OOC: This takes place in an underground pit-fighting club on Coruscant.

In the Lion's Den, a bottle of beer is like a mouthful of blood; warm, bitter and thick. There were no cold drinks here. Boxes full of cheap booze were stacked half-open behind a bar made of huge storage crates. Women with piercings in their ears, noses, lips, eyebrows, tongues, and chins served the alcohol while their male counterparts stalked the grounds with black truncheons in their hands.

"What can I getcha?" called a small girl, she smacked her crimson lips and adjusted a tiny leather skirt.

"Just an ale," a Zabrak hunched over the bar grunted. She didn't hear him but guessed correctly.

"Fueling up for the big fight, eh?" She said thickly through a mouthful of gum.

He looked up at her with his orange eyes and stared, his lips curled into a sneer. There was a scrape as he pulled the bottle towards him and several coins jingled against the bartop.

"What big fight?" He turned away from the bartender and leaned against the storage crate to watch two men pummel each other to a bloody pulp in a cage surrounded by drunken hooligans. The small girl then snatched up the coins and pocketed them before storming off to her colleague.

"You know, Lara, that Nyax guy is a total drenhead!"

Vice

Vice walked in the door. A smile quickly swept across his mouth as he saw the two individuals fight each other. He enjoyed the sight of evil. For that is what he had been for such a long time. He slowly walked toward the bar, his dark armor covering his body cathing everyones attention. He looked at the waiter.

''I'll take some Ale. Oh and leave the bottle.''

Vice sat next to Nyax as he waited for his drink.

''Hello do you live around here.?'' Vice said as he waited for a reply.

Nyax glanced across to the armour-clad man and considered him with disdain, slowly measuring him up from head to foot.

"And if I do?"

Vice
Jun 5th, 2005, 08:29:02 PM
''I was just trying to make conmversation.''

Can I find anybody without having to fight them Vice thought. I hope this guy isn't looking to fight because thats the last thing on my mind at the moment.

Nyax Imotep
Jun 5th, 2005, 08:34:38 PM
"Well, don't." Nyax replied, his eyes fixed on the fight.

He took a swig of beer then gave the stranger a second look, he stared at his armour and smirked.

"Nice costume. You aren't from around here, are you?"

Vice
Jun 5th, 2005, 08:49:19 PM
''Its not a costume, and know I am not from around here. I actually work for Black Sun but I am just traveling right know. You look familiar do I know from somewhere?''

Nyax Imotep
Jun 5th, 2005, 09:09:14 PM
"No, you don't," he snapped, suddenly standing upright. Then Nyax stared long and hard at Vice while he spoke.

"It is not smart to waltz around Coruscant throwing the name of the Black Sun all over the place. Even if it is rumoured to own this club."

He necked the remaining bottle contents and slammed it down on the bar. His arms folded tight against his chest and he huffed.

"I'm suprised you still have your head what with flapping your jaws like that."

Vice
Jun 5th, 2005, 09:17:32 PM
''And I am surprised I have past a smart ellick like you up without killing you but it is never to late. Lets go right know you horned freak. I will be looking forward to crushing such a thing as you. You may have the honor of making the first move.''

Vice made a fist and a ball of fire sprang into the air from his mechainichal glove.

Nyax laughed but kept his arms folded.

"That's very pretty and all but I have some real fighting to be getting on with soon in there."

He nodded at the cage.

"So, pack up your bag of cheap tricks before you get yourself thrown out, Tinman. And if you want a tip on making a little wager; when I fight, bet on me."

Vice
Jun 5th, 2005, 09:27:31 PM
''You are a good trash talker. If their is one thing I am going to do it certainly wont be getting kicked out of this place. Ill keep in mind to bet on you though if you make it to the cage before I make it to you.''

Nyax Imotep

Now Nyax turned to face him. His cocky demeanor was replaced with utter seriousness and he stared Vice in the eyes.

"What is your name, Tinman?"

