I just want you all to know that the moment I buy a minigun, and the moment I buy a motorcycle, these are going together like peanut butter and jelly. Come hell or high water!

No suprises, really. It certainly looks fun. Apparently, this is a serious double feature for the price of one. I assumed it would be two films of about an hour or so in length back-to-back and instead, what we're getting for our ticket is two feature length films to enjoy. Not entirely sure how that can be a financial success and how cinemas are supposed to support this economically but we'll see what happens.

There was an article in our local paper today about the fact that some of the footage for the Kurt Russell story was shot a few miles down the road from here, so both Kurt Russell and Quentin Tarantino were in the area and I missed 'em. Oh well.
They also shot some scenes for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End here at some dunes almost a stone's throw from where I live. Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley were all here, and I missed 'em as well, they all laid pretty low while in town :cry. If my mother had come across Johnny Depp, she would have kidnapped him and considered him an early Christmas present :D.

Here's the full theatrical trailer here. I'm really really looking forward to seeing this film, or pair of films. By the way, it turns out the full running time of both films combined is only two and a half hours so my previous statement regarding two back-to-back feature length films was misinformed. I'm definately looking forward to Planet Terror more than Death Proof because to be honest, I still don't quite understand what is supposed to be the appeal of Tarantino's half og Grindhouse but perhaps I'm missing the point. Who knows, I could end up pleasantly suprised.

Death Proof is a psycho stunt man (Death proof car, for the driver anyways) , who kills girls by crashing his car.

We saw the trailer for this before Ghost Rider, and it was a great trailer...you can't help but love the machine-gun-leg look. :lol

Not entirely sure how that can be a financial success and how cinemas are supposed to support this economically but we'll see what happens.Well, theaters make virtually all of their profit from concessions. And I do believe I read that there will be an intermission between the two films, so there'll be plenty of time for everyone to load up on more popcorn and candy.
Death Proof looks kind of boring. But it has Kurt Russell. And it's not like I'm going to leave after Planet Terror.

Won't be seeing it this weekend, since it's Easter...hopefully I'll see it over the next couple of weekends. Be prepared for the fact that it's 3 hours long :).

I loved it my favorite of the two was Death Proof the ending almost had me cracking a rib laughing so hard
and people are so stupid, you know those people so intent to get out of theatre so fast after a movie ends that 3 people got up and left after Planet Terror was over, I even tried to tell the guy next to me there was another film coming up but he was halfway out of the theatre before I could even tell him

Oh, brilliant! Looks like US, UK and Australia are getting Grindhouse in one piece, while the rest of the world get them sold as two movies with none of the cool fake intermission trailers inbetween. And look at that release schedule!
USA - 6 April 2007
Australia - 31 May 2007
UK - June 2007
Finland - 1 June 2007 ('Death Proof')
Norway - 1 June 2007 ('Death Proof')
Sweden - 1 June 2007 ('Death Proof')
Belgium - 6 June 2007 ('Death Proof')
France - 6 June 2007 ('Death Proof')
Netherlands - 7 June 2007 ('Death Proof')
Germany - 14 June 2007 ('Death Proof')
Netherlands - 19 July 2007 ('Planet Terror')
Germany - 26 July 2007 ('Planet Terror')
Belgium - 1 August 2007 ('Planet Terror')
Norway - 14 September 2007 ('Planet Terror')
Finland - 21 September 2007 ('Planet Terror')
Sweden - 28 September 2007 ('Planet Terror')
And people wonder why piracy is so high over here.. yeah, like I am going to wait until september... :rolleyes

Yeah, Jinn, certainly wasn't an Easter movie. >_<
But, it was very very entertaining. Death Proof was very different from Planet Terror, a lot of classic Tarantino dialogue with the car chase at the end. Kurt Russell was brilliant. Sufficiently sinister with enough ham at the end of the movie to serve for dinner.
Planet Terror was hilarious - hideously disgusting (near the beginning I almost thought I'd have to leave because of the gore) but so much of a B-movie in flavor that it made the gore just bareable.
Both movies suffered from "missing reels" which was an awesome device to shorten the movies and throw us further along into the action. And, it was hilarious.

Not going this weekend not because it's not an Eastery movie, it's just because I usually go to the movies on Sunday afternoons and I'll be spending the afternoon at my parents' place instead tomorrow. Otherwise, I'd be there for sure :).
Sounds like I'll have a lot of fun when I do go see it...based on the Friday estimates, hm, seems like I'd better go ASAP because the numbers yesterday weren't all that great :\.
And dizzy, that's just pathetic that some people walked out at the end of Planet Terror...guess these people don't read or pay attention or anything, even the trailers made it clear that it's a double feature :mischief.

We had a lot of people jumping in and out of their seats between shows - mostly for bathroom breaks.
