Okay, here's what I've got on my background and lets see if we can do anything with it.

Aramis Rakai
23
From AraMir (tropical planet) Though, becoming more and more Imperialistic. He left when he was 18, after becoming infatuated with mechanical anything, AraMir was not a very technilogical place, but he learned his infatuation from the spaceport. At 18, he left and became a pirate with some group and found his mechanical skills also gave into picking locks, doors anything he wasn't supposed to be getting into, he could. While on the side, he also became an excellent mechanic and used this as a cover for his special talent. So, he and his group became somewhat rich.

But, now with the Empire so highly motivated, it becoming almost impossible to rely on pirating, and his homeplanet is being overrun with Imperials by the time he's 23 and he can't stand it. His parents were both Force-users, but have gone underground to stay alive and he didn't seem to want to go that route and decided that in his wake he would much rather be part of a freedom fighter, than be forced to join an army or navy that he loathed. So, he's now pretty much lost contact with his family and wants to help in the rebellion anyway he can to gain freedom to not only his family, but to others like them.

How does that sound? Workable?

What area of the Alliance are you looking to get into? There's quite a few different departments

A privateer, so he can help in the raiding of Imperial ships and bases to bring back goods to the Alliance.

Okay. Do you have an idea of how you'd like to be "recruited"?

Hmmmm, now that is a very good question. Some thoughts were on after some big raid he pulled off, kinda like a Star Wars Robin Hood, now all I need is a Little John...lol.

I would need some names of some places he could have done this at or if I should just make up my own I can do that too.

I can also look for at least 3 people that would come aboard his crew to help him. I'll post it in OOC if I need too. Perhaps, he's in cloud city bar and grill attempting to find the alliance or I can post it in another place, but how would he know how to contact someone to find, just through other spacers? If that were so, then we could say that some spacer dude had set up the meeting for him in some offbeat pub on some offbeat planet somewhere. Does that sound alright?

Hmmm, also should add that he is part Inleshat, which means he's aquatic and can physically adapt to water. Looks mostly human, but once he hits water he can breathe in it. And his actual age is about 72 in Inleshat years, but he looks 23. So, I suppose he should change that. In that, his mother would most likely be dead or very old and his father still looking quite young.

Well, the way we are playing things, we have Rebel contacts dotted in lots of places around the galaxy. Even if they aren't official agents, they are there supplying information for us, keeping an eye on what's going on. Perhaps one of the ships you raid has a Rebel contact on it.. someone who has been kidnapped by the Imperials. That would be more exciting than you just meeting up with someone in a bar :)

Sounds excellent!! So, now I just have to get this raid arranged. I'll try and work on something tonight and maybe send you it to see what you think before I post it.

If you need any other faces for the raid, Elijawn would be available.

That would be great!! I can always use the help!!

Tony Maxwell

An idea has just struck me, one that goes along with Dasq's idea to find a rebel on a ship you raided. The plan for this character, Tony Maxwell, is that the Empire will seize control of his droid factories in the name of the war effort and basically take over completely. Tony would remain president, but he'd be under the entire weight of the Empire's thumb. He's will not take kindly to this.

So how about Tony speaks out against the Empire, on a soap box in town square kind of thing, and get's arrested. He's thrown on board an unmarked vessel used by Imperial operatives. Your character, Aramis, raids said vessel and finds Tony locked up and set's him free. Regretably this would not help you get into the Rebellion, but it would give you a partner to help you look who also wants to find the Rebellion.

Just a thought...

So who would be the operative on the vessel that would be apart of the Rebellion?

That vessel. :)

Also, I'd rather be involved in the raid on the ship that holds the Rebel operative if it is going to be two raids. :)

The vessel is an Imperial vessel, which has captured a Rebel contact (not an operative). I was thinking it would just be an NPC, unless any of the current members wants to volunteer themselves to be captured.

Also, as far as I can tell it's just one raid... Aramis hitting the ship that has the contact on it.

Yes, it would just be one ship and perhaps it had both the NPC and Tony on it, btw...what is an NPC???? This region is all new to me, so bear with me...lol. I will catch on, I always do...

NPC = Non Player Character. So a character that doesnt have an account name that you use in your writing.

Vega Van-Derveld

I don't mind playing the NPC.

Aramis Rakai

Ooh, dingy me....lol. That would be great for someone to play the NPC.

All sounds nice to me, when do we start?

Aramis Rakai
Aug 10th, 2006, 10:09:07 PM
Okay, here's my next thought. I've got a person now to RP as Captain to the ship we have, what kind...not entirely sure yet. But, we are going to be planning a raid and we could use a couple of more hands on deck. So, I can say that Aramis had it posted on the Universal Pirates Union (lol), well word of mouth or something like that. We can have a secret meeting somewhere and that's how we meet Elijawn and whom ever else would like to join us.

