Sun sets on the final day
Waking up from a thousand plagues
Light hurts in the orphant’s eye
Imprison faith in the newborn child

We are forgotten,
Our minds locked up in fear
We are forgotten,
but now our time is here
and slowly comes the night
inhales a dying sun
of shadows will appear
a ghastly sight of crocked bodies
crawling out to breathe the air
in the fields where light remains
far away from all common sense
severed hands from a burried child
Be aware, it’s the omen
From the twisted side

We are forgotten souls with our minds locked up in fear
So pray for salvation cause the empire is near*

Sunlight, oh sunlight. How bitter your sting, how destructive your shine. Sunlight, wretched sunlight. Casting your eyes upon me and mine.

He recanted the words in his mind as he covered the reflective lenses that in turn covered his eyes and stared towards the sun of this blistering world. Tattooine, a pathetic and worthless world if ever there was one. Desert across the planet, and far too busy with annoying and pitiful lifeforms. Running around, acting as if every little thing they had to do was actually IMPORTANT. Stupidly foolish little creatures.

Lucky, stupidly foolish little creatures. He cast his gaze down from the heavens and back towards the mortal coil. They skittered all around him even as he stood. Disgusting, and yet - still oh so lucky. He wasn't here for them, oh no. Not yet at least. He turned his black masked face to the task at hand.

Before him a swoop bike race was about to begin, he smiled darkly and watched with growing interest. One particular, of those involved in this battle, was of most importance to him. Oh yes, he looked him over carefully watching him prep for the race. He was perfect alright. Perfect.

He turned towards his dearest sibling, his beloved sister - sitting comfortably under a black laced parasol to block that horrid burning sphere and nodded. His words spoke directly to her mind as he looked at her, He will do.

She HATED this planet.

In addition to the black lace parasol, she wielded a black lace fan that was waving rapidly in the direction of her unpainted face. It felt so strange not having all her make-up on, but big brother had assured her that wearing all that would have her melting like an ice cream cone. She had corrected him tartly by insisting that she was far sweeter than some silly cream, then returned to watching the race that was about to begin.

Sweaty, smelly men riding around in circles. She really saw no point to such a sport. She'd much rather be getting her nails done or sharpening her hair pins. Never the less, she pasted on a smile and canted her head back.

He will do.

Deidera arched a brow and snapped her fan closed, leaning forward off her lounge chair. Her legs spread, coming to rest on either side of the slide where they were meant to lay. Placing her hands against the Cyrene silk panel that made up the front of her elaborate gown. She admired the mixed blue coloring before shifting her gaze down to the object of her brother's fascination. Oh yes, him.

She shielded her eyes against the sun and sighed softly.

"Yes, yes. As long as he doesn't smell too horrid. I don't want him clogging my pores." She purred, flashing a wicked grin up at her blood relation.

The bikes beside him revved gently, well, as gently as they could in comparison to his beautiful baby. Most of the competition didn't even have the decency to catch the eye of the crowd. Linus' swoop was a bright red, marked with brand names of companies that could give a dren about him and his races, but it got publicity nonetheless. And they made the bets go up. And that meant money.
Linus was a contract racer, he'd done some races for the Hutts all before Jabba had gone down. Then some other guys had moved in on the slug turf and now Linus had to pick and choose his races with care. He was used to rigged matches, some of them had gotten pretty dangerous. But nowadays, people just died, like falling off the bike and dying before the race even started. It almost made him paranoid, almost.
He reaffirmed his confidence in his overall life though in the span of seconds, revving his engine to a deafening roar. Not many humans could boast Wendel's kind of reflexes and he knew it. He used it to his advantage, driving a swoop that outclassed most and touched on the very edge of suicide. By the way things went now, it was even more motivating to push the envelope, he could die any second anyways.

"On your mark..."

He pulled his goggles down over his eyes and his dust mask up and over the rest of his face.

"Get set..."

The other bikes were picking up the tempo, sand and dust blasted everywhere. The track course was clear and visibile though, digitally represented in the mini-HUD in Linus' goggles.

"Go!"

