History: Born in 1969 in Metairie, Louisiana from to an Octaroon burlesque hostess named Jeannie Tibodeaux. Father was Charles Broussard, a part time Orleans Parish police officer.
Freddie spent his life torn between extremes. With no higher education prospects and poor parents, he tried to join the Cloth, but was expelled when it was discovered he was a practicing Traiteur, or cajun folk healer, trying to make ends during his studies. After his expulsion, he spent a few years holding unsuccessful jobs.
From 1989 to 1995 he served time at Angola (Louisiana State Penn) on an armed robbery charge. Despite initially claiming he didn't commit the crime, he plead guilty to charges and took a reduced sentence and parole. His parole period ended in 1999, and he moved to Chicago to start a new life. Setting up trade in a downtown shop, he sells his Traiteur skills as "alternative medicine", but it appears he also picked up some acquaintances from his prison days.
Personality: Bruised by almost perpetual failures in his life, Freddie harbors a deep sense of self doubt. He seeks refuge from this doubt through Jesus, and occasional bouts of substance abuse. He holds an extremely firm faith in God and his Traiteur skills. If either seem to fail him, he considers it his own inner failure.
Further, Freddie has an occasional, but extreme anger problem when it is provoked.
Perception: Most in Chi-town see Freddie as an eccentric out-of-towner, and generally take well to his intriguing New Orleans personality and habits. He impresses some and inspires distrust in others.
Additional information: Like many poor children of New Orleans, Freddie attempted to hone his muse in order to make a few bucks. He played blues on street corners on weekends, and while it doesn't pay the bills anymore, he still fancies himself as a musician.
