Shady past and future

[Anna Darel]

“I’m sorry Anna, I am so sorry…” those were the last words Anna had heard her brother say before he past away from a blaster wound to the chest. Anna heard the word’s repeat over and over in her head as she sat at the back table of one of Coruscant’s finer cantinas.

Anna’s face rests in her hand as she stares at the table’s glassy center. Wisps of her dirty blonde hair have fallen into her face covering her eyes slightly. As the broken record of words continue to replay in her head she absent-mindedly orders another round of Corellian whiskey, her deep brown eyes already glazed over by earlier drinks.

While waiting, Anna moves her hands down the front of her black tank top gently smoothing out the fine fabric. Feeling a bit uncomfortable from sitting so long, Anna adjusts her long white pants so that they completely cover her common chocolate brown boots.

When her newer drinks arrive, she moves her left hand to grab the first out of four drinks. Raising the small glass to take a sip of her drink, Anna notices a darkened figure in the far corner of the cantina.

The figure leaned into the light - dark hair getting brushed back with one hand while the other cupped his near-empty glass. The young man raised his glass as she caught his eye and smiled.

Anna stiffened as the stranger's eyes met hers. The stranger looked young but strangley mature at the same time. He pushed his hair aside which revealed the most charming face Anna had ever seen.

Anna tensed even more when the man smiled and lifted his glass to her, all she could do was nod and smile weakly while taking a sip of her own Corellian whiskey.

He shook his head, lifting the glass to his lips and draining it. Kyashi rose from his own table, straightening his button-up shirt and dark jeans before approaching her table. He pulled a chair out, sitting down across from her, smile still in place.

Anna couldn't help but gaze at the young man as he walked over. As he began to sit down, Anna shifted uncomfortably.

When she settled herself, she looked up into his face which was still smiling at her.

"umm..." was the only thing that came to mind as the two stared at eachother.

He reached over, taking one of the four glasses of whiskey from in front of her. He took a small drink and sighed.

"You know, you shouldn't drink by yourself. It's not healthy."

Anna smirked at his comment.

"You should be talking...and I have my reasons for drinking" greif swept over her face as she remember her family.

With a tilt of his head, the whiskey was gone. The boy shrugged.

"Well, I was drinking water...Drinking won't make whatever feelings you're having go away. It merely covers up whatever feelings you're trying to run from, and leaves you feeling worse for wear the next day."

Anna smiled and brushed a few strands of hair from her face. He was correct about drinking, that it did help her in any case. Still drinking is part of her life since the last of her family died off.

"I suppose...you are right, but drinking is more habit than anything." Anna said flatly.

"mmm, I guess so."

He shrugged, picking up another glass and ordering yet another round from the passing waitress. Kyashi took another long drink, licking his lips.

"So, what's your story? Every alcoholic has one. What horrible fate has befallen you and causes you to seek the liquid cure?"

Anna set down her empty glass and just watched the young man in front of her drink.

When she him ask "What horrible fate has befallen you and causes you to seek the liquid cure?"

"Horrible fate..." Anna said with a slight smirk "Yeah, well for me it's not fate just bad luck. Mostly with family...I guess you could say."

He murmured in agreement into his glass before slamming it hard on the table. He laughed slightly as the waitress came and set their next round down.

"Family, eh? Families are trouble. They'll cause you nothing but pain and suffering." He leaned forward, resting his head on his hand, his hair falling into his eyes. A grin formed on his face as he took another glass. "I don't have that little problem anymore...You know, if you wanted to get rid of them, I could help you."

Anna raised her arms off the table in surprise when he slammed his glass down. She gave the man in front of her a questioning look when he mentioned families only causeing pain and suffering, she gave him a nod of approvel..

"Heh...well, my family seems to get themseleves killed, nothing worth living for i guess" Anna said deeply intimidating as she leaned forward looking into his eyes.

"Ah, I see. That would make my job all the more easier. "

He leaned closer, brushing a stray strand of hair from her face and tucking it gently behind her ear.

"So, you're the only one left?"

Anna turned bright red as his fingers brushed her face and pushed her hair back. She turned her face a little to the right trying to hind her embarrassment.

"Umm...yes I am, you see my brother died for me and..." she trailed off. Oh, no what was she doing, spilling her life to a stranger.

"Mmmhmm. That must have been hard for you." His voice was full of what seemed to be concern as he let his palm craddle her cheek, turning her face back to him. He smiled softly.

