View Full Version : New Years Resolutions

It's that time of year again! Turn over a new leaf, or turn over an old leaf again - what are your New Year's Resolutions?
Unlike other years, I'm actually making one. I resolve to lose 30 pounds and become more limber! I'm as stretchy as a dry stick right now, and it's not healthy.
So for me: lose weight, become flexible and healthy.
How about you?

Get a job I like. Write more since that's kinda why I moved here - and I haven't completed a script in ages.

learn spanish - have registered for begining spanish, I have a small vocab and begining grammer in place, so I hope the class goes well.
The following are not really resolutions as I've been working on these for a while - so they are now on the "to finish this year" list.
<ul>
pay off remaining credit cards
- those of you who have known me for a while may have heard me whining about this on and off for about 6 years now... this year the nails are finally going in the coffins. Have killed two off, the final bill will die before the leaves begin to turn gold in the fall. >=}
finish 1st draft of script
- blah blah blah... would like to have the rough completed before the middle of Aug.
[/list]
Those will do for now.

I plan to use this thread to keep track of my progress on my resolution as well.
So far I did about a half hour of yoga on Wednesday, so I'm ahead of the game! The new year doesn't even start until MONDAY! Score!! :crack
It is hard to concentrate on breathing slowly etc when there is a cat clawing at your fingers, however. ^_^; Note for next time: lock cats away first!

I don't make new years resolutions because I never keep them or I forget what they were a week after new years. I'm just simply going wave byebye to 2006 and welcome the shiny new 2007 with open arms. (Almost like giving up an xbox for the 360)

Last years!
- go on a "real" vacation <--Dunzo :D
- be healthier, both physically and mentally <-- I had a gym membership, but I only went a few times, so I cancelled it
- accomplish something tangible with my writing/drawing <-not done
- work harder in school <-- I quit, so yay me ^_^;
- credit card (again) <-- I did have it almost all paid off, then they up'd my limit and I went down to Alabama...so...I'm making this one again.
This years!
- go back to Alabama in the spring/summer
- be more assertive
- draw something every day
- blog at least once a week
I'm sure I'll add more when I can think of them :lol

I don't remember mine from last year but it doesn't matter I think I only suceeded at two of them and one was by accident.
Continue to lose weight and get in shape. (I lost weight last year which was the one that sorta happened by accident considering I worked constantly and only ate one time a day.)
Quit smoking
Go out and do more social active things to try and come out of my shell a little bit in rl instead of living make believe land.
Try to get back into rping here at fans.

1. Continue eating healthy
2. Take a computer course
3. Meet my youngest brother
4. Don't break any bones
5. Be able to say 'bathroom' in public, and not blush when people name certain parts of the anatomy and/or certain activites between men and woman (or, I suppose, men and men or women and woman) because really it's perfectly natural and I have to get over it and stop being SUCH A PRUDE.

-Procrastinate less
-Try to remember to eat without other people reminding me (yes, of all the things my horrid memory forgets, it's to eat. I really don't understand why....)
-Revise a small children's book I wrote for french class, in french...in high school... As my mum has been pushing for me to do so and find a publisher. HAHA. Right...
-Keep up with the housework, and stop being so disorganized (This ties into my procrastination habit...)
So, that's just a few things.

- Get more serious with my work outs, although I made good progress last year. Unlike others here, my goal is to gain weight, not lose weight, because I am still fairly skinny. And were talking about muscles, not fat..
- Find a job I like.
- Find some new hobbies that is not related to computers and is social..
- Carpe Diem. Spend my time more wisely and not leave stuff undone or piled up on my desk.
- Learn some Italian
- Build a new computer some time this year.
- On these and several other forums; come up with new topics rather than just replying to everyone else.. :p
- Read more books.
- Remembering these resolutions and fulfill them.

Last year I was a good boy. I've decided this year will be totally devoted to hedonism.

I have yet to decide on a good time of day to consistently do yoga. The ideal time is about 5 am, but that means I have to actually GET UP that early. :cry
