Who here has time on their hands or needs someone to rp with/against? I am wholly interested in doing an rp against a live person for a change as I have extensive experience against npcs. Anyone - -let me know and I will work asround your character - - it does not have to be a naval engagement. I can thing of a story for any character.

So, if you feel like you are ready to take on the Empire, let me know.

Hey, Telan. I'd be willing to (finally!) RP with you, but I'd like to give the other NR members a chance. We've had quite a few new recruits, and they definitely deserve the chance to 'stretch their legs', so to speak. :)

It's been a busy week for me IRL so I haven't had the chance to start anything of my own, or the thread I've discussed Trevor D'ran.

However I'd be interested in participating in something. Though given the type of character I have in mind for Arthur I'm not sure I would be the best person to base a storyline around.

Though if I can participate in a thread with a secondary storyline that supports whatever the main storyline is I would be interested in that.

Why not have more than one Alliance member join? Maybe not a full fledged army, but two or three members that will actually keep up the post count.

That way lower ranking officers can take part. *hint*

Lion - care to lead a man on man thread with a few of your younger officers in support??? We have not rped together since the conquest of Bestine and that sort of faded with the reset.

I would be honoured to defeat you...

Don’t be so certain of victory, Admiral. I wouldn’t want that trite flaw to be your downfall.

Grand Admiral, young one - -Grand Admiral.

Lion El' Jonson

Sounds good, Telan. I'll be there for your downfall. :D

...or mine. ^_^;

Grand Admiral? Just means you have more men to lose under your command.

If Lion approves, count me in.

Telan Desaria
Jul 31st, 2005, 07:48:16 PM
Excellent - -Lion, any ideas? Since you are the Rebel, I will give you scenario set-up rights for this one. Can be npc vs npc if you wish

Lion El' Jonson
Aug 2nd, 2005, 12:23:59 PM
Well, I don't want to dominate this scenario set-up, since my ideas tend to suck. ^_^;

The best I can do is lay out our current situation: the Empire is still powerful; the Alliance is garnering support, but suffered a stalemate/loss at the Battle of Endor. Most of our fleet is still retreating to lick its wounds, so the majority of our offensive operations consist of small forces conducting convoy raids or escort missions for our own freighters. Lion and most of Alliance HighCom is located in or enroute to a top-secret meeting place in Wild Space, where we'll be discussing what to do after our withdrawal from Endor.

Constantine, I'd be glad to have you in this RP, if Telan has no objections. Likewise, anybody interested should toss their name into the ring. :D

Telan Desaria
Aug 2nd, 2005, 12:31:29 PM
No objections register here.

What say you to the following: an Imperial task force that has received orders from command to investigate a Rebel presence in the Maori Sector/border of the Corporate Sector. The Imperial force that is sent is very small and, having spies inside High Command on Coruscant, the Rebels know we are coming. As such, they decide to pounce on the Imperials.

Task Force - one aged Victory II-class Star Destroyer; six new fast-attack gunships ** r/d to follow in Imp forums.**

The Rebels commence their attacks. And from there....we let things run their course....

Thoughts???

Hmm, we should discuss tactics in private. As in, away from wicked Imperial eyes.

I already have some 'classic' ideas.

I'd be up for doing some fleeting once I get back from vacation. (about two week from now). I need to get Teleran active in at least one thread.

Excellent, ypou can join when you return.

Lion - -begin when ready.

Lion El' Jonson
Aug 3rd, 2005, 10:47:57 AM
Thanks, Telan. Wonderful idea, I'll begin this thread whenever you'd like. Would you like me to set up a classic ambush, with our forces waiting for you at the likely Lagrange Point to jump you when you exit hyperspace?

I don't want to make the first post until I'm sure I won't force this RP upside down and backwards. :lol

All Alliance Forces interested in taking part in this RP, I've set up a Strategy Discussion in Alliance Command...away from evil Imperial Eyes. ^_^;

We can set it up with my force arriving - just post your presence
I will arrive with my men (npc, Desaria wont be there) moving towards the foirst planet they see...

Since this is going to be near the edge of Wild Space, it would be Rothana or some such thing. Post at your leisure and I will follow suit. Planet choice also yours.

My force - -one VSD -c ommand ship

6 Naares-class Gunships - - see the Imperial R and D forums

Great, Telan. I'll post as soon as possible.