Do I have any takers?

Yah, it makes sense. Word of mouth and then a meeting at specific place.

Okay, editing my background now that I've got it all in order.

Aramis Rakai

72 years old

Strengths: Mechanical Maintenence Specialist, Computer Slicer

Race: Inleshat

Birth world: Drexel II

Aramis was born on Drexel II, and lived there for 31 years when a water disaster took place and forced these Inleshat refugees to be relocated to another water world of Iskalon. His mother, Quay'Na Rakai was a specialist in mechanical maintence a trait which was also handed down to Aramis. A year after taking refuge on this new world, Quay'Na became quite acquainted with many of the spacers in this sect. She made a deal with Iskalonian Captain Argos Ewan of the Eclipse, she would give him her services as head mechanic for room and board and as long as her son would be able to remain with her.

The Eclipse Raiders were formed years later, as this group of scoundrels raided anything and everything they could get their grips on. Their lust for riches and Imperial ambushments, kept the group alive...until one dreaded raid, was one too many...forty-one years later.

Aramis' mother was captured as the rest of the crew barely made it out alive. With once a crew of nearly sixty, it was now down to Aramis and his Captain...waiting, watching, tracking to save the one crew member that meant everything to both of them.

But, would it be too late? Only fate would know the answer to the burning question in both Inleshat and Iskalonian's minds.

Argos Ewan

Ok I am going to put this in as background to begin with.

First of all, I am Argos Ewan and I am from the planet of Iskalon. I am 247 years old.
I am the Captain of The Eclipse. It is a modified old Marauder-Class Corvette ship. I have a crew of close to 60 people on board. They are a hearty crew who loves the rewards from the raids we do on our ship.

The ship has 8 Double Turbolaser Cannons,
3 Tractor Beam Projectors, Modified shields and Plasma Phase Generator motors. Many of these things were stolen in raids upon other systems and ships. Our ship also has A wing of starfighters that are housed in its fighter bay which are used on raids.

Aramis Rakai is our Mechanical Maintenance Specialist and Computer Slicer of the Eclipse.

Aramis’s mother Quay’Na Rakai was my second in command and also my mate of 40 years. Six months ago she was taken from us by the Empire and is now being held prisoner upon the Empire ship Lynx. We have been tracking the ship and plan to get her back. Until then Aramis is standing in second of command of the ship until her return. That is if we can get her back.

As Captain of this ship I am ordering the return of Quay’Na. Climb on board if you dare and are bold enough! Make it so if you measure up!

Aramis Rakai
Aug 11th, 2006, 10:21:35 PM
Okay, here's the plan...

Going into the raid the Lynx, to find Quay'Na. End up finding her, the rebel and Tony (if you want to, let me know). That's where the story will begin.

So, we'll be looking for recruits to help in this raid.

Count Tony in.

Argos Ewan
Aug 12th, 2006, 04:25:35 AM
Cool, maybe we can get more on board the Eclipse to help out. That is if they can measure up to the tasks ahead. I do run a tight ship.

Aug 12th, 2006, 01:35:26 PM
Ah, now I see my niche. Well my character would be a momentary party member of the Eclipse. A stowaway of sorts, hoping to find his way off of Bespin since his pockets have dwindle after being stranded there.

I hope that is okay. He could definatley take part in the raid.

Argos Ewan
Aug 12th, 2006, 02:31:22 PM
As Captain, I don't allow stowaways. However anyone showing that they have a purpose even if it is just for this one encounter is welcome.

To the entire crew I pay a full share of anything that is looted in any raid. Most new crew members who are new to the crew are paid 1/2 share until they prove their worth.

However, in this encounter or raid, I am paying full shares to every member who participates as long as they do their job. The shares are being paid out of my own pocket because this is a mission to retrieve my second in command and mate who was taken captive on board the Lynx when the last raid went wrong.

Also given to those who perform well during this mission could receive a rank and accommodation from me on board the Eclipse for their outstanding service during this mission. On any other ship this would mean nothing seeing we are a Raider ship. But on the Eclipse it could mean a lot to you as a crew member of the Eclipse if you wanted to remain as a crew member.

Even though this is a raider ship, as Captain I do run it with order.

So grab a job and work onboard the Eclipse. Even if it is only temporary. You never know, you may end up liking the Eclipse so well that you'll stay on board for future raids.

The thread has been started in Cloud City, we're going to some offbeat pub for the recruitment. It's all been done word of mouth and it's open. THe pub's name will be the TradeMark and we'll be headed that way, it's down the street from the bar and grill.

Threads called Retreat from Pain
