed doing with me. Would you like to have some fun?”

[Palleus]

The Force sent me a warning as someone nearly knocked me over. My back hit the wall and I stared into the face of Argos' Dodya. I couldn't even speak as I smelled the scent of alcohol on his breath. His voice was deep and his words...

I couldn't as much utter anything as I stared into those dark, pentrating eyes.

[Jericho Ewan]

What I heard sickened me. "You Bastitich! You think your credit can get you anything you want! I'll give you this for free!" I grabbed his shoulder with my free hand, as I let go of my cane with the other and swung with all my might straight into his jaw. He took the blow and tumbled the floor.

"You are the one who disgraces this family!" I yelled venomously.

[Ceres Ewan]

Having been blind sided, I suddenly found myself picking myself off the floor as I held my jaw. I looked up and saw who had hit me was none other than Jericho. “What.....you! I heard you had gotten out.” I quickly got off the floor and grabbed him by the collar and placed him against the wall as Palleus quickly moved out of the way. “I’ve been expecting you. I thought you would do something foolish like this. Very stupid of you.”

As I held onto his collar I threw him to the side and to the opposing wall of the hallway. “You had better think twice about what your about to do.”

[Jericho Ewan]

My adrenaline kicked in and I was back up in only a few moments. I was actually surprised myself that I was able to move that quick with my bad leg, but it was obvious the God's were on my side tonight.

My eyes narrowed in anger as I pointed my finger in his direction. "You! I used to believe in you! I loved you, you were my father! YOU LIED!!!"

I put all the weight on my right leg and took my cane and whacked him across the head. As he went down, I knew I only dazed him and continued my rant.

"I know the truth and so will everyone else! YOU ARE THE DISGRACE TO THIS FAMILY!"

People began to gather around us, but I didn't care. I hated this man!

[Argos Ewan]

As I waited on Palleus’s return, I looked into the Ballroom and saw my Dodya going into the same hallway where the freshers were. Shortly after, I saw quite a bit of people beginning to stir and a commotion broke out. I know figured Dodya was pulling some of his usual birthday pranks that he always pulled. As it continued, I could see more and more people becoming drawn to it.

Dodya must be really pulling a good one this time I thought to myself.

I waited to see what the results would be. I knew it must have been a good one to have drawn this many people to it.

[Palleus]

I was somewhat thankful for the interruption, but the violence that proceeded it was quite a shock to me.

Before, I could even really react punches were thrown, and shoving was done, but the last straw was when obviously Ceres son slammed him in the head with his cane that was when I could no longer stand it.

I quickly got between them as Ceres was trying to get his head together. "Stop this!" I said in a very firm tone.

I didn't care whether I was in this fancy dress or not as I looked at Ceres son. "Now, put that cane down before I make you put it down." I told him in the same tone. I didn't move a muscle and if he did try to hit Ceres again, I would make sure he didn't.

The man sighed and backed off. I looked at Ceres. "Sir, are you alright?" I asked.

[Argos Ewan]

Palleus had stepped in but I wanted her out of this mess. I gently pushed her aside as I ignored my head wound from the cane.

With Palleus out of the way I grabbed Jericho by the collar and yelled back at him. “Oh I see! So you embezzle the family fortune and now you want to blame me for your mistakes! It took us years to get back what you took! People show more respect for their Dodya‘s than you have. I am ashamed of how your acting. I think you should leave while you can.” I shoved him away from me and turned my back on him as I walked away and toward the Ballroom.

[Jericho Ewan]

"You don't deserve my respect! Your company takeover days with the Empire are over and you'll be the one that will pay this time!" I yelled in return as whispers began going through the crowd. "That's right these people will know just how corrupt a man you are! You pinned that embezzlement charge on me to cover your hide!"

I was suddenly taken from behind by security and pinned to the floor.

My bad leg ached as they did so. This time I did not resist, I had the proof to bring my father to his knees and clear my name.

