The Eclipse began it’s decent into the atmosphere of the Bespin Colony as Captain Ewan looked over his Navigation system as he viewed the maps showing the Cloud City map.

“Where to land,” I thought as I looked over the map. “There, level 122. Ship repairs can be done there and it’ll give the crew time to catch their breath. The Lynx turned out to be much more than we expected.”

I shook my head as I continued to think as I looked over at Lieutenant Rakai who had become like a son to me. He was only in his position temporarily due to his mother’s capture who was in his position before she was captured during the raid upon the Lynx.

"Six weeks ago, how could it have gone so badly? I should have seen what was about to happen? How could I have allowed my own love to ever get into such a position. It won’t happen again!”

I keyed in the entry for the ships landing and opened the connection for Cloud City Control. “CCC, this is Corvette ship Eclipse. Requesting landing upon level 122, please reply.”

After a moment the Cloud City Control replied, “Eclipse, this is Cloud City Control. You are cleared for landing on level 122 docking bay 734C.”

"Docking bay 734C understood,” I replied as I reached over and shut off the connection.

I looked back at my Lieutenant and put my hand upon his shoulder. “Have faith. Your mother’s apprehension isn’t going unanswered.” I reached over and flipped a couple of the ships controls. “It's just that right now we have to lick our wounds and do some repairs. I would rather die than to loose her. If nothing better happens you are my responsibility. So you are not alone, ever.”

I sat there like a stone statue, flinching slightly to his touch. I remained silent, I couldn’t seem to find any words to say. I saw the whole event and had been powerless to do anything. I failed her, I failed my captain…I failed myself.

What had happened? For weeks, I asked myself that question over and over again and yet no answer would come to me. This ship had been raiding for the past forty-some years and never had such an unfavorable outcome. We knew what we were doing we knew the costs…all of us. We’d raided Empire ships before, it was supposed to be a medical friget and we knew where to sell the supplies for a huge profit.

But, right before we hit, my mother, our acting Lieutenant told me something didn’t feel right about this. I remembered telling her that Jace had made sure of its cargo, and it had minimal persons onboard and since it was out in the middle of nowhere, what could possibly go wrong?

I was wrong, I was terribly wrong. The ship that had been marked and listed as a medical supply ship was a decoy…it was actually a military supply ship, with a huge amount of military personnel. We didn’t get much further than the hangar bay, when we were viciously attacked from all angles, we lost four members of our team and still many others were injured, including myself. I instinctively made it to some cover of another ship, right before I was hit in the lower leg by blaster fire. It had been all around us and as I went down, my mother came for me.

“I’ll cover you, Aramis! Get back to the ship!” She screamed as she fired more shots.

Two of my shipmates ran over and helped me to my feet. “Lieutenant, you’re going to get cut off, there’s too many!” One of them yelled.

“Get him back to the ship, I’ll take care of myself!” She ordered.

That was the last thing, I heard from her. As I was being taken up the hatchway, I turned to see our group all heading our way, including my mother and that’s when I saw her get hit in the upper thigh and she went down. I remember screaming to go back as our men piled in behind us. It was too late, there were too many against us to go back…

I listened to my Captain as he spoke. “I just don’t understand…why the decoy? Is the Empire becoming that elusive? They own nearly everything now, why be so sneaky?” I was seventy-two years old, and my race could live to be over 500, so I was considered young yet and this whole Empire take over thing, was nothing but nonsense to me.

"Lieutenant, you've got to remember one thing. We are a raider ship and it was inevitable sooner or later they are going to fight back. Over the years we finally made the one big mistake." I leaned over and pointed My finger at the Lieutenant. "Learn a lesson from this. Things aren't always what they seem. Sooner or later they are going to respond just as they did. It's just that we were stupid enough to not see it before it happened. We’ve become to complacent. THAT won't ever happen again. We can no longer afford complacency."

I drew my finger back as I continued. "Regardless of our own emotions and personal association with anyone on board we do what we must. Even if it is at our own cost. That was why your mother was captured. She ended up that way thinking of you and her emotions cost her the price. Now we're going to have to get her back. The worst part is that they are going to expect us to do exactly that and are going to be waiting for us."

I suddenly felt the ship shift as it penetrated the atmosphere. I pointed across the console to the Lieutenants side of the console. "Switch on the plasma stabilizers, we're drifting."

I nodded and did as I was told. I had learned a lot from the Captain over the many years I'd been here. Piloting was one of my skills, but I didn't really find it compelling enough for it to become the primary balance in my life. Instead, my place was in my mechanical skills, I could repair just about anything you put in front of me and if I didn't have the parts to fix it I would come up with some crazy idea that worked anyway. It was my niche in life, I loved working with my hands and I think, due to that I became very tight-knit to everyone in the crew. We were a family after all, and since our losses we had become even closer.

Except in the past six weeks, I had pulled somewhat away keeping a distance down in the fighter hold working on this and that as long as my leg would allow. The blaster burn had been bad and I still had plenty of healing to do, I didn't lead on that it actually hurt like hell still.

"I have learned from my mistakes, Captain. I just wish I could've helped her. We're going to need more hands to get her back I just hope that Keller comes through with his words about gaining us some new hands here." I replied emotionlessly as I pushed a long strand of light brown hair behind my pointed ears.

I looked at the young man as he pulled his hair back. "I know you've learned quite a bit and your going to learn more too. Some things just take time. Some things can only be learned by experience. Gods only know how much you've learned this time out."

I looked up and found the headset and put the set on and flipped the internal communications switch. "Attention, All crewmembers, prepare for landing. We'll be landing in the next few minutes. Everyone brace for landing. Once we have landed repair crews will be needed to begin repairs and inspection of damages. Upon landing all members are granted one day leave once your stations are locked down."

I suddenly heard a cheer of the shipmates after my announcement.

After the announcement I removed my headset and turned the communications switch off. I looked at my controls and made several adjustments as I spoke to Aramis. "I too hope Keller can come up with some mission specialist for us. I think we're going to need some this time around. So tell me, have you given any thoughts to what you have in mind for your future? You know you are always welcome to stay with us on the Eclipse. You never know maybe one day I can hand the Captainship of the Eclipse over to you if you work hard enough for it and prove yourself worthy of it."

I shrugged slightly as he mentioned the part about my future. "I like it here, Captain." I replied. "This is where I belong. I signed on with my mother 40 years ago, she taught me everything I know and since I've picked up quite a bit more on my own. I don't see anything else in store for me right now, Captain. Besides, how are you going to get through half the locks as silently as I can without me?" I asked smuggly.

For the first time in six weeks, I smiled. It wasn't a complete smile, but it was a smile nonetheless.

I looked at the boy and knew what he was saying was right. "Yes you are good at what you do but is that all you have planned for yourself?" I looked crossly at the boy, "people need higher goals for themselves, otherwise they just exisit and life passes them by. I think you could be much better than that if you'd just let yourself reach out."

I could now see the Cloud City beginning to come into view as I began to bring the ship in on it's landing beacon. By the ships nav-computer I could see we were right on track. "I really think it is something you should consider about yourself."

"Let us find the Lieutenant first, Argos." I said as I switched on the controls for the landing cycle to begin. "I can't think of much else just yet, for it's hard telling what the Empire has done to her."

They'd hurt her, I could see it in my dreams when I tried to sleep. I just attempted not to lead on, I couldn't for her mate's sake. Inleshat didn't require much sleep, about three hours per standard day. I thanked the Gods for that, for lately I'd only gained about an hour a day. My mind was full, my body was tired and sleep I still fought for.

"Have you heard anything from Keller since our last communication?" I asked to break the silence between us, to ease our minds of what I'm sure we were both thinking. She'd be dead, if we didn't hurry in the next few weeks. But, there was just no way to do a rescue if we still lacked some personnel to help, we could use all the help we could get. Once we got her back, things would get back to normal and we could continue our raids.

Vincent Keller, was our information specialist. He was good at what he did, with the exception of our last raid that nearly killed all of us. We could always count on his information to be very useful and three weeks ago he took one of our fighters to scout for new shipmates. A week ago, we were informed to meet him here, Bespin at some lowlife pub.

After we entered the landing sequence, I watched as the Eclipse landed within the designated landing bay and eased to a smooth landing. I reached over and shut down the Phase Motor Generators and the ship went silent. "That was a good landing," I said as I put my right hand onto Aramis's shoulder. I stood up and flipped overhead switches and turned several controls to the ship.

"No, I've not heard anything from Keller, but then that is exactly what I told him to do. We must not allow transmissions between our ships right now. That is a precaution I took to keep the Empire from knowing where we were going or doing. We'll meet him at the Booster Pub on level 124. We may have to wait for him there to see him if he isn't there already. As my Lieutenant, you will be joining me to meet him."

After shutting the ship's controls down I walked over to a nearby compartment. From there I pulled out two capes with the Eclipse insignia upon their collars and two blaster belts. I handed one of the belts and cape to Aramis. "Here, you'll need these before we leave the ship." The cape I now handed him was his mother's and showed the pips on the collar showing the rank of Lieutenant.

Aramis Rakai

I quickly slipped on the belt and fastened it, my blaster hung at my hip and felt very comforting. I wasn't used to wearing the cape that he now handed me. It was my mother's. I was used to wearing the brown leather jacket that was hand-made for me from Iskonia. It already had the markings for the Eclipse on the back and it was a special leather, that could be immersed in water, it had slits in the arms where my fins could emerge easily. I sighed as my hands traced over the insignia. I handed it back.

"I can't wear this, Captain. I'm sorry." I told him, not being defiant just truthful. "If I end up being your Lieutenant permanantly, I'll have the rank placed on my collar."

Three of our members began coming up towards that lounge that we were in. "Aramis, when are you going to get to that lifter on the Sted?"

The Sted was our favorite fighter on the ship. I raised an eyebrow and replied. "If you hadn't noticed, it's already done! Besides, I didn't see you busting your bum down there to give me a hand now did I?" My words came out a little more vemently than planned, but I hated being put on the spot in front of the Captain.

"Okay, okay." He held up his hands in mock confusion. "Don't blow a gasket." The one said as the three members quickly exited the ship and tried to keep from laughing.

The truth was, the crew liked me when I was just Aramis, but now that I'm acting Lieutenant...it was turning into a nighmare. In the past six weeks, most were still fine with me, but there were the few that couldn't resist giving me a hard time about every little thing I did or didn't do. It took everything in me to keep from slapping a few of them and this was one of those times.

I leaned against the cabin doorway and watched how Aramis handled himself. "Why did you let them treat you like that," I asked angrily. "You are my Lieutenant and you had better darn well act like it. It's the only way your going to get their respect. It is what you deserve and your rank demands it. Even if your not your mother you are still next in command to her."

