*Who are you?

Lamar Starworth

*Do you play any other characters on swfans.net who are affiliated with other groups? If so, please list them.

Nope

*Any special skills we should know about?

Great Reflexes
Engineer Specialist
Starship Crafter
Decent Marskman when he doesn't keep his eyes closed

*Were your parents killed by rebels?

No

*If so, do you seek to avenge their deaths?

N/A

*Do you possess good spelling and grammatical skills?

Yes.

*There's a battle going on. Is your role in this battle
1) the guy on the ground with the blaster and/or Imperial walker

*Why do you want to be an Imperial?

OOC: I think it'll be an interesting twist on my character, as well as it will be interesting pariticipating in some great RPing in a group. I dont think Stormtroopers are potrayed at all in character, though I know another person seems to have a stormtrooper out there.

IC: My father and faith in the Empire. They deserve to be protected. Killing Imperial citizens is wrong.

Also, they pay better than the Rebellion. Hehe

*Being an Imperial means that you may have to follow an order which could result in the deaths of millions. Do you have any objection to this?

If it benefits billions of Imperial Citizens, yes, but if it doesn't..I object.

*You observe a loved one doing something or planning to do something which could be construed as anti-Imperial. What do you do?

They wouldn't do anything like that. If they did...I guess I'd have to handle them.

*Do you swear allegiance to the Empire, and to abide by the guiding principles that the Emperor put down, and do you further swear to combat the rebellion and all other enemies of the empire?

Yes. Yes, I do.

Do I understand correctly that you wish to RP a stormtrooper? Because your avatar doesn't really look like Jango Fett. Could you RP an officer in command of stormtroopers? That, or change your avatar to better approximate the appearance of someone who's a clone of Jango Fett?

Also, please don't use "kekekeke" IC. They're star wars characters, not Koreans involved in a heated game of Starcraft.

Also, you posted a while ago that you wanted this character to be a member of the Bounty Hunters' Guild, as well as part of the Empire. That's something of a conflict. Do you still intend for this character to be a member of the Bounty Hunters' Guild?

Other than those three things, I like the cut of your jib.

In the "Emperor's Black Bones!" thread in Star Wars Storytelling I sort of break all ties to the Bounty Hunter Guild. I'll have to edit that post and update it or something.

In that case, welcome to the Empire, Trooper. You'll start out as a Private.

We still haven't gotten around to making a training thread for ground soldiers, but hopefully I can get that rectified tomorrow or so.

I may assign you to the Star Destroyer Invictus. How do you feel about participating in an RP where the Empire raids Mon Calamari?

Kill some fishy? No problem there.

My sentiments exactly!

So when does this start?

This thread is already in progress. No stormtroopers look like Janga Fett anymore- -there are no clones used in Imperial serivce to date (accept for those of higher rnaking officers- - and that is ludicrously rrare.)

Lamar: the thread starts when Rogue Squadron and Shadow Squadron are ready to participate. Until then, we wait. Also, do you think Starworth could have more of a military-looking haircut?

Telan: eh? it's not in progress. Also, give me one piece of evidence from the films to back up your assertion that stormtroopers aren't clones.

In the original trilogy, some troopers appear to have vocal and height differences (notwithstanding Princess Leia's "a little short for a storm trooper" comment to Luke in Episode IV). This is because the clone stormtroopers of this era are grown using the DNA of multiple hosts. The Star Wars Expanded Universe also shows the Stormtrooper Corps is a mixture of clones and recruits, the latter of which are trained on the planet Carida.

Also: Starworth and I have worked out over PM that his character will be a recruited human stormtrooper rather than a clone.

Hehe, I dont know if I'd have Lamar change his hair. The reason why I picked the avatar was because he had braids because it was suppose to be some culturally accepted thing within his family. I dont think he'd cut it off, especially since his father is the biggest reason why he is joining the Empire.

It'll be rare when he is on-duty that you'll even seen he hair anyways.

And from my understanding there was a "mix" of human and clones.

oh ok, well it's a different story if you've got that kinda explanation for it :thumbup

Following the collapse of the Empire at Endor, stormtroopers were an increasingly rare sight in the galaxy. It was not until Grand Admiral Thrawn procured a working set of Spaarti cloning cylinders that the Imperial ranks of stormtroopers began to be replenished.

So what should I do now?

Telan Desaria
Jul 20th, 2005, 11:14:54 AM
I would suggest creating an introductiry story arch - something that explains your rise and reason and joining the Empire. Nothing too long but something to be posted in the general rp forum that makes yourself known.

Viscera - -I had assumed that is what we would do. Making them a mix I like - I simply cannot stand the idea of having an army of clones. Hence why Desaria doesnt use his.

I've already done the rise and reason, at least I think so, and dont know what to do at this point. What should I do?

I've read that, but right now I was thinking what sort of limitations do I have as a stormtrooper. I was reading in the other recruit/registration that there would be some sort of limits on the type of character I could develop. Is that true and what are they?

Also, what is an Executor? I'm not thinking of switching up, take to much revamping, just simply trying to get a better understanding of the Empire.

I have no idea what limitations you're referring to. Could you elaborate?

An Executor is one of the Emperor's most trusted minions. Following the death of Emperor Palpatine again in IY29 (see Dark Empire), Executor Sedriss took command of the Empire and executed Operation Shadow Hand. In the case of Executor Sedriss, rankwise, he was something of a Regent, that is, temporary head of state in the absence of the Emperor. In the case of Executor Sevon, in terms of the current de facto power structure of the Empire, he would be unable to exercise the same level of power as Executor Sedriss, simply because there are so many as of yet un-assassinated members of the Secret Order of the Emperor.

Just the sort of limitations as to what my character could do? Maybe it isn't coming aross clear because I'm not even clear on what he meant by the whole stormtrooper statement.

If your playing a stormtrooper your basically going to be playing the part of a soldier in the Empire. The Empire uses its soldiers alot:p and for a lot of different things.

Eventually if you stick with it long enough you could make General. If you want to change directions thats fine. Theres no limitations here.

Oh okay, just wanted to make sure.

Also, would it be okay that my Trooper armor was different than the others. It's for a justified (written) reason. My character, like others in the Basic Training (I may have to rewrite it and making it on Caridia to make it move smooth) were awarded different armor because their specialitiy led them to a certain field of trooper work.

Sort of like Manga Cum Laude.

I dont know if this would be okay, it's not a big thing, but it is something I had in mind.

How exactly would one come up rank?

Darth Viscera
Jul 23rd, 2005, 04:39:22 AM
Considering that you're a private ATM, each battle you participate in should justify a promotion, in my eyes, basically. Something like that. If you were a higher rank, it'd be a whole different set of rules.

Khendon Sevon

Though, higher ranks are harder to attain. For example, a specific number of campaigns will not guarantee you the rank of General. That would require multiple individuals feeling that you have achieved a level of writing/creativity/military ability that warrants such a rank.

I'd say it's basically up to Visc and myself to promote to the higher ranks (read: General, so forth). At least, that's the way I see it. There aren't really any more senior TGE members here.

What is the training thread for ground soilders for? I know there is another one out there, seeing how K.N was just recruited too. At least I think so.
