Rayna Eclipse
Jun 2nd, 2006, 02:13:56 PM
Once a Jedi of a secretive Order of Aequitas deep within the core far from the reach, or even interest, of the Emperor Palpatine, Rayna Eclipse emerged into the greater galaxy in a quest to subdue the evil that grew outside her home. Her mission, which she chose despite the firm insistance of the Aequitan Jedi, was to infilrate the Sith Order of Korriban and destroy them from within.
An apprentice of the infamous Sith Knight Southstar, she was submerged into the Dark Side, her rigid Jedi training providing an evershrinking bubble as she struggled to fufill her mission and make it out alive. Her greatest action, unbeknownst to her, was that of securing the Sith protocols (a comprehesive assessement of every Sith relative to the Order) and making them available for remote access. These protocols were later accessed by Alexia Sturkov and pivitol in her invasion of Korriban. She then became involved with another Sith Apprentice, Jorshal Vuntana. Despite the rulings of her own Jedi code and the irrelvance to her mission, she began a romantic relationship with the Sith, one that would haunt her and nearly cost her everything.
As the fuse grew closer to the powder keg, Rayna saw the need to take her own personal action against the Sith and betrayed her master Southstar while on mission with every intent of killing him. Though she believed she acted in full conscious of the Light and justice, the dark side had finally trickled in. Her hatred for Southstar fueled her in the duel, nearly giving her the victory but at Southstar's expressed observation, she realized how far she had fallen and spared the Sith Knight, only to flee and regroup.
Southstar sought her out alone and unaware how far Rayna's infiltration went. His own lover, Nadja Storm, was in league with Rayna and his trusted friend and ally had too been bought off. The result was slaughter. Southstar had been maimed and killed, Rayna having taken the killing blow for herself. Nights passed as she wondered how far she had fallen, though her mission was accomplished, she could never return home. Her purity had been tainted and the uncompromising Order of Aequitas would never have her.
Whatever plans she might have had for the rest of her life in the principle galaxy became irrelevant as she found herself at the tip of the blade of vengence. Holding it at her throat was her former lover Jorshal Vuntana, fire in his eyes. She had hoped in despondence that with the death of his Master he might be persuaded towards the light. That maybe the two could go on outside the Sith and outside the dark, she was mistaken. Death was too simple, torture was inadequate, Jorshal's solution was to take her to the dollhouse.
The dollhouse was a creation of Southstar, a sadistic temple of horror he frequently used to thoroughly punish his enemies. Admission to the Dollhouse entailed a 'cleansing' of the brain, a total memory wipe, a reduction to an organism with barely enough sense to stare ahead, jaw dropped open. This became the life of Rayna Eclipse.
Jorshal Vuntana was not the Knight his master was, his skill was incomplete. Rayna's memories were gone permenantly, she would never regain them, though a few lingered unnoticed in the back of her mind. The former lover of Southstar, and later lover of Jorshal himself, Nadja Storm stole the secret of Rayna's existance away and liberated her from the Dollhouse. Time passed by and what remained of Rayna Eclipse was left unattended. Corellia became her dwelling, spice became her master, an excuse for man named Zedrin became the seller of her flesh. Rayna's life in the Dollhouse was pathetic, rueful and sad; Rayna's mere existance on Corellia was disgusting and pitiful.
She was rescued, whether by Nadja (who had left her), or herself remains to be a conflict within her. Nadja worked with Rayna to patch together the fragmented memories to form a cohesive story that would account for her past life. To this day she can not remember her past, the memories are gone. The story which she faithfully believes is her only guide in what some would deem a second chance with life, what she deems as a consequence of the life of a person she never knew; a second chance this is not.
Her relationship with the person that was once her is distant at best. She sometimes resents having to atone for the sins of someone she can hardly remember. Her connection with the Force has been renewed, this is how she knows it to be right. Rayna, with the help and resources of Nadja, set about righting her life and resuming her status as a Jedi, though the scars of prostitution and the addiction of spice remain. These however, are not her only dark enemies. She resumed her crusade against the Sith on perhaps their worst day.
Alexia Sturkov stormed Korriban in a flaming frenzy, costing the Sith Order all they had attained. Rayna acted alone and returned to the Palace in disguise and found the man who had twisted her. She poisoned Jorshal, now a Sith Master, and allowed him to watch the Order crumble down, then she motioned to exact the killing blow. In a fury of emotion she revealed herself to him, again succuming to the Dark Side she tasted with Southstar. The conflict of dark and light raged inside her as she engaged Jorshal in physical combat and exacting a mortal blow. She never saw the life fade from Jorshal's eyes as the Acolyte Tarsis arrived on the scene and forced her to make an escape, but not without a scar from who she deemed to be her next enemy in her war against the linage from Southstar.
Jedi do not flirt with the Dark Side, their devotion is to the Light. Rayna learned from this mission that she was not the righteous Jedi she believed. She still had issues with spice, she sought out revenge against Jorshal, she had felt the Dark Side once again. As the rumor of the Jedi gathering on Naboo reaches her and the Force leads her there, for the first time she goes to be amongst other Jedi. She believes a new Order is rising despite adversity from the Empire and the Sith and in some degree of arrogance she believes she has much to contribute. As her journey takes her closer to Naboo with an offer of her experience and skill, she knows inside that the offer is a cover. Rayna knows that she seeks out the Jedi on Naboo in desperation, in grave need for help.
Note: The point in which Rayna engages Jorshal and Tarsis has yet to be written though thte tread is started at TSO. The part which she goes to Naboo is to be written as part of the thread in which she meets the Jedi at Naboo. I think I've talked about Rayna's joining of the new order or association or whatever it is to be with those involved, Kyle for sure. Also, if anyone is interested in a RP, PM me, I'm always game :)