"Go on, you can tell me. Who knows - it might make you feel better."

Anna fought the urge to tell him everything, she battled in her mind wheter to trust him or not.

"I..I can't" she mumbled pulling herself from his gentle grip. Pushing back her chair, Anna stood up only to stumbled back down to her seat again from dizziness. Oh...no did she have to much to drink...

She didn't notice the subtle Force-pull that allowed the chair to move just slightly to catch her. Kyashi merely smiled, putting on an air of concern for her.

"Well, at least allow me to escort you home. You're in no condition to get there by yourself." He stood, taking her by the hand and helping her to her feet. "It's the least I can do, since you've allowed me to enjoy your charming company here."

"Escort....well alright, but I must warn you my home isn't anything fancy." Anna said with a timid smile, grasping his hand tighter as he pulled her up. Wait...did he say charming? Anna's face flushed again.

Anna led the way out of the cantina, bumping into other patrons on the way. Once outside she turned and headed left down a crowded street, setting an easy pace for the both of them.

He slipped an arm around her waist to steady her, trying to keep her walking in a straight line. He kept pace with her once they reached the street.

"So, have you been on Coruscant long?"

[Anna Darel]

She rested more into his shoulder. "Born and raised..." Anna laughed "Maybe they would be alive if they hadn't come here, but you can't change the past."

She led them past most of the main buildings and turned down a darkened ally.

"Too true."

Kyashi let her head rest on his shoulder, but paused as they entered the alleyway.

"Taking a short-cut? Are you sure? There are some pretty...unscruplous characters on this planet. Perhaps we should take another way?"

Anna looked from the man to the ally and back again. Confusion written all over her face.

"Alright, if you insist..."

She turned from the alley and headed back the way they were going. She knew of a few "unscrumplous characters" he spoke of...

"Damnit..."

His face winced for a split-second, then returned to a smile. He gave her a light hug. "Better safe then sorry. I'd hate for something to happen to you."

"...before I get the chance..." He thought quietly to himself, all the while smiling like a fool. Mentally he was kicking himself for not simply dragging her into the alley, or better yet, into some unoccupied building. He had never been paitent, but he would go through the paces with this one to ensure he got her in the end.

Anna and the young man most of the apartments and living quaters, but continued to walk straight through until they reached the end. Anna smiled "Only a little farther..." She went onward passed some warehouses.

She paused and turned left between two run down warehouses. "Like I said earlier my family is gone and my home is not fancy." She said as she stopped in front of a large metal door that led into her so called "home"

His hand pressed hard on the door, stopping her from opening it. His other hand turned her around, pressing harder into her shoulder, pinning her against it.

The young man who had been so kind and gentle with her now looked at her with a chesire grin. They were far away from anyone who could help her, and if she screamed, he could always drag her inside her own "home."

He grinned at her, leaning in close. His voice was soft, and he kept his mouth barely touching hers as he spoke. "So, this is your "home", eh? And since you're the only one who lives here...there won't be anyone around to stop me from doing whatever I want to you."

Anna cried out in pain as her body was slammed against the sliding metal door. Where is it? she thought. She raised her hand to push him away but he was obviously two times stronger that her.

"Don't..." Anna whimpered when he said. "...there won't be anyone around to stop me from doing whatever I want to you."

She knew what she had to do, but she didn't know how long she could play around with the guy.

Anna winced as his grip tightened around her, his voice seemed to crawl through her body and she began to tremble in fear.

His grip loosened, and he took a pace back. Kyashi rubbed his chin, laughing to himself as she stood there trembling.

"Now, what to do with you? Something special for such a charming young lady." He grabbed her arm tightly again, twisting it and pulling her away from the door. "Talking so much about your sweet dead little family. It makes me wonder, were they all as stupid as you are?"

He pushed her forward, letting her drop to the ground. His booted foot pressed down on the back of her neck. "You should be happy, I'm putting you out of your misery."

[Eidolon]

A single roving crimson ‘eye’ scanned across the two humans from the darkness of the Coruscant alley, silently observing the hopeless struggle the woman put up against larger male. The figure watched as the women slammed against the door of her home.

{Assessing situation…Male human assaulting female human…...female human status: distraught, unharmed.}

The red eye slow ran over both figures as the struggle continued.

In front of the house, the woman was thrown to the ground, the man keeping her pinned to the ground with a booted foot. For an instant, the roving crimson got a full view of the male’s face.

