View Full Version : Have you ever been mistaken for a celebrity?

I had a rather amusing case of mistaken identity last night. I was in a club last night when some girl randomly tapped me on the shoulder and pulled me aside, asking if I was in the band McFly (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mcfly). People outside of the UK probably don't know who are they are. Basically, a four-piece pop group quite popular with teenage girls.

(the one on the far left is who she confused me with)

When she asked me if I was in the band, I – being drunk – just nodded and said yes, and she apparently believed me for a good few minutes before she noticed that I do in fact have breasts and no Y chromosome.

So there you go, there is my embarrassingly stupid story of being asked if I was famous. Has anyone else ever experienced anything similar?

I was apparently once a dead-ringer for the cover of Blue Bell Ice Cream fudge pops box. The guy on there was in a band or something. It was pretty stupid.

Also, some have said pictures of me reminded them of Jerry O'Connell, which is equally stupid.

I've only ever been a dead ringer for my avatar. It was funny how many non-Fans people I showed the picture to and people would go "Who did that picture of you with the 3D animation and stuff?"

That girl must have been pretty trashed, too, since you don't look a thing like that guy.

I don't really look like any one star in particular. I resemble Brad Pitt in Snatch when I forget to shave, however.

How drunk was she that she didn't notice you are a woman? Unless this was one of your crossdressing nights you've never told us about.

I don't look like anyone. Someone once said Anna Paquin, but this was when I had my hair long and streaked in front so it doesn't count.

Very? :lol I think it was the hairstyle that threw her a bit, it's very vaguely similar.

Yea, I was mistaken for Fred Savage once.... And also, When Pirates of the Caribean came out, more than one girl said that Orlando Bloom took my identity for that movie.

I don't look like any celebrities BUT I did meet Owen Wilson and Matt Dillon tonight :D Apparently Wilson's movie "The Big Bounce" was filmed at the house of Christian Riese Lassen, the artist whose gallery I work in, and they're good buddies. Lassen was in town and checking out the gallery with his horde of eighteen-year-old concubines, and Wilson and Dillon were with him (along with another Wilson brother... I believe his name was Chris--really nice guy). I said hi, and we talked for a bit about some cool local hangouts before they jetted off for one of Lassens "clothing optional" parties. It was pretty neat-o.

I wanted to ask for an autograph, but I think that's so cheesy... and Matt Dillon was kind of intimidating in the don't-talk-to-me-or-I'll-have-my-bodygaurds-pummel-you kind of way.

I have been, on many occassions, likened to Daid Hyde-Pierce, of NBC television fame as the brother of Dr. Frasier Crane. I disagree with this reference but it seems rather numerous.

S'Il agrees and continues to remind me of said resemblence.

Grrr....
