Best known for the Sound of Music, West Side Story and The Day the Earth Stood Still. Sound of Music was his best movie, IMO. Great filmmaker he will be missed :(

An amazing career. I didn't know that early in his career he was the editor on Citizen Kane.

Saw him at Comic Con 2 or 3 years ago publicizing the release of the director's cut of Star Trek: The Motion Picture on DVD...quite a gentleman, and quite a talent.
