Ip Switch was hungry. It was getting late and he had no money, as always. The last bit he had got swindled by a cheating Sabaac player named Gripple. He growled angrily. Ip diddnt like when people were dishonest. Especially when it cost him.
He dragged himself down the sidewalks of Corescant, hoping that some random wealthy civilian would walk by and give him food and a home. He knew better.
One man walked by and gave him a dirty look, and kept walking. Ip got up and started stalking the man. A chase down an alley later, he found himself eating out of dumpsters, scaring the other homeless people to no end. Ip never knew why people were afraid of him. Was it because he looked strange? He thought it was silly since all other people looked strange to him.
He hobbled into countless bars only to get kicked out. Hopelessly, he sat outside a bar whimpering. Next thing he knew, everything went black and his head hurt. He woke up in a bag, in some smelly cage surrounded by other strange things. Not people...animals. Dangerous ones...all were growling or hissing or clawing at his cage. Ip diddnt like it here.
There was a sign. He tried to make it out; "Gripples Arena: Where Its not only legal, its fun!" He diddnt know what Arena meant, but he knew Gripple. He grabbed his cards from a pocket. They were only pretty things to him, Ip had no real clue what they really were. Since they made him lose money, he tossed them at one of the angrier looking creatures. It snorted and growled. Ip just stared at it.
A door opened: a big pig looking thing grabbed Ip and threw him into a ring. There were high walls and lots of cheering people, and lots of smoke high up. Confusion fell on Ip.
"Who will be the next contender to fight this dangerous animal? Do we have a contestant? Step up and try your hand!"
Ip growled. Gripple. If he could get out of this hole, he could get to grip. Whats a contestant, he thought?
He stood there, and the door with the pig shut. The people went silent, Ip diddnt know why. He just looked around innocently. I wonder, he thought, if theres anything good to eat here...
