View Full Version : Masquerade: Dark Side Soiree
Razielle Alastor
Jun 3rd, 2006, 01:58:33 PM
Take your fill, let the spectacle astound you..
Razielle sat still, her long hair pinned up painfully tight as lengths of tiny aromatic flowers were wound through the impressive arrangement. She was nearly ready for the ball tonight. Her dress was being held by her maid, Lira, who was ready to slip the gauzy white confection of a gown over her head. She really wasn't quite sure what her costume was, Virgin Bride, Wingless Angel, Cake Frosting or Lamb to the Slaughter? Either way, this one wouldn't be worn long. She hated white. But the modiste had assured her it would look so dramatic with her jet black hair and a tiny coronet.
Rising from the vanity, Razielle slipped back on her dressing gown and motioned for the other chamber maids to grab her dancing shoes, full length gloves, mask and fan. A lot to juggle, but she had only been doing it for nineteen years now.
"Lira, I wish to finish dressing with the Queen. Her Majesty said that if I got the jitters that I could come to her private chamber to dress with her.
"Yes, Highness."
With a small armada of servants trailing in her wake, she made her way to the Queen's side. On the way to the Her Majesty's chambers, Razielle thought back on all her arrangements. This was going to be a very entertaining night, no one knew quite what to expect as yet. She had bought the very best in entertainment. Musicians, acrobats, contortionists, trapeze girls, and to say nothing of the small fortune in buffet food. There was a smaller recreation done outside in the courtyard for the common folk as well.
Arriving, Razielle tossed a cheeky smile to Dak, who stood guard outside the entrance to the Queen's inner sanctum. Apparently he had been advised that she may stop by, because he let her pass with nothing more than a brisk nod.
Accepting the remaining, articles from a servant, Razielle grasped Lira by the arm and shooed her into the Queen's room, dismissing the rest of the staff. "I'll only require Lira's help tonight, you may go."
Entering, Razielle looked around for the Queen amidst the chaos of her own servants. They seemed about to riot over who would help the Queen, dress for the ball.
"Majesty...?"
Lilaena De'Ville
Jun 3rd, 2006, 05:33:58 PM
General Devious had suggested she attend the masquerade at their last meeting. He insisted that the princess had not suspected a thing, and after all, with masks in place Lilaena could wander freely in the palace without detection.
He spoke of the queen's advisor with disgust, and often, but he did not seem to realize what she knew about Salem Ave. He was Force Sensitive. And his power was not to be sneezed at. She did not mention it to her former student, because DeSang was far more likely to just kill the man outright rather than figure out what he was doing here.
From talking among the locals she'd found that Ave had appeared into Onderon's political scene from virtually no where. She couldn't find records of him dating back further than a few years before the young Queen had begun her reign. If he were somehow tied to the Force history of the planet, and the moon, it seemed unlikely.
Dalamar had helped her get in touch with the right seamstresses, just in time to have a ball gown sewn up. She couldn't ever remember wearing anything so... big... before. Skirts, yes, but nothing that compared to the majesty of her ballgown. A deep russet red with just enough elaborate embroidery in black and silver thread to give it a texture and shimmer that she'd never seen in a garment before. Underneath she was wearing a pair of tight black shorts and a black tanktop, should she have to wriggle out of the dress and make a run for it. Her black stockings stopped at the knees and a pair of heeled dancing slippers were tied onto her feet.
All in all, she felt like an imposter. With her dark hair teased out and spritzed with glitter and the smooth white mask fixed in place, only her green eyes remained to show the mirror who it was underneath all the frippery. The mask did not need to be held in place, there was some sort of attatchment system that didn't need glue or strings that held it snugly on her features. It covered her from forehead to just under her nose, and it's expression was one of cottequish amusement. A small smile graced the white ceramic, one that seemed to suggest, as well as deny.
Underneath, the girl that was helping her dress (also provided by DeSang, who was almost giddy with the thought of being able to dance with her underneath everyone's noses) had insisted on doing up her face. "Just in case," she'd insinuated, her mind believing firmly that the General would be taking this woman to bed later and would want a pretty face under the mask. Dark makeup rimmed her eyes, her lips were painted with a pale pink and just the right amount of shimmer touched her cheeks and forehead.
After it was done, she felt like she'd somehow been caught in a wind storm. Black elbow length gloves completed the outfit, a feather was placed, just so in her hair, and the maid pronounced her complete.
Lilaena was glad to leave her. As soon as she left her rooms she pulled the ridiculous feather out and dropped it on the ground. Gathering up her skirts, she set off for the ball.
Adraudia Basillie
Jun 3rd, 2006, 06:41:48 PM
"Majesty...?"
The voice of sanity broke through the endless chatter of servants running amuck inside her dressing room. Adraudia had been standing on top of the dressing platform in front of the full length mirror staring at her own reflection for almost fifteen minutes, while the gaggle of maids scurried to assemble the material for her intricate dress. She was going to be late for the ball, it was a given. Thankfully her hair was finished otherwise that would have tacked on another hour. Her hair was pinned up much like Razielle's but two wisps of brown locks gently graced her shoulders.
Standing on her tip toes, she towered over the mass, "Here, your Highness."
Right away she recognized Lira and now was a good a time as any to set things in motion. At least it would be bloody well quiet in here finally!
"Attention! Attention everyone please!" Everyone hushed quickly and paused from whatever it was they were doing. "I know many of you anticipated helping me get ready this eve for the ball. In your enthusiasm, we’ve become lost for time."
Many of the maids hadn't the opportunity to dress the Queen for such a richly affair. The competing interests did manage to swallow up precious time. Looks of disappointment spread like a plague. "Ah, ah!" Adraudia held up a finger to scold their sour faces. "All is not lost and your efforts can be redirected into making sure our guests are well situated before my arrival with the Princess is announced. Jaynie?"
One of the maids step out and curtsied. "Your Majesty?"
"You shall stay here with me. Between you and Lira's help, if her Highness would not mind, I should be able to get ready without being too tardy." Adraudia had not counted on Lira's help but Razielle was practically done. "Everyone is dismissed. Thank you."
When the last maid left and locked the door, Adraudia buried her face into her hand. "My word! I've never seen such absurdity since my coronation! Jaynie if you’d please?”
The maid quickly got to work and with expert care, pulled the dress off of the display stand. The dress was magnificent. It incorporated the Royal colors of house Basillie, golden yellow and white. White was the more prominent color but the elegant lace design woven into the dress was exquisite. The flora design at the fringe of her dress was patterned after indigenous specimens found on Onderon. The seamstress managed to add actual flower petals into the design!
Adraudia studied herself in the mirror, smoothing out some of the cloth while Jaynie placed the royal sash over her head and went to retrieve her ruff. “Is everything else in place for tonight?”
Dalamar DeSang
Jun 3rd, 2006, 07:26:08 PM
Dalamar straightened the collor on his uniform. His black leather boots gave off a bright shine in the room. The symbols of his command and authority where pined colorfully to his right chest pocket. A gold and white sash the colors of house Basillie went over the left shoulder and hung down to the waist both side's where pinned with a tiny silver sword. One of his Silver dragon katana's was wrapped and attached to his side. The peace bond was tied the hilt to the sword to keep it from being drawn.
His black and silver belt was attached firmly at his waist. His silver white hair was pulled back in a pony tail held in place by a gold ring inlaid with platinium which matched the cufflinks and side pins on his collar. He stepped out of the room and headed toward the ball. People were still arriving when Dal had entered the hall.
It was then that he saw a vision. She strode toward the ball in red and silver with a little black lace to top it off. She was beautiful from what he could see of her. His white wolf mask was firmly in place. He wondered if Lil' would recognize him. He masked his prescence from all in the room, let them know him as a stranger tonight.
"Mi'lady would you save a dance for me later?" He bowed but kept his head up to see her responce.
Salem Ave
Jun 4th, 2006, 05:32:26 AM
Amidst the sea of disguises, there was no mistaking Salem Ave. The Queen's Advisor had chosen a costume (http://www.musicalsonline.com/images/poto/reddeath.jpg) that was simple yet striking, bold and rather intimidating. He wore a red frock coat and britches, with patent leather riding boots. A scabbard hung at his waist, containing a fine, ornamental rapier. His face was half covered by a ghoulish, skeletal mask; his solid white eyes surrounded by circles of black make-up. Entering the ball alone, his arrival was met with a score of turning heads. Various courtiers came to his side quickly, applauding his choice of attire, remarking on what a dashing figure he cut. Salem said very little in reply, but rather pursed his lips into a smile and gracefully passed on.
Razielle Alastor
Jun 5th, 2006, 09:10:21 AM
"Stunning, Your Majesty. Your people will be all puffed out from pride at their lovely Queen." Razielle dropped her gaze and tried not to laugh at her own antics.
"To say nothing of Her Majesty's Oh-so-eligable pretty heiress ward.." She waited for the silence her comment would cause. As they all stared at her in shock, Razielle exhaled on her polished fingernails. She then buffed them on the satin of the white elbow length gloves she was to wear, as if nothing was amiss.
She looked up and burst into laughter."Kidding!" Her tone became, serious once more, even dropped for only her friend to hear what she was saying.. "All jokes aside, you look beautiful, Adraudia. Yes, everything is set. I'll wait for your signal before we go change. The girls know what to do. Don't worry about a thing."
Seemingly minutes later, Her Royal Majesty, Sovereign of Onderon, Queen Adraudia Basille was announced. The Masquerade was already under way, but the ballroom stilled in a hushed silence as the bemasked monarch entered their midst. Everyone dropped into graceful, shows of respect. Suddenly the ballroom and the courtyard beyond erupted into thunderous applause for their Queen.
After it seemed the applause would continue for some time, the Queen held up a hand for silence, all complied. Then her ward was also announced, somewhat more somberly. Her Highness, Princess Razielle Ilona Shadana, of the late Monarchy of Davora stepped out to the Queen's side. If this was the first time for someone to see her she would still remain mysterious. Her mask of soft white leather covered the top half of her face, revealing only the color of her eyes, violet. Her lips, darkened to a shade of wine, were turned up in a wry smile. Though the simple lines of her gown spoke of something angelic, there was a hint of something else behind the mask.
The pair descended the stairs and were immediately absorbed into the swarm of the party that had just officially started. The trapeze girls dressed as ancient mythological beauties began their feats of flight. The acrobats on raised platforms scattered to and fro began their juggling and contorting. The symphonic orchestra, began the first dance of the evening. If Iziz had learned anything about the Queen's ward tonight, it had learned that she could throw one hell of a party.

