One year after the Jedi Purge, a small Jedi colony was founded on a backwater planet of Plawal. This was not to be the safely hidden colony of the Jedi Master Plett. No this was to be another similar, but smaller colony. There were only twenty-eight Jedi total and seventeen children. All of them were strong in the Force and new hopes to diminish the Sith that now ruled the galaxy. Their fortunes however, were to be quite different.
The small children all showed promise in the Jedi arts while ages ranged just one year of age to three standard years old and what a lively mix they were Humans, Bothans, Rodians, and a pair of Ho’Dins. They were all taught together in classes led by all of their parents. Life was peaceful and fun, until He came. Three years after the Jedi Purge, Darth Vader came across the colony and whiles the children’s parents fought bravely and gallantly, they were, in the end, overrun. The children however, survived the ordeal as Vader sensed the power in them. He took them aboard his ship and had them trained in the ways of the Sith. Together they grew in their power, relying on only themselves.
Their instructors to develop their Force powers were often Jedi who had chosen to fall to the darkside rather than die. Among them all stood a promising student by the name of Yurza. While he wasn’t the strongest of them, he was the brightest and quickest to learn. His hunger for more power was also something that set him aside from the others. While the others took years to change, Yurza, being the youngest, turned more quickly. As the years went by, he came to idolize Vader more so than the Emperor. While he admitted to himself that Palpatine was indeed the more cunning of the two, he preferred the show of brute force and power that Vader tended to use.
As he grew up and into his teens, he adapted the lightsaber style of Darth Vader. This proved useful as the young warriors were pitted against each other in fights to the death. Vader was determined to have only the strongest. Also he, and others, noticed that he had a large talent for illusions. While the rest focused to fine tuning their other Force powers, Yurza was determined to train his. Soon he came to the point of being able to fool Vader himself with simple little illusions, but anything larger than an average cup and he couldn’t do it. Shortly after his seventeenth birthday, Darth Vader announced that the remaining seven were worthy of the title of Sith Knight. From then on they were used as Generals in the war. Though he was sure he could end it if only he had met Skywalker, Yurza’s duties kept him on the outer rim were he learned a few things from Grand Admiral Thrawn before the Chiss Admiral was sent back into the Unknown Regions. He kept what he learned from the Grand Admiral and used it ruthlessly.
Vader kept a close eye on the young Sith, noting which ones succeeded and which ones died trying. A month before the Battle of Endor, Vader had the remaining three brought back to the Executor. There he had them put into cryo-stasis, fearing that they would pool their resources and try to overthrow himself and the Emperor.
During the battle however, once it was clear that the Rebel forces would win, the pods that the three Sith were in, were jettisoned from Vader’s ship where they crash landed on the forest moon. When Yurza awoke, he found the other two pods empty and no one near. He traveled around the forest for two days before being discovered dehydrated and delirious by Rebel forces. They took him aboard and put him in a bacta tank until he came to his senses. The Sith Knight became frightened and destroyed the tank holding him. He was able to escape the Rebel ship, were he fled to Coruscant only to learn of the Empire’s defeat.
Sick and broken from this news, Yurza left the city world and searched for his brethren, following rumors of Force users. It was these rumors that led him to the world of Corellia and then to Korriban. It was here that he joined the Sith Order to avenge Vader’s death and re-establish the Empire into his own making.