{…..Anomaly detected, accessing profile database…..match found…PRIORITY ALERT, wanted force-adept by the order Grand Inquisitor Tear...........Unit GWD-407 initiating Protocol C285}

GWD-407, dubbed “Eidolon” by the Inquisitoriate for it’s stealthy ghost-like tactics silently stepped into the faded light of an over head light. The Centurion droid was built to be intimidating, towering as tall, if not taller, than a full grown wookie and a heavily armored frame looking to be a cross between a humanoid being and an insect. Sound dampeners in the joints and armor-plated feet insured that the construct could move as silently as a wraith.

The hulking droid came to a stop, long multi-jointed fingers flexing in the darkness. From it’s masked vocabulator came a monotonous, emotionless voice typical of many droids.

“By the order of the Inquisition you are under arrest.”

Kyashi glanced over his shoulder, catching a glimpse of the droid in the shadows.

“By the order of the Inquisition you are under arrest.”

"Oh really?"

One swift kick sent the body of the girl across the alleyway as Kyashi turned to the voice. A bit of concentration, and a focused push of the darkside slammed into the left side of the droid. Then the right side, sending it back a few inches. The boy remained still, his body tense.

[Eidolon]

Eidolon torso twisted from first telekinetic attack, its sturdy frame absorbing the blow. The unexpected follow-up strike, though, threw the Centurion off-balance causing it to stumble back a step.

A low hum came from Eidolons fingers as sonic emitters in the droid’s fingers activated. Powerful servos flexed and the droid sprang forward, intent on closing the gap as quickly as it could.

A broad metal ‘shoulder’ slammed into Kyashi, pinning the adept against the side of the house. In a second flash of motion Eidolon’s vibro-claw fingers skewered the door-frame mere centimeters from his face, sparks flying from the metal-on-metal contact.

The droid lowered it’s head, the single visor-like optical sensor at Kyashi’s eye level.

“Resisting will not help you. You are under arrest." Eidolon reiterated.

Blood dripped from the corners of the boys' mouth as he spat into the droids "face". He shook his head.

"Nah, I don't think so. I should have known the Empire would send a droid to do a mans' job..." A grin lit across his lips. "So, if I resist, I guess I'll have to fight you, huh?"

[Anna Darel]

Anna rolled over in pain, she sat up to see a droid pinning the young man to her "home". With a smirk she crawled into the shadow's to watch in silence

[Eidolon]

Eidolon gave no reaction to the spittle running down his shiny faceplate. It just stood silently, its sensory eye constantly roving back and forth.

{Target showing overconfidence, fearlessness, scorn, aggression….analyzing best tactical solution……}

After several seconds processing, the droid spoke again in its monotonous voice.

“This need not end in hostilities, adept. Come willingly, work with the Inquisitoriate, and your record will be wiped clean.” Eidolon paused for a moment, and when it spoke again, the voice emerged as a low whisper, human, perfectly mimicking the voice of Grand Inquisitor Tear. “We can help you harness your abilities.”

In a flash, Eidolon grabbed Kyashi by the collar, throwing the adept across the street. As the boy struggled from the landing, the Centurion’s fore-arms rearranged into two powerful Gauss pistols.

The droid held its position, both guns leveled at the adept and still speaking in Tear’s voice. “Fight against us, and you’ll meet your end as the Jedi did.”

The boy visibly bristled at the sound of the Grand Inquistors' voice. He stayed on his knees, breathing hard and staring down the set of pistols the droid had leveled at him.

Part of him wanted to laugh at the Jedi comparision; part of him knew there really wasn't a chance for him to get out of this without some serious damage. As adept as he was, he wasn't going to be able to stop any shots the droid might fire if he resisted...

He shrugged. "Fine. If you guys want me so badly, take me."

[Eidolon]

Eidolon sat dormant, as if trying to verify that the adept was indeed surrendering. The droid had never come across a force-user before, but from most encounters with criminals and rebels, they rarely ever stayed put once the Centurion deactivated its weapons.

The heuristic processor housed within Eidolon’s armored frame had picked up on the fact rather quickly, and for the most part the droid had ‘learned’ to shoot instead of arrest.

With a mechanical whir, the gauss pistols folded back up into the armatures. Eidolon stepped forward, a compartment in the droid’s ‘thigh’ armor opened, revealing a pair of stun-cuffs.