Lilaena curtseyed to the General, her face lowered even though he could not see it under the mask. "Certainly, General." For who else could it be with that silvery white hair? "Perhaps a waltz, later?" He bowed and walked off towards the doors that led to the courtyard. Even during a party he couldn't seem to forget that he was in charge of the Queen's saftey, and the courtyard full of regular people was sure to weigh heavily on his mind.
Or perhaps he just enjoyed the moonlight. Everyone stopped and applauded as the Queen and her ward entered the ballroom, and then the music started up in earnest and the dancing began.
She allowed herself to be pulled away by a courtier, her full red skirts swishing along behind her. The black and silver embroidery on the red silk reflected and absorbed the light in turn as her dance partner spun her onto the dance floor. He tried to dazzle her with wit, but she only half listened to him, her attention arrested by the Queen's advisor who was standing in the crowd along the side of the dance floor. With some amusement she realized that they were wearing the same color.
Jecht Tar
Jun 5th, 2006, 04:48:44 PM
Jecht shifted uneasily where he stood. The costume he wore was far too tight and restricting for his likes. He was a military man, for goodness sake. Dressing up was not something he did. He would have been more then happy to attend the Masquerade in his battered breastplate, but instead he was forced into getting into this... costume. What he wore was like the kind of uniform worn by visiting dignitaries. The undershirt was of unblemished white fabric while the pants were black with white stripes down the sides that tucked into his black boots. Over it all he wore a black tail coat that sported a white rose that hung out of the right breast pocket. To say the least it was incredibly uncomfortable.
Jecht let out a sigh as he turned around in his small room to face the even smaller mirror that hung from the wall. Carefully he wet his unruly shoulder length hair and slicked it back, applying hair mouse to keep it in place. Now for the last part. The mask was of perfect white and would cover his entire face. There was no detail on the mask except for the two holes for his eyes.
At least he had been given a weapon to carry. It was not his normal weaponry, a pair of curved swords, but a single long sword contained in a beautifully decorated sheath. The weapon was hung from his belt and tied down with a type of peace bond. The actual bond was weak and would break easily so that he could draw the weapon in the chance that someone tried to take the Queen's life.
There was a knock on his door, "Come in," Jecht said and the door was pushed open, "Get out there already," It was one of his commanding officers, High Guard Nuben.
Jecht grabbed his mask, fitted it over the front of his face, and looked in the mirror again. Another sigh pierced the air, this time muffled from behind the mask. Jecht turned away and headed out the door, past Nuben, and towards the noise of the Masquerade party.
He reached the giant chamber just as the Queen was being announced. He moved through the crowd in a slow, erratic manner that brought him close to the queen. He had been told what the queen would be wearing and now it was his job to keep close without actually appearing to be one of the Royal Guard.
When finally he was close enough to the Queen he turned away and pretended to be watching the trapeze artists.

Lira and Jaynie stepped forward and removed the opulent royal cloak from the Queen's shoulders. As with each ruler, the cloak was commissioned before the coronation with adhered to a simple code when designing it, leaving some room for individuality for the ruler. For Adraudia, her cloak was trimmed in soft kahmurra fur, outlining the deep golden velvet like cloth that had the family coat of arms sewn in.
The two maids carefully put up the cloak behind her Majesty throne and Adraudia took her seat, followed by Razielle who sat next to her. It was a point of contention that the Princess sit actually sit next to the Queen. As was proper, she should have sat two feet back but Adraudia's word was law. Such trivialities were of no concern to the Queen. This was the night that the Queen and her Ward were introduced together. She would not have the importance of that be diminished by chair placement.
Signaling an attendant, the receiving line began. A line that stretched as far as the ballroom were filled with those of the Royal Court, Dignitaries off world, and important military figures that were keeping Iziz safe from the Mandalorians. One by one they bowed in respect and took two steps up the stage where they thank the Queen for allowing them the honor to greet the Princess and in turn introduced themselves to Razielle by lifting their masks just enough to get a glimpse of their face for reference.
Dalamar DeSang
Jun 6th, 2006, 10:31:30 PM
Lil leaned forward and Dalamar saw a side of his former master that he had never seen before. Her pale bosom took his mind somewhere it had not been lately. He was so busy with affairs of the state that he forgot he was also a man. Well a vampyre. With a passion for life among other things. Was it his imagination or did he see Lil smile. She was cunning but no he didn't think she noticed his slight pause in speaking. He excused himself then watched with keen interest as she swayed away.
He looked over the balcony to check the ground floor and see if his guards where at there stations. He had triple the guard posted at every outlet. Only those invited and approved by himself and the Court couriers where allowed in. DeSang was determined to have a good time tonight. He had done everything that could be done. He just had to trust his careful planning.
He moved up closer towards where the Queen and her ward where. Once this royal audience was done the ball would start in earnest. All came to pay respects to there Queen and here quest. Dal was close at hand but not enough to intimidate the guests with his prescence. A beautiful blond lady in a bird mask came up and asked Dal for a dance when the music started. Her golden curls matched her yellow silk dress quite well. She had a red ruby necklace capped in gold hanging gently from her neck. She moved with a beautiful grace. Dalamar said he would gladly dance with her when the chance arrived.
She simpered a little curtsy then giggled a little. Dal grabbed a nearby wine and drank to the Queens health and waited for the festivities to swing into gear...
Nathanial K'cansce
Jun 7th, 2006, 04:42:14 PM
He was next in line to great the Queen and the Princess, an honor that only the privileged had. A lesser man would have been nervous, with sweat beginning to form at their brow. They would have found it hard to find their voice, let alone keep it from sounding shaky.
The invitation came as a surprise, a welcomed one. He hadn't been living on Onderon for more than three years, yet he already had made a modest living and rose to nobility. Though, it did help that he had a small fortune from back home - a small mining facility on his home world of Cayss. As it turned out, Onderon had an interest in two things that Cayss had to offer. And luckily, Cayss was one of only a handful of worlds with such offerings.
An exotic and rare predator, a distant relative to the panther, though quite larger boosted a wonderful fur coat that was highly sought after. Not only that, but Cayss held a distinctive metallic alloy that the warriors of Onderon used in the making of their armor and weapons. It was a very profitable business, and to make sure everything worked smoothly, a dignitary had been set to Onderon to make sure everything went smoothly between transactions.
That man stood there, next in line to greet the Queen and meet the Princess. He stood six foot three, dressed in a black tux with a blue vest and black tie. Around his neck was a decorative cape, an accessory to his costume, that hid his long hair which he had brushed back, tied together by his neck into a small pony tail that went down to the middle of his back. On his pale face he wore a mask, deep blue in color with black writings across the forehead and under the eyes from a language long dead. It covered his forehead, stretch ear to ear and came down just below his eyes and over the bridge of his nose. One each side, the mask curved downward, forming along his jaw line, curving up and ending at sharp points by the corner of his lips.
It was his turn. He took the two steps up, now standing before the Queen.
"My Majesty," he said, bowing a deep bow and taking her hand in his, kissing it ever so gently. He released her hand, turning to stand before the Princess.
"Your highness," he said, bowing. When he lifted himself up, he slowly removed his mask, allowing Razielle to see his pale features and dark brown eyes. "Nathanial K'Cansce, Ambassador of foreign trade to and from Cayss. It is a pleasure to finally meet you."
Returning the mask to his face, Nathan walked away,en route to the table where he was assigned to.
Salem Ave
Jun 9th, 2006, 07:44:31 AM
Salem watched from a distance as the royalty of Onderon were paraded before a long of guests. He was fortunate in this respect that although his power was near-level with that of the Queen, there was no real necessity for him to indulge in such formalities. While many found the Queens advisor charismatic, perhaps charming in a slightly unexpected fashion, they did not clamour to shake his hand – after all, he had met the majority of them before – and for this he was thankful. He continued his slow walk around the hall, keeping a watchful eye on those present. In particular his gaze was drawn to a young woman dressed in a colour to match his own. Even as her partner turned her in a graceful dance, her eyes always returned to the Queens Advisor ... How odd.
Razielle Alastor
Jun 19th, 2006, 09:50:42 AM
Her eyes briefly scanned the crush of masked faces, looking for someone in particular. It didn't matter much if she found him now. She had absolutely no intention of dancing with him garbed as she was. No, he could just wait until she really joined the masque. Her gaze did happen to settle upon the object of her more base affections. His sights seemed to be settled on something, or someone else, she followed the path to a scarlet clad female. The fact that her violet eyes narrowed slightly, was the only outward sign of her ire.
Very interesting.. It seemed they had dressed to match.
Her attention was drawn away once more to the line of people being presented before the Queen and herself. Finally! Someone interesting. A smile lit up her features beneath her mask.
Nathanial K'Cansce, Ambassador. She waited until the handsome young man was out hearing range. With a flutter of her fan, Razielle concealed the fact the she was speaking to the Queen in hushed tones.
"He was rather handsome, wasn't he? It's really a shame protocol dosen't permit us asking them to dance!"
Either way, she was quickly tiring of sitting on her pampered bottom. She wanted to dance about in her gown like a fairytale. All the better to add to the confusion when she returned as something else entirely.
Another casual fluter of her fan. "Do you suppose decorum permits us to get our own beverages?"
Lilaena De'Ville
Jun 19th, 2006, 05:30:44 PM
Lilaena curtseyed at the end of the dance, thankful that all the years of combat training that Master A'na Eldhil had put her through. Being limber and moving easily was a part of dancing as well, though the steps were very different. She almost laughed at the thought of throwing her partner to the ground, but restrained herself with a secretive grin.
She made her way towards the refreshments, allowing a gentleman in Beast rider colors to pour her a glass of punch as the next dance began. Not wishing to engage in much small talk, the Jedi began walking slowly around the perimeter of the room, pretending to admire the architechure.

