Morning Star
Blindside
She shut your eyes
Now you could say better luck next time
But I know you're about to die
How deep can you drill into a man's soul
Still say better luck next time
When the only thing to fill it with is a lie
So say what you want
But drops of crystal clear water
Has been falling into your heart
Now you're sick of lying
Tonight a star is shining
On a heart that's dying
The morning star is shining again
So you better wake up
You better rise up
The morning star is shining again
How long has it been since you gave in
Did it just take all this time
For you to see you're not the Messiah
She shut your eyes
Or did you do it yourself with time
Did you on purpose walk astray
Did you choose to be a liar
A star called your name
Will you use your voice to answer
Just one last time
Now you're sick of lying down again...
Where are they, where did they all go? The shadows was once weark but now grow strong because the light that held them back has disapeared. So where did it go? The warriors of light are gone, the protectors of peace are not to be found, and the guardians of virtue have withered away. Did they leave the galaxy to fall into darkness, or did they leave because of it? But among the growing darkness a lone candle burns. Its bright light casts all shadows aside, defeating evil and spurning its minions. But by itself it can never illuminate the increasing darkness, only keep it at bay. For only with many candles can the darkness be repelled to the black void it came from, but many of the candles have been put out and the rest hide their flame under a covering. What courage does it take to burn as boldly as the lone candle? It doesn't take courage, strength, or intelligence. It takes faith...
Kyle Krogen walked down the streets of Corellia. The planet was tainted by the darkside, he could feel it. Rumors spread through the streets that the sith lords are taking over the planet. Most people brush it off saying 'It’s only a rumor," and so remain in blissful ignorance. But Kyle knew there was a speck of truth to all the rumors. The sith had indeed been walking Corellia and the place reeked of their filth. But Kyle knew it would be impossible to defeat such an enemy on his own. He had seached the galaxy for any remnant of the jedi, to aid him in his quest, but found nothing. So alone he will stand against the sith, to either defeat or be defeated by them. It really didn't matter to Kyle. All that mattered was his belief in the force, in the light, and that one cannot sit idle and watch the galaxy fall into darkness when one has the ability to act against it.
May a star shine through the dark clouds, to give hope with its light and to remind people that there is still good in the galaxy, and no amount of hate and darkness can remove that. So is the prayer of Kyle Krogen…

Corellia. When was the last time he'd been here? Ah yes. A rather self-centered member of the Emperor's inquisitoriate had made the ill-fated mistake of crossing him in the middle of a watching. His real quarry for that time had escaped in the process. At least he still saw blood that day.
He didn't traipse about all armed to the teeth like a lot of the fools he had tasted and slain as a seeker for the naive so-called emperor of the crumbling Empire. That had its time and place...and that time and place had long since passed. The essence of the universe told him exactly where it was he should be, and his purpose in each instance became fully clear over time. Otherwise, he was just a predator. Armed with the teeth.
Jedi had evolved, or devolved throughout his years. Those who had not been destroyed had become masters of hiding and shadow and minimizing the presence. One would assume they were few, if existant at all. But the balance would not allow it. Therefore, there were Jedi of one form or another in existence. It was not within his goals to hunt them at this time. Rather, it was to observe. And perhaps harrass them a little.
"You appear a little deeply concerned for someone your age." The voice seemed to breathe chills down the boy's neck that made the superstitious believe someone was trudging on their grave.

"Perhaps," Kyle said, turning around and facing Phoenix, putting his face near that of the man's-- standing on the tips of his toes to get high enough, "But, last time I checked my concerns were my own and didn't concern the likes of you." He glared at the man with his deep blue eyes. Something about the man gave Kyle the chills, although he didn't let it show. He reached out in the force and found the one thing his cowardice feared most. The darkside surrounded the man in a hazy red aura that opposed the vibrant white glow that emanated off Kyle's own person. Kyle did not know how he should approach the darksider, attacking outright would be evil and contradictive to his Jedi oaths. Jedi were defenders, not attackers. But, this planet was already under attack by them, so to boldly attack would be, in a way, defending the Corellians. This internal struggle went on for an eternity, but really only transpired for three minutes.
"Can I help you with something?" Kyle said, breaking the silence that had grown between him and the giant.

Mars just looked down on the boy. "Not likely." He stood up straight...the monstrousity of his height was a little confounding.
He stepped to the side and kept walking. "Walk with me, boy."
If Kyle could have an inkling of the Sith's intentions, he would know this one was not one of those participating in placing a crushing thumb over this planet. And it did not serve his purposes to be slaughtering Jedi. Which should seem odd to the boy, but it was what the boy did not know that made it odder.
"I am not one of the dominion-seeking sychophants that you see gnawing on the life of this planet. Stop being so judgemental."