Vice
Jun 7th, 2005, 10:18:01 PM
Vice looked at Nyax for a few moments and then replyed in a calm voice.

''My name is Vice. Yours?"

Usually Vice would be quicker to fight then not but in this case he was really sick of all the nonsense that he had been encountering in the past few months.

Nyax Imotep
Jun 7th, 2005, 10:33:46 PM
"Well Vice, I'm Nyax and if you really want to go a few rounds with me then we can take it outside... later."

He took a step back and pulled off his shirt, revealing a torso riddled with a maze of convoluted tattoos. He rolled his head and shook his arms loose.

"First, I have business."

His shirt was tossed onto the bartop and without giving Vice a second glance, Nyax strode through the crowd towards the cage.

Vice

Vice grinned then took a seat next to a tall bald man with scar running down his eye.

''You look like an intellegent man how about a little wager. I got 5,000 credits on the uh... thing over their with the shirt of.'' Vice laughed amongst himself.

''Okay I think Ill take you up on that bet.'' The bald man replied.''

Vice turned back and watched Nyax approach te cage.

Jak

The Piirate walked into the bar.THen he spotted Vice. Sitting there with his black armor. This pissed Jak off. He walked over to to him.

"Hey, punk. Where is my brother. Your supposed to be training him. You little piece of slime."

Jak's eyes narrowed. If this man killed Darth Jak would rip his body to pieces.

Anticipation was electric. The crowd was still throwing around money to place last minute bets or making adjustments. Many of the social elite were excited about this bout and why they had purchased tickets for tonight. Those that were not of such high status were still fired up to see a good fight. Hell, a Rodian became so riled up that he couldn't wait and started a fight of his own with a Trandoshan. It took two guards to break it up and much to the displeasure of the innocent Trandoshan, they both were dragged out of the arena.

Ironically, they would be thanking the Force for their good fortune.

With all the shouting, no one heard blaster fire coming down the three hallways that led down to the main area and bar. Surprise was on their side as Nyax's introduction was concluded and a company of Stormtroopers appeared like flies into the underground arena. The guards that were stupid enough to try and fight were stunned instantly. Patrons screamed and looked for escape, but Stormtroopers blocked all the exits. Two of them parted to allow three individuals entry, one woman and two military officers, a Major and Lieutenant respectfully.

The woman was the odd one. Dress in a royal blue suit, she looked as if she should be part of the Imperial Cabinet, save for the blaster snugged by her hip. Even through the chaos, her voice broke through the noise and was crystal clear. "By order of the Galactic Empire, this illegal underground sporting ring is now CLOSED. Cooperation with us is in your best interest, especially since we have proof the Rebels have been using this establishment for gun trafficking."

She held up the official documents for those nearest to see. The only detail made out by those across the room was the Imperial Symbol. Amongst protests and gasps of people recognizing who she was, Miranda Tarkin turned towards Major Tucker. "Major? Arrest them all. Use force if necessary and make sure to document who wasn't cooperating. It will help us to filter who are possible Rebel sympathizers and who are not."

He stepped alongside her and nodded, motioning for the Stormtroopers to begin the arrests.

Miranda looked at the place in disgust, mainly because of it being so barbaric. The workers, guards and a good portion of the cliental were undesirables. How members of her class got off on watching beings beat each other senseless and be near such trash, she would never understand.

Jak

Jak looked around he wasn't going back to the barracks. The Troopers would obviously remember him. Two troopers came over to him.

"Well, well look what we have here. Our old friend Jak."

The trooper used the butt of his gun to smack Jak in the face. Jak was too quick. He ducked the swing sending the trooper off balance. He drew his cutless and stabbed the other. Right between this collar.Pulling the weapon out he swung in a large arc slicing through the neck of the other one.

"No my dear friends you wont be taking me anywhere. I left because you scum are evil."

Jak looked around at all the Storm Troopers fighting all the rouges and drunks. Jak picked up his comm.