"Look, having the rank isn't about how you feel about it or if you feel it is your place or not. If I felt it wasn't your place I wouldn't be giving you this cape. Everyone on board this ship knows you are in the postion you are now in and they know you deserve it. To allow them to treat you like you just allowed them to breeds disorder on board this ship. If we're going to have disorder on board this ship then it is going to do nothing but make it impossible to get your mother back. Do you understand what I mean," I asked as I handed the cape back to him.

Aramis Rakai
Aug 14th, 2006, 07:57:44 PM
"I'm a mechanic and computer slicer! One of the best damn mechanics and computer slicers you've got! I'm not my mom and I never will be!" I replied harshly as shook my head, refused the cape again and stepped past him and down the hatch.

I didn't like talking about my mom, when she wasn't here. I'd been on edge ever since she'd been gone and no one understood why and I didn't want to talk about. My nightmare began one hour before the raid...

"We can't afford for you to leave, Aramis. We need you here! You're the best asset to our team!" She told me.

"I need other things, Mom! I want to go to college, make a way for my own life. I can't stay here forever in your shadow!" I yelled.

"My shadow!?! Is that what you think you are...my shadow?!? If that is all you think you are, fine! Leave once we get this job done, walk out on all of us and once you do...you might as well keep walking." She told me as she threw down the screwdriver she was holding and walked off.

"Well, maybe I will!!" I yelled as I kicked the toolbox that was nearby.

Now, she was gone and I never had a chance to take back what I said.

I blindly walked ahead, not even knowing where I was headed, no one understood.

Argos Ewan
Aug 14th, 2006, 08:20:04 PM
I watched as Aramis walked out. It was becoming more and more obvious to me that he had to much on his mind. None the less what I had told him has got to sink in or any chance of getting his mother back could be doomed.

As I walked out of the Pilots Station I proceeded toward the hatch as I tied my cape on. As I exited the ships main hatch I saw Aramis standing in the docking bay. I walked up to him and put his mother's cape into his hand. "Here, put this on or go back to the ship and stay there. It's up to you." I turned away and proceeded toward the docking bay blastdoors. I stood there and waited for the doors to open.

Aramis Rakai
Aug 14th, 2006, 08:39:48 PM
I looked down at the cape in my hand. It was all I had right now, we all took risks in this business and it had just never hit so close to home until now.

"We are going to get you back and until then, I'll keep your cape warm." I said outloud, then placed the cape over my shoulders. Pulling my hair from beneath the fabric, my fingers brushed over her insignia.

I promised myself right there that I would find her. I made my way over to the Captain and stood beside him.

"I'm ready, Captain." I told him as I readjusted my belt.

Argos Ewan
Aug 14th, 2006, 08:55:22 PM
I turned and looked at my Lieutenant and saw he now had his mother's cape on. I turned back to face the door and spoke to Aramis as the door opened. "Yes, now you are. Then let us proceed."

I walked though the door with pride with the one person I wanted next to my side. As we walked down the corridor I saw several people looking at the two of us as I walked with the pride of the ship. We caught a turbo lift just as people were exiting it. We waited until everyone had exited the lift and I stepped forward into it. As the doors closed behind us I turned and faced the doors. "Level 124 please," I said giving the lift it's command.

"Level 124," it repeated my command.

I turned and looked at Aramis. "You made the right choice and I'm proud of you." I looked up at the scale which showed our decent to our level I had requested. "On this level, stay sharp. Make yourself aware of your surroundings and those around you. The knowing of any trap is the first step of evading it."

Aramis Rakai
Aug 14th, 2006, 09:09:19 PM
Staying sharp was one of my skills, I allowed myself to step away from the guilt and anger I felt and into a more calm feeling. It was a strange aura I could bring myself into.

I took a deep breath and nodded. "Yes, Captain." My voice was no longer strained, but calm and once again relaxed.

I was ready for anything that was thrown at me.

Argos Ewan
Aug 14th, 2006, 09:22:17 PM
As the turbo lift stopped I exited it with Aramis at my side and walked to the Booster Pub and I stopped in front of the Pub as I looked around.

"Here we are. Once inside we'll need to find a secluded booth for privacy. Stay aleart," I warned Aramis as I proceeded into the pub.

Aramis Rakai
Aug 14th, 2006, 09:47:56 PM
I nodded silently as we entered. My reaction was subtle the place was run down, very run down. It was dark to begin with, creating that eerie sensation as you walked through. Reminded me of a dark, dank cave, critters included I was sure.

The second thing that I noted, was the smell. A mixture between body odor and bad whiskey, made me nearly want to gag. I walked by the array of patrons at the bar and decided to stay away from that particular area...just from the smell.

The tables and chairs were all worn and the beings in them looked even more worn and weathered. Their creepy eyes following the Captain and I as we made our way to a back booth. I chose one away from a hall that obviously led to the 'freshers. It lacked the clean fragrance that I was used too, instead it smelled of bile and urine.

I shook my head in disgust as I went to the opposite walll and took a seat in an old worn, seat-torn booth. The table had sticky stuff and I motioned for waitress to clean it off.

Our waitress walked over, she had on a tight leather skirt and some skimpy top. She wiped up the mess. "What can I get you two boys?" Her voice was nasally and high, she sounded like some weirdo from some smut show.

"I'll take a tequila sunrise." I answered, hoping the glass would be clean. I looked at the Captain to see what his impression was of this place and from the look I was getting, I'm pretty sure he was less than impressed too. At least, I wasn't the only one.

Argos Ewan
Aug 14th, 2006, 10:02:06 PM
The old pub seemed like it had never changed. I could tell by Aramis's facial expressions he didn't like the smell of the place. I smiled as I remembered the first time I had ever been here.

As we sat down at a booth I could see Aramis becoming a little squeamish with the environment as he ordered his drink. "I'll take a glass of Mortorian wine please," I told the waitress.

As she left to get our drink I leaned back and stretched the full length of my booth seat and put my feet up onto the seat as I leaned my back against the wall. As I did I pulled my blaster holster up to bare the barrel of the gun. Once done I pulled my cape over my blaster to hide it from view. "How do you like this place," I asked Aramis. "The fragrance here is heavenly isn't it?"

Aramis Rakai
Aug 14th, 2006, 11:22:35 PM
I raised an eyebrow as looked at him. "Heavenly...isn't quite the word I would use. Surely, it wasn't you who chose this lovely establishment. I've seen alley's look and smell nicer." I leaned back in my seat and dug into my jacket pocket and pulled out a pack of cigarettes. A bad habit, but hell I was a pirate, I was allowed.

Besides, something had to cover up the smell. I lit it and took a long draw then released the smoke out a few moments later.

Solani Naleen
Aug 15th, 2006, 12:07:52 PM
Solani's eyes immediately spot the two newcomers in the bar. Dressed as nice as they were, they were not hard to spot. Those two are here for business which suits her just fine. Grabbing her beer, the cheapest drink on the menu, she walks over to the two newcomers and seats herself down next to the younger man.

"Hope you don't mind me joining you?"

She asks casually before she takes a sip of her beer.

Aramis Rakai
Aug 15th, 2006, 12:13:48 PM
The young lady took me by surprise as she sat down next to me. I instinctively scooted over to give her room, but not before I got a good whiff of her hair. Clean, freshly shampooed...it was nice.

"Not at all." I said calmly as took the cigarette and put it out. "What brings a young lady like yourself to an establishment like this?" Could she be one of the few that Keller sent?

Argos Ewan
Aug 15th, 2006, 04:40:30 PM
I could now see this intrusion didn't seem to be what we were looking for. "Excuse me miss. We are expecting some visitors that we are waiting on." I reached into my vestment pocket and pulled out a credit. I flipped the credit onto the table in front of the woman and then waved my hand toward the bar. "If you'll please, we would like to attend to our business here."

Jace Keller
Aug 15th, 2006, 06:44:24 PM
His dark hair hung loosely into his eyes as he entered the establishment. His eyes were bloodshot and his head was pounding. Sweat covered his brow as he shook with chills beneath the dark brown cloak he wore.

Jace Keller coughed as he saw the very people he wanted to see, in the back. He made his way there as he heard the Captain talk to the pretty young lady sitting by young Aramis.

"Dismissing such a pretty thing, Captain? Let our young Lieutenant keep the young lady company, while I talk a bit?" His voice was deep with congestion as he coughed.

Argos Ewan
Aug 15th, 2006, 06:53:21 PM
I got up from the booth and looked at Aramis. "I'll be right back. We're just going over here," I said as I pointed to a nearby booth.

I put my hand onto my brother's shoulder and pointed toward the other booth nearby. "Let's sit down over here." As I walked toward the booth I could feel the warmth from my brother's body. "Your not looking very well. What is wrong?" I stood and waited for him to sit down as I looked around the pub to see if anyone was paying any attention to us.

Jace Keller
Aug 15th, 2006, 07:14:09 PM
"Nothing a little whiskey won't cure." Came the reply as his ailing figure nearly fell into the booth. Jace straightened and coughed deeply into his fist, after calming he brought out a tankard and drank deeply, then coughed again.

Once quieted, Jace looked at his older brother from beneath his hood. "I have the coordinates for that ship you're seeking." Jace shook with chills and had to lock his jaw to keep his teeth from chattering. He hated being sick!

Argos Ewan
Aug 15th, 2006, 07:36:55 PM
I always hated it when my brother drank. Even as good as he was I could never understand how he ever kept his head clear to even think when he was drinking.

I leaned across the table and whispered to him. "So tell me, where is the Lynx at? How long has it been where it is at?"

Jace Keller
Aug 15th, 2006, 07:51:29 PM
"It's in the Mid-Rim in a system called Abhean and has been there for the past week. This system is known for it's orbital shipyards and some of the best ships ever made were created there." He coughed again and tried to clear his throat.

"My opinion on this is, they are making upgrades to that ship and waiting. Brother, I know what she meant to you...but, I fear if you go there...that is where the Eclipse Raiders will die."

Jace leaned back and removed his hood, his hair was soaked beneath as he ran a hand through it to get it out of his face. His Iskonian pointed ears barely shown through the heavy tuffs he had. Jace was an informat, he knew where to get the information he needed. It was a skill he'd honed in on and one that would put a deathmark on his head if he were ever to be discovered. The 176 year-old Iskonian, went to great lengths to help his brother in any way he possibly could and to keep him safe, the Ishonian changed his name. If he were caught, Argos would be safe he would make sure of it.

Jace put his head in his hands for a moment to ease the pain he felt. A moment later, he pulled a cigarette from his pocket and lit it, coughing deeply after the initial draw.

