View Full Version : The quiet before the storm

The galaxy had been quiet for some time. Too quiet for the likes of some. One in particular was the Sith Knight Yurza Magus. He thought about what he could do to stir up some mischief as he say in a quaint little cafe on Dantooine. Prehaps a few deaths here and there would stir up some interest in people, but how much would be needed?

He sipped on his drink as he looked around the surrounding areas. He was sitting outside, looking onto a small market place as an idea came to his mind. It wasn't death or anything so grand, but it was something to pass the time.

Yurza looked about and found his first victim. He noded towards a rather short and cubby looking Sullatan who happened to be wearing what he might consider some fancy clothing. Just as he was about to take another step, Yurza reached out with the Force and caught his foot and down the Sullastan went. Along for the ride were two humans that just happened by and were the closet thing for him to hold on to to try and maintain balance.

"Ahh...the amusement from the pain of others. Nothing quite like it," he thought as he nodded towards a few others, tripping and knocking off hats or other articles of loose clothing.

There was the click of high heels as a red haired woman walked onto the scene. She looked around at the chaos and saw Yurza sitting there by himself; the funny part was that he was the only one who was not affected by the strange phenomenon. Alexia Sturkov was never one to miss a party, especially when it involved someone else's pain. She sauntered up to Yurza's table and took a seat without asking. She looked him over for a few moments before finally recognizing him. A sly smile passed across her face, it was all she could do from screaming and cutting him down where he sat, “Having fun Yurza?” She asked as she fixed her piercing green eyes on his, “This seems a little low class for you.”

He shrugged as he tripped a small child running after thier mother. "Maybe, but it does pass the time."

He looked over at her as he lowered his cup from taking another sip. "Do I know you? You seem pretty familiar to me, and yet I can not place you."

Alexia watched the child stumble and smack its head on the durocrete sidewalk. It jumped back up and went crying into its mother's arms. She turned back to Yurza, "Oh, I'm sorry. No, we have never met; well, not in this lifetime. You can be Alexia. That is the name I go by now. So, tell me. How are things at your petty little order on Korriban?" She raised her hand and suddenly found himself lying on his back and his cup of coffee was missing. Alexia plucked the floating cup out of the air and sipped the hot contents, "Bleh, not enough cream," She complained before taking another sip.

Yurza sat for a moment out of suprise. He had let his gaurd down because he didn't think that there was anyone in the area that was Force strong. Apparently he had been wrong.

He chuckled and shook his head as he leaned back and brought his leg up in the air before throwing them forward, the momentum pulling him off the ground. "Impressive, but do not be mistaken. It won't happen again."

He took his seat again and brushed off his pants legs. "You speak of the Order so I assume you had an arrangment with us once before. And from your attitude with me, it did not go well?"

Alexia smiled, "You always struck me as one with his head on straight, Yurza, but I'm still surprised you caught on so fast. Yes, I walked those dark halls under Korriban's surface. But that was a long time ago, during my previous life. Tell me this, has your pitiful order crumbled to dust yet or does it still stand?" She asked before draining the remains of the cup and setting it down in the center of the table, where it was instantly crushed by an invisible fist to the size of a peanut.

"It stands. We are just laying low until the time is right," he responded. "So in your previous life eh? It couldn't have been that bad. You obviously left no Novice."

Alexia ignored his comment and pressed on with more questions, "Is Zereth Lancer still an active member of the Order?" She asked and when she did her face darkened and the dark fire of hate entered her eyes. One of her hands tightened into a fist and the table next to their split in half and fell to the ground in pieces.

"From what I've seen he is. And from the tone I see you setting around here, you have a bone to pick with him?" He said glancing over at the table next to them.

"What would make you say that?" Alexia asked, suddenly coming back under control, "Well, anyways. Lets move on to more important things. Are you happy with your position within the Sith Order, Yurza, or do you hunger for something more?"

For her first question, Yurza motioned to the table beside them that now sat in half. For her second. "I am Sith, therefore I always hunger for more, but at the moment I am happy wtih my station in life seeing as how that is as far as I can go at the moment."

"So, would it be a waste of my breath and time to try and convince you to join my cause and turn against the Sith Order, or would you be willing if the 'price' is right?"

Yurza Magus

"I seriously doubt your 'price' would even come close to what I would need in order to seperate."

"Would surviving the apocalypse that is to come be enough of a payment? How about sitting at the right hand of my throne when that time comes? Such a position can only be offered once and when the apocalypse does come there will be a line of burning souls that had wished they had joined me when they had the chance. I do hope you are not foolish enough to pass by such an offer, even you must be intelligent enough to see the wisdom of my words."

"I'm intelligent to see the ravings of a person gone mad," he said with a smirk. "What apocalypse threatens the universe now? A wave of unknown aliens? Another war? A virus? What has happened so far I have survived, and what can you say that will make me think differently?"

Alexia Sturkov

"Yes, madness perhaps, that is expected when after one dies, but I am not blinded by it, as you are by your ignorance. There is little I can say to convince you. It crossed my mind to give you a small example, the only problem is that you would not survive it," Alexia made the smallest motion with her hand and then laid it back down on the table, "I don't want to have to kill you Yurza. You would be a very strong ally to me, but I will not hesitate to wipe you aside," Her voice was now laced with venom and the kind of tone that said you'd better make up your mind now because you've only got a few moments left.

Across the street a hooded figure stood, another stood in an alley mouth, and several where walking up and down the street. One was even sitting at one of the tables in the cafe with a newspaper in it's hand and a cup of untouched coffee in front of it. The only similarity they shared was they where all dressed it thick black robes that went all the way down to the ground. Their hoods covered their faces entirely and one could imagine they saw a pair of glowing green eyes looking out every now and then. One could hear the sound of scraping metal when they moved.

"What apocalypse you ask..." She trailed off and smiled, "Mine of course."

"Ahh...so you intend on starting this thing? Well I wish you luck, but a word of advice my poor dead girl," he said as he sat up straight and leaned forward. His right hand slid down to sit in his lap, near his lightsaber. His other arm, he used to lean on the table to whisper to Alexia. "If you think you can bully or frighten me into your fold then you are sadly mistaken. And if I ever hear you even whisper a threat and my name is involved it will be the last mistake you ever make."

His left hand balled into a fist and the flattened cup between them balled as well. He flicked his wrist up and the ball went flying up, hitting Alexia in the face. "I hope I've made myself clear. What you have seen is nothing compared to my true power and I sorely hope for your sake that you have not been basing your threats on that."

The crumpled up cup stopped just centimeters from Alexia's face and then burst into flame, "Trust me when I say this Yurza, you have not seen my true power either," She said, looking side to side at how many people where around her. Not many civilians where present on the street now. It was mostly covered by the cloaked men, "I am in a good mood so I will just leave you with this warning. An apocalypse is coming and you would be best to prepare for it," She rose from her chair and started to walk away. She had only taken five steps before she turned back to Yurza, "Remember, next time we meet it will be as enemies and there will be no more pleasantries between us, only swords," She turned and walked away and as she did the cloaked figures retreated from sight. The one sitting across the cafe from Yurza was gone but it had left a knife behind on the table.
