Um, I guess I've never done one of these before...so, to make up for it, I will unleash upon you all the single most bizarre pic you've ever seen...

This is at college (I just finished my freshman year ^_^), right before Christmas. The dorms all compete for "Best Decorations" in, like, four hundred categories, and we didn't win any of them, but we should have. We did Whoville, or tried. That's awesome - we used to have a decoration contest every Halloween in our dorms. One year we did The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe - it was pretty awesome when we got done with it.

I know it's been awhile since I've posted anything cool or RP-ish and no one's really clamoring for my picture, but this year has seen one day I'm especially proud of and I'd like to share it a little. This day was back in May, and although technically this wasn't finalized until August 21st I was still very glad to have this day arrive and take part in it.

If you have a sharp eye, you'll spot the running shoes my dad is sporting in the above picture.

In the next pic I was being goofy and had strung the tassle from my cap over my ear. Ever the opportunist when it comes to taking pictures of her kids, my mom caught it on camera, only she didn't realize what I'd done until after she'd snapped the shot. It was (and still is) good for a laugh. My one complaint is that the cap screwed up my hair something fierce.

I already had a bit of a practice tidying it when we moved my desk. I'll just have to set aside a day or two and get some mighty big bin-bags to throw everything in.

Ahhhh... I remember living like that. Alone... No one to answer to if I didn't clean up my room.

Then I bought a house and had a kid... Now I scrub the baseboards with a toothbrush. Don't worry J -- it'll happen to you too, one day.

My housemates occasionally wander in and try to navigate their way through the chaos, but other than that you're right, I don't have anyone telling me to clean up. Mostly all the mess comes from me coming in late at night/early in the morning, either just finishing work or turning in after a night out. I can never be bothered to fold up my clothes etc in the wee hours of the morning, so they just go on the floor... and the cycle repeats.

In part it's also because I have never had a room of any substantial size. Before this, my bedroom was tiny so even a little clutter made it impossible to get in and out of. Now, I have so much space that it needs the mess to fill it up :mneh

my room used to look like Das' but then I did a big clean up and it's stayed clean since.....it used to be pile of clothes to my left, pile of paper and junk at the head and end of my bed, a junk pile under the table that used to hold up my tv and bunches of junk on my old now gone desk.....