Argos Ewan
Aug 15th, 2006, 08:20:57 PM
"The Abhean Shipyards huh," I asked as I leaned back onto my seat. "I'm familiar with those shipyards. It's the very ones that the Chu'unthor was built at in 500 BBY." Knowing what I knew I smiled at my brother. "Yeah, that was a powerful ship like many that have come out of there. However while there, they are vunurable. As vunerable as a Wam-bats without teeth and wings."

Jace Keller
Aug 15th, 2006, 08:32:45 PM
He flicked away some ash before taking another draw. He blew it out with a cough. "Damn things!" He muttered sickly.

Jace looked at his brother. "If you are truly pent up on going after that ship, I'm with you..." He went into a coughing fit, panting afterwards.

"But...I'm afraid, I need rest...been too long in this damn city, the cold air has done a number on the lungs..." Another deep cough.

Jace just wanted to sleep, it had been far too long going on one hour here and there. It had finally caught up with him. "We haven't lost anymore crew?"

Argos Ewan
Aug 15th, 2006, 08:57:07 PM
I watched as I saw Jace about to over extend his limits and knew just how he felt. I had been there several times myself. "We do need one or two more to get on board. If we have to do it with what we have we can though. I hate doing anything short handed. Using you as an addition will help though. I know you'll help out quite a bit once your rested."

I looked Jace straight in the eyes, "Jace, get to the Eclipse's Aid Station and get yourself looked at. After that get your rest." I reached over and put my hand onto his shoulder. "I mean rest......no booze." I took my hand from his shoulder and reached over and took his bottle from him. I set the bottle at the far end of the table away from him. "I want you straightened out and conscious for this mission. Your no good for the type of mission we'll be experiencing like you are right now."

I leaned back and smiled at him. "I'll have your ship put into our fighter bay. Meanwhile, you get yourself rested for a fight. I still have your old quarters reserved for you. So use it."

Jace Keller
Aug 15th, 2006, 09:15:12 PM
Jace nodded as he placed the hood back over his sweat-soaked head. He wasn't drunk, but he didn't argue with his brohter. Jace respected his brother more than anyone and he would never do anything to put a mission in jeopardy. He too, was present as they knew Quay'Na had been left behind.

Jace stood and then placed a hand on Argos' shoulder. "We will find her, Argos. I've done my damndest to do everything in my power to find that ship for you..." He coughed, then straightened.

"I won't let you down again." Jace said with regret in his voice. He felt to blame for their loss, he was the one who got the information...decoy information and he'd never let himself rest after that horrible mistake.

He turned to leave and stopped, he looked back at his brother. "And just for the record, I'm not drunk...just utterly sick." Jace walked away a moment later, coughing the whole way.

Argos Ewan
Aug 15th, 2006, 09:34:05 PM
I listened to my brother as he spoke to me. He quickly walked away before I could say anything to him. I knew it wasn't his fault what happened to Quay'Na. In fact it wasn't anyone's fault that this even happened. I knew nobody could help it that the raid was a sucker punch to us. One that taught me a much needed lesson, a very costly one in my book. None the less I knew that the next time I saw Jace I was going to have to explain this to him. It just wasn't his fault and he doesn't deserve to carry the burden that it was.

As I watched Jace walk out of the pub I turned my attention back to Aramis. I stepped back to our booth and the young lady was still there with him. I sat down and looked at the young woman, "your still here? What do you want?"

Aramis Rakai
Aug 15th, 2006, 10:06:05 PM
We really hadn't gotten past much besides the drinks we were having and the weather, I on the other hand was too busy trying to figure out what Keller wanted with the Captain. Unfortunately for me, I couldn't read their lips, especially since Jace had his hood up and his back to me.

Jace looked horrible, it was the worst I think I'd ever seen him and I'd seen him in some pretty bad times over the years. Jace had been into everything at one time or another. He drank, smoked and had even had bouts with drugs from time to time. But, over all he was a good guy and it seemed he always was on the move. I heard at one time their was a price on his head, but that was just some of the guys trying to scare me.

If I ever needed anyone on my back, besides the Captain, it would definitely be Jace.

I looked at the Captain who looked agitated about the female and diverted the question with another question.

"Is he going to be alright, Captain? He looked dreadful."

"Yeah he'll be fine. He's just a little tired," I replied to Aramis as I continued looking at the woman next to him.

I still hadn't gotten a reply from this woman and I really wanted to know what she had in mind. "I believe I asked you a question. Is there something you wanted?"

Jace had to stop and rest outside. His lungs were burning and his throat was on fire, it took everything he had to just to remain upright. He slowly pressed some buttons on the 'watch' he had on his wrist and it gave him coordinates to the Eclipse. No one else knew about this special timepiece, but Argos. In anyone elses hands, it merely would not work.

He finally made it to the ship and used the same 'timepiece' to open the hatch and let himself in. Dizzily, he made his way down the corridor.

"Hey, Keller! You're back!" Came a happy yell from down the corridor. "Hey, man you don't look so good."

"I..." The corridor was beginning to spin before his eyes. "I don't feel so good..." Before he could say anything more the ground came up to greet him and then darkness.

OOC: Hint, the hatch is open...perfect timing for a stowaway....as they are taking care of Jace....

"What? Not gonzo..."

Indictment nuzzled in the depths of Elijawn's two bronze orbs. The copper pair spared no room as the damp floods kept his features bleak and disturbed. Even his toned had been attuned for despair. The alluring slant of his contort eyes sharpened as he started at his pull pockets. Snag of his fingers yanked at the insides, exposing the lint. The particles toppled to the floor under his hopeless view. No comedy settled in his face. All the humor sunk in the vacuum of his troubled heart as he leaned against the wall for refugee of his faltering legs.

The day had been bleak. Comeback had finally found him after his theft, haggles and free bargains throughout the city. During his trade he bumped into a stylish scum that kept a nice blaster tucked away behind his coat. Only a moment consumed his might, and all things altered. There wasn't an item to his name beside the attire in his bag slung over his back. Not that the bag was much to claim. It was no more than a piece of old Dewback cloth, embroiled and formed nearly four centuries previous.

Anguish captured his life in it's grasp, and was too selfish to let him go. He wanted Elijawn all to his own. Trampled by the affects, he linger at the wall for more than a moment, hoping that something could warrant his interest. Intrigue dangled over step by step as a few woman went past, but he had no place. Still he was a child amidst men, and not a single eye was sent his way without a gracious smile.

The smiles weren't lovely though. They were demeaning smiles, ones necessary to keep strangers intact. Felt like he would never gain the respect he rightfully deserved...or at least he wished for. Every anticipation had faulted. Even simple missions back with Raurn had twisted somehow, leaving their pockets at a dwindle. The past few years just didn't like him one bit.

"Kriff!"

Contempt propelled the youth off the wall. Turmoil tirade his soles, sending him into a stomp as he passed through the halls. Trot after trot led him astray through the array of people. Ocean of flesh and beings pressed against his being as he ran against the tide. No longer would he surf the roam of destruction, he simply would take it in. There was always the slight chance to emerge victor to the overwhelming odds.

Then, it hit him. In eye shot came a large ship. Pasted a top a landing bay, with it's hatch awaiting his arrival he sped. Soon he would be home...or at least a new home. Anything was better than Cloud City, where limitations had already had been met. There was no room for growth when the clouds were the limit.

"Astral!"

"Indeed," I replied as I raised an eyebrow. I leaned foreword and placed My left arm upon the table. With my right hand I reached down and took a hold of my blaster and kept it beneath the table top.

"If I WERE interested in employing anyone, what kind of service could I possibly expect from you?" I must be cautious with this one. Already she has proven that she could be something that she isn't. I only hope Aramis isn't foolish enough to oversee this.

Suddenly I felt a nudge upon my wristband on my left wrist and glanced at the mild indicator light that was concealed by my skin as it blinked twice and then went off and remained off. Someone has entered the Eclipse that didn't have any clearance to do so. I will have to investigate this when I return to the ship. Right now I am curious about this one.

Jace was taken to the Med bay by two of his shipmates, Reeves and Gideon. A short time later, Gideon closed the hatch.

"I'll alert the Captain, he'll probably want to know what's going on and that Keller got back." He told his friend.

Reeves nodded. "Alright, I'll go back with Keller and see if he's going to wake up."

"Aye!" Gideon answered as he took his comlink out and contacted the Captain. "Captain, this is Gideon do you read me?"

"Keller arrived a little while ago, Captain. He's terribly sick, he collapsed in the main corridor. Celeste is looking over him now, she says he's got some type of bad broncial pneumonia. His temp is over 104, and he's not awakened. Celeste said he may need more medical attention than she can give him here and she wants to know what you want us to do." I have been contacted by a Doctor Jade who was now appearantly the Ship's Doctor on board the Eclipse.

Argos Ewan, my dear friend. I've not seen you since........it's been a long time.

Having got together everything I need for this case of possible bronchial pneumonia, I put on my wrist band from my previous visit. With everything I need now ready, I walked out of my quarters and headed to the Eclipse and found it in the very docking bay I was informed about.

As I walk into the docking bay I can't help but to say hello to an old friend. As I walk up to the nose of the ship I raise my right hand and let it slip along it's surface as I walk toward the hatch. "Hello there old friend," I said as I walked along the length of the ship toward the hatch.

Once I got to the ship's hatch, I entered into the hatchway of the ship. As I enter I see one of the shipmates as he walked by me. "You there. I am Doctor Aquilo. Please contact Doctor Jade and let her know I am here. I need to see her immediately."

"Very well," the shipmate replied. "Please wait here and I will get her." The shipmate turned and walked out of my view further into the ship.

As I set my luggage down I began to calmly wait for the ship's doctor. Even though I have been here before, I feel it wise to respect the ship's protocol and patiently wait for the ship's doctor.

"His fever is spiking at 104.5, I've gotten an iceblanket to help keep it down, but it's still rising and I haven't got the meds I need to take care of the infection. His breathing is ragged as well, I've put a breath mask on him and that's helped some." I explained.

"Exactly, and there was very little more I could do without the aid of a medical center. I'm glad you got here." I said as I opened the door and led her into the room.

As soon as Celeste opened the door my heart lept from my chest and I quickly walked to Jace's bedside. "Jace, oh no! Jace, Jace can you hear me," I asked as I brushed his hair from his sweaty brow. He didn't respond to my voice at all. The heat coming up from his brow felt hotter than I anticipated. I quickly pushed my left hand under his ice blanket and could see the ice blanket had lost it's chilling effect. I quickly pulled the blanket off his body.

"We need another ice blanket in here stat," I ordered. "We've got to get this temperature down NOW! Bring two of them!"

