View Full Version : True Calling

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 15th, 2006, 02:32:50 PM
It had been six long and dreadful weeks aboard the Star Destroyer Termagent that Miranda Tarkin had to endure. Her only reprieve was spewing out dogmatic rhetoric to promote Imperial unity in hopes to rally the common citizen to take up arms against the Rebellion. The imitative wasn't progressive, nor the magical savior to the Empire's problem. It was just pretty words used to get people in jobs that the government and military desperately needed to keep the machine running effectively. By all counts, it should have floundered and died but Miranda spun her words around so effectively that she had the citizens dancing like puppets.

That was why COMPNOR had chosen her for the tour. Miranda had a way of turning a rotten egg into an edible meal without becoming sick. It was just infuriating that the Empire wouldn't use her talents to the fullest! She was delegated to her station for the rest of her life because she was female. If not for that fact, she could easily have made a bid for the throne. Instead, she had to rely on her name to get the money and power that she had today, which was peanuts as far as she was concerned. Miranda loved the Empire as much as her father and grandfather, but because of it's chauvinistic views, her potential was wasted, doomed to fizzle and die ... Much like the Empire was heading since Palpatine's death. Something needed to be done and soon, otherwise the Rebellion was going to win.

She steered her Baudo-class star yacht, fondly named the Koriolos, towards the 160-meter long yacht before her named the Xiombarg. Sorsha had left word to meet her here once Miranda had settled in from her long trip. They had been separated for far too long.

"Koriolos to Xiombarg. Sorsha's expecting me." Miranda tapped at the console until her clearance vector was verified.

Confirm Koriolos. Welcome back Miss Tarkin. The Boss is very happy that you're home. Docking bay 1 has been cleared for your shuttle.

"Thank you. Koriolos out." She cut the engines to a quarter and eased her yacht alongside the larger yacht, matching it's orbit around Coruscant. She left her personal crew in charge until she returned and boarded an Imperial shuttle, it was given to her as one of the few perks for working with the Empire, and flew on the given vector. Upon entering the docking bay, and as promised, she saw not a single ship, shuttle or fighter. What she did see was Sorsha with a small entourage waiting a safe distance near the blast doors. For the first time in six weeks, Miranda smiled genuinely as the ship touched down.

Jul 16th, 2006, 12:07:49 PM
"Welcome home, my Sweet." purred Sorsha as she walked up to her lover and reveled in a kiss.

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 17th, 2006, 04:40:19 PM
Perhaps a month ago Miranda would have politely held Sorsha at bay, but things change. She welcomed the boldness and returned the kiss fervently, something Miranda hadn't done before in public.

She pulled away slowly and looked deeply into her love's eyes as if looking at them for the first time. "It's been too long. I've missed you."

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 17th, 2006, 04:48:02 PM
:: She caught Miranda's hands, playfully tugging on them as she danced about the hanger ::

"How was your trip?"

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 17th, 2006, 04:52:51 PM
Miranda giggled at Sorsha's antics, who was being quite adorable. Though the thought of her tour easily wipe away her good cheer and created a loathsome scowl. "It was terrible. The only good thing about it was staying aboard a Star Destroyer but as usual, some unruly pilots even had to ruin that."

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 17th, 2006, 05:01:52 PM
"Oh? I trust they were suitably disciplined and cast into space."

:: A round of laughter came from her small entourage and she winked ::

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 17th, 2006, 05:19:42 PM
"Disciplined, yes." Her eyes grew aggravated. "Spaced? No."

Normally Sorsha's good nature was eventually infectous towards Miranda, but not as of yet. Well, for a little it had been when greeting her lover but Miranda's own mood was still terribly soured by the entire six week ordeal.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 17th, 2006, 05:25:51 PM
"A pity."

:: Sorsha sighed, then she smiled ::

"Anyway, you're just in time for a feast."

:: She kissed Miranda upon the lips again as they made their way up to the throne room ::

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 17th, 2006, 05:31:16 PM
"A feast?" Miranda asked as she entwined her arm around Sorsha's. "Last time that happened you had me running scared."

This time her voice held a touch of playfulness.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 17th, 2006, 05:35:41 PM
"Of course!" Sorsha laughed. "In honor of your return home."