The swoop bikes blasted into action, the whine of the hovermetrics filling the air as they cut through the rocky terrain. Linus hit a corner, centimeters from an outcropping, and slipped right under another racer. His red bike hummed comfortably, he wasn't even started, still accelerating to an optimum speed. An opponent came dangerously close, trying to scare Wendel into a wall. Linus bike definitely carried more weight and momentum with it though, and the attempt quickly backfired when Linus rammed this rival through a six foot gap between two stone pillars. Debris and ash splashed his view as he flew into a clearing. His HUD had him in the lead so far.

He gazed down upon the face of his dearest sibling and nodded, a short laugh playing out inside her mind marking his amusement at her comments. Such a silly one, his dear Deidera, always making such wonderful jokes, and bringing a smile to his cracked lips. With a short nod of approval he grinned deeply behind the black expanse that covered his face.

We shall make sure he bathes before he comes with us then, sister.

It meant a few more minutes upon this wretched planet, but to make his sister happy, oh it would be quite worth it indeed. He turned his attention back to his target, the race had began in the short passing of time he had been addressing his relation, he leaned in, trying to focus in upon the dear young boy. There he was.

Far in the lead, just as I expected. Such sharp reflexes, quick skills. Oh you choose this one well, sister, very well indeed.

He crossed his hands behind his back and continued to watch with fervent interest, the boy took every corner as if it were his last, showing no hesitation or fear of death in the least. An admirable trait indeed, and quite necessary for what was in store for him.

Go ahead boy, win your race. It's the only way for it to end - none of these other creatures has even a fleeting hope of beating you.

We shall make sure he bathes before he comes with us then, sister.

"Smashing plan, brother dear." She mumbled out, gazing at her nails, refraining from chewing at them as was her first impulse to do. She had left her trusty nail file with that pompous maid of hers. She had also left her beloved Terror in her possession, as well. What had she been thinking?

Her expression soured and she paid very little attention to the race laid out before them. What was the point? She couldn't enjoy it in such a terrible climate, with smelly aliens all over the place, and without her poor baby kitten to pet and spoil missing with that horrid woman. She was about to complain to her elder sibling when he spoke first.

Far in the lead, just as I expected. Such sharp reflexes, quick skills. Oh you choose this one well, sister, very well indeed.

"Why, thank you. But you know - "

"Miss Deidera! Oh little miss! Gracious, I got so lost, little one! I am so sorry!" The large woman cried from somewhere off in the distance. The little miss turned her head with a scowl and eyed her. Then, her eyes locked onto her kitten. Her poor baby!

"Give her to me, you horrible wench! She looks as if she's about to pass out right there!" She all but snarled, lurching up from her lounge chair and snatching the large white ball of fluff from her maid's arms. Clutching the anything but small cat close, she resumed her seat.

"Miss Deidera. Many pardons, little miss. You wanted water?"

Her hand stroked through the fur of her beloved pet and she, once again, turned her wrath-filled gaze upon the woman.

"Oh? I'm not thirsty..."

Go ahead boy, win your race. It's the only way for it to end - none of these other creatures has even a fleeting hope of beating you.

The words distracted Linus long enough to draw his attention from the oncoming obstacles that it really did appear to the onlooking crowd as if he were trying to commit suicide. Through sharp maneuvering, even by his standards, Linus barely escaped from a nasty collision with a 13 foot tall pillar of limestone. He pulled another turn though and cut across the designated course, his opponents catching up with him in seconds. His course though cut him right upon their paths as well, his bike came dangerously close to three other bikes simultaneously. All three and two more that were close behind suddenly veered off course. Immediate chaos occured, two bikes colliding with each other and another with an outcropping. Wendel gritted his teeth as he burned ozone to get away before anyone could recover.

That was probably the dirtiest move he'd ever made and he was sure he'd regret it somewhere down the line. He felt though that this place was coming to a conclusion and that the voice he'd heard had been the source of his malicious intent. Regardless though, his HUD displayed his position as an uncontested win though. The two remaining bikes had been damaged in the explosion of the other three and their pilots were now standing by for someone to pick them up.