I leaned down and whispered into Jace's ear as I took his hand. "Jace, it's me, Avalon. I'm here."

I ran to my storage closet and grabbed two iceblankets, as I ran back I kept one package under my arm while I ripped open the other and began to shake it to get the chemicals to begin chilling. "Here!" I said as I threw it over Jace and ripped open the other one.

Before Celeste threw out the first blanket I rolled Jace onto his side. As Celeste threw out the fresh ice blanket I held him on his side with one hand as I folded the the ice blanket behind him. I placed the blanket under Jace and laid his body upon it. I quickly went to the other side of Jace and lifted him up from that side and pulled the blanket out from under him now placing his back on top the blanket.

While she drew out and prepared the next blanket I opened my case and reached into it and pulled out a hypo-spray. I plugged in the drug catridge I needed and adjusted the hypo to inject the amount needed for Jace's first dose.

I put the hypo into my teeth as I grabbed the next blanket with my hands that were now free. I pulled the blanket over his body and then pulled the hypo from my teeth and quickly injected it into his arm. As it injected it hissed as the injection was done.

After the injection I placed the hypo on a nearby table and then massaged his arm to help the drug to flow into his bloodstream quicker.

I watched helplessly as Jace was given the drugs. I just prayed it would work. Jace was part of my family, he was the Captain's brother...yes, I knew. Very few did, and those who did kept it to themselves. If Jace was ever to get into a Imperial entanglement, he was as good as dead. It wasn't hard for me to find the information, I was the doctor of this ship and I make it my business to know everyone on it. I wouldn't be a good doctor if I didn't.

"Is there anything else I can do?" I finally asked.

My body and lungs were on fire. What was happening? I opened my eyes just barely, but everything around me was hazy. I couldn't see straight, nor hear correctly.

Angels...it was an angel I had heard...Avalon...

Had I heard right? Avalon? Here?

I needed to know, my heart was tugging me to consciousness, but my body was resisting. I tried to say something, but my words didn't form...

"...hot..." I think I managed to gasp through the sickly strainer I was breathing through. I needed air, I wanted to gulp it in but something wasn't allowing me to do so...I was sooo hot!!

That was the last thought I had as I slipped into darkness again.

I saw Jace begin to move his head as he tried to say something. I leaned down and spoke to him again. "Jace, I've got you. I'll see you soon. Sleep now."

As I spoke to him his body began to rest. As he did I checked his eyes and pulse for more signs of his symptoms. I reached into my case and drew out a stethoscope and checked his heart. His eyes were clear and his pulse was strong. After listening to his lungs I could hear the rattle within them which told me he was gaining fluid in his lungs thus inducing an infection. I listened to his breathing and found it shallow.

After my examination I reached over and turned up the pressure on his oxygen mask to help support his breathing.

I pulled a nearby chair next to Jace's bed and sat on it and looked at Celeste. "No there is nothing else you can do. Nothing either of us can do. As far as his body goes he is going to be alright except his lungs. That is what has me concerned. Right now his lungs are filling with fluid and his breathing is shallow. The injection is going to have to be done every three hours. The drug I introduced will make his lungs clear and he'll breathe better in the next twelve hours if it works well. The bad part is that he may slip further and can still die. The next eight hours will tell the story. If he can make it past the next eight hours the drug will kick in and clear his lungs up. That is if we've not been to late. If he recovers he is going to feel like moving sooner than he should. So he MUST remain in bed for at least the next three days to help his body recover. No matter how good he may feel during that time."

I sat back into the chair and got comfortable. "I am going to stay here with him for the next twelve hours and keep an eye on him. Let's hope for the best. The rest is now up to his body."

I held up the book and tried to calm her. "Have you ever read one of these old books? It is really quite calming. They do save quite a bit of the eye strain that we suffer from reading those com-units we read these days. Personally, I don't know why they ever invented those blasted things." I took the book and lifted it toward her as I shook it. "Now here is something you can really sink your eyeballs and brian into." I lowered the book and opened it as I went through the pages. "So tell me then, how are you in a fight? Can you handle yourself and defend those who are with you? Most of all, do you have any problems following orders? If you have a problem or can't do any of this then I can not use you."

I leaned back into my seat and held my hand up to stop her from speaking. "Think about this hard before you answer. The time to have doubts about any of this is now. To have second thoughts later makes you useless and a danger to others and I will not allow anyone to endanger my crew; nobody. It is a luxuary none of us can afford."

I had just come from the Fighter Bay looking over the Seth. It is a fine ship. One I can only hope that they will let me pilot one of these days. I don't think they will ever give me that ship though. Even though I have proven that I am the best pilot on the Eclipse.

Everyone thinks I am to small to do anything around here and I am really getting weary of everyone making fun of how I look. Some day I WILL prove to them just how valuable I can be around here.

After leaving the fighter bay I had overheard heard some of the other pilots say that Jace was here and was very ill in the medical bay. He was such a nice guy and always seemed to have a lot of respect for me. Such a great quality in a human he has.

As I walked past the medical bay I stopped to see him and then hesitated. Do I want to see him? I just know everyone is going to make fun of me and I don't wish to listen to it. I sighed as I looked at the door. Oh well, he'd do it for me. I know he would As I walked closer toward the door the door hissed as it opened. Now commited I continued into the medical bay. I smiled weakly and relaxed. I hated doing that, relaxing wasn't usually in my vocabulary. I was always on the move, I didn't have time to be sick.

"So, what is this that I have?" I really didn't think I wanted to know.

"Well you've worked yourself into a huge form of bronchial pneumonia. If you don't take care of yourself from now on this is going to be a recurring condition for you. Once you have this it will come back to haunt you if your not careful."

As I spoke to him I knew he still wouldn't listen to me, much less believe me. I knew this was pretty much the very reason why we quit seeing each other before. He always had a mind of his own. Even then he never used it for his own good.

I saw how Aramis was taking to this woman. She seemed to be a nice break for him. It was nice knowing that there was finally someone taking his attention off the matters of his mother.

Even though I appreciated what she was unknowingly doing for Aramis I remained firm and to the point. “I am Captain Ewan or you may address me as Captain. You will address us by rank and also any other ranked officer on board the Eclipse in the same manner. The Eclipse is our ship. You will find it located on level 122 in docking bay 734C.”

I reached into my vestment and pulled out my data pad and entered a credit chit into it. After I entered it I keyed in several figures in it. After I finished the entry the chit card raised from the data pad. I pulled the chit card from the data pad with my right hand and placed the data pad back into my vestment with my left hand. While my hand was in my vestment I reached into a pocket and drew out a silver metal wrist band which was open for use. I put the wrist band and chit card together and handed it to Solani.

“Before you enter the Eclipse you are required to place the wrist band upon one of your wrists. Which one you wish to use is up to you. The wrist band is for security purposes and is required by everyone on board the Eclipse. I also strongly advise you to not tamper with that device.”

I pointed at the chit card I handed her. “Every member on board our ship receives one share of payment for every mission we go on. Most new crew members only receive one half share until they have earned it. Our upcoming mission is being paid by myself from my own credits and everyone is going to receive double shares of their usual rate. Right now I am giving you one half share in advance to help you get started and buy some things I’m sure your going to want to buy before coming on board.”

“To begin with I want you on board the Eclipse no later than 1400 hours two days from now. Once you are on board, I want you to report to Lieutenant Rakai. At that time he will show you to your quarters and brief you on your ship duties and assignments. You will receive a briefing on our upcoming mission at a later time when the rest of the crew will be briefed.”

“Is this understood? Do you have any questions,” I asked as I sat back in my seat and crossed my arms.

As bad as I felt I shook my head. "You're always trying to get me to slow down, never worked. I have too many things that need doing, Avalon."

I sighed deeply and started coughing again. Whew, it hurt. When I could finally get my breath and lay back, I looked at her. "You know my job and my duties..."

What she didn't know was I had a deathmark on me now. That was why I had to keep a low profile, that was why I had to keep moving. If I was caught, that was it and I didn't want to think about that. Did I love her? Hell, yeah...I never stopped even after we broke things off a year ago. I didn't want her hurt, I didn't want her to be in the same boat that Quay'Na was in right now. It could happen.

So, I left it at that...to never love or be loved again, I couldn't take that chance.

As he spoke about how important his job was, I now became more and more frustrated. So much so that the anger began to boil within me knowing this fool threw away a good life that we could have had. My life!

"Yes I do Jace, and you know I have mine too. So I had better get to it." I reached over and took up the hypo-spray and quickly gave him an injection. It hissed as I held it to his arm. Once it quit I threw the hypo onto the table and took his oxygen mask and pulled it over his mouth and let go of it and it snapped harshly onto his face. "There, suck some air!" I turned away and sat down in the chair abruptly next to his bed and harshly opened my book with frustration and began reading. At least I pretented to.

I watched as Avalon became frustrated with Jace's conversation and watched as she let him have it. As she sat down in the chair I began to laugh as I covered my mouth to hold it back.

I grunted as the hypo was put in, I grunted again as she put put the mask back on me. I felt my face burn as I heard that familiar laugh, it was Nawn.

I tried to ignore Avalon and just gave her a frown, then moved my sight to my friend. "Nawn, " I said as I took off the mask. "What brings you by to see this charmng care I'm getting from my doctor?" My eyes traveled to Avalon again and I smirked.

I sharply looked at Nawn, "visiting hours are over. The patient needs his rest. I'm going to have to ask you to leave."

At Avalon's demand I quickly threw up my arms. "Ut uh. No way Jace. I'm not getting in the middle of this. Your on your own my friend." I quickly turned and exited the room and headed toward the Medical Bay doors. As I got to them they hissed as they opened. I looked out the doors to make sure I didn't walk into someone and walked on through the doors. Before the doors could close I yelled back to Jace. "Good luck my friend. Your going to need it. I'll see you later." As I finished speaking the doors hissed again and closed behind me.

My mouth dropped open as my best friend took off. I threw my arms up in the air and started coughing again. When I regained my composure, I looked at Avalon. "You really didn't have to do that." I grumbled slightly.

"Oh no? Well the more you talk the more irritation your doing to your lungs. So quit talking like some school girl and be quiet."

I hated treating him this way but he deserved it. Besides I wasn't lying to him. He DID need his rest and quiet. At least he was now showing signs of getting better. I'm glad about that.

Jace Keller
Aug 21st, 2006, 06:22:23 PM
That was one of the reason we had been together, it was like we'd known each other for an eternity. She knew everything about me, my likes, my dislikes...we were like an old married couple...and perhaps that's what scared me so much. I liked things fresh and new, in my line of work, I never knew where I would be next.

That had been the problem. She knew where she was and what she was doing, but not me. I never had a clue and that was why I was good at what I did. I didn't have to keep a commitment to anything but my work.

