I apologize to those who I am in threads in for my recent and extensive absence... I think solved the issue but any suggestions would be helpful.

This college has an annoying program called Clean Access Agent that "insures" the safety of our network. Sounds communist to me... Anyways, it forces your computer to install McAfee Virus protection. Which, IMO, blows in comparison to my previous AVG software and we can't have any filesharing programs or just about any other semi-sketchy program. So when it installed itself into my computer, more or less without my permission, it shut down my computer and gave me a message told me it was more or less doing me a favor.

BLAH.

Two and a half weeks later...

I've got it running through a hub now. My connection speed is amazing but the Clean Access Agent slows my computer down as it scans over every website I go into... Any suggestions on how to get around this thing? I'm willing to do just about anything to insure some internet peace and quiet.

Well, I have one idea, but it's a bit extensive. If you know .Net, I do believe there's an easy way to write your own browser. I'm not sure how that agent works, but it may only be able to scan what it knows as a browser. If you make your own, it may not recognize it.

And .Net has free compilers on the net, as well as (I'm sure) examples of how to make one of them. Worth a shot, maybe.