The Queen covered her mouth her mouth daintily as she giggled, "Of course not your Highness, but we still have a few more guests to meet."
After the last person of the receiving line was introduced and greeted, the Queen and Princess could finally have a chance to mingle. Adraudia rose first, followed by Razielle, and the two walked down the stairs side by side with two guards following close by. The sea of guests parted and bowed with respect, wondering when the time would be right to gain attention of the Queen's ear.
Several guests had just parted the refreshment table, but those spots were quickly gobbled up as it was evident that was where their Queen was headed.
A Beast rider was about to pour two glasses of punch before Adraudia rose a hand to halt him and graciously refused his assistance, "Thank you, Tunus, but the Princess and I shall help ourselves."
Laurent Delinore
Jun 21st, 2006, 09:32:57 PM
We do not announce riff raff like you. It is a surprise you were even allowed to attend this event. Do not cause any trouble or I shall see that you are removed, along with that boy always with you.
"Well I never." Laurent purred, watching the little ankle biter walk away stiffly. That was the trouble with this royal bunch - too much powder and lace as far as he was concerned. But how could he not put in an appearance at such a popular event? It was a service indeed to all the ladies and he might even throw in a few jokes with the men. He already had one of those to entertain him, however. Men that was.
Speaking of which, as the case was usually, he had lost track of the little heart breaker when he had started sweet talking the vixen dressed in silver just across the way. His smirk broadened as he turned his head and glanced at her, even more so upon catching her looking back and the light blush creeping up her cheeks. Adorable bit of sparkle, she was. Mere finger food, he was sure.
He had always been a dessert man.
Pressing his foot deeper into the tall column that he leaned against, he lurched off into the room and prowled for a delectable morsel or his companion. Either would suit him just fine. Seeing as how he wanted to stay missing and Laurent was never one for long chases, the women would have to do. Not that he pressumed they could hook him. It was just the matter of finding the right one. Not to aim too high, but he heard the Queen was quite the looker. And how lucky for him to find her right next to his new pal, Razielle.
Slipping around a large crowd of people that seemed all about gossip and peek-a-boo, he came to stand beside the two ladies, directly to Razielle's right and smiled. Half of the expression, however, was hidden beneath the gleaming silver mask that drew down his face in perfect sculpt to the flesh beneath. When he considered them both properly attentive, he drew the military style beret from atop his head and slanted his body into a roguish bow. The leather of his attire gave a well polished grunt and the chain riddled whip at his side gave a mischievous glisten.
"Salutations, Highnesses. I trust you are enjoying.. the bash?" He murmured in what he supposed could be defined as polite prattle. He leaned back up from his bow and his eyes flashed over them both, taking in the outfits they had adorned, revealing in turn the different shades belonging to each of his wolf-like eyes.
Jecht Tar
Jun 21st, 2006, 09:58:22 PM
And as the Queen and the Princess moved, so did Jecht. He broke away from the conversation he had been attempting to establish with a balding gentleman when he saw the Queen begin to move. He excused himself and started off through the press of bodies in the direction of the refreshements table. He walked slowly and stopped many times to look at something that he pretended had just caught his eye; a statue, a preformer, the architechure, one of the guests, anything and everything, it all worked towards his guise.
Eventually he reached the back of the crowd that had congregated around the queen and the princess. Jecht managed to squeeze himself into the throng and reach a point about half way in. From here he could easily reach the royalty and not look too suspision at the same time. He ended up starting a conversation with the woman beside him, his voice muffled behind his mask. Even though he carried on the conversation quite well, his eyes were always looking to the side at the Queen and the Princess.
Dalamar DeSang
Jun 21st, 2006, 10:19:16 PM
Dalamar heard a small commotion coming from the balcony. He looked down to the floor lever where he had posted his men. They where missing why weren't they at there post? Dalalmar signalled Ject to let him know the situation. Then moving again towards the balcony he made sure the area was clear.
He had to know what was going on. What if it was Legion? He leaped over the balcony and landed with a bonecrunching impact. His sword that was decorated cremoniously was cut and drawn. He pulled the force in around him feeling for anything out of the ordinary. There was something amiss but he could not tell exactly what it was. The crowd above resonated in his mind.
He found one of the guards almost immediately he was lying in a small pool of blood. "Hmm so much for me having a good time tonight." He saw more bootprints as they lead away drenched in the blood of there victim. There was 3 or 4 of them and they where on the move.

He'd found a nice comfy and dark little corner to sit in. He liked it just fine, he did. He really shouldn't feel so off about what he was wearing, after all Laurent had picked it out - and he had agreed to it.
Still... being dressed in a maid's uniform and mask was a touch disconcerting for him, just a TOUCH however - and he knew after he adjusted to the larger crowd he'd be just fine to mingle and laugh. Have a wonderful time, just like Laurent would want him to. Just like Laurent himself was most likely having. Perhaps with some pretty young trinket he thought partially aloud, muttering to himself.
Ah well, such was the life - X knew this. Heck, he'd enjoyed helping Laurent with a few such bobbles. He giggled a bit, and stretched - well it was as good a time as any to get over his stage fright. Wandering away from the corner he spotted Laurent and fought the urge to run to him, he was as it seemed, occupied with much more influention people. No... for the moment it would suit him to merely stand in the background and watch, maybe make some polite conversation with all the stuffy rich people.
He had to admit... the whole affair had a certain air of familiarity to it, as if this wasn't his first such function. Ah well, passing glimpses of a past life not worth mentioning.
Razielle Alastor