"Look," I finally said. "must we always argue when we're together?" I was tired and weary. "I'll do what you want, I just don't want to fight and argue. Okay? Can we call a truce?" I looked at her hopefully as I began coughing again.

Avalon Aquilo
Aug 21st, 2006, 06:38:22 PM
"A truce? Us fighting," I replied as I tried to keep from looking at him. The more I tried the weaker I became. I couldn't resist him. I looked up at him and saw the medication from the hypo still knotted up in his arm. I stood up from the chair and began to massage his arm.

"I don't know what your talking about. I was only doing my job," I replied as I touched him more and more.

Finally I couldn't stand it anymore and felt weak at his touch. I quit massaging his arm and pulled the chair closer to the bed. As I sat down in the chair I couldn't look at him. "I'm sorry Jace. I don't want to argue either, but what was lost between us hurts me every time I think about it. What can I say? I still love you Jace and I don't know what to do about it. Why do you think I came to help you even now after all this time apart?"

Jace Keller
Aug 21st, 2006, 06:48:14 PM
I felt the sting of hurt as she spoke. Once my coughing subsided again, I looked at her. "Avalon, I never should have left the way I did and I'm sorry. You don't need some backwater Iskonian male to hold you back from your dreams and that's what I was doing. You are a doctor and I am a pirate...with a deathmark." I closed my eyes, I didn't want to think about it as she massaged my arm. I felt sick as the meds she gave me began to sink in. I grew tired and lay back against the pillows.

She always knew everything about me, I could keep nothing from her...

I sighed as I thought about what he was saying. "Do you hoestly believe that any of that matters to me?" I shook my head as I continued. "It doesn't now and it never did in the past. I would gladly go away with you even now if I truly thought I was needed by you. I guess you don't though and that is what hurts me even more."

Jace Keller
Aug 21st, 2006, 07:04:25 PM
My body began to feel like a lead weight, and I was periless to stop it. "I never stopped loving you, Avalon. I never stopped..." My voice seemed far away and I wasn't even sure I said it out loud, but I was too tired and everything faded from my sight.

Avalon Aquilo
Aug 21st, 2006, 07:14:28 PM
As he spoke to me I heard Jace's voice drop off and I looked at him and saw him drifting off. I looked at his arm and saw that the meds had finally dispersed into his bloodstream and this is what caused him to drift off. I stood up and put his oxygen mask back on him and leaned over and kissed him on the forehead. "You anyways seem to leave me at the wong time." A tear ran from my eyes as I collected my things. Once everything was packed I went back to his side. "Goodbye my love," I said as I ran my finger tips down his cheek.

I turned away from Jace's bed and went into the office where Celeste had vanished to. I saw her sitting there at the desk going over her data pad as she looked over the information. I wiped a tear from my face and spoke to her. "Celeste, I am leaving now."

Celeste Jade
Aug 21st, 2006, 07:49:47 PM
I looked up from mydatapad. "You're leaving already?" I asked with a hint of concern. "I thought, you'd at least stay through the night." It hadn't been that long since Jace had been brought in.

"It's only been a couple of hours."

Avalon Aquilo
Aug 21st, 2006, 08:02:49 PM
"No it's been over three hours now. In fact I have given him his second dose or injection already. His temperature is receding and he is breathing better now. In fact I have even been speaking with him. He is well on his way to recovery. All you'll have to do now is just keep him quiet and keep him up on his injections for the next two days."

As I felt the urge to cry I turned away from the doctor as I walked across the room as if to look at a nearby painting upon the wall. "Is there anything else that you require?"

Celeste Jade
Aug 21st, 2006, 08:07:11 PM
I had been the onboard doctor for the past fifteen months. "No, I can handle things fine. If I may not be to bold to ask...how long have you known Jace?" I asked out of curiousity.

Avalon Aquilo
Aug 21st, 2006, 08:17:08 PM
As I looked at the picture I heard Celeste ask me the one question I didn't want to talk about right now. I was hurting enough now as it was already. As discretely as I could I wiped the tears from my eyes and then I turned to look at her. "Yes, you may ask," I replied.

I stepped forward and reached into my case and drew out another cartridge for the Hypo-Spray gun and handed it to her. "You'll need one more of these for his injections. Once that cartridge is emptied he should be well enough to release but I wouldn't release him for at least four hours after you inject it. And do me a favor will you? Keep him away from the whiskey. It will only bring his symptoms back on again."

Celeste Jade
Aug 21st, 2006, 08:24:04 PM
"He won't like that in the least, I've been around him long enough to know he's a drinker...though he never gets truly drunk. We Inleshat's don't seem to be affected by it much either. An interesting fellow that Jace Keller is." I went on to say. "Interesting indeed, usually keeps to himself when he's here. He's very private and there is nothing wrong with that...unless, you're his doctor." I laughed lightly, trying to keep things open between us.

Avalon Aquilo
Aug 21st, 2006, 08:28:15 PM

Avalon Aquilo
Aug 22nd, 2006, 02:14:24 PM
I also nodded my head to her. "Perhaps one day we will, perhaps we will. Until then, goodbye." I turned from Celeste and I wanted to run out of there before I broke down, but I didn't. I calmly walked away and walked right by Jace.

As I exited the Medical Bay I fell apart and cried like I did the first time Jace left me. As I leaned against the corridor walls just outside the Medical Bay I began to think.

Why do I let him hurt me like this? He's got to know how much I still love him and even now he won't take me for what I am. Am I so wrong about loving him?

As I cried I felt someone or something pulling at my arm. I looked down and it was Nawn.

I quickly tried to straighten myself and tried to look professional but I was doing a poor job of it. "Nawn, what are you doing here?"

Nawn Erdon
Aug 22nd, 2006, 02:39:04 PM
I walked down the corridor back to the Medical Bay and saw Avalon standing in the hall and she was crying. I reached over and pulled on her arm and replied to her when she spoke to me. "Yes it is me. You look so sad. I'm sorry Jace has hurt you. If it helps to know, he does love you. He has spoke to me about you many times." I reached into my shirt and pulled out a handkerchief and handed it to her. "Here, you need this more than I."

Avalon Aquilo
Aug 22nd, 2006, 03:12:03 PM
"Thank you." I took the handkerchief from the creature and and wiped the tears from my eyes and cheeks. "Thank you very much Nawn."

I looked at Nawn and said what was on my mind. "Nawn, there is something I don't understand. I've never encountered a species such as yours. What species are you," I asked as I tried to get my mind off Jace.

Nawn Erdon

I was thrilled to see she was showing an interest in me. Something most people hardly ever did. "Well, I am from the planet Sullust. The majority of us that have found our way offworld work as starship crewmembers like the Eclipse. We have a reputation for excellence and intuition for piloting, which has mostly been earned through simple hard work. As a race we possess perfect direction sense and memory. This allows us to remember any paths that we have travelled, or maps we have seen. Making us excellent navigators and perfect stratigists, if I may say so myself."

Avalon Aquilo
Aug 22nd, 2006, 04:32:29 PM
As I listened to Nawn I looked at his eyes and ears and wondered. "This is very interesting Nawn and I was just thinking about something. Over the past year or two I have been doing some personal research on species I'm not familiar with. Getting to know their anatomy will make it easier for me to treat those of those species when they have medical problems and illnesses. Would you be willing to help me compile this information by letting me give you a complete examination?"

Nawn Erdon
Aug 22nd, 2006, 04:41:48 PM

Avalon Aquilo
Aug 22nd, 2006, 04:51:31 PM
Suddenly everything I thought about Jace went away. I smiled at Nawn with great enthusiasm. "That sounds great! Yes, yes we can do it right now in my office in the city. Shall we go now?"

Nawn Erdon
Aug 22nd, 2006, 05:19:31 PM
"Absolutely," I replied. I held my hand out to her and she grabbed my hand and took off walking. Even though she only walked quickly I had to run to keep up with her.

"Very good then," I replied as I took up my glass of Mortorian Wine. I lifted my glass to her and smiled. "May we have a great long relationship." I brought my glass to my mouth and took a long drink from it.

After I finished off the glass I looked at Aramis. "Well Lieutenant, we have a pressing matter to attend to and should get to it.”

I stood up to leave as I looked back at Solani. “I’ll see you in two days.” I turned to walk away. “Lieutenant,” I said to Aramis to call him to come with me.

I continued to walk and exited the pub and headed toward the Eclipse as I walked to the turbo lift down the hall from the pub. Once I got to the lift I stood outside and waited for the lift to open for use. "Well......what do you think of her I asked Aramis?"

Aramis Rakai
Aug 23rd, 2006, 03:36:13 PM
I didn't hesitate. "I think, she's going to be a very good asset to our crew."

Argos Ewan
Aug 23rd, 2006, 05:21:22 PM

There within the lift I saw Nawn and Avalon. "Avalon; Nawn what are you two doing?"

Nawn Erdon
Aug 23rd, 2006, 05:25:23 PM
As the turbo lift doors opened I saw the Captain and Aramis standing there. As the Captain spoke to me Avalon grabbed my hand and pulled me along behind her. As we quickly went by the two I turned and shrubbed my free shoulder. "I guess we have to go Captain, sorry. I'll talk with you after bit. Byeeeee," I yelled as we headed down the corridor.

Aramis Rakai

"Alright I replied. Before Solani reports in I'd like for you to make sure she has the quarters she will need. You'll also have to set up time with her when she arrives to show her the assignments she'll be assigned to. We're going to have to get ready for or attack on the Lynx so she needs to upgrade or repair our guns for the Eclipse and our fighters. Either do it yourself or have someone else do it for you I don't care. Just make sure she gets settled in."

Aramis Rakai
Aug 23rd, 2006, 06:04:33 PM
I nodded. "Yes, Captain. It will be taken care of."

It felt good to be back on the ship. I loved this ship, I loved working on her and making upgrades as much as I possibly could.

As long as I was working, I didn't have to think about what was happening to my mom. The visions I saw were terrible, it made me not want to sleep. I hadn't sleep well in weeks, but I had to keep going and I would.

I turned to head towards the hanger bay. It was my haven, my home.

I watched as Aramis walked away. I was so glad to see how he was reacting to being back on board. He really seemed to have his enthusiasm back. Something I've not seen in him since his mother had been gone.

As he disappeared into the ship I turned and walked to the Medical Bay to see Jace. As I entered the Medical Bay I saw Jace was still sleeping and I looked for Celeste. "Celeste, are you here," I said softly as to not disturb Jace.

Celeste Jade
Aug 23rd, 2006, 06:38:08 PM
"Avalon believes he'll be fine, he just needs rest. He's had injections and still will have a couple yet to go. But, I do think it's helping." I looked down. "I'm sorry, I couldn't do any better, Captain."

