Imperial Squadrons are allnumbered - including those famed enough to have known named. For example - -on a Star Destroyer, the squadrons take numbers 1-6 (or however many the contingent is) and it is the Wing that receives its number. EX - 75th Destroyer Wing.

Fighter units attached to Army formations are numbered and also grouped into numbered wings.

Stand-alone units such as elite squadrons receive numbers for admin purposes and it is their names that are household in use.

for example - -6/104 Destroyer would be the bomber squadron of the 104th Destroyer Wing.

Or perhaps the 766th "HellSpawn" Squadron

I prefer Hellfire Squadron myself.

Phantom Squadron works too...Maybe that monikor can be used for all the PCs who disappear.