The finish line drew up faster than Linus expected, he was a bit caught off guard now since the words had just popped into his head, a bit disoriented. He didn't even park his bike in the pit when the announcer claimed him the winner. He drove his bike out to the administrative building, grabbed his winnings and headed into the city. He would need to lay low fast before parties of opposing interest came after the guy who was legally responsible for the death of three swoop riders and had made money off of it.

He glared at the female creature who served them and let a low rumble echo through her mind.

Fail in your duties again, and I shall strike you down where you stand, meat.

His tone was as dark as he could make it, making sure to twist the words in her mind as they appeared, always best to strike home the point, rather than simply let it stand on it's own. He had no qualms removing her from this plain of existence, she was simply the replacement of another much like her, and the one before her had been the replacement of her predecessor, and so on. Stupid creatures, worthless for anything but the most menial of labor.

Now go... do something. I have no use for you for the time being.

He let her wander off and turned back to he carnage, the delicious wreckage, ah yes, the unmistakable scent of death. Well done my friend. He watched him take off immediately after the race, what was this? Startled by what happened? Of course you are. He smiled as wide as one could, through shattered skin and turned his head to look at his lovely sibling. He bent down to address her, going to one knee so he could look upon her face to face, his eyes caught upon hers through the red tinted prison that hid them.

I'm going to retrieve our new friend, dearest sister. Shall you remain here, or have the female beast of burden help you back to our temporary home?

He glanced towards the maid, busily wandering around as he had told her to do before. At least she could follow commands, if barely.

Deidera watched and listened in mild amusement as her loving brother threatened the cow’s life, smiling fondly when he was finished. One of her hands stroked through the thick, poofy fur of her beloved kitty cat Terror, the other fidgeted with the lace fan she had brought along to fan herself. Such horrid climate. She couldn’t wait to get out of this heat.

As if on cue, her brother knelt down at her side and she observed him through a narrowed gaze. The sun was somewhat daunted by the parasol her brother had recommended, but still, it was far too much on her fragile features. She was going to expire if he wanted her to come along. But, he knew her far too well and cared just enough to spare her. She giggled softly and stood, still shaded by the umbrella.

“I’ll go on home with the wench. Such heat, too many people. I feel filthy. “ She complained, shaking her head. Her gaze strolled away from his own briefly and locked on the wandering woman’s frame. She scowled. “Wretch! Get over here and grab my things, we are going home!” She called to her, surprised to see the woman react at all. She obeyed her orders. Deidera hid a smile behind the lacy fan.

“I eagerly await your return, love. Try not to be too long.” She informed him softly, bending and placing a resounding kiss on the side of his mask. Flicking her fan closed, she disappeared into the shifting crowds with her servant.

Linus headed down the stairs into his one room storage/living room and started to pack. Maybe he'd try Bespin? Or Ord Mantel? They supposedly had picked up in swoop races after the pod races had picked up some nasty new regulations that had made the business turn down a bit. Anywhere but here.
In moments, he had the essentials. Everything else was expendable. The money would cover the trip and then some. A few races later once he made it there and no problemo, home safe, no killer contracts for pointlessly killing a whole slew of opponents. Linus was hyperventilating by this time. Why? Why was he breathing so heavily? Right, he killed a TON of people. Unintentionally? No, he felt the guilt in the back of his throat. He'd done it knowingly, no one could cut a clear angle like that without sheer intent. Oh dren...

"What now?"

“I eagerly await your return, love. Try not to be too long.” A nod was returned to his sweet sister and an agreement.

Of course not, dear. Only long enough to collect our cargo and return. You may wish to pack, as something tells me we'll be leaving in a bit of a rush.

His words continued in her mind, long after she had vanished from his immediate vision. Turning on his heal he hunkered down a bit, feeling at the earth beneath. Where are you, boy? his words whispered around the immediate area, tracking, searching. He wasn't far off... he was. Ah, there you are you naughty little thing. He stood back at his full size and began off.

Passing through the crowds of filthy creatures he tried desparatly not to come into real contact with them. Disgusting beasts. Had he had the ability to, he would spit. The air of conversation that penetrated their minds and lips however, was MOST intriguing. His young friend was the hot topic of the day, some impressed and awed by his actions. Some stricken with horror and disgust. Such nice work, my dear boy. You are a catch indeed.