"To all crew members. This is your Captian speaking. I need assistance in the pit fighter arena. All crew members report to me. NOW!"

Jak put his comm away and drew his blaster. Holding both weapons in hand he waited for more troopers to come.

"Help! Get me out of here! Frell you! Frell you!" Nyax roared at his jailor as he disappeared into the fighting. He was imprisoned in the cage alone and stormtroopers were closing in on all sides. A stray blaster bolt singed his arm and he winced. Another barrage of blaster fire passed through the cage. Nyax dropped and crawled to the edge of the cage.

The metal mesh had been damaged by the Imperial troops and Nyax began pulling at it, tiwsting and ripping at the cage, hoping to free himself. His hands began to bleed. His attempts to rip the cage were futile.

"Black bones to you Imperial scrum!" He cried out, his voice drowned out by the chorus of screaming patrons being arressted or slaughtered. Defeated, he slumped down against the cage and waited.

Miranda and Major Tucker exchanged bored knowing looks after Jak's announcement. Tucker hit his comm to the rest of his men who were outside. A blockade had been put around the abandoned warehouse with a mile perimeter so no innocent civilians would be harmed in the raid. There were gawkers near the barricades but local police were keeping them from crossing the lines.

"Captain Ren. Keep tight and those eyes peeled. Expect scum arriving. If they do not surrender first, they are in direct violation of our jurisdiction. Use lethal force if necessary, but since we have civilians watching, make sure they fire first."

Understood Major. Ren out.

"YOU MEN!" Tucker barked out to the Troopers closest to Jak. "Arrest him now and quit stalling!!"

Some of the arrests were going smoothly. Most of the upper echilans of society were coming away quietly. They would probably pay their fine and be discharged once the paperwork was completed. Then again, considering how well they bribed, perhaps it wouldn't even stay on their squeaky clean records.

For those that resisted, jail time would be served or worse. Some were going to be going to the morgue in body bags for their families to identify them.

Miranda went back to watching the contained chaos. Keeping her eyes opened for ... Ah. There he was. Nyax. Perfect timing by Tarkin, as always. He was mostly unharmed and was surrounded. One Stormtrooper blasted the lock off the cage as four filed into the structure, pointing their rifles at the Zabrak.

A good while later after Jak fended off two more Troopers. An explosion was heard. Thirty pirates came into the Lion's den. They began fighting the Troopers. Jak quickly joined the scuffel. He was side by side with his first mate. They were shooting at troopers and finding gaps in the troopers armor. Jak had two troopers slain. His first mate also had two.A swarm of troopers over took most of Jak's men. He had few left. All the Black Skull pirates were not ready. Jak had to get out of here and meet the rest of his crew in space on the main ship. He saw his chance. Jak grabbed his first mate and poulled him out from the group. The headed to the explosion.
"Come on maty lets get our tails out of here."
They continued to run to the hole.

He knew it was coming but that hadn't made watching a quartet of armed stormtroopers marching into the cage any easier. For a moment, he stared up at them, still slouched against the cage, glaring with contempt. Jaw clenched, he stood slowly and walked into the centre of the troops. The hum of their weapons rang in his ears.

"Are you sure four is enough?" He snorted, then clasped his hands behind his head.

"After you."

OOC-Jak. You're still godmoding. Things are happening relatively fast in the thread and you keep failing to ignore things I've posted to set up the general scene, and have done so every time. Therefore I am ignoring your posts to keep the story going that has been set up.

IC - One of the Stormtroopers behind Nyax shoved him forward. He was led to a specific line of people who were cooperating with the arrest, which meant they were also under protection from those that weren't. There were still a few stragglers that were vainly trying to escape.

Miranda was walking alongside Major Tucker with a pair of Stormtroopers on either side and behind them. They were assessing the damage and casualties that continued to incur from the unfortunate mess. It was the likely scenario considering who most of the patrons were. Nor could Miranda blame them entirely. Some of them probably had a pretty cred on their head and for those that survived, the Empire would gladly collect on those bounties.

