Looks like we might have an answer to one of the biggest mysteries of the last 30 years who is Deep throat. According to Vanity Fair the source revealed himself to them and he was secon in command of the FBI Mark Felt

If true it is very interesting to find out this information and now we have a name to go with the story. Also we can finally recognize him for the hero he actually was in bringing down a very corrupt man.

It was a joke, actually. Based off a then-current porno. I think the guy had cancer and gave him a deep voice.

I think he finally came out because he feels like he is dying or something. The guy is 91.

It's good to see some men had the balls to bring down one of the most corrupt administrations ever.

I always thought it was Linda Lovelace. ;)
Actually, when I heard it was sort of disappointing. The endless theories were so much fun. The world is a little less mysterious now.

I know it is the last of the great political mysteries. It was interesting to hear the theories from Alexander Haig-Diana Sawyer to Pat Buchanan. I guess that is in the past. Still, it is nice to see this man being recognized for being a hero now while he is still alive.

It's his family thats coming out, not him. He only just told them within the last year.

Balls would have been to call him on it, not leak it to the press.

But things were different back then, the Attorney General and the Head of the FBI were both in on the conspiracy so he really had no choice. Heck he could have been afraid of his life, Nixon was a horrible man who knows what he could have done. Heck listen to his tapes someone mentions he might have been Jewish and Nixon said J*** C*** Hoover let a Jew in there. The man was a huge anti-Semite and I would have put nothing past him.