Two delicately stemmed, fizzing goblets of her Majesty's very best champange were handed over to the royal females. They made their way among the guests to a section of the large array of food spread out for sampling. Taking a tiny pick between her gloved fingertips, Razielle deftly stabbed a random piece of fruit from an arrangement. Without pause she handed the morsel over to the Queen, then once again repeated the gesture to select a piece for herself. The fruit brought out the sweetness in the sparkling wine. The wine was refreshing to Razielle, bolstering to the Queen, who still seemed a bit timid about what they had planned.
"Salutations, Highnesses. I trust you are enjoying.. the bash?"
She knew that voice. She just couldn't believe that he had the effrontery to approach her while she was with the Queen. She really should give him a direct cut. It was what he deserved for breaking her wish to avoid speaking publically at this point. She didn't want it known that she had left the palace walls. She'd have to think quickly.
"Immensley, Lord Delinore. I hope that you and your.. staff shall continue to do the same."
She lifted her goblet in a polite gesture and smiled. Her eyes communicated that he was on dangerous ground and that he had better behave. Razielle turned to the Queen and explained in a hushed voice. "Lord Delinore was instrumental in accquiring our costumes, Your Majesty."
Laurent seemed quite taken with Adraudia. Now THAT was the most unlikely pairing she could possibly think of.
Taking a covert glance around, Razielle kept a stealthy eye on the object of her devotion. Attempting to mingle, she wondered where the Ambassador had run off..
Adraudia Basillie
Jun 23rd, 2006, 10:19:05 PM
The Queen could not have mistaken the ire in Razielle's voice. She hid it remarkably well but Adraudia could easily sense otherwise. It was rather uncharacteristic of the Princess. This Laurent fellow must have done something quite foul but Razielle seemed to be elated on the outcome of their costumes. Strange.
"A pleasure to meet you Lord Delinore." She remarked politely. A lesser woman would have blushed profusely under his edacious eyes. Adraudia was above such inanity. "We're pleased that you could join us this eve."
Adraudia took Razielle by the shoulder gently, "But you must excuse us. The Princess is a bit tired from the reception line. A moments break and we shall return."
With a gracious smile, the royal pair turned around. Adraudia sampled the delicious champagne, holding the flute up in greeting to one of her Advisors as they crossed the hallway.
A flutter of the lavished feathered fan, the Queen's voice fell to a whisper, "I sensed a change was needed and presumed this would be a good a time as any to ... switch?"

She was actually lost in thought, studying the carvings high up where the wall met ceiling. The friezes were too high up to see in great detail, but they were very old. If there were a way to get up there... An historical piece of art, if she was not mistaken. What she was looking for could be recorded right up there!
With her face tilted up, Lilaena stepped to the side to move out of the way of an elderly couple trying to get to the dance floor. Her movement bumped her into someone else, and she suddenly tottered on her heels, loosing her balance. A hand grabbed her upper arm, steadying her, and she looked up into the disconcertingly white eyes of Salem Ave.

"Surprise!!!" All the guards had gathered together to give the General a little party. Even the guard that was lying in his own blood was standing there smiling. He didn't smile for long when he saw where Dal was holding his blade having thought someone was sneaking up on him. But when his commander moved it back again his mood returned.
Dalamar removed his mask and he was all smiles. "Dak what gave you this idea?" Dak smiled "Well sir, you have been working real hard to protect the Queen. Me and the guards thought we would show our apprecation for what your doing for Onderon and the Queen of course."
"Thank you really, it means a lot." Dak and all the guards where all smiles. Dal looked at them suspiciously "What."
"Sir, your not getting away that easily. Bring out the wine boys."

Jun 27th, 2006, 11:22:32 PM
By an odd chance Jecht had just moved his eyes to look at Dalamar and recieved the signal. Jecht made no counter-sign and instead watched the direction that the General disapeared into. Jecht turned and looked about the ballroom, taking every guard into account and guessing the strength of the current defenses. To say the least they were weaker then he would have liked.
Slowly he raised his hand and tapped the side of his mask's nose. The signal was seen by the security guard watching Jecht and a message was sent out to all security guards. The message was simple and merely told them that there was a possible situation and all guards should remain on alert. Even the guards escorting the Queen and the Princess got the message and pulled in closer to the royals, their hands falling near their weapons but not landing on them directly. A certain atmosphere of fear and uncertainty filled the air. The guards knew something could happen but had no idea what. Their stiffness was seen by the guests and they too became uncertain of what was happening.
Jecht made his way out of the circle around the royalty at a slow and precise pase that brought him to clear floorspace and towards the doorway closest to the direction the General had disapeared into. His arm rested on the hilt of his sword in a loose fashion that looked casual enough not to stir up trouble. As he walked a small ball like object was pulled from his pocket and inserted into his ear. A microphone had been attached to the inside the mask and the earpiece would allow him to listen in on the comm channel that the rest of the security force was on, "This is Jecht Tar, what is the situation General?" He hoped to god that the general had his own earpiece and microphone set up, otherwise he would have to defend the ballroom with no intel.
Nathanial K'cansce
Jun 27th, 2006, 11:51:45 PM
Nathan had made it to the drink bar after his introductions to the Queen and Princess, ordering himself a fine vintage Alderaan Ale. It was his drink of choice, his weakness. So long as he did not have more than two glasses of the stuff in one sitting. The bartender poured the drink into a fine glass, handing it over to the Ambassador.
"Thank you," Nate said, bowing his masked face. He took a sip of the drink and walked across the lavish ballroom, nodding his head to various people he thought he recognized. Though he couldn't be too sure of whom anyone was here, what with the costumes and all.
After a few sips of his ale, Nathan had found himself in the company of a small group, talking about their latest business ventures and current political and galactic news. Tripe, but Nate made small talk as best he could, giving his insights and opinions here and then when asked.
As he stood there, he glanced about, noting the subtle change in the air. Tension was rising from someone, or a group of someones, he could feel. Those who looked like they could be guards were more alert, standing stiffer than before when he had first arrived.
Nathan excused himself from this social group, finishing off his ale. He set the fine glass down back at the drink bar, waving off a second until later. The current song that had been playing ended, and another one began, the two almost melding together to form one harmonious melody.
"Ah!"
It was a quiet whisper, but when he saw her he knew what he had to do. Knowing his every movement was being watched from the shadows, he kept his hands visible at his sides as he walked up to the royal entourage. He came to a stop before Razielle, offer her a warm smile and a bow as he held out his arm.
"My lady, would you be so gracious as to grant me one dance with you?"

After offering a small apologetic shrug towards Laurent, Razielle turned on a heel and followed her Queen. She knew Laurent would forgive her. He likely knew exactly where she was going and more importantly, who to look for when she returned. Besides, it would give him the much needed time to coax Xanatos out from hiding.
"My thanks, Majesty. It would seem my..." she clearly struggled for the right words..
".. tailor, though quite competant and in possesion of a flare for fashion, is a bit forward. Even in the presence of such a magnanimous monarch it would appear.." They shared a small giggle over that.
They had barely moved when they were once again halted. This time by the very person Razielle had found so intriguing, Ambassador K'cansce. At present he was quite galantly asking for a dance. Far be it from her to deny him. She turned pleading eyes on her Queen and gave her a last whisper.
"Go on! By the time you are ready, it will be my turn. They can only work on one of us at a time anyways." She gave her friend a wink, then turned to the Ambassador.
"I would be honored, Lord K'cansce.." She slipped her gloved fingertips into his with a smile and let him lead her away.

She looked at him, and then pointed towards the high ceilings. "I was just wondering what the carvings depicted."

“The murals depict Iziz throughout history, showing important events that have shaped our city... the Beast Wars and the reign of Freedon Nadd... the Mandalorian invasion and the Civil War between Queen Talia and General Vaklu.” Salem too cast his eyes upwards. His tone had a somewhat ominous edge. “For all the city may be peaceful and prosperous now, we have quite a turbulent history. Those carvings serve as a reminder of what once happened... and could happen again, should we become careless.”

