The training grounds were quiet, cast in shadow, and empty. It was late in the evening and most of the sith were sleeping. The sith took their sleep cycle very seriously. They all knew that if Zereth caught them up late at night thay they would be in big trouble. Zereth had forced the other sith to accept the fact that even if they were supposively all powerful beings of the darkside that their bodies still needed energy giving slumber to keep them going. Some of them claimed that the force was enough to supply their energy needs. But Zereth had only to show them a holo of Darth Sidious' face and they were in bed before everyone else was. Sidious was a being who relied too heavily on the force to keep him alive, and it the cost of such power was visible on his physical appearence and the corruption of his mind. Zereth did not want the sith under his tutelage to drop to that level, to become dependant on the force like some kind of drug.

Anways...

Zereth was up and waiting in the training room. Many objects and devices sat around in the gloom. Training equipment, weapons, and training drones all sat about, their forms turned grey in the faint light of a single light that sat high above Zereth's head. Light was not needed tonight. For both Zereth and his new student could see extremely well in the dark. Ambrose was a vampire and Zereth had genetically altered eyes that allowed him increased nightvision. They would be able to have their training in perfect darkness if they wanted.

All that remained was for Ambrose to show up...

The time had come for the Vampire to rise. He was different than all the other fellow Sith that called the order home. All of the members here were on times, when to sleep and when to wake. But the rules had to be bent for this being of darkness. He had to sleep durring the day and arise at night. It had only been a couple of minutes since he had awaken from his deep slumber when he felt a familiar surge in the force. After he aquired all of his personal belongings, Ambrose embarked into the halls. He could now feel that the one who had utilized the force for telepathic powers was his new mentor Zereth. As he walked down the halls, turning corners and passing by many ancient pieces of art and tapestries, he finally came to stand in front of two ancient archaic style carved double doors. The designs were hard to make out on the mohogony wooden door, but they held significant meaning. With ease, the Sith opened the door. No creak was heard as he entered the room.

The traning vault was one of his favorite rooms. The vaulted cellings reminded him of his old home on the planet of Roon. The carvings upon the walls told of ancient battle's past, of legends long dead. As he walked past two pillars that supported the ancient vaulted ceeling, he came to a hault a few meters away from Zareth. Ambrose did not say a word, he clasped his hands behind his back in respect. Ambrose kept his gaze upon Zareth, never wavering.

"Tell me," Zereth said without looking up at Ambrose, "How much do you know of the force?" It was a standard question. Zereth needed to know what his apprentices knew before he could teach them, or he may end up running over lessons already learned. He sat in silence for a moment before finally raising his red eyes to look at Ambrose, "For how can I teach you without knowing what knowledge you already possess."

Ambrose stood in front of Zareth in a respective manner, his hands clasped behind his back. The Vampire did not move while his mentor spoke to him. The moonlight filtered in through the windows that adorned the walls of the room. His shadow mimiced every movement he made. The question that had been proposed to him was very simple. Ambrose had learned many things while under the tutalege of his former master. Lord Soth was a great teacher within the force, although he did not teach him everything, now would be the time for him to attain that knowlege that he had lost.

"I know of many different aspects of the force. I have had extensive training in lightsaber techniques, and with some force powers. I have been trained in the art of teleqenisis, and telepathy, among the art of sencing the force in others."

Because of who he was, Ambrose had many other talents. As a Vampire, Ambrose had the strength that surpassed that of a normal being. Also he had inate healing power. Those had come in hand many times.

"Extensive training in lightsabre techniques, you say? Well, let us see just how extensive your training was," Zereth said before he closed his eyes and ignited his lightsabre. The brilliant white-blue sabre blade shot to life, it's light shooting into Ambrose's eyes like a spear and blinding the vampire, at least for a moment. Zereth didn't give him a moment to recover. He was instanty moving forward, sabre gripped in both hands, and slashing diagonaly from Ambrose's left shoulder to his right hip.

With speeds that were unmatched by any other, Ambrose pivoted his body adjacent to the blade what was arching in a devastating blow. With a flick of his wrist, the double edged handle ripped itself from the clip that hung loosely upon the Vamprie's belt, the cold metal felt all too familiar as it resided once again with his palm. The green blade protruded forth from the hilt with a loud hisss, the smell of burnt ozone once again filling his nostrils. Ambrose place the saber in a fashoin as to parry from the blow being delivered by his cohort Zareth.

