I'm in Hawaii at the Hawaiian Prepatory Academy. Not much posting time, so this is just my check in. I'll be back in a few days.

I actually have a journal this time so I'll have a decent log of events.

I burnt myself to a ripe red crisp kayaking and snorkling at Kealakakua Bay. This will not be a fun plane ride home. I need to soak in an aloe vera bath.>_<

Funny thing about Hawaii, they have all these wyrrd names for clouds.

You have your clouds, your fog, and your smog

but you also have:

Vog (volcanic fog- IE fog laced with sulur dioxide.
and this thing that I can't remember the name of. but it's formed when the lava hits the water. There's some chemical reaction where you get Hydrochloric acid in the cloud and it'll come down as acid rain.

At the ranger station before heading out there was this little TV screen and had a rendered map of the area and labeled how 'safe' the air was along the lava fields.

...but to answer your questions, those are just low hanging clouds. The stuff we're walking through by the steam vents was vog. :)

The main reason I would go to Hawaii is to visit the Arizona and Missouri. That and the JMSDF is visiting with a fleet on the 18th of August, complete with free tours.

It'd have to be next year sometime, to where I can actually save up enough to go up to Alabama, to S'Ils sweet home. I'll choose Brauts as my beef for the BYOB. It'd be sweet to shoot some guns, wrestle around a little bit, and so forth.