Argos Ewan
Aug 23rd, 2006, 06:44:28 PM
I watched as Celeste looked as if she was feeling she should have done better. "Celeste, don't do that. You have no reason to feel this way. I saw him before he came to the Eclipse and he was in terrible shape. Actually he was lucky to have even made it back as far as I'm concerned. He had given me some of the information we needed but in his head is more. I'm sure of it and we need that information."

Celeste Jade
Aug 23rd, 2006, 07:01:32 PM
"His fever has gone down with the meds, but I'm afraid he still feels pretty terrible. He's coughing like crazy still, but his breathing is getting better. I think, he'll be a lot better in the next few days, if we can keep him off the booze and that isn't going to be easy."

Argos Ewan
Aug 23rd, 2006, 07:09:28 PM
I looked at Celeste as I rubbed my chin. "I don't know but I'm not so sure we have a few days. The rescue of Quay'Na depends on his information and I'm sure for her time is running out. The longer we wait the less chance any of Jace's information is going to be any good. The Lynx isn't going to be docked forever where she is. We took enough of that time just getting here and Jace getting what informaion he got. We're sitting on a time bomb."

Celeste Jade
Aug 23rd, 2006, 07:15:39 PM
I nodded. "I'll do what I can to get him into working condition again, Captain." I looked in where he was sleeping, he wasn't anymore and from the look in his eye, he had heard quite a lot of what we said.

Jace Keller
Aug 23rd, 2006, 07:18:28 PM
"I'll be in working condition in the morning, Captain." He stated with a deep cough. He winced slightly as he lay there looking at the two of them. "And I hate it when you talk about me, as if I'm not here..." He coughed again. "I"m here..." A moment later, he threw up.

Aug 23rd, 2006, 07:27:02 PM
I watched as Celeste began cleaning up his mess. As she did I went to Jace's side. "Jace, I wasn't speaking behind your back. I was only trying to not disturb you. But since your awake is there anything you can give me on the Lynx. Where she is at isn't enough. I need any coordinates of the Lynx; the exact coordinates. What I have in mind is a Death Raid upon the Lynx."

Jace Keller
Aug 23rd, 2006, 07:53:42 PM
"There are three orbital shipyards. The Scholdain, the Eridun, and the Afermay. The Lynx is at the Eridun..." He began coughing again, once he could catch his breath, he continued. "It won't be an easy target...and if I'm caught, don't come back for me."

Jace took ahold of his brother's hand. "Promise me you won't come back. I need to hear that from you."

Jace Keller
Aug 23rd, 2006, 08:02:22 PM
Jace looked at his brother. "You're not serious." He spoke as strongly as he could and it still didn't come out much more than a whisper.

"You need me, brother. I got Quay'Na into his holy mess and I'm going to..." He held up his hand as he went into a fit of coughing. It was so bad his eye watered.

Celeste handed him a cup of water and it seemed to calm him. Jace panted. "I'm going to help...I have to."

Celeste Jade
Aug 23rd, 2006, 08:04:33 PM
"Jace, you're too weak." I insisted as he handed me back the cup.

"You can't even stand right now. Let the Captain do his job, you've done yours and now you need rest."

Jace Keller
Aug 23rd, 2006, 08:07:52 PM
He stared at her. "You want me to stay here and lay around while they are out there busting their bums to get Quay back after my information got her in there!?! I can't do that!!" His voice was hoarse as he threw back the blankets. "And I'm not too weak!"

Before anyone could say anything, Jace was up on his feet, but only for a few seconds as a bout of dizziness hit him and he pitched forward.

Argos Ewan
Aug 23rd, 2006, 08:11:20 PM
I caught Jace as he fell and helped him back into his bed. "Stop it Jace! You know she is right. You'd be no good in a fight and I need my crew to fight. I can't afford spending time watching after you or anyone else. None of us can. It would only endanger others."

Jace Keller
Aug 23rd, 2006, 08:23:11 PM
I couldn't believe how wiped out I felt. Just standing was an endeavor. I groaned as I was helped back into bed.

I looked at my brother. "I'm sorry I failed you, brother. It should have been me on that ship." I turned away as I felt tears in my eyes. My heart felt heavy and all I wanted was Quay to be back and be alright. That was all I wanted.

Argos Ewan
Aug 23rd, 2006, 09:03:24 PM
I saw Jace begin to cry. I had never seen him do that before and it hit me like a stone. I grabbed him up into my arms and tried to comfort him. "Jace, please stop this. Nobody is to blame for something that nobody could have known about. If we were to blame anyone then we would have plenty of blame to go around, myself included."

I released Jace and began to allow my emotions to interfere where they shouldn't. As I straightened myself I pointed at Jace. "Alright Jace, you want a piece of this, then you've got it!"

I turned away from Jace and spoke aloud to myself. "Gods I'm going to hate myself for saying this!"

I quickly turned and pointed at Jace and gave him a look of anger. "If your going to go your going to promise that your NOT going to leave the ship! Your going to fly this ship by my side and your not going to fight and no booze do you understand me!? Your lucky I am allowing my emotions to give you what you want, at least that much of it. If you promise me this then you can go and you had better NEVER tell anyone I let you sway me like this!" I turned and shook my fists at the cieling. "Gods I must be insane for doing this!"

Jace Keller
Aug 24th, 2006, 05:17:18 AM
I'd never allowed my emotions to show, but I felt so guilty about my friends dying and Quay being caught. I strived harder and longer than I ever had to get that information for my brother, my captain.

I sighed deeply. At least I could be a part of it. I wouldn't have to run or fight, but I would be there. "I can do it, brother. I need to do this." My voice didn't sound like my own, but the look on my face was strong and hard.

Argos Ewan

"Jace, I'm going to take your reply as your promise." I put my hand on Jace's shoulder. "You've never lied to me brother and have always done everything you could for me. Now get some rest and get yourself ready. Your going to need it. This is going to be one huge mission for us. One like we've never done before. We have a few days before we leave so prepare yourself."

"You have my word, Argos. I will do anything in my power to get her back." Jace vowed as he coughed again. He laid back on the pillows as Celeste got him some water.

Surprised at my brother's words I looked at him as I scowed at him as I shook a finger at him. "Ohhh no you don't Jace. Your going to do exactly what we agreed to......nothing more."

Jace smiled as he slowly closed his eyes. "I don't really think I could fight you on that. I will do as you wish, brother."

"Uh huh, you better. Don't make me throw my own brother in the brig." Suddendly the view of my own brother came into my mind of him sitting in the brig and I smiled as I shook my head. "Nah...I couldn't imagine that."

I turned away from my brother to exit the Medical Bay. "Get some sleep Jace. I'll see you soon."

After leaving the Medical Bay I saw that Nawn had returned to the ship. I went to my quarters office and pulled up my head set and announced, "Doctor Jade, Nawn Erdon, Lieutenant Rakai to my briefing station please. Doctor Jade, Nawn Erdon, Lieutenant Rakai report to my briefing station."

I put the head set away and went to the briefing station and awaited everyone to arrive as ordered.

My hands were full of grease as I heard the announcement. A cloth rag was handed to me as I crawled out from beneath a fighter. "Thanks, Celeste." I said with a smile as I wiped my hands off.

Celeste was a sweetheart, but she wanted more than I was willing to give and right now my heart was not for sale. I had more pressing issues.

"Tell the Captain I'll be up in a few minutes." I said as I started to take off the coveralls I was wearing. I recieved a 'sure thing' from her as she smiled and left.

I merely shook my head.

I sighed deeply as I walked up the steps to the main corridor. My heart was breaking, couldn't he see that? I'd been in love with him ever since I met him. But, deep down I knew the truth, he didn't love me the same way, I was more of his little sister.

I slowly made my way to the briefing station and entered. I tried not to look as sad as I felt. But, I'm sure it showed on my face, if not in my eyes. "The Lieutenant will be here shortly, he wanted to get cleaned up a bit." I took a seat and looked at the floor to keep from looking at the Captain.

I walked up to Nawn and opened the case and showed him the pips I had for him. I reached into the case and removed them to place them onto his collar. "Nawn, you have proven yourself to be worthy of promotion on board the Eclipse. You advanced knowledge of the Eclipse and the hard work you have done have proven yourself worthy of such a promotion." I began placing the pips onto his collar as I spoke. "I now promote you to the rank of Flight Commander along with the advances and benefits of that rank. Also it has come to my attention that you are quite taken with the Seth. The Seth is now your own personal ship. Take good care of her and she will always bring you home."

I finished placing the pips onto Nawn's collar and stepped back from him and saluted him. "Fly straight and true and command well my friend."

"Please, have a seat and I will brief all of you." I walked to the end of the table and placed my hands on the back of my chair. As everyone got settled in. "My first point of order was to promote our new Commander. It was something much deserved by Nawn."

I looked around the table to make sure I had everyone's attention. "Now to my second point. That is the retreval of Quay'Na. I called all of you here to help me make a decision as to how we're going to get her back."

I looked toward Nawn, "Nawn, it is important that we get what information we need to spot the Lynx and where it is docked in the shipyards at Abhean. I need information before attacking. I thought of launching a Mark Three Probe to get this information but I'm afraid it would only tip off our mission. Do you have any information to present that would help me with this matter? I also require a measurable method of attack but a way to get the Eclipse close enough to do a breach to let us on board the Lynx to get our Lieutenant back. We need something that will give us enough time to find her and bring her back with a minimal amount of risk to the crew and ship of the Eclipse."

What do you require from me to help you make this possible if your not ready right now?"

Celeste Jade

Aug 25th, 2006, 08:45:32 PM
As the Captain turned back to me I gave my information my full attention. “Captain, I believe I have come up with something that will work. First of all, to make what I have in mind work I will need the use of every X-wing fighter we have and six Photon-torpedoes. In our munitions stores we have ten of them. May I use six of them?”

Argos Ewan
Aug 25th, 2006, 08:48:11 PM

Nawn Erdon
Aug 25th, 2006, 08:51:55 PM
I continued as he asked. “Very well then. Here is what I have in mind. First off you are right. Using a probe would be a great mistake for the exact reasons you feared of using it. If we use the Eclipse instead and station it far enough our we can blindly launch our X-wing fighters in three groups placing two torpedoes on one fighter in each group. If I am right we can use them to disable every ship docked at the Shipyards including the Shipyards themselves. Once this is complete I can transmit the Eclipse the information you require to launch the Eclipse into a Death Raid. Due to my navigational skills I can pinpoint the exact location where the Eclipse would be needed to position itself exactly where it would be needed to come out of Hyperspace for the Death Raid on the Lynx.”

