Everyone, so, I am going to the doctor when I get back to school, but we're pretty sure I have mono. People in my school had it, and well. . .let's just say a lot of us got it. (Spin the bottle in college, for fun, at a party, before we knew anyone had it.) So, I'm sorry it's been so long since I've been on, but I feel like crap. I'll post whenever I'm awake, bye all!

That sucks - I had it in high school and it really stinks... It knocked me on my butt for about 3 weeks. Get well...

Never heard of mono before. I wonder if I've ever had it.

Hope you get better soon, chap.

I heard you can get mono from kissing cows - at least, that was the story I was told while living out in the Nevada backcountry.

You ain't been out kissin' cows, 'ave ye? ;)

Hope you get better though :hug

Mononucleosis - aka Mono

Known as the "kissing disease", infectious mononucleosis is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus. You can only get it once in your life, but if you do get it, it can take several weeks to recover.

What is mono?

Mono is a viral disease. The Epstein-Barr virus is very common and infects the great majority of people at some point in their lives, but not all people develop symptoms of mononucleosis. Mono is most common in young adults ages 15 to 25.

Symptoms of mono can include some or all of the following:

* High fever

* Headache

* Severe sore throat

* Swollen glands (lymph nodes)

* Fatigue

* Muscle aches

* Abdominal tenderness

Symptoms usually last two to four weeks, though feelings of fatigue may last longer.

You all played spin the bottle at college!? Why do I never find these parties?

I have a friend suffering from Mono, I think she's doing better though.

Hope you'll be doing better soon too!

I don't understand why you have to wait to go to the doctor when you go back to college. Go now. :)

Because my mother won't really take me. . .she's all like, "You can just wait. Besides, it's free at college." Stupid free clinics. . .

no no, free is always good, especially free clinics. Just don't make it a religion to avoid doctors and hospitals as I have.

Ugh, free is good, I agree. But they need to have competent (sp? heh, irony) people working there. *shakes fist at his college's free clinic*
