View Full Version : OT Trilogy on DVD - Suprises

I posted about this in the big thread we had here, but I never got my screenshots up to prove it. Well, now I have the proof, and it ain't pretty. The Big G-L has sold out again, with adding a Gungan to the famous Cantina scene in A New Hope.
Not only is this impractical, as Gungans will dry out in the desert heat and would have to keep wasting water by pouring it on themselves (or investing in full body lip balm), it is also insulting to us, the fans. Once again George does something just for the sake of DOING it. Special effects for the sake of special effects doesn't do anything to move the story along. Not only is this latest addition annoying, it's also unecessary.
Here's my screen shots, see if you can make out the gungan. It's not on for long - which is why most people have missed this. I was watching the DVD frame by frame to get some cool shots of the cantina creatures and that's how I caught it.

And if you look closely at ESB you can see a Gun Gun at Echo Base. He's running after Treat Williams screaming; "Messa want ice cream!"

Yeah - that was my idea. Sorry about that. I made the suggestion to Lucas and even wrote the line for him...so it's all my bad.

Are you *gasp* supershadow :lol
J/K - I didn't mean to offend... If you were really him, you'd have also thrown in what an idiot GL is and how you are ultimate overlord of the universe...

Yeah, something like that! Sometimes I like to help a struggling writer/director out, but it doesn't always work out. Oh well.

Oh crap. I never noticed that.
I hate gungans, but I guess as long as they aren't in the way and in the background, I guess it doesn't affect me too much.

I heard the next Special Special Editions are going to include Jar Jar as an older Gungan in ANH - they're adding in the disolution of the Senate as a new scene..

I heard that they were going to add him to an Alderaan scene before it gets annihilated, that, or at the end of RotJ they'd cut to a short shot of him. The dissolution of the senate is something I've heard about too. Though I imagine it's far too early to start speculating on new scenes. I don't think we'll hear about those until after the tv shows get off the ground.

Yeah I thought maybe Alderaan because Lucas wants to show him being blown up, because he knows Jar Jar was a bad idea.

Suuuure it isn't....
I'm pretty sure now that we've met Organa and seen part of Alderaan he will want to give a more 'personal' look at its destruction.

I heard that Jar Jar was going to appear as a ghost next to Anakin at the end of RotJ -- and he's the only ghost with a line: "Obi, Ani, what mesa doin here?"

That would be fitting wouldn't it. One of GL's 'whimsical' additions!

Never EVER say that again. Oh the horror. :x

As long as Luke doesn't reply with a 'Hi Uncle Jar Jar.' then it may not be so bad.
Just kidding.

Nice EB... :lol
Didn't they change the dialogue to that scene too? "So Be it... Jedi... * Blubbery sound ala Boss Nass *"

If that really were the Emperor, then cotton candy would replace the dark side lightning. Please make it stop.