I continued as I gave out the rest of my information. “Once the Eclipse begins your approach to attach to the Lynx I can form a protective squadron to protect the Eclipse during your raid.”

I looked at the Commander with shock. "That is astounding Commander! I love it! Please continue to formulate that and have it ready for presentation to the crew in our briefing with them."

I quickly turned to Aramis as I looked toward him. "Now for you. I must tell you that I am going to be using Jace as a co-pilot during this mission. However, you are going to be with us at our navigation station in the cockpit. When we go into the Death Raid status I need you to use that computer brain of yours to put us exactly where we're going to need to be when we come out of Hyperspace. Also before we leave, please have our crew check out our soft docking ring to make sure it is up to this mission. We can't afford any mistakes with this. Also when we present our mission to the crew I would like for you to inform them of our Death Raid upon the Lynx and explain how we're going to use it this time and why. Can you do that?"

After the Captain had dismissed us I quickly went to the flight deck and walked around and saw a couple of the men sitting around drinking coffee. As I approached one of them saw my new pips and slapped the shoulder of the other man and they both stood at attention. "Why are the two of you sitting here drinking coffee when we have work to do. Throw those cups away and clean up this mess around here. After you complete that I want you to draw out six Photon torpedeos and mount two on the Seth, two on the Afner and the rest on the Hermes." I looked at both of them as they looked at each other. "Is there something in my speech you didn't understand or do I have to repeat myself?"

"No Sir," one of them replied. They both ran off to do as they were told.

I watched them as they went about doing as I ordered. As they did I took my sleeve and shined my new pips. I like this. No more back talk or making fun of me. This is going to be a great experience.

I could hardly breath as I was untied from the whipping posts. I felt blood run down my back from the newly opened wounds. It was a sin to cry, so I held it in. I'd refused to say anything of my crew and with the silence came pain.

I wanted to die as I fell to the floor in a heap, I could no longer stand on my own. My clothes were nothing but rags from being torn from me time and time again. We'd been fed very little and I was told by my cell mate, Cale d'Vonik that I had a bad infection from the cuts on my back. Unfortunately, the medics in the detention block were next to none and I was told you didn't want the medics to help you, for some they just never returned.

I coughed and groaned as they tossed me back into my awaiting cell. The dirty, cold floor made me shake with chills as fever burned through me. I didn't want to move, moving caused pain and I didn't want to hurt anymore.

"Somebody...just shoot me." I whispered, knowing full well no one would they wanted to see me suffer until I died, but it wasn't going to be today.

I went into the computer lab, searching for the blueprint of the Lynx. I scanned what had to be hundreds of ships, over and over.

An hour later, I found it. "Yes!" I praised as I began my course of study.

I studied every inch of that ship down to the last computer compartment in the storage room. My mind memorized every space fluently as I reread and reread.

As I walked through the ship I passed by the Computer Lab and saw Aramis hard at work on the systems. I walked in behind him and peered over his shoulder. "Ahhhhhhh, the Lynx. You found it. Good job son." I looked closer and saw what part of the ships he was looking at. "You might see if you can find the brig and it's location. I'm sure that is where she would be. While your at it see if you can find anything on their lifter codes. We may have to use them. If nothing else then their wiring schematics would be useful. If we don't have their codes then we'll have to blast our way in and trip the wires ourselves."

Aramis Rakai
Aug 26th, 2006, 06:19:07 AM
"I've already got it, Sir." I smiled as I pressed a button and went to another page. The scimatic came up. "I'll be memorizing everything on every page, Sir. The wiring in the main corridors leading to the detention hall, won't be hard to manipulate. It's these in the detention hall that will be a bit more difficult. They are computer linked one move and all the doors will be shut down by the ship itself. But, I have ways around that." I walked over to my table of goodies and lifted up a small handheld box that looked like similar to a comlink.

"This is my scrambler." I smiled. "I can plug it in and the computer has no clue where we're at, it will continually search its systems and as it does the scrambler will go to another system, the faster the computer searches the faster my scramber runs. I created it myself."

Argos Ewan
Aug 26th, 2006, 06:10:48 PM
I was shocked at the plot Aramis had figured out on his own. After I looked at the schematics he showed me and walked over and saw everything on the table I put my hand onto his shoulder. "Excellent job Aramis! I really like this. I don't think we're going to need the scrambler unless Nawn is incorrect on his assumption. Once the Shipyards are immobilized, if the Lynx isn't shut down this should prove quite necessary though. Once we get on board the Lynx you'll install it right away as a preventive measure. Good job." I looked at everything he had sitting on the table again. "As far as this stuff goes, it is nice and great to have but you better make sure you have everything in order. You've got to make sure you need it before packing it. No sence in hauling around more than what is nessesary. You've got to remain mobile and free moving; don't restrict yourself."

I reached over and pulled a nearby chair close and sat down. "Son, Sit down here, there is something I wanted to speak to you about." I waited until he sat down and I had his full attention. "Son, there is something that concerns me." I looked directly into his eys. "Once we're on board the Lynx we're going to find your mother. There isn't any doubt about that. But how are you going to react when we find out what kind of injuries have been brought on her? As far as that goes, they may even kill her once they have any hint of us being there. Do you understand that there is a possibility that could happen before we even get to her?"

I walked into the ship's Computer Lab to do my finial analysis on our fighters attack plan on the Shipyards. As I was about to enter the lab I over heard the Captain speaking to Aramis. I stopped before entering and listened to the conversation. Once the Captain asked Aramis his question I felt it necessary to inject something into the conversation so I entered. "I'm sorry Captian, Aramis, I don't mean to intrude."

I looked at Aramis. "The Captain is right in asking what he is asking and he has a right to ask. How ARE you going to react? Have you thought about that? How do you plan to conduct yourself?"

I averted my eyes away from their gaze. "If you think I can't handle the situation at hand, I can. Yes, she is my mom and I was there the day we left her behind, at that point it was like she died. So, I can handle whatever is in store for us. Whether it means bringing her back alive, or watching her die on that ship." I gave them a hard look. I didn't like being portrayed as weak. "I will do my job to the best of my ability, if that is what you want to know."

Argos Ewan
Aug 26th, 2006, 08:24:19 PM
As I looked at Aramis I shook my head. "You misunderstand son. It's not your ability I am questioning. It's your reaction to what we may find. If you freeze up or fall apart when you find any of this out, that will be the wrong time for that. You have got to remember that is not the time to morn or fear for your mother. There will be plenty of time for that later, after the mission. Do you understand the difference in what I am saying?"

Aramis Rakai

I sighed as I answered him. "Son, you've got to get yourself into a mindset and maintain it all during this mission, any mission or raid. With you not being in this mindset was the very reason why you got shot the last time. You hesitated and questioned your movements. That is why Jace had to pull you in. If it weren't for him who knows what would have happened to you."

I hesitated for a second and spoke again, "son, it is like this and I'm sure I can speak freely about this for anyone on board. If anything should ever happen to me, do not risk yourself for me at your expence. It is a burden nobody can bear or should have to, does that explain things a little better?"

Aramis Rakai

"Well with that said, I now have one more matter to attend to."

I stood up and walked across the room and punched in the control to the ship's message system. "Attention all crew. This is not a drill. Guards please stand to the ships hatch. Everyone else on board secure all hatches. We have a stowaway on board. Search all compartments systematically and find this intruder. Again, this is not a drill. Everyone to stations keeping. Bring this intruder to me. That is all."

My attention drew to Nawn and my foster father. "What I am?" Now, I was completely confused.

As the Captain spoke to me I could feel a fear in his voice. "I'm sorry Captain. I meant no disrespect to the boy or you. I've known that Quay'Na was a Jedi for quite some time now. I've even seen her use the Force many times. Always when she wasn't aware I was watching. In knowing this I just deduced that the boy could very well be of Jedi in nature too through his bloodline. I have never spoke of this to anyone before though and I won't."

"It's just that I just now saw him do what any Jedi would do to help themselves to remember things. The deepness in breathing and then he closed his eyes momentarily. All the signs were there. If he realized what he was doing or not, it was exactly what he was doing. Let me show you."

I turned my attention to Aramis and I reached over and shut his computer monitor off. "Lieutenant please tell us, on the Lynx, what is the identification of the corridor that is located next to the main power coupling of the Lynx?”

As the Captain asked me his question I saw this a prime opportunity to show Aramis how to report to the Captain. "The level of radiation coming from the exhaust ports is minimal and non-hazardous. As far as the location of the exhaust posts they are located at the top rear of the shipyards away from docked ships and thirty degrees from the shipyard bridge." I smiled at the Captain with pride.

I reached up and scratched my head. "I don't understand Nawn." I looked over at his computer as I now rubbed my chin. "How did you know that without looking at your computer?" I leaned forward and stared directly into his eyes. "Nawn, are you a Jedi?" I stood up straight and placed my arms akimbo. "I seriously don't know how you could have remembered that unless you were a Jedi. Only a Jedi could do that, right?"

I was baffled at the Captain's question. "I uhhhhh, no of coarse not." I looked at Aramis for help. "Honest, I'm not. I'm not a Jedi."

"A Jedi pirate?" I asked a bit mused. There was no such thing and besides, with the Jedi Purge that happened so long ago...how could that be possible?

I looked at the Captain and shrugged. "I merely have a good memory."

I turned from Nawn and looked at Aramis and winked and smiled at him. "Well Nawn thinks you and your mother are Jedi Knights. IS this what you are? I mean if you and your mother are why have you hidden this from me?"

Aramis Rakai
Aug 28th, 2006, 04:30:14 PM
"I'm not a Jedi, especially not a Knight." I concluded with a smirk towards Nawn. "My mom is a Mechanical Specialist, just as I am. That is what we were meant by the Gods to be. We don't need to talk of all this Jedi nonesense...they are just a bunch of religious fanatics with wierd ways."

I dropped my arms down to my side as I looked back at Nawn. "Well GOSH Nawn, either you were mistaken or Quay'Na and Aramis have been lying to me and hidding this from me. I don't know what to think. What do you suggest I do?"

Nawn Erdon
Aug 28th, 2006, 04:40:35 PM
Now completely embarrassed I lowered my head. “Nothing sir. I was mistaken. How could I have been so stupid to even suggest such a thing? Please forgive me. It won’t happen again.”

I now looked at Aramis, “I’m sorry Lieutenant. I meant no disrespect.”

I shook my head with a smile. "None taken." I answered and began looking over the schematics again. A Jedi...where would he get that idea? The whole thing seemed rather silly to me.

The Jedi were extinct, sadly to say...but true and I would hate to see the likes of a Jedi in this day and age, for they would suffer a horrible death if the Imperials ever got ahold of them. I shuddered on that thought as I my mind went back to my mother.