The bar had been shot up considerably. Scorch marks peppered the counter and wall where all the bottles had been blasted apart. Her noise curled at the low class stench of alcohol.

"You BITCH!!! Aarrgh. TARKIN WHORE!!! You'll pay for this!"

The outburst silenced everyone that heard it. Miranda's nostrils were now flared. Hazel eyes glared sideways to the man who 'addressed' her. Two Stormtroopers were struggling to carry away the obnoxious, scuffy looking scoundrel. He wasn't young, but by no means old either. There were lines of age present in his features since they certainly weren't of wisdom. The utter contempt he had of her was actually comical from a certain point of view. Problem for this fellow was, Miranda wasn't laughing.

Major Tucker looked aghast. "M'Lady. I'm terribly sorry for his lack of respect." He turned towards his men who were escorting the rabble away. "Silence him immediately!"

The sound of blaster fire so dangerously close caused Tucker to duck for cover, but he was not the intended target. The scoundrel, whoever he was, went limp in the Stormtroopers grasp, dead from the smoking black hole in his chest.

Slowly, Miranda lowered her blaster and spoke up since she had gotten everyone's attention again. "Trying to resist is pointless. Please do not be yet another example and cooperate with us willingly. It's a waste of our lives and yours if you continue to disregard a direct order.

For those that have been cooperating," She smiled at the line up of those under protection and being filed out as quickly as possible. "You're assistance is greatly appreciated."

"It's frelling easy to cooperate when staring down the barrel of an E-11." Nyax grunted, shoving away the hand of a stormtrooper with a jerk of his shoulder. He winced from the pain in his arm; the wound was still smoking.

"But I guess that's Imperial democracy for you, eh?" He called out to the woman recently identified as Tarkin by the dead man.

Miranda's smile never faltered. "It's not our fault that some choose to come away peacefully and others did not. We gave a choice and it's up to you to decide. Not us."

Nyax was shoved into line with the others behaving and finally it seemed the StormTroopers had everything under control.

"Make sure to sort them correctly, Major." She tugged on Tucker's collar and brought her lips to his ear to quietly emphasize their agreement. "And remember what we talked about with the prisoners."

A StormTrooper patted down Nyax and found his identicard. He handed it over to his superior, Lieutenant Kaal. His crossed reference Nyax Imotep with the Imperial database and found this prisoner very interesting.

"Well, well. Mr. Imotep. Aren't you of some fame being the son of Nym. The crimelord on Lok." His laugh held devious intent. "I bet your old man would pay good cred to get you out of prison."

With a flick of his wrist, the identicard was passed off to another StormTrooper assisting Kaal. "What do you think?" The Lieutenant's smile was sickening. Kaal was enjoying Nyax's displeasure greatly and gladly was rubbing his poor luck into the Zabrak's face.

"Hahahahahaha!" Nyax joined the officer in his celebrations, laughing along with him and the trooper by his side. He wrapped his arms around his stomach and buckled forward with laughter.

He stood upright suddenly, the carbine ripped from the stormtroopers grasp now cradled in his arms. He swung the weapon violently and made contact with the llieutenant's chin, immediatly after, he pulled the trigger once and put a large smoking hole in the troopers chest plate. The stormtrooper fell to the ground next to Kaal and Nyax snatched his airborne identification card out of the air and pocketed it.

And Nyax was off, sprinting for the nearest exit.

Miranda Tarkin
Jun 16th, 2005, 03:51:35 PM
There was one slight problem with Nyax's escape plan. He had forgotten about the StormTrooper that patted him down initially. The back end of a blaster rifle cracked against the Zabrak's temple.

Miranda merely sighed while holding her head, "Stupid alien."

Sting
Jun 17th, 2005, 12:47:53 AM
Sting had the commander in his crosshairs. One pull of the trigger and all hell would break loose. But he was paid to watch the establishment. Not to cause imperial entaglements.

