I had an application here but I have decided I want to develop the character a bit more before he joins the Empire. I still plan on his eventual joining, so I left this thread here so I could post the application again later.

The Empire no longer accepts forcers? I was under the impression from this thread (http://www.sw-fans.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39493) that forcers were permitted, under certain conditions.

The main reason I want to wait is because I'm currently in a thread with some people who don't want their characters dealing with the Empire just yeat, and have expressed this to me. Until this thread has ended, at least, I'm going to hold off on Gran's application to the Empire.

Yes - we do allow force users if they ate not considered a threat to the Empire. To be an Imperial Military officer requires no force talent.

Gran would of course be no threat to the Empire. He holds the upmost respect for the Empire and has dreamed of becoming a member for years. I'll post his full application info and short bio later, when I'm ready to put him into service.

And I realize force powers are not required. Just something I wanted this character to have - sort of the Darth Vader approach to the Empire, but varied a bit. Besides, right now all he can do is make small objects float - he's using the title of Sith Lord as more of an intimidation factor than an actuality. He thinks he's the only forcer in the galaxy :lol.

-Gran is a melee combat specialist, and is somewhat proficient in most forms of melee weaponry. He has some command of the Dark Side, though he has no formal training and his skills are menial at best. He doesn't realize this, of course, and has proclaimed himself a Sith Lord, though he lacks the force skills to prove this claim. He does, however, possess very good leadership skills, par the Empire's standards (commanding by fear of punishment, etc.)

*Were your parents killed by rebels?
-No.

*If so, do you seek to avenge their deaths?
-N/A, but killing rebels is a plus anyway.

*Do you possess good spelling and grammatical skills?
-Very, IMO. I'm a stickler for those things when I'm writing.

*There's a battle going on. Is your role in this battle
1) the guy on the ground with the blaster and/or Imperial walker
2) the guy in the starfighter
3) the guy on the bridge of a star destroyer giving orders
4) the guy sitting in a throne room behind the scenes and ominously cackling "all is proceeding as I have foreseen!"
-Not really any of those to the tee... kind of a Darth Vader role - takes command when on Starships, but also leads ground missions.

*Why do you want to be an Imperial?
-From a young age, Gran has admired the Imperial Military for their ruthlessness and efficiency in combat, and has long aspired to become one. He watched from afar as the Empire was founded, took pride in the fact that the galaxy had finally been united under so powerful and wise a leader as Palpetine, and was very proud when his homeworld, Taloraan, became one of the Empire's premier suppliers of Tibanna Gas. He became very ambitious about joining the Military, and was only weeks from submitting his application when he was injured very severely during a battle between the Empire and the Rebellion on Taloraan. The rebellion had obviously been the aggressor in the battle, so Gran excused the Empire's actions, even though those actions were ultimately the cause of his injuries. Unfortunately, the wounds severely disfigured him, and it was several years before he was able to function normally again. He wears heavy armor, a face mask, and a hood to hide his disfigurement - as well as for the aid it offers in combat. He has since been rigorously training, especially after discovering a minuscule affinity to the Force, to become an officer the Empire would allow into their ranks, despite his lingering disfigurement. Now, having risen to proficiency in combat, he feels himself sufficient for basic Imperial training.

*Being an Imperial means that you may have to follow an order which could result in the deaths of millions. Do you have any objection to this?

The Imperial Armed Services has had enough iof Vader types - if he were to be come that and as such as minion of Seven IC he would be hated throughout the Empire. However, if he were to use his force powers in private and concen trate on military matters than we would have no problem.

Gran would be the Vader type in some ways, but in other ways he would not. While he would definately hold himself true to Khendon's orders, and those of his other superiors, he would also have a free mind - he would do what he thought best in any situation, unless specifically ordered not to. He would be less of a minion to Khendon, and more of a proper apprentice and partner - at least in his eyes. His Force powers would be used in battle generally, and not as often directed at his troops. His view on his subordinates would be similar to that of Grand Admiral Thrawn more than that of Vader - he wouldn't waste the life of an officer because of a mistake, but there would still be severe punishments in other ways. I seem to remember Thrawn once forcing an officer to watch as one of his subordinates was killed by Rukh, his noghri guard, and I would imagine that to be within Gran's realm of potential punishment. His punishments would be more mental than physical, and therefore more apt to solve problems.

He may perhaps use the Force to intimidate his officers, but he would not use it in the way Vader did. He's more of a tactition than Vader was, I suppose, but more of a warrior than Thrawn. A sort of hybrid of the two. That's the best way I can explain it aside from just rping for a while.

And Khendon... should we start an RP so Gran and Khendon can meet?

(I like the CT BTW... but I only mentioned Linux twice. :D)

Penguins are good to eat, indeed. A rare delicacy. Much better tasting than eating a window, and better for you, too. On top of that, penguins make you much faster than windows do, and they never make you sick or cause you to shut down unexpectedly, and, best of all, they are totally free most of the time. They even come with loads of free sides, though a few of them are not free. With the right sides, whether they be free or not, you can even eat the sides that go with windows too! The free ones are really hard to cook, though, and the windows sides still leave a bad aftertaste.

(For the record, I do not believe Linux to be the end-all be-all of the computing world. For the most part, it is more stable than Windows, and it uses far fewer resources, so it runs faster, but Windows has its perks as well. They are each good for different people - I just happen to find Linux more appealing. I still rely on Windows for a number of tasks. Thus, we can avoid arguments over operating systems, because they always come when I don't say this. Also, Karl, you brought this on yourself!)

You will have to rp with Khendon before you are given an IC title rank station and command. Khendon nis a far superior rper to myself in all matters of Force related anything so it will be he who judges your level of skill and appropriateness for specific tasks within the Empire.



Grand Admiral Thrawn had executed an incompetent officer who displayed palpabale inadequecy in the line of fire. He also promoted an officer who showed initivate and took action without specific orders to do so. The Empire of canon shows a system based on ambition and treachery. Desaria along with other officers are eliminating that system and installing one based on merit and actual worth, not who a person knows. It however, cannot hurt.

Well, the main ct pic for everyone usually stays the same, unless I have a moment of sheer brilliance and remake it. I sometimes add on to ct's though, like with the rank plates and other asundries.

Think unique identifiers. Just ask Teleran. I think he'd have a fit if I removed his 'Golden Wrench' ct.