:: The doors to the throne room opened and Sorsha's musicians broke into a revel with pipes and drums as they entered ::

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 17th, 2006, 05:43:37 PM
The eloquent Miranda was speechless. Sorsha had out done herself with decorating the throne room in festive streamers and ribbons. The amount of food was exuberant and smelled utterly delicious. She even went to the length of bringing on board her favorite entertainers who's loud and cheerful chords brought out another smile on Miranda's face.

She tightened her hold around Sorsha's arm and spoke awed, "You really didn't have to do this."

It was like day had quickly become night in her life. The bureaucratic nonsense of six weeks had been peeled back into an enormous celebration ... and it was exactly what she needed.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 18th, 2006, 02:22:15 PM
"Of course I did."

:: Sorsha kissed her on the cheek and took a seat to watch the fire twirlers ::

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 18th, 2006, 03:29:39 PM
Miranda sat down next to Sorsha and buried her face within her hands. "You are insane!"

Which was soon followed by a joyous laugh.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 18th, 2006, 03:44:33 PM
:: The court settled down and the feast began, with the same exquisite variety of fine food and drink that Miranda enjoyed during her last visit onboard ::

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 18th, 2006, 03:51:46 PM
And this time, Sorsha made certain to keep the hot and spicy foods far away from Miranda's side of the table. Everyone ate and drank merrily. Even several low ranked Enforcers offered a toast to welcome back Miranda from her journey. An act that was welcomed and appreciated since it was said truthfully, not some mockery of protocol that forced people to like her. It had always been that way since Sorsha had risen through the ranks of the Assassin Guild and then Black Sun.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 18th, 2006, 04:03:20 PM
:: Dinner passed with mirth and tales of brigandry in the Outer Rim territories. Then all of Sorsha's courtiers exited the throne room, leaving the two of them in an eerie quiet ::

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 18th, 2006, 04:05:59 PM
Miranda kicked her legs up onto the dinner table and leaned back in her chair comfortably. She would never dare to do this in public. It was so unlady like. "Thank you for this. You always know when I need cheering up."

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 18th, 2006, 04:15:37 PM
"It pleases me to serve you, which leads us to this ..."

:: She paused, holding up her hand as she emptied her goblet of mead ::

"... the place I have made for you, are you ready to take it?"

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 18th, 2006, 04:19:05 PM
Her eyes narrowed in dislike of Sorsha's comment. "You do not serve me. I hate it when you say things like that. What you built here is from your blood and sweat. I'm just the one making sure you got to the top because I love you."

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 18th, 2006, 04:24:09 PM
:: Sorsha leaned forward to rest her chin in her hands ::

"You evade the question, my sweet." she countered politely.

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 18th, 2006, 04:27:31 PM
"No I answered it indirectly," she countered. "I do not take what is rightfully yours."

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 18th, 2006, 04:37:19 PM
"We share everything." she smiled, reaching out to hold Miranda's hand.

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 18th, 2006, 04:40:37 PM
"No. We don't." She pulled her feet off the table and looked at Sorsha sternly. "My work with the Empire is not shared, nor is the Underworld that you control. Our domains are separate and always will be. What little I've done for Black Sun under your watchful eye compares nothing to what you have accomplished."

Miranda shook her head. "As much as I do want it, you were groomed since birth for this. I was merely labeled 'Tarkin'."

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 18th, 2006, 04:46:26 PM
"Then maybe it's time you became who you really are. Tell me Miranda, what do you want?"

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 18th, 2006, 04:47:49 PM
She waved Sorsha off dismissively, "You already know what I want."

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 18th, 2006, 05:09:25 PM
"I admire your dedication ...

:: She ran her fingers through her hair and closed her eyes ::

"... but you confound me."

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 18th, 2006, 05:15:15 PM
"Please explain how I confound you." Sorsha hated politics, this wasn't news, but much of what her empire had been built upon was because of politics. The displeasure of being labeled had its perks and Miranda was proud of her heritage ... She just wasn't comforted by the fact her heritage was fading into oblivion by ingrates that were running the Galactic Empire.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 18th, 2006, 07:20:35 PM
"You dedicate yourself to those who care nothing about your dreams, only what they can get from riding on your legacy. They are pigs, Miranda."

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 18th, 2006, 07:29:59 PM
Miranda slumped in the chair, despising those truths. She felt the need to defend herself. "It wasn't always like that, Sorsha. You know that. The Empire was strong and proud under Palpatine ..."