There was some sudden movement. A cage fighter had broken free, it was a Zabrak.. Sting followed him as he almost made it out. He was oh so tempted to shoot the stormtrooper who hit him from behind.

Again he hashed it over in his mind. They where all paid up, what was the reason for this raid? He didn't know but he lowered himself into the shadows and kept his scrambler running. He could not afford to be detected. He would just watch and see if an opportunity presented itself..."Imperial scum." he muttered under his breath as he again targeted the female commander.

In shock, Nyax had dropped his weapon immediatly upon recieving the blow to his head. His eyes rolled once and he muttered:

"Frelling Imps..."

Then he collapsed to the floor.

Miranda Tarkin
Jun 18th, 2005, 10:08:57 AM
She flagged over two StormTroopers. "You two. Pick him up and get him out of here immediately. And you," Miranda referred to Lt. Kaal limping to his feet, clutching his now broken jaw. "Get out of here as well for medical attention."

With the situation dealt with, the processing of prisoners continued with Major Tucker. Everything seemed to finally be in order except something continued to eat at Miranda. Something was still out of place.

Her eyes scanned around the disheveled fight club, looking for whatever that something could be.Turning around in place, she lips pursed and found nothing suspicious. She still couldn't shake the feeling of being watched.

"Ma'am?" It was Major Tucker.

"Yes?" She asked over her shoulder.

Tucker found her current behavior unusual but kept his thoughts private. "We'll be done shortly. Shall I have your ship ready?"

She chewed on her lip, momentarily refusing an answer. Maybe the excitement of the raid was getting to her and shrugged off the bad feeling. "Please do. And make sure my package arrives safely to its destination."

"Of course," he offered a bow and finished processing the last few arrests.

Five Hours Later

When Nyax's eyes fluttered opened, he would be surprised to find that neither arms nor legs were bound, and instead of laying on the usual uncomfortable metal bed found in prison, he was sitting upright in a most agreeable chair.

As his eyes continued the focus, he would take note that the room he was in was dimly lit, mainly by candlelight, and that there was a menu placed over his table setting. The Chateau Amurenian. Named in part by the chef that established this building, it was one of the most expensive restaurants found on Coruscant, in part because of its location. Anyone wishing to dine here would need a hovercar since it was found floating above the CoCo district. It had the most spectacular views of the mountains from there. Unfortunately for Nyax, the windows to the private room were closed on behave of the woman that rented it out.

Across the perfectly set table, Miranda Tarkin was toasting her crystal glass of red wine to him. Nyax made out the doorway behind Miranda, as well as the two StormTroopers that stood at attention.

"Good, morning. Well," she grinned that sickly sweet grin that Nyax remembered from the raid, "good evening actually."

As she took a sip of her wine, Miranda's eyes narrowed and assessed Nyax's current condition. The drugs seemed to have done no permanent damage, though the Zabrak looked a bit punched drunk, "I trust you aren't too groggy from the tranquilizer?"

She waved a hand, "It shall pass. However, you should be ravenous. An unfortunate side-effect. Please," she opened her menu to prompt her guest, "order anything you wish."

Nyax Imotep
Jun 18th, 2005, 10:40:49 AM
"I want beer..."

Nyax's head hung wearily over the menu, now flat on the table, his finger wobbled along the lines. He swallowed hard.

"Barbequed bantha ribs and a bowl of nala frogs for starters." He uttered through parched lips.

"A pitcher of beer. The nuna breast, noodles and a side of Chandrillian vegetables. And the Dantooine mixed grill. And some bread."

He smacked his lips, still scanning the menu. He looked up.

"And a pitcher of beer. Big.. beer... like this..." He muttered drowsily, using his hands to emphasise the size of the beer pitcher.

"And hurry up!" He groaned to noone in particular. His head fell flat against the table and he closed his eyes.

"Why am I here?"