Before him now lay an assortment of buildings, all shapes and sizes, but only one mattered to him. He retained his course and headed up the stairs, just in time to hear him muttering to himself. A good sign indeed.

"What now?"

Words echoed into his mind, dark and sweet. He stood just at the doorway, his artificially red eyes shining against the dim penetration of light emerging through the old glass that gave view to the outside world.

Now you come with me.

Linus turned sharply on his heel, scared beyond belief. He made one step towards the doorway before his instinctive fear kicked in and his blaster was drawn and the trigger was pulled, aimed at the figure now standing in his doorway. His eyes were dilated and he wasn't focused at all. It was an action of skittish reflex, little else.

A primitive and useless response... The voice echoed across his mind, seemingly unspoken by human lips. He raised his hand and his eyes narrowed behind their reflective red coverings.

Put the gun down. There was no tone of request, or respect. Simply demand. He would put the gun down, there was no question to that. His will flowed over the young racer like a fountain, pouring its demands down upon him like so much refreshing liquid in this arid region. A smile curled deeply over his face and he nodded.

I'm not going to hurt you.

Linus dropped the gun to the floor without hesitation. His mouth open in astonishment for a second before he returned to awareness from the amount of awe he had just felt. He took a fighting stance and made fists before him as if he were prepared to go at hand to hand combat.

"Whateva' man. You look like you're going to hurt me, alrigh'?"

Linus shook his head and blinked rapidly a few times. How was this guy speaking so clearly through that suit. It was as if it was speaking in his head or something.

Walking forward he regarded his surroundings, filthy, such squalor would hardly befit himself. He regarded the boy as he came within reach of him and leaned forward to stare not into him, but through him. Searching every inch of his soul, his very being.

Relax. He told him again what he expected him to do. And then turned to the room before him.

This is what you make of your life? he quized him upon his surroundings, still taking in all around him. The sights, the subtle sounds and smells. Ah the smells, festering as they were...

As I said, you're coming with me. He returned his face to meet his young friends and cocked his head, just enough that the leather of his mask creeked in disapproval. We have quite a bit to do, and I have not the time to explain here.

Linus Wendel
Aug 12th, 2006, 02:37:18 AM
Linus relaxed on command. Was it really that simple? He found the question irrelevant shortly after asking himself. He did need to leave as soon as possible. And maybe this freak in the suit would be his free ride out.

"Yeah, whateva'. If I come, my ride comes too so you better have room."

He figures he better make sure that hes at least in control of the situation. Any guy who had the nerve to show up and dis Linus' living establishment better be ready to be abused in some way.

So brash, his young charge. They'd just met, and he already thought to make demands of him? Ah well, his 'demand' was what he had planned anyway - he would let him think he had won this small conflict of interest. His ego would swell, and his job would be made that much easier.

He pressed his thin digits to his chin in careful contemplation, as false as it may be, and finally nodded. Agreed.

With a the slightest of humble bows he motioned to the exit, once blocked by his imposing form and gave a curt nod.

Shall we then, my young friend?

Good. At least this guy wasn't too pushy was smart enough to recognize that he wouldn't be able to seperate the pilot from his ride. Linus grabbed his bag, stuffed to the brim with things, and trudged past the figure standing to the side. He slung his bag onto his vehicle and turned to the door way, arms cross over his chest.

"We better make it quick... I dunno how long I got til they come outta the hills for me."

Yes, let us make haste - before affairs become more troublesome.

He smiled, a smile that the boy would never see behand his leather confine and followed the boy outside, they would return to his domocile to pick up his dearest sister and there possessions before leaving this wretched world behind them. The cargo was acquired, and they no longer had a reason to remain. All was going in perfect sync with his plans.

He led the boy and his mechanical chariot through the busy city street, noticing his slight apprehension around crowds, no doubt in regards to the race he had so brutally won earlier. Still, no time for dilly or dally.

Do keep up, dear boy. We are almost there. He spoke without turning to address him, his eyes locked on his singular goal in front of him.

Linus followed well enough, wishing they would just get it in gear and be free of this place. Everyone, EVERYONE was staring. They all knew he was and they would all get angry at any moment. Converging on him and goggleface over there. He spoke but tried to make it so only goggleface would be the one to pay heed to it.