Arthur, Constantine, sorry about that! I edited your access masks; you should have access now. ^_^;

I'm having some problems trying to think up a reason for an Intelligence operative to be a part of this...

Telan Desaria
Aug 4th, 2005, 03:10:51 PM
All ships have IIas - - (Imperial-German general Staff System) Chief Intelligence Officer. You can npc the chief Intel officer of the Rebel ship

Seren Irreantum
Aug 4th, 2005, 11:06:34 PM
Hmm. That might work. Thanks, Telan.

We're hammering some stuff out in the hidden forum, so it looks like I'm officially in.

Have fun, puppies. If there's anything you want changed, just name it, and it's done. I decided on a Light Cruiser and two Nebulon-B's, which gives us approximately equal firepower vs. that VicStar of yours, Telan; the Gunships will be actively involved in the fight, the Corvettes will be hanging back as they're commanded by Intelligence personnel.

The only thing I'm truly concerned about is the tremendous mismatch in terms of starfighters that we have: Our 5 squadrons vs. your 2. Perhaps I can arrange for a hangar-door malfunction on one of the frigates to even the odds a bit. ^_^;

Khendon Sevon
Aug 5th, 2005, 09:56:03 AM
I'm sure Telan will be fine with his 2 squadrons v. your 5 :) I can't wait to see this thing happen, should be an interesting read.

MC-40? Can I get a design on it? Or is it a regular Cal ship? Either way, can I have a length and a forcecomparison to something in the Imperial arsenal.

Lion El' Jonson
Aug 5th, 2005, 09:28:16 PM
The MC-40 was introduced in the X-Wing series of games, although George Lucas apparently intended to include them in a space-battle during Empire Strikes Back that never materialized. They are light cruisers, built in the same fashion as the larger MC-80s but on a smaller scale. I dug up these stats, which are (I believe) from West End Games.

MC-40 Light Star Cruiser
Rebel Alliance

Combat Designation: Light Cruiser
Length: 500 meters
Crew: 3723
Astromechs: 36
Troops/Passengers: 650
Consumables: 1 Year
Sensors: 12
Jammers: 0
Shields: 2100 SBD
Shield Recharge Rate: 160 SBD Per Turn
Hull: 1200 RU
Ionic Capacity: 860 INR
Maneuver: 24 DPF / 20 DPF
Sublight: 75 MGLT / 700 KPH
Hyperdrive: 1
Weaponry:
- 20 Double Turbolasers
- 15 Heavy Ion Cannons
- 10 Medium Laser Cannons
- 4 Tractor Beam Projectors
Docking and Cargo Space:
- 5 Shuttlecraft
- 12 Starfighters
- 8 Ground Vehicles
- 20,000 Metric Tons Cargo
Special Features:
- Atmospheric
- Landing
- Buoyant
Fighter Launch Rate: 6 fighters per turn
Cost: 16,587,000 Credits

They're used as flagships for small taskforces, or to guard the flanks of larger Calamari cruisers. They are comparable to a Carrack-class Cruiser, although they trade firepower for heavier shielding and backups (a trademark of most Mon Calamari designs).

Telan Desaria
Aug 5th, 2005, 11:08:15 PM
Ah...so a light firepower but hard to destroy frigate.

Lion El' Jonson
Aug 6th, 2005, 12:46:55 AM
Yes, in truth it should probably be a frigate, but the Mon Cals have traditionally used "cruiser" in everything they build, from Light Cruisers and Star Cruisers (smaller vessels) to Heavy Cruisers and Battle Cruisers. It makes everything a bit more complicated for the Alliance, but the Mon Cals appear to understand it just fine. :lol

Telan Desaria
Aug 6th, 2005, 03:42:14 PM
Fish enjoy cruiser - -I would imagine on an IC level it reminds them of crusing Mon Cal's waves.

Lion El' Jonson
Aug 6th, 2005, 09:20:28 PM
Well, you have to remember that our MC-80s used to be the spacefaring equivalents of cruise ships. :lol

I'll be ready to jump in on the next one. For the reset, I brought Teleran's rank down to commodore and he is in command of the 12th Light Squadron. Which means there are a lot of light cruisers or smaller vessels, no destroyers.

Gods I miss my Aurora SDs:grumble. I had a ton of fun beating the pulp out of Reshmar and Lion with them.:D