The Princess did have a point. The time it would take Adraudia to get dress was substantial, but to also make sure that Jaynie was fitted appropriately to look like her would take even longer.
It was more of the same as the Queen walked the length of the ballroom towards the edit. At times she stopped for some pleasantries with her guests, which was welcomed. Not only would it be rude of her Majesty to ignore her guests, but also it provided time for the Queen absorb the fact that she was finally going through with the plan hatched by the Princess.
Finally freedom was at hand as Adraudia slipped through the large double doors of the ballroom that were opened by her servants. She turned towards one of the guards to avoid any questions and explained the reason for her departure. "The Princess and I are taking a short break after the lengthy introductions. She shall be following me soon after her dance with Lord K'cansce. We'll be inside my changing room and shall inform you when we're to arrive at the ball once more."
The guard bowed graciously, "Yes, your Majesty. I shall inform the others of your location and orders."
Adraudia smiled with content and led the two maids back into her suite. She fidgeted with her sash and looked befuddled. Lira noticed this discontent and smiled towards the Queen. “Your Majesty. As dubious as a plot this is with the Princess, I think it grand that you are going to have fun. You deserve it, my Queen.”
Jaynie snapped the wrinkles out of the black shirt to Adraudia’s outfit and whole-heartedly agreed, “Oh, yes your Majesty. You’ve done so much for us and always are Royalty. Never gettin’ a moments rest. An’ it’s only for a short time. Lira an’ I got you two down to a tee. You needn’t worry.”
“I suppose you are right,” she conceded. “And the Princess did say I could end the charade at any time.”
Lira stepped up behind Adraudia and removed her sash, then hugged her shoulders in encouragement, “You can do this. Just relax and tone down the fancy. Add a little spice if you want.”
Adraudia gawked at Razielle’s maid as if she had gone mad, “Lira!” Jaynie laughed.
“Begging your pardon Majesty, but is it such a bad idea?” She said teasingly and continued to remove the opulent gown. “You haven’t found anyone yet. Being so busy with affairs of state. Maybe now you will.”
”And without the other party realizing it!” The two maids giggled like schoolgirls.
“I swear.” The sound of her voice was muffled as the gown was lifted up over her head. “You two have been around Razielle far too much!"

"Ject tell security to stand down just some of the guards having some fun. But, tell the one's still guarding the Queen to still be alert."
Devious had not had much comradery in his long life and he welcomed it. The royal guard where a bunch of well trained men that did there job well. They took to guarding the Queen as a personal honor. They all loved her so much. A couple of the oldsters even saw her grow up. They where all very protective over her like a bunch of older uncles and of course some younger cousins.
Jeath came over a clapped DeSang on the shoulder. "General have some blood wine, gad awful stuff. But I know you like it." Dalamar thanked the man and took the gold carved goblet. "Man I remember when the Mandolorian tried to take the wall. Do you remember sir. There leader at the time Gregor was rallying the charge. He had that suped up red and black armor and was screaming the whole time. "Down with the royal family. Down with the Royal Family."
Kraken and a few of the other youngsters straddled up. "What happened then Jeath?" "What happened?" Jeath said, with a smile. Well the General drove one of his fancy swords down his fancy eye piece. He shut up real quick then."
"Is that true General did you do that?" "Hmnn Dalamar said,"well it was actually Gregor's own sword that I used. But, don't worry I did plenty of carving with my own that day."
Suddenly there was some music and a big cake was pushed in...

"Jecht tell security to stand down just some of the guards having some fun. But, tell the one's still guarding the Queen to still be alert."
Jecht paused in his movement and pressed a finger against his ear, inserting his finger into his ear and pressing it against the listening device in his ear, "Affirmative," Jecht communicated back before changing channels and telling the other security to ease up, explaining the situation in brief detail and then telling the guards protecting the Queen to remain on alert, as they should be.
Oh what joy. A false alarm not only nearly compromized Jecht's cover but also caused him to loose his position near the Queen and the Princess. He could not help but grumple as he turned around and headed back towards the refreshment table, but the Queen was not there anymore. His head moved back and fro as he searched the area for the Queen. In the end he only located the Queen's personal guard positioned outside one of the doors that exited the ballroom.
Jecht turned away and joined into the festivities again, but his eyes darted back to the door and the guards every minute or so. He wondered what the royalty was doing, but he found it best not to think too much about it. It distracted him from the present.

"I've always thought that those who did not learn from their history... would be destined to repeat it." Lilaena looked downward, affecting modesty as Salem Ave seemed to be studying her closely.
"Freedon Nadd... he was a king of Onderon in the ancient past, was he not? Oh!" 'Aylee' turned her head back towards the dance floor. "The waltz!" She hesitated, then turned to her new companion. "I would love a dance, if you would be so kind..."

“Certainly.” Offering a gentile arm, Salem lead the way as the party guests flocked in their pairs to the center of the room. The waltz was a light-hearted dance, one that even the most uncoordinated of would-be dancers could perform. Ave took to it easily, having had to go through the motions many times before at similar royal functions. His partner, evidently, seemed to have similar experience, moving with grace and poise – their steps complimenting one another instantly, flowing with ease. “You are quite the dancer, Miss Aylee.”

Taking her hand, Nathan led Raz towards the center of the ball room passing by the gathering couples for the Waltz. As they did so, they passed by Salem and Lil. Nate wasn't sure exactly who Salem was behind the mask and red costume, but gave him a curtious nod nonetheless. Once they made it to a clear enough spot, Nate lifted her hand in his, bowing his head once more. The music started and the two graciously began their waltz.
"This is a big night for you, isn't it, your Highness?"
Razielle Alastor
Jul 10th, 2006, 07:55:57 AM
She knew she didn't have much time. The Queen would be expecting her and so while she could, she endeavored to enjoy her time with the Ambassador. She caught a glimpse of the picture they made, as they swirled past a gilded mirror. To all outward appearances, she was the very image of a noble peahead. Exactly as she liked it.
Lord K'cansce, however, either didn't mind or didn't share the general opinion that her head was as substantial as the sparkling punch. She enjoyed her easy banter with him. "It is, yes. Her Majesty is too kind. I assured her that I simply wanted to meet everyone. An affair such as this was not necessary, but who am I to argue with such wisdom?"
She laughed, as she was spun in a circle, the silvery white layers of her dress swishing around her legs. Deciding immediately that she liked the Ambassador, Razielle extended him an invitation to dine with herself and the Queen, at a later date, to better acquaint themselves. As the dance came to an end, she sank into a curtsey and thanked Lord K'cansce for relieving her boredum, assuring him that she would see him again soon.
Suddenly, she was gone. Escaping the same way that the Queen had just recently gone and closing the door behind her with a grin.
Raziellle found the Queen and Jaynie nearly completely transformed. "Oh my.. I knew it would look good, but I had no idea.."
The Queen, or rather the Fearsome Captain, looked less fearless and more provocative than anything. From the slashed ball gown skirt, revealing stripped black and white stockings, to the scarlet garters tied at her thighs. The bodice revealed that the Queen was, in fact, not a child anymore. She also had a dress sword, dangling at her hip. Razielle would wager the court would expire from shock to see her like this, knowing it was her..
Lira quickly helped with her own transformation from pristine cake frosting, to leather clad Demoness. From her toes up, she was quite a sight. Knee high shiny black boots, thighs covered in black fishnet, a sorry excuse for a skirt that didn't cover much, and was parted down the middle.. The black corset was laced painfully tight. Her black leather mask was topped with horns that sprouted from beneath her own dark locks. The only color at all in her new duds, was the red tinsel that sparkled, woven through her hair.
The servant girls were given a moment to admire their own astonishing change into royalty, then they parted ways. The "Queen and her ward" wished for time alone to recover from the heat of the crowd and privacy to speak. They were seated at and the ball resumed. The "newcommers to the ball" emerged from a vacant corridor on the other side of the ball room and were admitted without any trouble.
"Ready, Cap'n..?"
Adraudia Basillie
Jul 10th, 2006, 04:10:20 PM
Adraudia gulped and then glanced around the room as if looking at her guests for the very first time. She kept trying to halt her hand from fidgeting with her dress. Razielle thwaped her hand and Adraudia balled her hand into a fist, trying to calm her nerves. She hadn't felt so afraid since her father's death, but this situation was all together different. If anyone found out who she was and what she was doing ... the scandal alone wouldn't destroy her. No, the General would just simply kill her!
With breathless anticipation, the Queen checked her mask one last time. It was made in similar style as the Princess' except white leather was used instead of black with red and black sequences sewn in around the edges and eyes. To relieve her fears of the mask coming undone, it was attached to the black pirate hat that sat atop her head. Her neck was far barer then usually too. She was hoping to have her hair cover up some of that bare skin, but Lira was ordered to tie the Queen's hair back out of necessity! To show more skin of course but Lira threw in the adage of helping the guests not recognize her. She had no choice but to concede.
Standing here any longer would only cause Adraudia to turn around and not go in. Razielle had worked hard in making this night special and to get cold feet now when she was merely several meters from having a good time would be such a disappointment to the Princess and to herself. She didn’t want to remember this night as a what if…
“Yes, Luci.” She curled her arm around Razielle’s, mainly for support, and they walked in together, ready for whatever mischief awaiting them tonight.
Dalamar DeSang
Jul 13th, 2006, 09:48:29 PM
A beautiful lady popped out of the cake which was no suprise to the General. But the fact that her hair was blood red and her skin a beautiful blue was. She was quite seductive and the guards had spared no expense to have her brought here.
Her eye's where for the General of course. Him being the reason for this little get together. DE-Sang,DE-Sang,De-Sang the guards chanted. Devious humored them as she wrapped a red velvet scarf around his neck. The older guards laughed and slapped each other on the back as she kissed him on each cheek and then procedded to sit on his lap. He was served cake and more blood wine and they all began to eat. The female did not move thru the whole course. Her name was Tiki. Her light silk garment rustled softly as she laughed.
Shortly after they brought the General some gifts. Tiki of course helped open them. One of the more interesting gifts was a chess board with the Queen and the General and other heads of the Royal family as the piece's. Even showing the former King out of respect to him and his rule. The Opposing side was filled with Mandolorians and Gregor there now deceased leader. The party started to wind down. Dalamar thanked everyone and even Tiki and started to make his way back to the party upstairs. He had one of the guards take his gifts to his quarters. Dalamar came in from the opposite way as a female captain and her partner blocked his way. "Excuse me captain, If I may pass." for some reason the Captain went rigid. Dal gave her a questioning look "Captain?"
Xanatos Etanial
Jul 19th, 2006, 01:56:33 AM
he tapped his foot leaning against a wall face first, everyone else was so busy and content. No one was paying any attention to him at all, he hated that. He hated feeling so alone.
"My dear girl... a voice from behind him started abruptly, causing him to spin. girl? he couldn't help but giggle slightly at that, remember a conversation he and Laurent had, had before coming. "But, Laurent! Someone's going to mistake me for a girl!" "So? Just play along - you'll be the prettiest girl there."
He... er... she - heh - cocked her head slightly to his voice, "Yes, my good sir?"
"I simply wanted to comment on how lovely you look in that dress, how daring of you to wear something so... unique." she smiled at that and cortsied in response. "Thank you kind sir."
The small scene had gathered a group of onlooking girls, all the escorts of very important men no doubt. "Oh so modest! It really is flattering on you!" "Wonder if it comes in my size!" "Bet your boyfriend can't keep his mits off of you!" The compliments flowed freely from them and caused X to blush gently. It felt most wonderful to have so many nice things said about him - er... her.
Another figure came over a moment or so later - that of his own beloved, his dear, dear Laurent. Turning to smile at him he felt the air push past his head as Laurent put his hand just inches from X's head, the look in his eyes - that cocky, lecherous smile. X couldn't help but return the gaze. Laurent moved himself ever closer giving X no quarter - no room to move or turn. His. He knew it, they both did. He found himself within inches of Laurent, his breath warm against the skin on his neck.
Laurent's smooth, purring voice rolled out a moment later. "You don't know how right you are lady..." X stifled his grin at the words, and the subtle vibrations that travelled along his skin as he said it. So wonderful.
"Perhaps you should give the lady some room to breath, SIR." The man from before spoke up again, breaking the lovely embrace as he grabbed Laurent's arm to drive his point home. X let out a long agitated sigh, and gave the man a sad smile. Poor bastard, he has no idea what he's done to himself.
Laurent Delinore
Jul 19th, 2006, 03:07:55 AM
Laurent considered himself a very pleasant fellow, easy to get along with and patient with those who didn't sport a lot of intelligence. But, he could only take so much. Here he was, close to his lover and the fool behind him had decided that moment to become valiant. Little did he know, and he was certain of this, that dear Xanatos didn't want to be saved from his advances. Not in the least. He was about to turn around and curtly set the annoying pest back in his place when he felt a grip upon his arm. His eyes flickered in surprise and he lowered his head, causing it to rest upon X's shoulder for a moment.
Then, he turned, an awkward twist, but he had to keep his head down. Had to contain that which was within. There was a low growl, only audible to the man and his seemingly amused X. Despite the pivot seemingly slow to himself, it wretched the man forward with its speed and he was forced to relinquish his grip on Laurent's arm. Another growl, only a bit louder. Then, a smile. He canted his head back, his different colored eyes locking onto the limb slipping back down to the man's side. He caught it, in a vice grip that caused the chap to wince. He opened his mouth to protest, but it fell silent upon catching a glimpse of the murder in his eyes.
"It isn't any of your affair." He murmured, his lips barely moving. A threat.
The man's eyes widened and he nodded his head, as if the beast in Laurent's gaze had leapt forward, taken ahold of his head, and was jerkily wrenching it in the appropriate direction.
"Of course, sir. Forgive me." He managed to fumble out. Laurent released his arm, nodded, and then turned from the man, back to X, as he stumbled away.
"Darling.." He purred, his head lolling to a sloven angle as he flashed his new lady friends a scandalous smile, baring his sharpened canines and a pink tongue as it flashed over them.
"Ladies...."

