Who's going to be there!?

My husband and I are going if we have to sell our house to make it. Which we won't have to, because it's very close to us. So lets make it a point to try to get together while we're down/over/across in L.A!

I think it's a safe bet to say that Rie and her husband will be there also, as they live in the area. ;)

Update:
The cost for a badge to get you into all four days of the convention is $110 through March 30th, after which time it will go up! Celebration IV will include the following, plus a lot more -
Stars from the casts of all six Star Wars films
Magic-makers from the film crews
Special sneak peaks into the future of Star Wars, including the upcoming television series
Treasures from the Lucasfilm archives – props and costumes and more
A variety of unique Star Wars entertainment brought together under one roof
More fan events, more fan creations, and more fan involvement
New Celebration IV merchandise that you won’t find anyplace else, including an exclusive action figure available no where else
Improved Fan Club benefits – for members from all over the world (including a Fan Club only day on May 24th, before the convention is open to the public!)

We might make it. A lot of stuff is depending on that though. We'll look at our money situation before and let you know.

The odds that I'll be there are very high. Of course my folks have come out that weekend in previous years, since it's a holiday and all - so I'm not 100% confrmed. Let's say in the high 80's at this point. :cool

I'm very tempted to go to this, since I ended up missing out on each of the first three Celebration events for various reasons. Vacation time won't be a problem, money should be okay. We should get a list going of who will be there/is highly interested in attending.

Jul 30th, 2006, 12:27:07 PM
Ok I made a list - the top part is for next year when we have our plans finalized and such. :)

I'm considering it, haven't made any firm decisions yet, though.

BTW, my mother aids and abets my SW fandom, she's the one I got my love of science fiction through. She's the one who even took me to the local May Company store in 1977 and helped me brave the crowds to get Darth Vader's autograph on my Story of Star Wars LP :lol. My father doesn't understand all the hoopla but lets me do my own thing, which as far as I'm concerned is just as good as aiding and abetting :).

As a matter of fact, they're already talking about going with me on the trip to LA if I decide to attend the con, although they won't go to the con itself. They'll bop around doing other things in LA while I'm schmoozing :cool.

But like I said, nothing is even close to firm or final yet.

Do you have to pay to get into Celebration? Like, do you need a ticket?

It would cost me in the region of £750 ($1400) to fly to LA, not to mention needing somewhere to stay, food to eat, and so on. Eek.

I'm pretty sure if a big enough group of us is going, we can get deals on hotel rooms. Then again, they might all be full up with all the other attendees :\

I'm gonna try and get my sisters to come with, also. Maybe my mom if she's able to get the time off.

What else is happening next may? :uhoh

I looked up a ticket from LAX to Heathrow for next May and it was $518 American. That should be even less in pounds, right?

O_o Crap, why can't they move it to June. I hate still being in high school.>_<

Maybe next one when I've got a bit more cash. :(

You may possibly count me(Han Antilles) and Samantha Koortyn in for next year. We are going to try our best to make it, since we missed all the Celebrations.

After all, we need to represent Star Wars Epics over there. :D

Would love to meet you, Lilaena.

Whoever goes, you clearly need to pimp the board as much as possible. Wear 'Fans t-shirts, hand out leaflets... all the while appearing as attractive/intelligent/zany as possible!

Wanted to drag this back up, just to see what further interest there may be, and see if there is some legitimate planning that can be made yet.

I am still very much interested personally, and would definitely be in should we advance plans beyond preliminary discussion.

We're still interested here, but we'll have to wait for our tax returns next year before we can finalize our plans. :)

All the information I know is in the link in the first post of this thread. However:

Star Wars Celebration IV will fill the L.A. Convention Center from Thursday, May 24 to Monday, May 28, 2007. Admission to the first day of the event will be for worldwide members of the Official Star Wars Fan Club, many of whom will help plan and run special programming themselves. The convention will be open to the general public from Friday through Monday, Memorial Day.

I might be able to go, now that I'm in San Diego. I'd feel entirely out-nerded, though.

I've been so busy lately I have done little to nothing on travel plans for this. However, I'm still interested in going.

Besides those who have posted recently, is the prospective attendee list still accurate?

Lilaena De'Ville
Mar 17th, 2007, 12:28:53 PM
We still are, though it does depend on our recent car troubles and how big our tax return is, which we should find out in the next few days.