Miranda Tarkin
Jun 18th, 2005, 07:54:56 PM
As soon as Nyax spouted beer, she hit a small button on the edge of the table and summoned the waiter who was outside waiting patiently. He walked in time to hear the Zabrak beginning to rattle off his order. The poor human had to backtrack the order three times whenever beer was mentioned, otherwise his fingers danced along the datapad with ease.

He politely turned towards Miranda and leaned forward, "And for you, Ma'am?"

Nyax was acting like the spoil brat she had heard about. Already with the dramatics. "To eat of course." She smiled at the waiter. The line was for his benefit and kept her dinner guest in the dark of why he was here. "A freshly prepared salad. And the Corellian cheese and fruit plate. Unless namana is in season?"

"No I'm afraid not. Not until next month." he smiled apologetically.

"Damn. Oh well." She never even looked at the menu but held it out to the waiter, "More wine as well."

"Very good." He paused, looking at Nyax still laying over his menu.

"Get it later. Go place the order, please."

With a curt nod, he was gone and Miranda drummed at the table. "We'll discuss things in greater detailed when you are more capable of speaking instead of grunting."

Nyax Imotep
Jun 19th, 2005, 10:13:17 AM
Nyax forced himself to sit upright, his head tilted back and his eyes rolled a little. For a moment, he stared at the ceiling, then he closed his eyes.

"Okay." He said clearly. "Who are you and what do you want?"

Miranda Tarkin
Jun 19th, 2005, 01:06:14 PM
"Good," she nodded in approval. "You already know who I am."

The waiter returned with the largest pitcher that he could find in the kitchen to fill Nyax's order and topped off Miranda's glass of wine. He left the bottle to be chilled near her and placed down a basket of bread in the middle of the table.

Miranda's sole interest was in the Zabrak sitting across from her, who was already devouring the bread. "As for what I want, it's really more of what the Empire wants. I arranged your release into my custody hoping that we can come to a mutual agreement for the betterment of our positions."

She smiled over laced fingers, "Interested?"

Nyax Imotep
Jun 20th, 2005, 12:21:35 PM
"I am not gonna be some mindless little lapdog for the Empire!" Nyax ranted, crums leaping through his mouth. He slammed his fist upon the table, he found his strength returning and swallowed.

"If that is what you have in mind, Tarkin. Forget it!"

Miranda Tarkin
Jun 20th, 2005, 04:57:43 PM
Nyax's response was crude but expected.

"Guards." She waved them away. "Leave us."

They stood there confused by that order. One of the StormTroopers leaned forward in concern, Click."But, Ma'am...."Click.

She cut him off, "I said, leave us."

Her abrasiveness made certain the StormTrooper did not question her again. It was unwise to upset a Tarkin. Click."Yes, Ma'am."Click.

When they were finally alone, Miranda pulled the torton pin off her suit lapel and set it on the table. Something clicked on the side of it, causing the turtle looking creature's eyes to glow green. "This will make sure we can speak privately."

She picked up the wine glass and swirled the red contents, "The Empire's a cover story. I had to make it look good. You work for Sorsha, no?"

Nyax Imotep
Jun 23rd, 2005, 04:17:47 PM
"I don't know anyone called Sorsha." He said instantly.

Such knee-jerk responses had become instinctual since he had become a part of the Black Sun. Maybe he was stupid for not trusting the Tarkin but the name carried such Imperial notoriety and he wasn't yet prepared to take his chances with the woman.

He eyed the glowing device, then stared hard at Miranda.

"Who are you?"

Miranda Tarkin
Jun 23rd, 2005, 04:26:49 PM
He was lying, which was good. If Nyax had admitted to being part of Black Sun, there would have been hell to pay.

"I'm the woman that has known Sorsha since I was two." She winked, "I also know her secrets and because of our relationship, I watch over her assets."

Nyax Imotep
Jun 23rd, 2005, 04:36:08 PM
"And what assets would that be, Tarkin?"

He was prepared to test her with questions all night until he knew for sure where she was coming from. His curiosity piqued and he was amused by the surreal situation in which he had found himself.

