Canon Char-usage

I have my return thread planned out at present having modified it given various interests expressed in said thread. For it I was going to use two characters who are canon in so far as they were mentioned in the Star Wars Chronology in a one paragraph filler.

In the Chronology, the history of the Grand Admirals is explained as is their demise. In this brief aside is mentioned a heated rivalry between two Grand Admirals, Grunger and Pitta, where each exterminated the other in an attempt to control the Corellian Sector. This is the only reference to the pair in any movie, book, comic, or published Star Wars work.

I was wondering, given the rather fleeting mention of them, if I might use them in my upcoming rp. If not, I can use two of my own design.

I await the decision of the Glorious Staff in all of their Wisdom.

Except that it's not even in the movies. Fans has prided itself on going strictly by the movies, regarding all else as non-canon. If Telan wants to use a few throwaway characters that don't even last half a paragraph in some expositional paragraph or whatnot, then he's got every right to.

However, if you plan on referencing them for more than one RP, you should make up your own names. Miranda did, after all, for the Grand Moff council. Maybe you could use some of those that she made up?