But as she spoke, quickly her tone became venomous. "... but you are right. They placate me with just enough power and dangle more over my head that I can never obtain. I'm just their poster face errand girl now, doing what I'm told to do for the good of an Empire I care nothing about."

With a lengthy sigh, she continued. "Not anymore. Endor ruined me and my faith in it."

It was difficult to admit that out loud and Sorsha could sense it.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 18th, 2006, 07:47:36 PM
"Palpatine awarded my Father a Baronial title. I grieve his loss as deeply as you do. He was a great man."

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 18th, 2006, 07:52:18 PM
Silence blanketed the two as Miranda struggled with her past and what little future awaited her on her current path. Sorsha was as patience as ever, allowing her lover the time to wrestle with the ball of emotions and ambitions tumbling within her.

"I know nothing of this life. It would not work." The strength in her voice had returned and she regarded Sorsha with a smile. "Truly you must see that."

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 18th, 2006, 08:00:14 PM
"You have an inner circle that I dare say surpasses the one Xizor had. His dynasty is ended. This one can be yours. I shall be at your side."

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 18th, 2006, 08:07:07 PM
"Sorsha my love," she began with an ounce of a chuckle, "My so called inner circle doesn't even know I've been helping to bankroll your operation. The only hidden truth they know is of our romantic involvement."

Miranda brushed Sorsha's cheek softly before cradling the goblet in her hand. "You being at my side doesn't seem right either. You've done all the work. Shouldn’t it be the other way around?”

That was the thought of her heart, but it was also that thought which made her stomach quite ill. She should be where Sorsha placed her. On top and in charge. That was the power she craved.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 19th, 2006, 12:21:38 PM
"Tell me you don't want it, and I shall leave it at that."

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 19th, 2006, 12:36:56 PM
She swallowed the wine and opened her mouth to say no, but Miranda couldn't bring herself to do it. Of course she wanted it! Sorsha was offering her all the power that she deserved, only her feelings were standing in the way of saying yes.

No. That wasn't entirely true either. There was fear attached to her indecison as well. She was always known as Miranda, the gem of the Empire. How would people react to her being involved with Black Sun?

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 19th, 2006, 12:41:46 PM
:: A wild smile played about Sorsha's lips as she waited for the awnser ::

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 19th, 2006, 12:46:39 PM
Deeply she sighed, setting down the goblet. Sorsha knew her too well and was expecting nothing less then acceptance of her proposal. "Of course I want it. I just have ... concerns ... "

Sorsha was one of them. She really did feel her lover deserved more then just being delegated to just an enforcer. Sasseeri was another. The Cizeracki's reaction to this change was unpredictable but Miranda was certain the female would enjoy learning of her involvement in Black Sun...

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 19th, 2006, 01:13:58 PM
:: Sorsha folded her hands on the table ::

"Please tell."

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 19th, 2006, 02:34:20 PM
"I meant what I said. It would be ... odd for you to be just at my side. You've work so hard and I've done so little. Without knowing the Underworld, how can I possibly expect to lead anyone?" Her nose curled in disgust. "Then there is Sasseeri..."

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 19th, 2006, 02:48:38 PM
"You underestimate yourself I think. As for Sasseeri, her paranoia since the Gank attack has managed to keep her out of the way. I've established several ties for us in Mid-Rim, and Arriana has returned from her leave."

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 19th, 2006, 02:53:38 PM
"Which brings me to my third concern which I've already stated. Everyone is loyal to you. Not to me." Arriana's return was a surprise, a welcomed one at that. She had been gone for several months.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 19th, 2006, 02:58:43 PM
"Once it's established that you're the one buttering their bread, they'll serve you without question. Besides, you're an easy face to fall in love with." ;)

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 19th, 2006, 03:04:26 PM
"You have an answer for everything, don't you?" She mused in defeat, though her expression was nothing less then lighthearted. "You won't let me say no."

Miranda pryed Sorsha's hand away from the other and wove her fingers between her lover's. "Are you sure you are good with the arrangement?"

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 19th, 2006, 03:27:27 PM
:: Sorsha nearly trilled as she bridged the gap between them, to straddle Mira's lap in perfect bliss ::

"Very much so."

:: Her eyes sparkled as a word formed upon her lips ::

"Dalethria."

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 19th, 2006, 03:39:32 PM
Miranda held Sorsha by the hips as her lips curled upwards in a delightful grin. Perhaps this would be doable after all. She would have to work with Sorsha far more intimately then in the past to learn how the business thrived. It was a pleasurable thought.