[Ceres Ewan]

I heard something behind me going on and I turned and saw the security I had hired had finally done their job. As they held him to the floor I gave them my order as I took my handkerchief out and wiped the blood from my face. “Take him out to the balcony. If he wants to have it out with me then we’ll do it there in private.”

Security picked him up and followed me to the balcony. At this point the damage had been done and I felt it was time to shut this off the best I could. I walked through the Ballroom with Palleus walking in front of me and Jericho with the security behind myself.

Palleus went to Argo’s side as I dismissed everyone from the balcony. “Everyone, please excuse us. We have a personal family matter at hand and wish this to be private.”

Everyone quickly exited the balcony. Before I could close the grand glass doors to the balcony Jace and Avalon ran in.

After I closed the doors, the security within the Ballroom closed the curtains inside the Ballroom shutting off the view to the balcony from the inside.

Palleus went to Argos’s side and stood next to him.

[Argos Ewan]

I watched as Palleus quickly walked to my side. I saw my father come up behind her with Jericho forcibly being restrained and brought onto the balcony.

I looked at Palleus with shock, “what in the worlds is going ?” Palleus looked at me as if not sure what to say.

I quickly looked at my Dodya and calmly spoke to him. “Dodya, what is going on? What is this all about? Why is he being brought here restrained,” I asked as I pointed at Jericho.

[Ceres Ewan]

“You had better leave too son.” I turned and looked at Jace. “The same things goes for you. You two have no need to hear what I am about to say to your brother. This isn't about you.”

[Avalon Aquilo]

I gently took a hold of Jace's arm and looked at him. "Maybe he's right Jace. Perhaps we should leave and give them their privacy."

[Argos Ewan]

I didn’t want to be disrespectful to dodya but knew my place was here at his side. I didn’t like what I was seeing and knew that he needed my support and would have it.

Not exactly sure what to do I looked at Palleus for anything that would help me to decide what to do next. I got no comfort from her but, I really felt I needed to do the right thing for her and my family.

I overheard what Avalon said to Jace and quickly thought of what I should now do. “Avalon, Palleus, please wait in the Ballroom. You have no need to go through this. This is obviously a family matter and should be concluded shortly and privately.”

Before Avalon and Palleus could respond, I quickly turned to Dodya and stood firm. “No Dodya. I won’t leave. My place is right here with you. What has my, my brother done now?” Somehow I just knew this had to be trouble brewing after the way Jericho had spoke to me at the pub last night.

[Jace Keller]

I shook my head. "I'm not going anywhere, this is my twin and I'm staying." I was not about to allow my brother to be scrutinized alone.

"Dodya, I'm staying whatever you say to him, I want to hear."

[Palleus]

I sighed deeply. I debated on what to do. I was a Jedi Padawan just not fully trained, but this was a situation that in my own eyes needed to have some kind of mediator. But, if I insisted this, I would blow my cover and Argos would think of me as being disrespectful.

I looked at Argos as he continued on talking to his father. I looked at Avalon and nodded as I hated to leave. "Shall we dance?"

[Avalon Aquilo]

I looked at Palleus and held my hand out to her. "I think maybe we should," I replied.

I looked over my shoulder to Jace, "if you need me you know where I'll be."

I took Paleus's hand as she took mine and we headed toward the doors.

[Argos Ewan]

I now felt totally disgusted that Palleus had to leave. I only hoped I would see her again..

I quickly turned and looked at Jericho. "As usual, your timing is impeccable! WHAT IN THE WORLDS IS GOING ON!"

[Jericho Ewan]

"Hey, bro don't blame me." I said as I growled at the security. "I think, you can let me go. It's not like I'm going to run away with this brace."

"Let him go." My father said with a wave of his hand.

"Well, it seems you've not changed in my prison time, Kessel is quite the place to be." I looked at him. "You know full well you framed me, your own flesh and blood. I never would have believed it. But, I'm sure that embezzlement issue cleared everything up in your favor. Everything worked out just fine for you, you got away with everything you were set up too."

