I think the hardest ones for me to pick were Carolina at Minnesota and New Orleans at Green Bay. And I was quite tempted to pick the Cardinals over the Hawks after that 9-point effort against the Lions.

Watching the Browns is enough to drive anyone to drink.

That's the only game I've got right now; too early to really be able to comment on any of the other games. Except that Tampa Bay still hasn't scored a point this season.

JMK

What's with the Florida teams? They're supposed to be much better than this, in both the Dolphins and Bucs cases. Even JAX could be better.

I have NO CLUE on earth what Culpepper was thinking when he threw that INT. My jaw hit the floor when I saw that. Not because it was intercepted, but because I couldn't believe he would throw a beautiful pass to 2 Bills defenders like that. Insane.

He's been sacked 5 times in this game...so far the Culpepper era has been a disaster.

Yog
Sep 17th, 2006, 12:33:32 PM
Yeah, Culpepper looks horrific. The pain never ends for the Dolphins, it seems. The only player I am impressed with is their running back.

JMK
Sep 17th, 2006, 01:24:26 PM
Welker has been good too, but that's it. The Bills are throwing a blanket around Chambers, he's been pretty much invisible all year long. This is excrutiating to watch right now.

Bears win again at home against a Conference team!!! :crack

Detroit and their penalties were insane (like 14 I think).. especially the one that cost them that TD after the interception in the 3rd quarter. They were dominated but at least they did better then the Packers. They actually put points on the board.

Grossman is coming through finally!

oh ... this is Miranda btw :lol

I would have been 8-1 if it hadn't of been for those idiot Eagles. How do you blow a 17 point 4th quarter lead at home?! Way to crawl into a shell Reed.

Well, the Dolphins are just putrid right now. So much for preseason hype.

Kale

8-1 so far, thanks to the Giants and Vikings snatching victory from the jaws of defeat in overtime.

Two more of my picks are in jeopardy, though. Come on St. Louis and Denver!

Jedi Master Carr

I didn't know Denver had a baseball team :p Seriously that game looks ugly. I can't watch it because it isn't on around here but man it must total defense in that game.

Jedi Master Carr
Sep 17th, 2006, 05:19:42 PM
Well KC lost in OT. The defense was just warn out from that mile high air. Too bad the offense didn't have anything, but without Green it was tough. Huard is just a back up and isn't that good really. The defense played great, if they can get any offense maybe they can do something at the end of the season.

Kale

I had the dolphins pegged to win the afc east and they look like a pee wee football team

Denver has looked bad, but their defense has been awesome, 0tds in 2 games even though their offense and turnovers have helped to get the oppossing team into their red zone 7 times

11-3 for the day not too bad

12-3 so far. Not a bad week, but it looks like this week was a lot easier to call than was opening week. It would have been an incredible week for me if my Dolphins hadn't crapped themselves and the Eagles not completely fallen apart. But at least it was great to see Eli have the best game of his career.

I can't remember back to after week 2 of last year but I don't think there were this many inept teams. The Dolphins, Raiders, Packers, Buccaneers, Panthers, Browns, Titans, Texans, Lions, Chiefs, and Redskins are all winless and look awful. Of course, teams like the Raiders, Packers, Titans, Browns and Texans were all expected to be terrible, but who would have thought that the Panthers (a lot of SB predictions for them), Dolphins and Buccaneers would have been this bad? 11 winless teams after week 2. :x

The Chiefs problems are really with that inury to Green right now. They probably could have won that game with him yesterday. Him being hurt killed their offense. I think if they get him back they can salvage the season and maybe win 9-10 games.

Well if they want to win 10 games at this point they will have to go 10-4. That's going to be tough for them, especially since he's going to be out at least another week. Plus they play in a very tough division, even if the Raiders are in it.

Well there last 6 games are easy, 4 of them are at home and the two road games are easy road games. They could go 5-1 in that stretch. That is the only reason why I think it is possible. As for the other game that they will miss him for it will be for the 49ers in Kansas City. I think they will win that one mainly because they are at home.

carr you have been spouting that cheifs nonsense since the preseason when I told you they would win 7 games, now I am thinking 6 maybe only 5. Losing Green hurt but there is more problems with the cheifs that that. Their offensive line took a bigger hit then I expected when they lost Roaf, they still have no wide recievers, and Larry Johnson ain't no Priest Holmes. Holmes would have won that game for them somehow yesterday.

I am fan I have got to be optomistic. Besides I wouldnt' call it nonsense who knows they could turn it around when Green gets healthy. Johnson did the best he could Holmes couldn't have won with that bumb Huard, he is horrible. I agree if Green can't get healthy they are in trouble they might finish 6-10. I was saying if Green gets hurt 10 is really best case scenerio and it would take a lot of factors. Hey I have got to have hope if things break down I will just start rooting for the Patriots for the rest of the season.

You know what I'm really getting sick of with NFL play by play guys?

The fact that it seems that after almost every single play, depending on whether the defending or attacking player made the play, they tell you who he is, what year he's in, and what school he's from. Good grief! Who cares! Once in a while its fine...but good lord, give it a rest! What's next? A complete family history?

I've noticed this over the past couple years, but for whatever reason tonight, Mike Tirico is annoying me. It's just about mute time.

How about the Steelers "awesome" rushing game?

Kale
Sep 18th, 2006, 09:38:48 PM
13-3, and the only game I actually cared about went the wrong way. :(

Jacksonville's defense really looked awesome; they beat the Steelers silly. The Steelers D played almost as well, but they were on the field a lot longer. Props to the Jaguars; I really doubt Cincy can come anywhere near that defensive performance, but the Steelers obviously have things to work on for next week. Roethlisberger still needs to shake some rust off; he overthrew quite a few open receivers.

Wasn't the problem. 13 carries for 26 yards as a team does not win games. Take away Willie Parker's 8 yarder and thats 12 carries for 18 yards.

JMK
Sep 19th, 2006, 07:09:32 AM
12-4 for the week I think.

The Steelers were smothered all game long. Jacksonville really played an incredible defensive game. They didn't give up one big play all game long, and for that you have to give them all the credit in the world. Big Ben looked rusty, but so did the entire team IMO.

With that win, Jacksonville goes to 2-0 and officially serves notice that they just might be for real. They've beaten 2 good teams now.

jjwr
Sep 19th, 2006, 08:28:24 AM
The Steelers are overrated to begin with, they were not that great of a team last year and instead rode the mode of getting hot at the right time. Obviously they played the best in the playoffs but looking at the year as a whole weren't the best team. THis year they may make the playoffs but it won't be a lock.
