Character name: Naira Cross

Character Profile: Naira Cross is not a girl of intimidating stature but don’t let that fool you. Taking advantage of the fact that most perceive her not to be dangerous, she learns what she needs to know in order to make her victims feel comfortable and gain their trust, and then she exploits it. After all of her years on the street she has become a very self-reliant and developed a ‘go with the flow’ sort of attitude. She has a quiet demeanor but catch her on a bad day and you’ll be likely to leave with a few scars, at the least. Naira’s personality is based on the harsh truth that she has always had to depend on herself. If no one else was going to watch out for her, then she’d just have to do it alone.

Character History: Growing up in more than a dozen homes at first, then having no home at all, it’s easy to see that Naira Cross has not had a normal childhood. She was left on the doorstep of a church, on the planet of Corellia, when she was around the age of one and stayed until she was 14. According to the church, her mother was not the nicest of people, and her father, even worse. Her father, a man known only as Cain, abandoned Naira’s mother when he learned about the pregnancy fearing that it would ruin his reputation and his marriage to his current wife. Naira’s mother whose name is not known didn’t want anything to do with her and stopped by the church to leave her there. Before she could leave undetected, a priest spotted her and tried to get as much information form her as he possible could. She explained about Cain and about how he left her so he could salvage his dwindling career and relationship with his wife. Letting slip that he was a politician of sorts, she began to become nervous and refused to give her name out of fear for herself. Getting nothing more than that, the priest tried to invite the mother inside to put her more at east, but she got scared and left.

Having been christened ‘Naira’, ‘one with big eyes’, the church began by educating her remedially and then went about the task of trying to find a home for her. The problem, they came to fine out was not finding a home, but keeping her there. All of the interested would-be parents all described her as ‘innocent’ and in a sense ‘naïve’, but that was hardly the case. Almost every foster home that she was placed in took her back with in months complaining of her picking fights, her disappearing for days at a time then showing back up with out anyone noticing, her attitude, and her basically just too much for them to handle. Even at such a young age, she was good at what she did. The ones that did keep her for longer periods of time were the homes that she was abused in and then taken back out of jealousy. This continued until she was around eight. From then on, until she was around 14 she lived in the church, and got a surprisingly better education (whenever she actually went) than she would have gotten outside living with a family. Seeing that she couldn’t depend on anyone else to help her leave the church, she knew that it was up to her if she ever wanted to leave.

While on the street, she perfected her talents of being able to go unnoticed and her fighting skills, the thing that she loved to do that most. She even pick up a few new tricks from people who were able to hold her attention long enough while still remaining on her good side. The people who taught her how to fight also mention the Sith. Being no stranger to that word, she knew that they were a force to be reckoned with. Now 20, she know that the streets hold no more secrets for her, and her way of life is slowly becoming comfortable and familiar. She went in search of the Sith hoping for a challenge, to learn more things, and to become better and faster at what she loved to do.

Character Motivations: Her motivation is that she knows how powerful the Sith are. Their power and skills are legendary and she wishes to learn from the best. Her thrill for the fight is what motivates her and the only place to find a fight worth anything anymore is with the Sith. Let alone the fact that they’re the only ones who know anything.

Character Skills: Skilled in various forms of basic combat due to the fact that who ever was teaching her didn’t stay around long, whether it be because they ended up dead or ran away to avoid being killed. She also is skilled in ways to disappear and as a thief. Using slide of hand to ‘acquire’ certain items that maybe of use to her later on, then leaving with her new found item and without a trace.

Why should we accept you: Her world is becoming comfortable and familiar. The whole basis of her leaving the church and becoming who she is is disappearing. She knows that there is only so much to be learned on the street. With out the help of the Sith, she would not be at her full potential, and what’s worse is that she would know it as well. And while she doesn’t trust most people, those that she does, have her talents to use at their discretion.