Kyle looked away the man and fell in step beside him, "Perhaps I am wrong to assume that all darksiders are 'dominion-seeking sycophants', for I was told that they were. But still, the base element remains. You are a being of darkness, and that really is the only thing that really matters at this point," Kyle said as they walked down the street. He really had no idea what the Man's plan was, but it never hurt to be polite to someone, even if that someone is the thing you swore to destroy. But, despite this, Kyle still kept his right hand in his coat pocket, clutching tightly to the lightsabre hilt that was hidden within. If the man tried anything funny, he wouldn’t find Kyle a defenseless target.

Phoenix kept his hands folded behind his back.
Typical lightsider. Paranoid, seeing his righteousness only in ridding existence of those with supposed 'lesser ideals' He kept this thought to himself.
"You are a fortunate boy to not have been even a remotely notable Jedi when my given purpose was hunting them. But purposes change. It does not serve the balance to be destroying them now." Surely his words would leave the boy a little confused, especially since the way it appeared that Mars worked was not for a set of principles or a cause, but for a synchronous purpose.
"My life, unlike most other wielders you may encounter, is not dedicated to a set of principles or a cause."

"Well, I'd suspect you'll be hearing a lot more about me, say on the Empire's most wanted, but that aside; in recent years I have not been sporting the name of Jedi, but hiding it. But now I seek to fulfill the role I accepted as a child, even if it pits me against the galaxy," He turned his head and looked up at Phoenix, "Is there any chance that you'd be swayed to turn to the lightside and give up your life of evil and find redemption, blah, blah and the rest of that sermon?" He asked, despite the fact that he knew there was not a chance of him turning this man.
Kyle was starting to feel uncomfortable by how open and polite the darksider was. It made Kyle, as the 'good' one of the two to be even nicer and more polite, but Kyle wasn't going to stoop that low for anyone. But he did find himself pulling his hand out his pocket, but keeping his hands at his sides, just in case.
"If you are not dedicated to principle or order, then you nothing more than blind chaos, one who does what he does not for reason, but just because he wants to and has the ability to do so. But even then, there must be some moral code that you follow, because all people have some path that they walk, even if they don't know it themselves."

Phoenix kept his eyes forward, continuing to walk slowly. "The empire is weak, a brigade of fools. Without their emperor, they will not last much longer. He was a blinded and naive man, and I knew well that the empire was destined to fall, even in its infancy."
He glanced at Kyle. The boy was still uneasy.
"My father, as I have discovered throughout my years, was a man of chaos, and made the powers that have come and passed of recent years look like children. I despised him, and took rather well to his downfall. Such a power that he beheld one man, Jedi or not, could hardly contend with alone. But on the other hand, I am hardly a man by any complete definition. Neither was he."

"But even chaos must have a path," Kyle said, still pursuing the subject, "It still has to be directed and formed. If you serve chaos then your chaos itself is what you are dedicated to.
Yes, the empire will fall, unless another sith lord rises to take the Emperor’s place, and even then it would only prolonged the empires destruction. Now answer me this, if you will. What is it that stops you from reaching out and conquering cities, nations, worlds? You could so easily have anything and everything, and yet you’re content with only causing chaos?" It was a strange, and eye opening thought to Kyle. He had always been told that everything that serves the darkside is a creature of evil that only thinks about conquering the galaxy. Clearly this man before him was a being that sat outside that general category, but then what category did he belong to?

"Your pursuit of a definition and category to place me under will be fruitless. I do not serve chaos. I serve the balance. Order. It is those of us that serve this that are the keepers of the universe, and everything it entails. A custodian, if you will...Otherwise, civilization - whether you appreciate the current state of it or not - would be simply a fancy in the back of minds and then, only then, would any of us truly know what survival is. True survival is attained only by few, and is driven by chaos."
Mars unfolded his hands from behind his back, and degloved his right hand, stroking a self-inflicted wound from the previous day. It would not be apparent that he had suffered any physical damage within another couple hours. Replacing the glove, he allowed his hands to be loose, and swing naturally with the walk of his unusually tall frame.
"You have not seen true chaos and have not truly survived until you are trying to keep the people innocent from chaos, and continue to succeed at it."

"Pursuit of balance you say, but is not that what the jedi are, or at least were in the ancient days. How can you serve balance if you are a darksider? You could therefore disturb the balance yourself, and then what; suicide?" Kyle said; clearly not understand the man's motives. It sounded so lame, what did balance have anything to with anything. Sure, balance was nice, but the thing it that true balance never lasts for long, and if your a darksider then you would throw the balance out if the light became so little and the dark so strong, "Well, you must not be doing a very good job then, because the last time I checked the universe was far from balanced. Evil runs rampant throughout the galaxy, and little good is seen these days." Perhaps he just wasn't getting, but he was clearly interesting in the subject and hoped the man would continue to explain this philosophy.
