I have an urge to drag Senator Hesith out of retirement and translocate him to a immediately post-Clone Wars Imperial Senate. Might be fun to show the Senate in its final decline. What do people think?

Should be interesting. You know he might make an excellent Rebel. Former Senator almost killed, now vengeful Rebel operative who goes into intereting asides before killing people.....should be quite interesting

The Imperial Senate was completely dissolved, of course, right before the Battle of Yavin.

It would be in the past (relative to the present day in this SW Universe.) There's, what, twenty years in which there is still a Senate and we don't know all that much about them.

They had little power. They just could advise things and such. Basically had barley any democractic power beyond voting for who would replace the Emperor if he were to die.

Which he didn't, except recently (:( ). So, there power was basically stagnant or dwindling from what could be seen at the ending point of EP III

Ah, but you see that could be fun. The Senators still acting like they run the show. Some idealists. Some who have been duped by the new order. Others taking what they can from the new regime.
