What is this swear filter? I'm sorry I don't already really know about it, but what words can we say and what words can't we say? I didn't know anything about that, could someone please give me some info here. . .did I do something bad by saying the explicative for pee? I mean, isn't this a PG-13 forum really anyways? Nothing offensive meant by it, just curious. . .

It's PG at least on the main boards. In the individual boards (i.e. Jedi, Sith, Imperials, etc), the filters are different. But we still try not to go to extremes on those boards none the less.

No, the filter was implented to stop people from setting off formerly ***** in posts, mostly in the RP section and for flaming/bating posters in OOC threads. It was really bad and Ogre finally had enough of seeing people swear like sailors on the board and made the rule

If you honestly think Charley did his post for any the above .. well, I have no comeback for it

Honestly though, I think locking a thread is a bit extreme, expecially since the word is censored anyway. Now for repeated violations, you got yourself a good reason.

That isn't the point. It encourages people to continue to swear and the staff doesn't find it appropriate for an all ages board. Therefore no tripping of the filter unless you want to be warned. Period

Not sure I follow what you said there, Nav. But anyway, I re-read the faq regarding swearing and its what I thought.

I was just worried for a minute there that if the post wasnt edited, the thread would eventually get locked. Which isnt the case, as I understand it.

Sometimes there's a train wreck and no matter how bad it is, you just have to look in horror and even tho you do your best, you cant tear your eyes away.