Lilaena smiled, her lips curving upwards though her eyes did not sparkle under the mask. "Why thank you. You are rather good yourself."
She was making no attempt to hide the fact that she spoke Basic with only the barest hint of the local accent. 'Aylee' was enjoying the dance, and looking forward to the verbal sparring that was sure to come. "Though I expect as the Queen's highest advisor, you attend many of these functions, Mr. Ave."

“Yes. It's one of the few perks of my job, attending balls and dancing with masked beauties,” Salem countered, smiling a thin-lipped smile. “Here I thought that my disguise had everyone fooled.” Vaguely, Salem was aware that the Queen and Princess had returned from a brief absence – yet their own costumes had changed. He frowned slightly, distracted, as his gaze found the newly arrived pair.
“And what is it that you do, Miss Aylee?”

"A little of everything," she smiled, tracing his eyeline to where she could just make out Dalamar's white hair through the crowd. Lilaena frowned underneath her mask. "Though right now I'm quite enjoying our dance."
Dancing with a man who held a position of power on Onderon, whom she knew was a Force user... it was pretty exciting. Though he was not a native, and therefore might know nothing about Freedon Nadd or the whereabouts of his tomb.
It wasn't something she thought it would be prudent to simply bring up on the dance floor.
Razielle Alastor
Jul 22nd, 2006, 09:42:37 AM
"Sorry, my friend is a a bit hard of hearing. Speak a bit more slowly next time. Come along, Cap'n!" Razielle fairly dragged the Queen away from General DeSang. That had been too close!
Razielle had already asked Laurent and Xanatos to keep an eye on the Captain. Spotting them, she kept her arm snuggly locked around the Queen's waist and led her in their general direction. It didn't take long for a group of young men to decide that the Captain had rather nice legs. They started pestering her for a dance, could they get her a drink, would she marry them?
Smiling, Razielle left her friend's side knowing she could handle them just fine, hers was a voice of authority even when she wasn't wearing her tell tale yellow sash.
Gazing across the dance floor, she was nothing short of irritable at the sight of Salem, still dancing with the same female. She'd danced, changed and come back. Fine.
The lady in black, as the young men surrounding the Queen had dubbed her, began to look for a dance partner. She needed someone interesting, someone just a tad unacceptable, and someone that would be a danger if they had any clue what she was up to. She needed...
Her eyes locked on him with a grin as she began walking in a path straight for him. She needed Victer Dejan. Coming up behind him, she whispered in his ear.
"Hullo doll, care to ask a lady to dance?"
Victer Dejan
Jul 22nd, 2006, 11:00:45 AM
It wasn’t the pageantry that impressed Victer. Cloth and design was all well and good, but it didn’t display any mastery beyond that of creativity. What impressed Victer was the logistics beyond the whole thing. Over the past hour, his opinion of Razielle had risen steadily. No mean feat for a man who normally ran a collection of motley freighter captains and smugglers around, using tidbits of information to create a larger picture of the galaxy, and sell information on the side. Victer had his hands in many pies, and a few toes, too. While he was sure that Razielle had not personally overseen every tiny detail, it did not diminish the accomplishment at all. In fact, it meant she had found competent enough personnel to not oversee every tiny detail.
He wore the long modified remnants of an Imperial dress jacket and white slacks. His mask had been fashioned by one of the local shops. It was a simple, clean design. Unlike many of the other male attendants, Victer wore no visible weapon. A slim blaster was strapped to his back, under the jacket, out of habit.
Victer had spent the last hour assembling the court gossip into a coherent picture, and dancing with some of the young women present, who were more than happy to fill his ear with gossip of the Queen and her court. There were rumors of the General Dalamar conversing with an unknown dark lady. Rumors of Salem Ave, who was somewhat mysterious, and rumors of Nathanial K'cansce, who made quite a bit of money in a respectable fashion as one of Onderon’s biggest importers. Of course, rumors of Princess Razielle and the Queen Audradia.
“A dance or my soul, or a dance and my soul." Victer smiled, and took the leather clad beauty’s hands. She still moved the same, though. Razielle was scandalously close.
“You never mentioned that you were a Princess, Miss Raz.” He whispered to her.
Adraudia Basillie

The three men were vying for her attentions for they wanted to be the first to dance with her! They came at her with all sorts of compliments, food and drinks to entice her for a spin or two. It was all rather bizarre to Adraudia since she was used to such formality and politeness. These men were bold! Never before had she heard so bluntness in regards to her person. Directly to her face no less! Thankfully the mask hid her blushing cheeks because luscious and curves were a bit too much.
"I think someone has 'ad too much ta drink" She whapped the lewd man on the nose with her decorative sword hilt and offered her hand to the more respectful of the three, who gladly took it with a conquering smile.
As they danced, Adraudia took note of Laurent and smiled in his direction as her partner spun her around, kicking up the slashed dress and exposing more leg, much to the delight of the other two fellows watching.
"My lady," his said, his voice deep and alluring, "I ...can't quite seem to place you, though I am trying. Perhaps you can give me a guess."
Adraudia giggled as he smiled and pulled her closer. "Nae."
She pushed him away so they were arms length once more. "Tha’ would ruin th’ point o’th Ball wouldn't ye say?"
Oh this was too much fun! But her mood went a tad sour when she noticed Salem. He was preoccupied with a woman but Adraudia had a feeling that her antics had not gone unnoticed.