I walked over to Nawn and put my hand onto his shoulder. "Nawn, let's not speak any further of this foolishness. We have a briefing we've got to prepare for and no time for this. Let's get this done so we can get to this mission. Personally I am getting weary of waiting as I am sure Quay'Na is too."

I looked over schematics of all the floors of that ship, until I knew every little cubby hole, nook and cranny. I knew what I'd need and looked over at the pack that I had in the corner. My mom's was usually right beside it, but now it sat alone.

I stepped over to it and picked it up. Bringing it over to the table, I began mentally thinking how things were going to be placed in it for easy access. I'd have to take it down to my workroom and load it, just as I always did before a raid, this time...alone.

*changing to first person*

Being Iskonian, I didn't require a lot of sleep- three hours at the most and my three hours were up a long time ago. My coughing was finally settling down and my fever was still there, but it had gone down considerably.

The announcement of an intruder had awakened me. My clothes were piled over a chair nearby and no one was around. Slowly, I pulled back the covers and eased my feet over the side of the bed. There was still an IV in my arm, so I took care of that and threw it aside.

I saw a few men run by in the corridor and stood up. I didn't feel the urge to fall over and slowly took a step over towards the chair. When I made it, I slowly began to pull on my trousers.

As Aramis and Nawn looked over the computers in the lab I decided to take a walk. I remembered what Aramis said about hiding places in the flight deck and hoped i would find this stowaway. I have a great dislike for stowaways. They always seem to turn up when I had more serious matters to tend to and schedules to keep.

As I walked through the ship other crew men were searching everywhere. Storage crates were being moved and looked into. Men were crawling through air circulation ducts and sme were inspecting quarters and their closets. Even the ships galley was being inspected, even the storage freezers and pantries.

Once this person is found they will fight or I am going to shove them off the ship. We've just got to much at stake this time.

I went into the pilots station and cheked the ship's readiness and found that all systems had been fully energized and was ready to launch. As I sat down in the Captain's chair I looked out the bridge windows and looked about as I thought aloud to myself. "Where are you? Come on, show yourself."

I was making my list of items that I needed, when I heard coughing coming from Jace's bed. Good, he's awake. I thought and got up.

"What are you doing?!? You are to be in bed!!" I said rather loudly as I entered the medical bay, where he was.

"I'm tired of laying in bed, my back hurts." I told her as I looked into her anger-flashed eyes.

"You're back won't be the only thing hurting!" She told me.

I rolled my eyes. "I'm going to be fine." I told her with a cough. "Besides, I can help look for that stowaway."

I pressed the palm of my hand into his chest as he attempted to walk by me. "Hold it, buster! You are not to leave this med bay and that is an order!"

Jace Keller

I scoffed and looked at her. "You order me?" I asked as I rolled my eyes. "Give me a break...you and who's army, Missy?" I asked a bit more tensely.

I sat in the Captain's chair and remembered to remind Celeste to get Avalon on board before we left. I got up from the chair and went to the Medical Bay.

As I approached the Medical Bay I heard Celeste yell loudly. I stopped and listened to her and Jace argue. He finally said the one thing to her that angered me like I had never been angry before. I stepped to the door and it hissed as it opened. There Jace stood with his back to me. I grabbed him by the shoulder and spin him around as I drew back my right fist. "This army!" Just as I spoke I hit him in his right jaw and he went to the floor. As he hit the floor I stepped forward and looked down at him as I pointed my finger at him. "I told you to stay in bed and get yourself into shape for this mission! Now I see you trying to leave! How dare you lie to me! You promised me you wouldn't do this Jace and you forced me to hurt you! How dare you!"

Jace Keller
Aug 29th, 2006, 07:54:08 PM
The look of surprise must've shone clearly on my face as I took the punch. I was still somewhat weak and didn't have the strength to stop it. I hit the floor.

My head spun as I moved my jaw a time or two.

"Captain!" I heard Celeste cry as she was at my side in an instant. "Jace, are you alright?" She asked me.

I nodded and didn't even look at my brother, boy I needed a drink. "I'm fine...and I didn't lie!" I scowled as she helped me to my feet, I could taste blood. "I am or was ready to go to war with you, brother! I just needed to go to the 'fresher!" I looked at Celeste. "You know how I joke around...man, why is everyone so damn tense!?! I care about Quay too, if this is what this is all about!"

Argos Ewan
Aug 29th, 2006, 08:01:52 PM
"Oh I see," I replied as I smiled. "So she orders you to get back in bed and you argue with her about it? Now you tell me that you had to go to the fresher. Well I guess the next time I am in bed before I go to the fresher I should put my pants on first too, is that it?" I looked at him disappointedly. "Jace, you know lies don't work with lies. Besides I was standing right outside the door and heard every bit of it."

Jace Keller
Aug 29th, 2006, 08:15:49 PM
"What does it matter, I'm better! My temperature is nearly normal and my cough is better and I did rest, just as I told you!" I finally said, even though I did still feel somewhat like poodoo. My head still ached along with my jaw now, at least I wasn't dizzy anymore. The rest of the symtoms, I could disregard with good measure.

"The point is, Jace. You are still not entirely well." Celeste concluded as she took me back over to my bed and pointed to it. "Get in."

Reluctantly, I blew out a deep sigh and climbed on top of the covers, nearly fully dressed. "Happy now?" I asked with a smirk and rubbed at my jaw.

I looked at them as she picked up the needle for the IV. "I need to put this back in." She told me.

I hated needles and nodded. "Go ahead." I said as she bent my arm and looked for the vein. I sat there watching as she took the needle near my arm, it was a huge needle. I pulled away for a moment, my breath catching in my throat.

"Is that really necessary?" I asked nervously.

Argos Ewan
Aug 29th, 2006, 09:06:48 PM
I walked along side of Jace's bed and watched as Celeste put the needle back in. "It wouldn't have been needed if you hadn't pulled it out."

I watched as she pulled his pants back off and covered him up. "The truth is that the meds you are on are going to make you feel as if your just fine but your not. You've got to give your body the chance to heal. If you don't, this is going to come back on you and make you even worse than before. THAT is the very reason why we're both so serious about this. We want you to get better, especially me. Jace listen, if you don't let yourself heal your no good to me on this mission and I need you well and kicking."

I took up a chair next to his bed and then patted him on the shoulder. "Brother, I'm sorry I had to do that to you, but you seriously needed to be taught a lesson. When your given orders by a doctor there is a reason for it and Celeste's orders supercedes ANY order I can give within this Medical Bay. I will stand behind her orders any time."

I sat back and sighed as I continued. "As far as it goes with Quay, I know you care about her almost as much as I do. It is that very reason why you've got to allow yourself to get better. Your almost there if you'd just give yourself the chance. I need you and so does she, but like I said before, your no good to either of us if you don't get better."

Jace Keller

"Alright, I'm staying...but I still need to go to the 'fresher." I stated bluntly.

"I'll help you to the 'fresher." Celeste said and my face felt hot.

She noticed. "Well, it's not as if I've not seen a man before."

"Yes, perhaps...but..." I began.

"Do you need to go or not?" She asked as she rolled her eyes at me.

"Yes, I do." I said calmly.

"Then come on." She said as she pulled the covers off me. I hesitated and looked at my brother for a second and then avoided him as she helped me up and into the small 'fresher. At least, she let me relieve myself in peace and stood outside the door.

When I was done, I washed my hands and looked in the mirror. I looked like death warmed over. My hair was a mess from sweating and my eyes...I barely recongized myself and I think, I'd lost weight.

Celeste knocked on the door. "I'm coming." I said as I turned and opened it. "Do I really look that bad?" I asked as she helped me to the bed again.

"You looked worst yesterday." She told me without hesitation and covered me up.

"I felt worse too." I admitted calmly.

Solani looks around the little apartment she'd been living in for the last little while, a smile on her face. She picks up a small bag and a tool kit as she turns and exits the apartment. She was already two months behind on her rent and she knew she'd be getting evicted anytime now. Only reason why she hadn't is the felt sorry for her because of the story she made up for them.

As she makes her way through the city, her thoughts drift to a conversation she had awhile ago. The same conversation that got her a job and a new place to live.

Lieutenant Aramis Rakai. He seems like a nice person, though he's greiving a loss.

In next to no time, she had come to the docking bay where the ship is. She puts the wrist band on her left wrist as she walks towards the the ship. Should she knock and wait or should she see if she can just board?? Better to play it safe and knock.

She knocks solidly on the door to the ship and waits.

Reese stood guard near the hatch and saw a woman knocking outside the hatch. He saw she had on the Eclipse wrist band and knew she was expected. He allowed her to enter asked her to follow him. Together they searched for Aramis but couldn't find him. As they came past the Medical Lab he stopped to see if I was there.

As the doors hissed and opened I saw Reese as he entered. "I thought you were on watch right now, Reese?"

"I am Sir. Gimbly is there right now covering for me. I have a Solani Naleen here. I believe she was to report to the Lieutenant but I can’t find him.”

“Yes,” I replied. “I saw him leave the computer lab a little while ago. I’m sure he has went to his workshop located next to the flight bay. If you’ll please, take her there and the Lieutenant will assign her and show her to her quarters.”

“I’ll do that right away Sir.” Reese turned and left the Medical Lab and walked Solani to see the Lieutenant.

I had been packing the tools I was going to need. Some were manufactured by some outside trading company, and yet there were some that didn't have a name, that I had fashioned myself.

With a pleased sigh, I zipped up my backpack and set it were it could be easily reached. After doing so, I went back to my workbench and picked up an old pair of electrobinoculars I had found at a pawn shop at our last stop. The mechanical mechanism was shot and I knew that by blind fate, I probably could get them to work again.

I took a small hydrospanner and began taking off the outer casing. Working on things, helped me ease my mind especially when the tension was so high.

After Reese left I turned my attention back to Jace. "You are looking better." I put my hand onto his forehead and it felt much cooler than the last time I felt it. "I would think it shouldn't be more than a couple of days now. Tomorrow I'm holding a briefing with the crew." I put both my hands into fists and held them in front of myself as i shook them. "I am so ready for a fight. Um-mm, it is going to be quite a fight and I am so ready for it."

As I put my hands back at my side I looked at Celeste. "Do you think he'll be well enough to go to the briefing tomorrow?"

"Good, then that is it then and I'm glad your taking the doctor's advice Jace," I said to him.

I looked at Celeste and motioned for her to join me in the other room. Once in her office together I closed the door behind us. "I was wanting to know, have you contacted Avalon yet? We're going to be needing her here right away. Once we give the briefing to the crew, we're going to be preparing to leave the next morning."