"Dalethria."

That name confused her. "Why do you call me that?"

Dalethria was an imaginary playmate that the two of them shared as children. Miranda hadn't heard that name for over a decade.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 19th, 2006, 03:47:56 PM
"You shall need a name if you wish to keep the Tarkin legacy an Imperial one."

:: She pressed her belly against Mira's and kissed her deeply ::

"Dalethria is fierce and free, a fitting name for the Queen of Black Sun."

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 19th, 2006, 04:07:57 PM
All the traits she wanted to possess. Correction … will possess. And why not? The name was only uttered between the two of them. No one would know the origins, leaving Dalethria practically anonymous.

With a burst of strength, Miranda lifted Sorsha up for a moment before setting her on the edge of the table. "It's unfortunate I can't be King and you my Queen," she purred into her lover's mouth before attacking her neck.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 19th, 2006, 04:13:39 PM
:: Sorsha tossed her head back to bare her throat, groaning contently as she gave herself to her lover ::

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 19th, 2006, 04:20:21 PM
Miranda greedily accepted the offered flesh that had been denied her. With all the talk of power and influence, her greatest desire would always be that of Sorsha.

With her needs sated for now, she nestled her head against the nape of Sorsha's neck, relaxing within their embrace. "I have so much to learn and little time to do it."

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 19th, 2006, 04:26:40 PM
:: Sorsha held Miranda's face in her hands, and pet her mouth with fingertips as she spoke ::

"What makes you say that?"

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 19th, 2006, 04:30:04 PM
"Dazzling ingrate Imperials with big words is one thing." She smiled. "I fear that won't work so well with my new acquisition unless I have some sort of clue as to what it is I am talking about."

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 19th, 2006, 04:48:15 PM
"Alright. Where would you like to start?"

:: She sat up on the table and cross her legs as she took a piece of fruit and bit into it ::

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 19th, 2006, 04:50:20 PM
Miranda fell back into her chair and shrugged. "I don't know where to start. You tell me."

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 19th, 2006, 05:01:24 PM
"Well, I suppose I can brief you on the meeting in a few days."

:: She paused to stretch and held out the fruit to share with Mira ::

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 19th, 2006, 05:04:28 PM
That piqued Miranda's curiosity and took the fruit, ripping it in two with her fingers and held one half to Sorsha. "By the tone of your voice this sounds like an important meeting."

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 19th, 2006, 05:09:25 PM
:: Sorsha took the fruit and continued ::

"Yes. There is a matter that must be dealt with concerning one of the Kajidics. I shut down a spice factory just outside of Mos Eisley last week."

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 19th, 2006, 05:11:20 PM
She groaned. "Hutt politics. Maybe I should reconsider."

Miranda was half kidding.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 19th, 2006, 05:17:22 PM
:: Sorsha burst into laughter ::

"Not to worry, precious. I spent alot of time learning from Jabba, and my Mother's side of the family have been Hutt Counselors for three generations."

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 19th, 2006, 05:23:27 PM
"I know." She smiled appreciatively. Miranda's family had zero influence over Hutt affairs or even an inkling to their intricate politics. On the other hand, Sorsha's family had formed very close ties with them. Her parents even named Jabba the Hutt as her godfather. "Please, continue."

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 19th, 2006, 05:34:08 PM
"Have you ever heard of Tempest Spice?"

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 19th, 2006, 05:37:22 PM
"Yes," Miranda's eyes narrowed wondering where this was heading. "It's a combination of glitterstim and a virus from the Hutt homeworld."

She might have her limitations in understanding how the Underworld worked, but Miranda was far from stupid.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 19th, 2006, 05:45:48 PM
"Niska the Hutt has decided to make it a focus, with Tatooine a major center for distribution."

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 19th, 2006, 05:49:20 PM
"He is a competitor?" Sorsha nodded. "Then you are not taking too kindly to him since he's trying to step on your toes."

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 19th, 2006, 05:51:33 PM
"Correct. Trust me when I say it's not the kind of trade we want spreading."

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 19th, 2006, 05:54:03 PM
"I agree. Laced spice is the last thing Black Sun would want to be associated with." Miranda frowned. "Illegal as our goods are, they aren't meant to spread disease around. A society of mindless drones is the last thing I want."

