This comes out today, I would like to see though I don't know when I will. Still it isn't getting great reviews, which is surprise for a M Night movie. I like him as a director but I think he should stop writing his own scripts.

I think The Village burned a lot of people - I hope that isn't influencing the critics when they see this movie.
I plan on seeing it, but I don't know when. Clerks II gets my dollar today. :p

I am not too sure about Clerks 2, I can wait for DVD for it. I think you are right about the village. Also I understand there is a character who is a critic in the movie. He gets hurt or killed by the monster, I wonder if that is influencing them.

:lol That's awesome!
At least in this movie the monsters hurt and kill people. ;) And I happened to really enjoy The Village, though my husband was expecting more scary movie because of the way the previews made the movie look. Hopefully Lady in the Water's previews haven't portrayed the movie in a false light.
I would see it just to watch Bryce Dallas Howard, however.

The previews for the Village were very misleading. It made it look like a horror movie. I think Lady in the Water has some mixture of horror.

For me it worked out great, because I don't paticularly care for horror movies. ;)

I really liked The Village, too--one of the only people I know who did. I think M. Night is brilliant, though I really don't want to become that obsessive fan who would literally watch paint drying if he wrote the script and directed the footage...
But in the meantime, I still hold out a candle of hope for Lady, though the reviews I read this morning were scathing. I'm worried, but still gonna go see it.
Did anybody else see The Devil Wears Prada (and if there was already a thread for this, my apologies ^_^)? This might have been the best movie all summer. Go see it if you haven't.

His best movies to me are his first three. Sixth Sense and Signs are great movies and Unbreakable is a very good movie. The Village I liked but just not as much as the first three.

You can make a thread for it. ;) Searching is pretty easy too. :mneh
But I will be seeing Lady, its just a matter of finding someone else to see it with me. :)

So far I've really enjoyed Night's movies. Liked Sixth Sense and The Village (though I thought TSS it was a bit overrated), really liked Unbreakable and Signs. I probably won't go see Lady in the Water in the theater, due to all the poor reviews, but I definitely want to catch it on DVD.
As for Clerks II, I don't know. I like a lot of Kevin Smith's movies, but Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was just a bit too kooky for me - since that one I don't know how up I am for Clerks II. It's another one I'll probably check out when it comes to DVD.

The Village was mind-jarringly terrible. I mean, even compared with other bad movies. It definitely soured the milk for me, and there's nothing about Lady in the Water that makes me want to pay for a movie ticket.
I'll check it out on DVD perhaps, but I'm not even sure of that.
I'm looking forward to My Super Ex-Girlfriend actually :)

Took the kids last night I thought it was pretty good. Has anyone else seen it?

It was kinda hokey and semi pretentious, but quite frankly it was better than I expected it to be.

I still want to see this, but I think I will have to wait until it comes out on DVD and then sneak it past the hubby. ^_^;

I really liked Unbreakable. I wondered how come I never heard how good it was before Id seen it.
Also..did you know that Donnie Wahlberg was the guy in the bathroon who shot Bruce Willis Character in the Sixth Sense? (Yes..I saw it on TrueE hollywood story - The New Kids on the Block episode).
I was quite literally floored at that revelation. I had NO idea.
He also was in Band of Brothers...wth?
Shows what I know.
I will wait for DVD for Lady in the Water...the trailers dont pique my interest at all like Nights other films.

He is very talented. I knew him as Lipton from BoB but now that you mention it, Hera, I recognise him in the Sixth Sense. And when you think about the differences in those two characters alone, you begin to appreciate just how gifted he is.

Yeah, I was quite impressed, to say the least.