I jerked away from the security guards and looked at Jace. "You know what to do. This is in your power, bro and yours alone. Don't let me down, bro."

[Jace Keller]

I swallowed hard and thought about the jumpdrive in my pocket. On it was the evidence that Jericho needed supposedly to earn him his innocence. Before I turned it over to anyone, I would look at it myself, I had to be sure that it was going to work in my twins favor.

"Dodya, is this really necessary?" I asked. "He's already served his time, take him to another system and just let him go. Why push this any further?"

[Ceres Ewan]

I snapped around and looed at Jace. "Jace, don't be so nieve and wise up. It' is simple to see it is he who had decided to make issue about this, not I. And, exactly what does he mean you know what to do? What are you planning on doing? What is your involvement in all of this?"

[Argos Ewan]

If I hadn't heard what I had just heard I would have thought my Dodya's questions unresonable and unjustified. However I heard everything he had heard himself. "Jace your nopt involved in this too are you?"

[Jace Keller]

I looked to my twin, then to my Dodya and older brother. I scratched my head as I thought about what I was about to say. "Involved? What could there be for me to get involved in?" I questioned. I looked at my Dodya. "What does it matter, unless this family has something to hide? You don't have any deep, dark secrets...do you? If you don't, why worry about it?" I made my point and again my thoughts went to the jumpdrive. My twin was taking a huge risk, so whatever was on was utterly important and I was going to find out very soon.

[Ceres Ewan]

“Come now don’t be like this. Your letting this convict lead you by the nose. Have you even known me to do anything wrong?”

The more I spoke the more it sounded as if I DID have something to hide. “I’ve had enough babble about this.”

I pointed my finger at Jericho. “How dare you come in here and try raising suspicions on me and this family. Especially when it was you all along that did this to us and ended up where you did for it.”

I looked over at the security guards. “I want you to arrest him.” As I gave my order, the guards just looked at me strangely. “Do I not make myself clear?! Do it now!”

Quickly the guards took Jericho in hand and began to take him away.

[Argos Ewan]

I couldn’t believe what my Dodya was doing and stood in front of the security to prevent them from taking Jericho away or off the balcony. “Now stop this! Dodya, what are you doing?”

[Ceres Ewan]

I snapped as I saw Argos stepping in. I reached over and took him by the arm to remove him from the way of the security and pulled him toward me. “Get out of the way! Don’t you get in the middle of this when there is no reason for you to.”

I quickly turned to Jace and raised my other hand at him and pointed a finger at him. “The same thing goes for you too. Especially you for the way you have just spoken to me. Be wise and stay out of this.”

[Jericho Ewan]

I always knew that Jace would remain faithful to the bond we shared. I remained silent as the conversation continued. Jace had all my evidence, so when my Dodya ordered me to be arrested I was not surprised. What surprised me was Argos interception to the fact and going against our Dodya's order.

He is sticking up for me in this? And still, I remained silent and listiened on. I knew what my Dodya was capable of and he would do not stop at anything to do the same or worse to my brothers for trying to stop him.

"Argos, brother, let it go." I told him. "If he has done this to me, he will not stop at anything to do the same to you too, if you two stand in his way..." I wasn't able to finish as Dodya was on me in seconds.

[Ceres Ewan]

Jericho was now babbling on even worse. Something snapped within me and I went directly to him and swung my right fist with all my strength and planted it on his jaw to shut him up.

I looked at the security guards as they staggered from my blow to Jericho to keep their hold on him. “Get him out of here! Do it now!”

As they began to take Jericho away I screamed at him. “You have no idea as to how deeply you have just dug your own grave you little bastitch.

[Argos Ewan]

I watched and heard words and actions come from my Dodya that I never thought I would ever see. “Dodya! What are you doing?! You can’t be serious! He‘s done his time already!”

I looked on as my Dodya looked back at me with the look of death in his eyes. “Alright, alright,” I said as I held my hands up in front of myself as if to hold him off.
