Unfortunately for Final Fantasy fans all over the world, Square Enix President Yoichi Wada stated after the demo's airing that it was meant for display purposes only and was not proof of an actual remake of the original game.

WRONG! IGN has an article saying there will be an English and Japanese release on September 14th, 2005. So not too much longer to wait. I know most of you don't beleive me, but here, go read.

And I seem to remember reading previously that it would be out in May. The release date has changed numerous times.

I beleive IGN, I think they're right. Maybe theres a different release for British shores. . .who knows, we'll just have to wait to see who's right. *slams five euro's on the table* I bet I'm right.

I'm not saying that IGN are wrong, just that AFAIK the release date has been changed numerous times by Square - so I wouldn't start getting excited too soon. As with anything, production could be stalled.

Release dates are pretty much just a means to hype something. With games, I never believe a release date until the game goes gold. Similarly, I wouldn't believe any release dates for this unless they were ~1 week away.