As complacent as some citizens were, the use of Tempest spice would only cause the highest level of addictions resulting in chaos. Miranda liked order.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 20th, 2006, 01:43:52 PM
"So this meeting concerns Black Sun on all levels. However, I haven't contacted Sasseeri about this. Her hatred of me has become irrational."

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 20th, 2006, 03:11:31 PM
"Well my sweet, she probably took that meeting you had several months ago quite personally." Sorsha had tried to be nice to Sasseeri, explaining to the Cizerack that she was in charge. Blood had not been spilled but lines had been drawn that day.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 20th, 2006, 03:47:24 PM
"Perhaps she would be more receptive to Dalethria."

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 20th, 2006, 03:49:57 PM
She chuckled, "I'm not so sure. I could try. Though I have a feeling that her views will be colored since you will still be at my side. Everything I do we do together, my love."

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 20th, 2006, 03:51:52 PM
:: Sorsha nodded, her brow furrowed in deep thought ::

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 20th, 2006, 03:54:44 PM
Miranda noticed the look and scooted her chair forward, allowing her to massage Sorsha's thighs. "What is going on in that beautiful head of yours?"

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 20th, 2006, 03:57:47 PM
"Niska." she murmured, closing her eyes.

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 20th, 2006, 04:00:38 PM
"I take it we can't just blow his operations up?" Miranda frowned, "Otherwise this wouldn't be troubling you as much."

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 20th, 2006, 04:06:45 PM
:: She opened her eyes again ::

"He's Anjiliac. One of the big three as the Kajidics go."

:: She shifted on the table, stretching her legs out and leaning back on her hands ::

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 20th, 2006, 04:27:23 PM
Sorsha was making it very difficult to talk business. What Miranda really wanted to do was shove everything off the table and have her for dessert.

She smirked, the desire evident in her eyes but Miranda kept herself in check. "What have you done thus far to keep Niska off Tatooine?" A question she should have asked first, but she was being easily distracted.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 20th, 2006, 04:59:41 PM
"I don't want to draw that kind of attention if I can help it. Perhaps some additional Blastboats. The GAT-J upgrade carries a higher payload."

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 20th, 2006, 05:03:05 PM
"You plan on stopping the shipments before they even touch down then?"

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 20th, 2006, 05:13:18 PM
:: Sorsha's lips curled in that wicked smile Miranda knew all too well ::

"Yurga has an outpost in the Si'Klaata Cluster. The additional skiprays could intercept any reprisals from Niska."

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 20th, 2006, 05:16:38 PM
"That would work as long as Niska doesn't realize that Yurga is on our side." Her brow quirked upwards in question.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 20th, 2006, 05:21:37 PM
"The ships will be quite efficient in assuring there are no survivors. Fitted with cloaks, they wouldn't be felt until it was too late."

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 20th, 2006, 05:25:27 PM
"What is our backup plan incase he does find out?" Miranda ran her hands down Sorsha's legs to occupy her mind. "From what you've told me, Hutts have a tendency to piece things together. Especially when they are loosing money."

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 20th, 2006, 05:29:12 PM
"That will be one of the major topics being brought to the table on Rodia."

:: She closed her eyes again, a blissful grin upon her lips ::

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 20th, 2006, 05:39:16 PM
Miranda was loosing the battle against lust. She ran her hands up to Sorsha's hips and pushed her against her body. "We will need to plan for Sasseeri's response to our restructuring. What else will be brought up besides the obvious?"

As in her. Considering that Sorsha had a faithful following, most of her lieutenants would see Miranda as an extension of her lover's will. Something that should be solidified once they realize that Miranda has been bankrolling Sorsha's operation for over a year.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 20th, 2006, 06:32:48 PM
:: Sorsha squeaked, but managed to keep her composure ::

"This is the end of the business month, so there will be a full review of all our holdings. As for Sasseeri, that will need to be decided."

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 20th, 2006, 06:42:24 PM
"Ah," her eyes lit up. "Perfect timing for my arrival. I will require that information beforehand. I want to enter that meeting fully informed. I know you'll be there but I have to show strength and leadership. Those present will not care unless I prove I'm their superior in everyway."

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 20th, 2006, 06:48:27 PM
"As you wish."

:: Sorsha wriggled out of Miranda's grasp and slid off the table to stretch ::

"Follow me, my pretty, pretty pretty."