“Only quite?” The same smile lingered on Salem's lips, though his eyes did not echo the expression. He was once again distracted by Razielle, pressed close against the body of a man he did not recognize. He wondered what she was up to, what – or who - both of them had planned to do for their evenings entertainment. Glancing back down to Aylee, he saw that she too seemed preoccupied and asked: “Something on your mind?”

She tossed her horned head towards the platform where Lira and Jaynie sat masquerading as the Queen and Princess. They seemed to be enjoying themselves, both giggling over glasses of sparkling champange.
She let Victer lead her out to the dance floor and gave a little wiggle. "You like my real costume..?"

The band struck up a punchy number that encouraged closer, more intense dancing. Victer ran his hands down her sides to her swaying hips.
“I think this one shows you off better.” Besides, it also meant she could do as she pleased, and that she was bending the rules. He gave her a roguish smile, and his dance steps took on more swagger. He leaned her back. Her hair dusted the floor, and then she was back on her feet, her head against his chest while they strutted across the dance floor in unison, one pair of hands forward like a lance.
“You dance well on your feet.” He said after they finished another dip.

The music changed, and Salem led her off the dance floor as he asked his most recent question. She was grateful - unsure of the specific steps to the faster dance. "I was only thinking about history."
She smiled up at his death mask, "Thank you for the dance, but I am a bit thirsty now. Perhaps, if you don't mind..?" Lilaena looked over at the crowded tables laden with drinks.

“Not at all.” Evidently Aylee was not the only one to have worked out who the man in red was. The crowds around the drinks tables parted easily at his approach, as familiar faces smiled from beneath their masks at the Queens adviser. He scooped up a pair of glasses of something sparkling, one of the many vintages that Razielle had acquired especially for the Ball.
He returned to his partner, for the time being, without so much as a glance towards his tearway apprentice. The crowd closed up, again, behind him. “Here you are... I'm glad you suggested a drink, actually. I'm not sure I have the rhythm to keep pace with this dance.”

She laughed, a genuine one for once. "Yes, I had the same thought." Lilaena accepted the glass, some sort of champange, and sipped. It wasn't that she was thirsty, only that she had needed an excuse to stay near Salem Ave. Or to keep him near her.
"Tell me, do your duties keep you busy all the time?" Her green eyes looked at him through the porcelain mask. She couldn't think of what her next move should be. Expose him as a Force user? Titter mindlessly until he tore himself away from sheer boredom?
Perhaps... but her mastery of the Force did not lend itself towards mind reading. She could just as easily erase his mind completely as read a spare thought. Reading emotions was easy, however, and she could tell he had been distracted, but now wasn't. Having his full attention was not quite what she wanted. It would take little effort to expose her as an interloper.

“Oh, yes,” he lied. “I'm afraid for every night I get to spend drinking wine and dancing, there are another hundred spent laboring into the early hours of the morning.” In spite of this somewhat grim description of his occupation, Salem remained positive. “I enjoy it, though. I like to keep busy.”
As he spoke, he felt the woman before him scrutinizing him. She seemed to be watching his movements carefully and... he could have sworn that he felt her trying to probe into his mind. Of course, he was far too skilled in such disciplines himself to allow his mental barriers to be broken. However, he had to wonder what it was that she wished to learn from him.
The concern slipped away for a moment, as he saw Razielle being swept off her feet by a man in what appeared to be Imperial dress. In the middle of taking a drink, he found himself coughing, and apologize profusely for his indiscretion.

The General spoke to Jecht directly who informed him that everything was going smoothly. He nodded and then headed toward the Queen. "My lady so sorry for my short absence but the guards threw some what of a suprise party..." The Queen was strangely quite and she merely nodded. Dalamar took his place at her side and watched the festivities.

The music had kicked into full gear much to Adraudia's delight!
"Do ya know th' steps?" She asked, clasping her hands together in glee. The music was to an old Onderon folk dance that was fast paced. If one didn't know the step carefully enough, you could trip not only on your partner's feet, but those of the people around you and cause a huge catastrophe as the dancing circle closed in and spread out during certain beats.
"Of course!" And she was whisked away, drawn into the massive crowd that was undulating as one entity.
Adraudia laughed like a child as they danced! It felt wondrous to be just a simple person and not having to worry about people impressing her. She could dance without underlying motives of state coming into play and simply have fun!
Though after the last spin, her jubilance came crashing down for the second time tonight. Dalamar was sitting next to Jaynie, who smartly fanned her face to keep it well hidden. This would do no good. The General would take the 'Queen's' silence as odd.
Where was Razielle! Ah! She was on the other side of the dance floor but not too far away. Slowing down their steps would not interfere with those around them in order for her to catch up with the Princess.
"Hey! Let's get closer ta them so we can dance together!" She pointed out Razielle with a flick of her chin.
Seeing the Cap'n's friend again his eyes grow eager. "Certainly!"
Both veterans of the dance, the pair easily allowed the other couples to pass them until they were dancing side by side with Razielle and her partner. Adraudia didn't recognize him but wondered how an Imperial got into the arms of her friend.
Story for later.
"Luci!" Adraudia grinned allowed her eyes to show Razielle her concern. "Doesn't th' Queen an' her ward look ravishin?!"
Hopefully the Princess hadn't gotten too liquored up yet to miss the point of her worry!
Razielle Alastor
Jul 24th, 2006, 02:44:24 PM
Razielle gazed at Adraudia from her upside down vantage, being held by Victer with her hair nearly brushing the floor. She was laughing and having so much fun she had nearly lost track of what the Queen was trying to convey. When her partner pulled her upright, Razielle flicked her gaze to the General.
"They look grand, don't they? I'll take of it for ye Milady Cap'n.." The last was whispered to her friend.
Locking her finngers behind Victer's neck she leaned in and whispered. "I wonder if you would excuse me for a moment, I have another crisis to avert. You know how they seem to pop up around me.." She winked and promised to return to dance with him again..
Approaching the "royal pair" Raz made sure to attract the General's attention. She picked up a glass off a passing waiters tray and raised it towards the illustrious General, taking a sip. The invitation was unmistakable, the lady wanted a dance.. But would he bite?
She didn't wait to see, dissappearing into the crowd. She emerged on the other side of the room, not far from Salem. She was done waiting for him. The man was dancing with her.
The upbeat music started to wind down and a haunting stringed melody began to play. She wasted no time, stepping in front of Salem she took his hand and muttered an excuse to his mysterious partner. "I'll bring him back later.. promise."
Sliding up as close to his body as was decent in public, Razielle wrapped her arms around his neck and whispered.
"Scold me later, just dance.."

The music seemed fitting, somehow. Salem did as was expected, holding his partner close as they danced – but there was a slight stiffness to his posture. “Are you enjoying your party?”

"I am yes.. It is turning out to be a lovely ball. Although you seem to be enjoying yourself a bit too much." She came right to the point making it absolutely clear that her jealously could very well eat her alive when he danced attendance on other women. But then, she had returned the favor by dancing with Victer hadn't she?
Only she hadn't really expected him to notice, clearly he had. If she wasn't mistaken her Master was a tad.. aggitated, in his nonresponsive sort of way. She was elated. So happy in fact that she would have kissed him if she thought she could get away with it.
Instead she played with the back of his neck as they danced, curling her fingertips in his hair. "You know, you really drive me to it.."

'Aylee' sipped her champagne and frowned in irritation as Salem Ave was whisked away by a strumpet in a devil mask. She turned and made her way away from the dance floor, drink in hand, ignoring anyone who attempted to strike up a conversation.
Just how exactly did one go about telling someone else you knew he was a Force user? It was a frustrating problem, and one she intended to fix soon.