"Let me guess..." he grinned.

"Me?"

Miranda Tarkin
Jun 23rd, 2005, 04:49:48 PM
She licked her lips, savoring the taste of the red wine and grinned back, "Exactly. It's why you're not in prison now and having a decent meal. I pulled some strings. A few favors were owed and your name was conveniently taken off the list of people who were arrested at the club."

Miranda was able to snatch one piece of bread of away for her own consumption. She would have to order more. "It's bad enough you like to get beat on in your spare time, but being arrested would have made Sorsha upset."

Her brow quirked upwards, "And we wouldn't want that, right?"

Nyax Imotep
Jun 23rd, 2005, 05:14:52 PM
"I don't care what Sorsha wants." He retorted angrily.

Nyax snapped another roll in half when their starters arrived. His eyes were fixed on the bowl of squirming nala frogs and a large plate of crimson barbequed ribs. He ripped a chunk from the loaf with his teeth and chewed enthusiastically. He spoke thickly through a mouthful of bread.

"I don't need a babysitter, Tarkin."

Miranda Tarkin
Jun 23rd, 2005, 05:30:16 PM
"You don't need a babysitter." She repeated, musing it over as the waiter set down her salad next to the plate of cheese and fruit she had ordered. "That may be the case, but if it weren't for me you'd be rotting in prison instead of enjoying that meal before you."

Her voice evened out in a threatening manner, "And it can easily be taken away." But then her voice changed with hazel eyes shining brightly, "Unless you want to go back to prison which can be arranged as well. I mean, with the Rebellion running guns through there, I know you're looking at least 20 years for treason alone." Slowly her lips pulled the cheese off from her fork with a smile. Nyax wasn't stupid. Loud, but not stupid. There was nothing subtle about what Miranda had done for him. The favors that were mentioned previously could be revoked.

"The choice is yours then," she spoke up again and stabbed at a grape. "Prison, oh," she flagged the waiter before he left, "More bread please." He nodded and left the room while Miranda finished, "Or stay. And talk with me."

A tiny frog wriggled from between his thumb and forefinger while he listened to Miranda, mouth agape, slowly curling into a smile. Then he noticed the escaping frog, making its way across the table.

"Where do you think you're going?"

His fist came down upon the creature with a thunderous boom. He picked up the remains, dipped it in his barbeque sauce and swallowed it whole. He sighed and looked at Miranda, smiling.

"So that is what this is all about. In that case, talk away Miss Tarkin. I'm all ears."

Then he turned his attention back to the bowl of nala frogs.

Her nose curled up at the scene but didn't comment. Nyax wasn't going to get off as easy as he presumed. "Good. We have a lot to discuss about how you're going to repay my good deed."

Nox laughed. It was a filthy laugh, he had been cornered like a rat and his only way out was to cut a deal with the broom-holder. He appreciated the game Miranda played; it was his father's game; it was his game. He mulled over the possibile avenues of repaying the favour while finishing off his second rack of ribs.

"You do realise how new on the scene I am and there's very little I have to offer to a woman such as yourself."

He scoffed, a waved his hand dismissively.

"I'm just a hired hand. You tell me, Tarkin: what can I do for you?"

"Oh please," she chuckled down at her plate, cutting one of the cheese wedges into smaller bite size portions. "Even the lowly hired hands must have aspirations to do more."

She perked her head upwards, "Or am I wrong?"

Nyax grinned mischievously. His suspisions were confirmed.

"So, what you're saying is... you're looking for a partner in crime? So to speak, of course."

He speared another frog with his fork and ate it. Miranda was being careful, she's a proud woman but he wanted her to say the word first.

She chewed her food with a smirk on her face, "Perhaps. It depends if you can help me hurt the Rebellion or not."

There. Her reasoning’s for springing him were laid out for Nyax and it wouldn't take more then two brain cells to figure out why Miranda wanted to make the Rebellion suffer. Now, the ball was back in his court to provide something useful to further her ambitions.