:: The doors to the throne room slid open ::

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 20th, 2006, 06:51:34 PM
Miranda complied eagerly and followed her lover out of the throne room. By the turns in the hallway, their destination was Sorsha's personal quarters.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 20th, 2006, 07:16:14 PM
:: They passed a few courtiers on the way, a Dug and a Zeltron, who bowed to Sorsha and Miranda as they walked by. Arriving in her quarters, Sorsha walked directly over to her desk and took a seat ::

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 20th, 2006, 07:21:47 PM
Miranda walked around and sat on the edge of the desk next to Sorsha, as always. She crossed her arms and watched her lover cue up the computer with much patience.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 20th, 2006, 07:26:51 PM
:: Sorsha brought up her personal database ::

"Where shall we start? Corporate ties or front companies?"

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 20th, 2006, 07:29:34 PM
"Corporate ties." Starting with legitimate businesses seemed the proper way to start. Miranda would have a better foundation of information to build upon when the other topic came up.

Sorsha Kasajian
Jul 20th, 2006, 07:50:03 PM
:: A holographic display sprung to life, a complete glaxy map. She narrowed it down to Tatooine, and a list of companies and businesses came up ::

D/Crypt Information Services

Kayson's Weapons Shop

The Lucky Despot

Sandstorm Shipping Concern

Star Chamber Cafe

Swift Hutt Spacer's Service Depot

Ubrikkian Transports

Miranda Tarkin
Jul 21st, 2006, 02:56:26 PM
Miranda cued up information on the holdings she was unfamiliar with.

Kayson's Weapons Shop was a firearms distributor.

Sandstorm Shipping Concern was a transport agency.

The Star Chamber Cafe was a restaurant.

Swift Hutt Spacer's Service Depot was a repair facility.

Ubrikkian Transports and D/Crypt Information Services were known to Miranda. The Empire had employed their services often for Star Destroyer construction and information gathering. She had also been to the Lucky Despot, having played a few hands of Sabbacc there herself along with Sorsha.

Next she cued up what specific contracts Sorsha had acquired through them and what their profit margins were.

"Huh." Miranda smirked and looked down at her lover. "And what is your secret weapon in gaining so much profit?"

:: Sorsha tilted her head all the way back, to look up at Miranda with a feline smile ::

"You."

"Hah. Slight correction." She playfully scolded. "My resources did. Have our front companies offered similar jumps in profit?"

:: Sorsha raised a finger as she slowed Miranda down ::

"Remember when I told you your investments would give back a high return in profits? I think it's fair to say that they've paid for themselves."

:: She made a kissy face and tapped her lips with her index finger ::

She bowed her head and waved a hand apologetically. "I stand corrected ...

... brat."

Miranda grinned.

"The Lucky Despot gets a constant flow of credits, as does the Star Chamber Cafe since I got rid of Lady Valarian."

"Ah, that Whiphid." Miranda read through the file and noticed that her departure coincided with her cleansing of the gangs in that area. With some remodeling, the place became respectable. Fewer scoundrels wandered in, unless they were guarding their boss that had the money.

"Kazia is in charge now?" Miranda read through her file since the name wasn't familiar. "A Zeltron?"

"'She's with Corvus, so I gave her the Despot as part of the spoils for a job well done. She's very sharp, and the increase in profits prove it."

"Ah. I see." What Sorsha meant was that Kazia and Corvus were involved. As long as it didn't upset business, Miranda could care less. After all, she was in one herself.

"I look forward to Rodia. Some there I will be meeting for the first time..." She paused, sitting up right with a serious gaze," ... and some not, though it would be for them."

:: Sorsha brought up a personnel database, complete with profiles ::

"These are all the people who work from you, top to bottom."

It was an extensive list. One in which Miranda would need more time to read thoroughly, along with everything else going on. This was just an introduction to endless amount of information she would have to commit to memory before the meeting on Rodia. She would have no trouble doing it; she just needed the time in order to sit down quietly to review the material. Her memory was impressive, eerily so. Not quite photographic, she could memorize a forty-five minute speech on the way to any engagement. Many were quite envious of that trait.

Time was quickly ticking away. It was close to midnight now, Coruscant time of course. "Copy all of the information you have shown me as well as anything else that I would need to know for the meeting."

"Oh?" Miranda stroked Sorsha's cheek with a grin. "You sure you want me poking around. I might find some dirty little secret of yours that you wouldn't want me finding out."