"Do you think so..?" She was really enjoying this.
She spied her former partner, looking rather dashing in his Imperial costume, and smiled. "That.. is Captain Victer Dejan, owner and apparent operater of the freighter that delivered the list of specialty wines I ordered. He is a very entertaining gent.."
She wasn't happy with the formal way his hands were settled at her waist. She had no intention of letting things stay so platonic between them. Time to heat it up a bit. Her hands dropped to cover his and drag them down to her thighs. "Is this really what you want to talk about right now..?"

“No...”
Salem bent his head towards Razielle slowly, as if about to kiss the devil in his arms. His gaze lingered on hers for a moment then on her lips, enticing as they were, and then...
“The woman I was dancing with is a Force user.”

This was as good a time as any to sample some of the wine he did not taste while he was assembling the shipment. Razielle had gone off to put off impending disaster with a friend, likely the Queen herself. He was not surprised the pair were up for that sort of disobedience. Victer poured himself a health glass of white wine. He spotted a woman who was determined not to talk to anyone, filling her glass with wine that she was using as conversation repellent. She was clearly distracted by something. Danger of discovery foiled, Razielle jumped to another set of arms, this one not as receptive as his. He could be the rumored Salemn Ave, but it was not a good time to guess.
The dour woman finished filling her glass. Victer cast a brief glance her way. She was very attractive, but not interested. She was dealing with her own mysteries and dilemmas. Experience told him to leave her be. He casually leaned against a pillar, watching the crowd sway to the folk tune. Victer swirled his glass a few times and wondered where Razielle’s partner in leather had gotten to.

Dalamar took the flower with a nod. Then he spoke to the Queen. "I do believe that is Razelle your ward My lady. She seems to be enjoying herself." The Queen sat stiffly and started fanning herself more furiously. "Whats the matter Araudia? Don't you feel well?"

As he leaned close to her, her pulse quickened. She was sure as close she was to him at this moment he could tell. She didn't care, she had been waiting for this for two years, Salem Ave was going to kiss her, she just knew it.. Her eyes began to slide shut dreamily..and then..
“The woman I was dancing with is a Force user.” She couldn't credit the statement. Her eyes opened up and she was on the alert. She could have groaned her dissapointment, but in light of the new events she would let it slide, this time..
"What do we do..?" Her eyes quickly scanned for Adraudia. She still seemed to be having a grand time with her group of men, but they did seem a tad on the rowdy side.

"For th' last time Ah said no!" She was getting aggravated by these men, though with candid laughter Adraudia pushed one away. They were becoming increasingly inebriated as each song passed.
"Aw come on, love." The slenderest of fellows wrapped an arm around her waist to pull her back. "We just want a peek ..."
His breath stank of alcohol. Adraudia crinkled her nose. "Now, deary. If you an' your friends behave, Ah promised you a glance after th' Ball."
"Bu' we want one nooooooooow!" The more polite of the three had stumbled into drunkenness with them which had disappointed the Queen. She had rather liked the gent.
"C'mon on Cap'n!" He slurred and saluted Adraudia with his stance off kilter. The slender fellow had move behind her, blocking one avenue of escape while the other two were closing in. "One little peek of that angelic face and back to the party we go!!!"
Her jaw tightened as she tried to think of a way out of this mess without eluding to who she actually was. She could easily mop the floor with them but such a scuffle would bring the guards, questions and unmasking. The Force was out of the question as well. Adraudia couldn't allow that. Her lessons must remian a secret. Being unmasked and having the Royal Court lecture her on her antics was a far perferable fate...

“For the time being, nothing. We'll discuss the matter once we're outside of Iziz's walls.” As they turned in their dance, Salem once again found the Queen in his line of sight. A group of men had surrounded her, and look as they were trying to get her to comply with some drunken request. “Your plan isn't running so smoothly,” he observed.

Lilaena caught the eye of a man dressed as an Imperial officer, and looked away. Perhaps Dalamar would come to claim his dance before the night was over.
She did not want to turn him on to Salem Ave, however. Dalamar was well-intentioned, but he usually jumped heedlessly into things that had to be handled delicately. She would tell him eventually, of course. Lilaena walked slowly around the ballroom, only to notice a scuffle breaking out at the far side of the room.
Victer Dejan

It seemed that the Captain’s crew was about to mutiny. They were drunk, therefore distractible. As much as he was enjoying this wine, he clearly wasn’t enjoying it as much as the Capn’s crew.
He stumbled over to the trio surrounding Razielle’s compatriot, faking drunk. Victer’s forward motion did not stop soon enough, and the hand holding his wineglass bumped into the shoulder of the men. Wine cascaded across his shoulder to his neck.
“Oh I’mm sthorry.” The man turned, extremely upset at this turn of events.
“Bastard!” He proclaimed. Victer looked pained.
“Lookh I’mth orry. Ffiss wine itsreaaaaally sneakeh.” Victer repeated in his best drunken slur. The Captain took the opportunity to duck away and disappear as Victer drew their attention.
“I... want… no no, demand comp..com-pen-sation.” He was close to boiling.
“Mmm not gonna do it. All ya need is some goo-gone, whole thing, gooder than new. Heh.”

"I see what you mean.."
Damnit! She didn't want to walk away from Salem right now. She didn't want their dance to end. She didn't want to have to worry about another Force user. She didn't want to have to go and deal with a bunch of drunks.
Determined to give Salem something to ponder, since she had to leave him for the moment, Razielle grinned beneath the mask. Her hands still covered his own on her thighs. With minimal effort she had unhooked a leather garter encircling her thigh and left in in his hand. "Hang onto that for me, will you..?" Unable to stop herself, Razielle leaned forward and kissed him. Nothing earth shattering, just a quick peck of the most genuine kind of affection. Then she was gone, determined to get Adraudia out of danger.
It seemed her friend the Captain was also aware of the situation. She was really going to have to thank him for the help. But while he was distracting one of the drunks another one was already reaching for the Queen's mask. Razielle was furious. She was the Queen and he was not going to touch her.
"BACK OFF!" It seemed her bellow slammed right into the man, knocking him off his feet and over a table. He landed in a mess of spilled food and drinks. She hadn't meant for that to happen. She had been unable to stop it. The fury behind her actions had let slip her control, and she had shoved the bastard away from the Queen using the Force.
"Let's go Cap'n.. Party is getting too wild.." She grabbed Adraudia's arm and before anyone could react they had fled into a hallway, then through a secret passage that led to the Queen's sitting room. They were joined shortly by the girls, Jaynie and Lira who seemed most concerned. They were hushed up out of necessity, they had to change, and fast!

There was a loud commotion and someone had used the force. "Excuse me my Queen." But whoever had done it was to fast. There lying on the ground was the drunk. But whomever the force user was had already fled.
DeSang called Ject to him. "Tell the guards be on full alert. One of out guests is a force user. If the encounter him tell them not to engage but to contact me immediately."
Dalamar looked up and saw that Araudia had went to her chambers. Good she will be safer there. He got a hold of the host and directed him to play some more music and bring out some more drinks and keep the guests happy. He of course readily complied.

Jecht had turned just in time to see the man vualt through the air. But instead of letting himself stand dumbfounded, instread he started making his way towards the scene, only to be called away by the General. He made a half turn and made his way to where Dalamar stood, "Yessir. I will see that it is done," He answered and quickly began contacted the royal guards around the ballroom and surounding area, informing them of the situation and commanding them to engage with any possible for user, but to instead contact the General.
Jecht then patrolled around the 'crash' site, looking for the rogue force user or anyone else who could have pulled the stunt off.

Lilaena felt the ripples in the Force, but kept her face carefully schooled to match those of the people around her. She didn't want to look around suspiciously and draw attention to herself. Dalamar was running around like the place was on fire, drawing unwanted attention from Salem Ave.
She gritted her teeth, noticing that the Queen and her Ward had left the dias, no doubt in case there was another altercation nearer to them. Security was tight - but with a horde of Mandalorians outside the walls there was a reason for it to be.
Time for her to leave. Lilaena handed her drink to a serving man, and discretely made for the nearest exit. She was far enough away from the scuffle that no one paid any attention to the woman in the crimson and black dress.

They changed in silence. Adraudia's mind was reeling with the fact that Razielle was Force Sensitive. In her anger, the Princess had shoved that man away from her, yet was it done unwittingly? Her thoughts turned towards Salem, wondering if he had known about her ward's power before this night. In a way, Adraudia was delighted. She wasn't the only one that could use the Force and the strength behind the Princess' assault showed that their friendship was growing stronger.
"Come on your Majesty!!!" Lira's fretting was steadily increasing the longer that the Queen and Princess dallied in the sitting room.
Jaynie quickly styled Adraudia's hair. It closely resembled what she looked before but it was easily explained in the panic to depart the Ball that it looked a tad weathered. The Queen rose, setting the royal sash in place, checking to see if Razielle was ready.
