Has anyone seen this? The commercials of course play up the adorable baby pengiun angle but being a documentary its obviously not all cute and fuzzy.
Just curious how it plays out for those who have seen it.

I had a friend who saw it and he told me it's dire. :\

How riveting can penguins really be?
EDIT: Unless there are polar bears, orcas, and leopard seals up in this mug :cool

I dunno, Animal Planet and National Geographic are probably 2 of my favorite stations on TV. He went to it thinking penguins would be :cool and came out telling me to avoid it at all costs, so I have no idea.

That was kind of my thought but I wasn't sure. The website synopsis says it covers the journey of the adult penguins to their breeding grounds, then the mailes wait and the females walk to the water to get food and come back, they switch, the males walk to the water and come back, rinse repeat.
It seems to be doing well though, 2nd highest grossing documentary.

Feathery torpedoes are awesome, but from what a mutual friend has told me I don't think I'm gonna go see it. :(

Just saw this tonight; amazing! I had no idea that penguins were so fascinating--they are one tough bunch! The footage is absolutely incredible... and it wasn't the usual cutesy-moments-framed-by-harsh-reality animal doc.
A warning though, if you cry at love stories--bring tissue.
