Stumbled upon this just now. I admit I can't play the game, but I figure some of you might, and get a kick out of it.

Sorry if this is a repost ^_^;

Hmm, not how it was in KOTOR...

That wasn't Sabacc in KOTOR. That was Pazaak. This game is very true to the novels.

I only played around with it for a few minutes, but it didn't take me very long to quintuple my starting credits. Someday when I have bookoos of extra time, I'll work on that high scores list :P.

Oh, no wonder :) I like Pazaak more, then.

Yay for black jack.

I agree. While this particular version of the game is fairly accurate, there are aspects missing from the game that make it a lot less fun.

For example, in the REAL game (according to the books), you start with two cards, and are given the opportunity to draw and/or discard every turn. Changing of cards only occurs once every now and then, not nearly as often as in this game - e.g., every turn, there would be about a 50% chance that ONE card would change. And, if I'm not mistaken, you are allowed more than two cards in the inhibitor field at any given time, but they are place face-up, so that other players can see them.

In reality, the game should also be played with as many people as possible. And I've never read anything about a 46 being called a sabacc. (Which is not to say that it was never written.)

Still, this game is fairly well-made. Kudos to whoever took the time to do it. I wouldn't have gotten it that close, myself. The real version, though, seems open to a lot more strategy, etc. I won by clicking "next hand" until I had over twenty :|

(If anyone's interested, there's actually a website with a full rulesheet and a downloadable deck: http://swagonline.net/sabacc.php. Thanks for sparking me to look this up, s'Il :D)

EDIT: Realized that link was dead. I fixed it.

Cool!!! I used to play online Sabacc a lot during college and then I kinda forgot all about it - I'll have to play again now that you found this site...

Woohoo! A pure sabacc, I win!

Yeah, its pretty enjoyable but the fact seems that I've got an overabundance of luck and I am rackin in the credits, but its only fun for so long.

I think it's broken. You're meant to be closest to 23 or -23, but I think my -20 lost to a 19.

There, 18th :)

Right... It get's pretty boring around 20,632 credits... :D

Clicking the little arrow enough to get a 5,000 credit bet is just... too much. I can't keep going long enough for number one. Number 5 is good enough for me.

(Too much free time...)

Yeah, that was my problem. I was spending less time playing and more time hitting a button.

I started to play when I first found it, but opened up solitaire and played that instead because it makes more sense to me; even after reading the sabacc rules ^_^;

Can't you input a bet with the keyboard?

Nope. It doesn't read the bet if you don't click the buttons.