A bright flash was seen as the two sabers collided with each other, followed by a loud screeching noise. The Sith thrust his palm towards the being that stood across from him, and concentrated upon the force, letting it flow throughout his body like it had done so many times before. Zareth was hurled from where he was standing, slamming into the opposite wall with a sickening thud. THe outlying wall that surrounded the impact point cracked and started to cave in. Ambrose brough his saber in front of him in a defensive stance, preparring for another attack from the Sith.

Such power, such unfathomable raw power. Ambrose had potential, that much was unmistakably clear. Zereth was thrown off his feet, unexpecting a force attack from his new apprentice. But he would not let that stop him. He pivoted his body, turning his legs towards the rapidly approaching wall. With the aid of the force he slowed his speed and allowed himself to connect with the wall, his legs bending down, his body coiling. With a push he launched himself from the wall and flew back towards Ambrose at high speed. His feet connected with the floor and he ran off towards Amborse, but not before briefly running up the side of one of the large pillars that kept up the ceiling, oushing off the pillar, and launching himself into the air and down upon Ambrose, Zereth's sabre cleaving downwards.

Ambrose had never taken his eyes off of the advancing sith. The Vampire bent forward at the hip, and pivoted his lightsaber so that it was laying across his back. The force flew through his body, effecting every aurafect of his being. Ambrose parried Zareth's and thought to himslef I have the advantage now. Ambrose kicked his leg backwards, hoping that he can now release his foe's weakness, but that was all lost with a single move. Zareth had moved his body so that the incoming blow would fly past. Anger flooded throughout his body, his ally that had helped him so many times before. Ambrose spun around to stand and face Zareth once again. Manuvering his lightsaber into a defensive position like he had been taught.

As the two opponents stared at each other, Ambrose knew that he would have to use everything within his power to live through this. Ambrose concentrated upon the force and found something of use that was not far away. A small rock about the size of a fist floated upwards from the floor. Ambrose concentrated as his blade hummed with lift ready for an attack from Zareth. The piece of shrapnel flew with blinding speed towards the back of his foe's head, The Vampire hoped for an impact to get ahead in this duel of the Sith.

Ambrose was better then Zereth predicted, but he never battled solely on his predictions. He faught for the moment, never expecting anything. The rules of engagement changed with the wind, so Zereth never concreted his tactics and instead changed them on the fly. It might be noticed that so far in this battle he had used the force as little as possible, leaning on his own physical skills and prowess instead. It was working, to a point. Yet the force was not something you could turn off, and that is why he felt the rock coming. It was moving fast, but Zereth was faster. He moved his head to the side and let the rock zip by, and head right for Ambrose. He didn't have to push the rock at all, it was already moving fast enough not to shed it's momentum just yet. Now it was up to Ambrose to stop or dodge his own attack. It was a perfect opportunity for Zereth to press his own attack, but he was not here to kill Ambrose, he was here to test his new apprentice's limits.

It was night still, the moonlight shinning through the small windows high near the vaulted ceiling. The two beings in the room cast shadows that danced upon the door as they were locked in battle with one another. Neither man letting their guard down or letting the other get a glimps of their fatigue.

'Man Zareth is good' was the first thing that had went through Ambrose's mind as he dodged the object hurling at his head. With precise movements, his teacher moved his head and the rock flew past, aimed directly at the Vampire. Ambrose let the force flow, concentrating on the hate and anger and emotion that welled in his being. With a giant leap upwards, the Sith was launched high into the air. Ambrose tucked his legs tightly to his chest as the momentum helped him complete a summersault in mid air. As he stretched his body outwards once more the Vampire hurled his green lightsaber towards the incredibly tall man.

Zareth raised his arms upwards as the blade of his lightsaber arched downwards. The two blades collided with one another and a loud hiss was heard throughout the room, followed by a bright flash. Ambrose landed upon his feet with ease, holding his outstretched arm towards his weapon. The force flowed freely throughout his being as it had done this entire time. The arcane lightsaber soared through the air, coming once again to rest in its owners hand. The smooth metal feeling more trustworthy than anything in this universe. Ambrose pivoted his body so that his lightsaber was in the back of his stance. With his outstretched hand, the Sith motioned for Zareth to advance with a gesture. A wicked smile etched its way across his face as the two stared at each other.