"I'm right behind, man. Lets just hurry and get off this rock..."

Try to relax, won't you? There is nothing to fear, especially not from the cattle that surrounds us.

He waved off the people who were stopping to stare at his acquisition and motioned Linus further on.

We shall abandon our earthly confine soon enough, but first.... They came upon the rather affluent home that he and his sibling had taken as their own when arriving on this track of land. An oasis in the desert, if ever there was one. A shame they must leave it behind when they leave this world. we have another travelling companion to acquire.

He cast his gaze upward to the second story of the home, and the window which allowed his eyes access to it's internal proceedings. What ARE you doing up there, dearest?

Deidera
Aug 27th, 2006, 03:46:32 AM
They puttered around the house for a little bit - Deidera having rushed into the refresher to clean up a bit the second she got inside. The sonic shower did wonders on her skin, but of course, she could never be clean enough or satisfied with the accommodations on such a horrible planet. The maid had entered upon her command, carrying a splendid dress of odarian style and made of the same cyrene silk that she preferred.

Slipping it on, she drew the top flap across the lower portion of her chest and fastened it. Observing her bust in the mirror she stood before, she pasted on a pleased smile and adjusted the slits on either side of the gown so they were aligned properly against her thighs. She left her hair down, noting that it was as lovely as usual and there was no need to punish it despite the near unbearable heat.

The moment she stepped out of the bathroom, the smile faded from her face. The most horrible sound imaginable echoed down the hallway in which she stood. Snarling, she tore off down the corridor and came to stand in the master bedroom. Huddled in the corner was her beloved little kitten, hissing and clawing at the bloated cow desperately trying to calm her. Fire leapt into her eyes and she approached. It was then, the woman took note of her and stepped away from the crazed feline..

"What did you do to her...?" She whispered coldly, backing the woman against the balcony door frame.

"Little miss! It was an accident. Really! I just stepped on her tail. It was an accident!" She insisted frantically, warding the fancily attired, peeved girl. Opening the balcony door with shaking hands, she rushed out onto it, seeking to escape the murder that filled Deidera's eyes.

"An accident..? Just an accident.." She laughed. The sound crescendoed to a most terrifying echo. It died down after a while and she followed her out onto the balcony. Such a mistake. "Perhaps.. you should have an accident!" She hissed, her hands lurching forward. They struck her chest hard, but rather than stopping there, she shoved. The woman shrieked and then slipped over the railing, landing on the ground before her brother and his friend with a sickening thud.

She pouted and leaned over the railing, her bosom resting against it enticingly. Her gaze danced over the man's features and her grin appeared - it was as though she hadn't just killed someone.

"Is this him?" She asked in a sultry voice, working her Zeltron charm without much effort.

Linus jaw was unhinged, the dead body on the floor had been slightly sudden in his opinion. He'd heard of the Hutts and pit bosses taking a fella' out for a poor disposition or a few digits in debt but the plump body of the maid now flat and motionless against the floor seemed hard to believe was capable of such a deed demanding such consequences.

And the creature responsible for such an act was even harder to take as the serious perpatrator of the given execution. His eyes trailed up towards her, glued to her rack for a moment and then continued up to the flawless face. Hot.

"Yo, why didn't ya' say she was comin' along?"

The dead body was forgotten.

A shake of his head flowed loosely at the scene that had came to pass before his eyes.

It looks like we'll need a new maid.

He motioned towards the shining beauty upon the balcony, and then towards their guest.

Young friend, allow me to introduce my sister, Deidera. He could feel his gaze upon her form, his eyes threatening to burn right through her with the heat of his thoughts. Like my sister do you? He kept his thoughts private for a moment, continue to think of her that way - ah yes do, it will keep you strung along, perhaps she will play a game with you as well. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

With a twitch of his neck he turned his attention back to his sibling, Allow me to introduce Mr. Linus Wendel - this... sister, is as you asked, him. He didn't move his head, but addressed Linus, words spoken softly into his mind.

As we seem to be lacking in a maid, would you do us the courtesy of helping move our meager belongings to the space station? Time to test the waters.
